WARORK93
Name: Beltayn "The Jackal" Cuthalion
Age: 305
Race: Eldar
Affiliation: Mercenary
Designation: Pathfinder (Ranger Exarch)
Appearance: At a glance, Beltayn looks nothing more than a tall human, but upon closer examination he is so much more. Wiry limbs bely his physical strength and dexterous hands and feet. His make and structure gives one hte sense of dlicacy and fragility, a first impression that often has his enemies underestimate his agility and speed. The few things that can be used to seperate him from most men can be found by looking at his face. Long silver hair grows over his scalp and his sunken eyes are misty blue in color and can hold an ice cold stare like no human can. Other than the slight nuances in his facial features that set him apart from the reest of humanity there are the long, leaf shaped ears that denote him as one of the Eldar race. His skin is pale and gaunt and one of his most notable features is the system of intricately laced tatoos, set in deep blue, that criss cross over the right side of his face and neck; honor marks from the many hunts he has accomplished over his long life.
Personality: Beltayn possesses a wit that is as cold as his eyes. His voice is seldom heard as he only speaks when he feels it is necessary, such is a habit of one who has been a hunter for the past three centuries. He prefers to be clad most of the time in his practical hunter's garb, the same clothing he wars under the mesh combat armor and Cameleoline cloak he wears while on the job. Beltayn disdains the use of heavy armor and advanced technology, prefering to use his natural ability and har won skill to best his prey. Beltayn has walked the path of the outcast for three centuries and to this day he still feels the call of that path, urging him to attempt greater and greater feats of predatory talent in order to gain honor for himself and those around him. Beltayn is cold an near unapproachable from the outside to most and is content that a vast majority of other beings leave him be. He has, however, acquired a few acquaintances along his chosen path, some closer than others, his sense of honor is everything to him and he will do all in his power to either save or increase it.
Beltayn is a hunter by nature and seeks to personify the word in every sense of its meaning. He has killed thousands of times in his life, both enemy, target, and game. He is a master of every type of killing art that requires a touch of finesse and silence. He is both able to kill from unseen places far away or up close just an arm's length away. His experience has taught him how to anticipate, how to be one step ahead of the prey at all times and as such he is adept at the art of ambush. In short, Beltayn is a killer, it doesn't matter how hard or easy it is to kill something, if it needs to die, he'll find a way to do it.
Bio: Beltayn spent his young life aboard the craftworld of Alaitoc, his first name meaning "Young and mighty" his second meaning "Strongbow." In fact, he was known by his second name until he left the craftworld for his skill in marksmanship. There, from an early age he was pressured to strictly follow his chosen path, such is the tradition of that Craftworld. Like a few youths of his generation, he was unhappy with this strict adherence to laws and sought a more free life amongst the stars, he felt too constricted and so followed the Path of the Outcast, travelling to many Exodite worlds as he learned the way of his path. He's hunted big and small game, both rare and common, all across the galaxy, in every corner. He prides himself on remembering every single hunt he's ever been on and as such he can recall the exact number of any species or type of enemy he's killed. He has with him a leather strap which is attatched to the stock of his modified long rifle which holds many fangs, teeth, or other bones which all used to belong to every animal he has ever hunted. He also wears a necklace with several hogteeth (the bullet heads of sniper rifle hard rounds), each has a number engraved on it denoting the number of the kill and each marks a time in which he bested another marksman in combat. Other than this, Beltayn has ritualistically kept many small unseen habits while on the job that his employers never ask about, being happy that the job has been done to their satisfaction.
In the underworlds of many planets, Beltayn has acquired the nickname "The Jackal" a name which he finds stupid and petty but utilizes to his advantage. The name, he has found, inspires fear amongst anyone who would be his enemy and generally makes him a more imposing figure to those around him. Though seperated from his homeworld, he still has a loyalty and pride to his people and will not do anything to willingly harm innocents as a whole. He may be a mercenary but he does have standards. Before he became a freelance worker, he was often a soldier, fighting on behalf of the forces of his craftworld and assisting Eldar ground forces with his skills and talents. Wherever he treads, enemies fear his reach, his name is both a device with which to identify an unidentifiable danger and a weapon of psychological warfare.
Equipment: Most importantly is his black cameleoline cloak which has aged with him over the years and functions to hide him from even the most scrutinous eyes. A heavily modified Ranger long rifle he sang himself out of wraithbone, it is the only piece of his gear he has ever personified, calling it "Ralion", his people's name for the longbow. He has customized it to fit his habits and function to perfect his abilities in the art of long range death. The barrel has been lengthened bith to increase accuracy and to accomadate the atypical, highpowered shot he uses. The firing mechanism has also been modified similarly for the same reasons. The rifle has adjustable power settings and multi vision optics, its stock and furniture, while holding his trophies, also has had many Eldar runes engraved onto it, all of which are dedicated to giving the weapon resilience and unerring accuracy. His trusty shuriken pistol has also been modified from the standard to fit his style. It is more compact and has been customized for quick firing, accuracy, and silence. He also carries a combo of a monomolecular wraithbone sabre which has also been etched with runes of power as well as a matching dual edged dagger that is usually held in tandem with the single sided sabre. Other than weapons he carries little equipment or provisions besides his rangefinder binoculars and other such pieces which aid him on his hunts.
Tyranic Marta
Name: Ludias Storm to those close to him. Delta 571 to strangers
Age: 37
Race: Human (Genetically enhanced)
Faction: Mercenary
Appearance: Ludias has an almost perfect body; through his genetic reconstruction he has well defined muscle tones and powerful limbs. His wavy light brown hair and blue grey eyes are endearing as is his soft melodic voice. His lightly tanned skin and large powerful hands and shoulders all give him an aura of strength and resilience. But at the same time he has a grace about him that isn’t often seen. His movements are economical and his body is regulated on how much energy he expends doing tasks. This easy grace and light-footedness make him an excellent dancer and he uses this trait to mingle with the upper classes of society in even this war torn millennium.
Personality: His soft voice and easy grace betray a kind of ease about him. A self assuredness that makes people warm quickly to him and listen to his words. This charisma allows him to quickly gain information where he needs it. Ludias is a warm person, his general camaraderie lets him make friends of all shapes and sizes but he also has many enemies. These enemies are often the friends and family of his marks. Ludias doesn’t care as soon as he leaves what ever planet he was on he is often safe, very few of the people he kills have the friends with resources to avenge them. As a person he is usually kind and has a well tempered personality that allows people to warm to him easily this has given him a certain air of charm that people are attracted to like bees to honey. And his business partner Beltayn has known him long enough to know that he is really a good person under the mask. His charms would have led many women into his arms if he had let them but he is too smart to let anyone get to close. He has many enemies and he trusts only those who he knows he can.
However, as soon as his custom made snipers mask covers his face he becomes a different person. It’s almost as if a completely different personality takes control of the usually jovial man. When he is on the job he is cold and ruthless he never thinks twice about the kill, he just kills, but he is extremely loyal and will fight to the death to protect his closest friends. His perfectly honed mind is always centered on the job at hand. He revels in the chase and the sting, the power that his hand crafted Exitus rifle, and its pistol twins, (Yes two of them) give him. For him there is nothing more satisfying than the pull of his rifles trigger and the muted sound of his latest construction whirring towards his foe,
Ludias is an inventor his bullets, his rifle, even his suit and mask, have been tailored by him to suit his requirement. To become a perfect killer to become the one thing that ever civilization in the world fears, death itself. Every bullet is designed for its mark. Designed to exploit the weaknesses in his foe and make use of chinks in his her or even its armour. He has fired electromagnetic rounds that have torn apart the armoured carapace of Necron lords; he has fired biochemical rounds that have dissolved the internal organs of a raging Tyranid bioform; he has fired a single round that tore to shreds the armoured hulk of a chaos land raider entering through the exhaust port and then detonating destroying the engine from within which then exploded and tore the warriors inside to shreds. Of course these special rounds are only reserved for the most important of Marks, the rounds he uses for every day shooting are often mundane and ordinary, but they always have some kind of additional weapon against whatever he is firing at, for Ludias has fought had almost all of the sentient species of the galaxy between his sights or in his scope. And so he always has a bullet for the job, often dozens of bullets. His pistols have similar attention lavished on them; their rounds are one of a kind. Well... to say one of a kind suggests that they are unique, more to the point they are unique in the way that Ludias is the only one who knows their design no matter that he has several clips of identical rounds on a belt round his waist. These rounds incorporate a two part toxin/acid in them, that doesn’t mix until the special ceramic core of each bullet shatters. When this virulent mixture fuses together it can melt dissolve or liquefy everything from the living metal of the Necrons to the bone breastplate of a space marine.
History: Ludias grew up an orphan; he never knew the loving touch of parents. Some of his closest friends and business associates think that this is why he still kills, that drive inside him that forces him to take another’s life stems from him never having felt anything but lifelessness in his existence. So now he strives to give to the galaxy the only love he ever knew; the raw terror of being on the wrong end of his trigger finger. The pure adrenaline that comes from knowing that you are in the scope of the galaxies most feared human marksman is a rare experience because most of his targets never know, and Ludias never misses. The reason he is so cold is because his parents were killed when he was young; a crude autogun slaughtering them both in the hands of a two bit killer hired by a fanatical cultist of chaos. Ludias grew up with only the knowledge of the weapon that killed his parents and he, frankly, is insulted that such a crude simple weapon took his family away from him. From the time Ludias realized this he has sought to create the perfect killing weapon, a weapon so finely honed to the art of death that its every function is economical and efficient enough that from the moment he sights his target he can load a cold round and take the shot within half a second. His rifle is the result of 34 years of development towards this goal. A cold round is a bullet fired from a rifle when its barrel is cool, and so not moving with the action of its components and thus, less accurate. His rifle is so perfectly accurate and perfectly balanced that the finely honed weapon is capable of firing a cold round at 1800 meters and still hit a coin on its cross section. The weapon is also crafted exactly for him and him alone, anyone else trying to use the weapon would find it uncomfortable and unwieldy.
Ludias has discovered that his weapon is unique in more ways than one. The rifle of a traditional Vindicare assassin has something that his doesn’t, a self destruct. If a vindicare goes out of line then his high command can remove his most prized possession from him. This freedom gives Ludias an unimaginable advantage, and he is hired because of this. He can strike anytime, anywhere and against any target. And he is answerable to none because none know who he is. He never gives his name only his serial number, to business partners. Only his Friends get his name. And only one can link the man behind the mask to the mask itself Beltayn. Because of this advantage Ludias takes his rifle all over the galaxy and with it he moves from job to job giving his services out in return for technologies that he can use to improve his equipment. By far the best trade he ever got was exactly 19 years ago. His body was almost completely reconstructed from its base components by a creature he had never seen the likes of before and in return Ludias only had to kill one creature; a dark eldar by the name of Griodial Nambecus. That one shot, one cold round gave him the best gift he could ever receive; the gift of a body that would not grow old and betray his mind with weakness.
Ludias has trained himself for years; his body has become no more than a tool, an instrument of perfection for him to express his views through, these views are often expressed from behind the scope of his Rifle. In the last 4 years or so Ludias has been partnered with Beltayn an Eldar Pathfinder, who has become one of Ludias' closest friends, and if Ludias is really honest with himself, the only friendship he has ever been able to hold down amidst the ever shifting view his life has had.
Reason for being in the Eye of Terror: Ludias takes out what are known as blind ops. He doesn’t know who the target is until he has them in his sights, this stops him from getting attached to the target until its to late for him to change his mind. Recently he was tasked with taking out a mark in the rim world of Martos Prime. Only when he reached the planet and hooked up with his friend Beltayn did he realize that both he and his friend had been given contracts to take each other out. Flatly refusing to kill each other they fled into the eye of terror to avoid the full wrath of their respective clients.
Equipment: Custom Made Exitus rifle and Twin Exitus Pistols. Also his Stealth suit and enhancer mask are custom made. His hand crafted Bullets are a result of his own skill and the tool kit he has aboard his personal ship, an old two seated interceptor he made himself. The ship has only a pair of quads but is very fast and small. It also has its own stealth field, and radar jamming devices. Ludias has at some point installed an interstellar drive which allows him to make short subspace "Hops". The drive is a modified version of the one the Tau use to propel their much larger craft. These short "Hops" Allow Ludias to jump from solar system to solar system quickly, but the drive needs a significant amount of time to recharge. (Note I can’t ever see him using the drive I just put it in to explain how he can lead such a "Solo" life away from capital ships that can take him places.)
-.- you guys really shouldnt piss my characters of. Someone does it in every RP. It was Noccy in the last one, noccy in the one before that, shas in this one, Evaelc in Raknoll, Ugh.
Youve all seen the results and no shas that post was not full of goddmodding. I have, (neumerous) times detailed my character so that the actions I just did would not appear as such. I treated that whole thing like a close combat. Ludias would have had higher initiative that Hunter, and has a power weapon. Easily capable of killing him like that and we have never seen Hunter use or have an Invulnerable. The Tau are useless in Close combat and would have dropped like flies, high powered weapons or no. Vindicare assassins have (From Memory) a 4+ invulny, quite capable of shrugging of a couple of shots from a pulse rifle or a rail rifle. Additionally you will notice that Ludias did not get out unscathed. He was quite severly wounded. Additionally. His entire body has been engineered to perfectiona nd his mind along with it, by a Haemonculous. Thus I see no issue with him being able to sprint forwards maybe 3 steps to get to the Shas'o before the rail rifle could recharge. They arnt exactly rapid fire weapons.
If this awkwardness doesnt shrug itslef of then im just going to get Ludias killed and leave. Shas... Sorry mate, i never intended for this to happen. But in all honesty it wasnt totally my fault, you reacted a little over the top to me fighting Syrath. I mean cmon, hunter can just call him back and its not like Syrath is unable to talk.
Sorry dude its just my character thought that you had totally ruined any chance of getting anything out of Syrath through you continually going on at him, and eventually fighting him...
... and I myself had no idea that Hunter was linked to Syrath, when did this happen?
Kais shouted at you very little before walking away, and you threatened his life, which was a bit of an over reaction...
... about the fight, I specifically put that my character would get to a safe distance which would imply it was medium to long range combat, therefore the combined power of the Tau and Dark Eldar would kill you, if not Hunter who could shoot the back of your head at the slightest movement...
... but the point is, we overlooked all of that, so it didn't happen, and we should stop going on about it and get back to the RP...
sure, in that case can you please not throw them at us like every single time theres an encounter? Seriously. my character wont run and Its going to get boring if I have to keep making new ones
I've accepted the fact that they will be appearing randomly to screw us over...its something you get used to after playing Half life and having the GMan do that constantly...
BTW did anyone notice the obvious reference?
"Go through this portal and you will have everything you want...disagree and get locked in a room with a thousand enemies..."
No you wouldn't and I do miss Marius, even enough to think of restarting the RPG 'Into the Eye of Terror' with Marius and Mikal together at the start, like a revival of some sorts.
hmmm, well ludias will die at some point, hes not supposed to live forever. He was sort of a interlude while I got my new character sorted, And he will be (more than likely) as well loved as Marius
Dont bother trying to keep it true to the origional, make it so that its an adventure that doesnt involve syrath and those other funky daemons and stuff, make it against nids and things. That would be cool
Tyranic Marta wrote:Dont bother trying to keep it true to the origional, make it so that its an adventure that doesnt involve syrath and those other funky daemons and stuff, make it against nids and things. That would be cool
Syrath will be at the end, shortly though and not as much. Only to put Marius in the Dreadnought, the Nids will be at the start and will lead into the Eye where Marius and Mikal bond properly, I think if it had been like that at the start it would have been amazing.
Yeah I reckon so too, what do you say we redo the whole series but bring everything down to a different tone with more character development etc. Really put the throttle on and make it worthy of posting as a dakka novel?
Likewise, the secind was my favorite because of Marius's sheer epicness in the later stages. The massive autocannon rifle was one of my favorite weapons in the whole RP
Loved the scene where Marius and the Space Wolves destroy the Cruiser and Syrath goes all G-Man on him and tells him he was a pawn, Marius rage quits and jumps out of the bridge.
This is starting to confuse me a lot...if Ludias dies what is Beltayn supposed to do? And really? A coma? Thats a really lame way for Ludias to go out...
As for the redo of all three...yeah I guess that could be cool but to be honest I think it would be boring to try and redo three RPS just to make them better...they don't exactly work like movies where you can just go back and remake them better...
blood reaper wrote:He'll be fine I think and the rp's will be very different. We don't just want to change them but re-create them completely.
Well, I suppose that could work, the first RP was pretty flat there for a while and the second was pretty short...the third, so far, has fallen primarily due to the lack of participation and confusion of the storyline...
I have a question for Marta though...you live in New Zealand right? I was wondering if you were Maori...no real reason for asking but your Termina character reminded me of them...
Appearance: Lucian Is clad in Runic armour that has served him through many hundreds of battles, his armour has the plasteel design of the skull of a Fenrisian wolf mounted on its front facing downwards with and each shoulder pauldron has been remade to suit the shape of a skull also. He is a formidable sight as his greaves have plasteel wolves claws spiking up from them flush with his thigh armour, his arms and chest have designs of wolves all over the armour and the fingers of his gloves appear to be wolves claws themselves, jointed and plasteel but painted to look (and feel if he rakes someone with them) wolf claws. His master crafted Frostblade, Icetooth, is his mainstay weapon. He also carries a Master Crafted bolter with him at all times he often never finds use for it but it was the weapon (reforged) that he had carried as a Grey hunter and kept it with reverence. His typically Helmetless head is adorned with a bionic eye that replaced is left eye after he lost it fighting a hive Tyrant on Macragge with the Ultramarines. He bears a single long braid that often flows over his backpack and his beard is braided into a pair of steel grey lines that bare over his chest. Each perhaps a foot long. He bears several wolftooth Neckalces around his neck and wolftail talismans hang from many points on his armour, including the tip of his swords hilt and his bolders muzzle guard. His typically quiet raspy voice rises to a roar in the midst of battle.
History: Lucian was once a simple warrior, he fought without passion. His mind always blank when he fought. It would be unnerving to watch the warrior eat through tribesman after tribes man with only his personal warsword. He ended up separated from his tribe in hostile lands and fought his way for three weeks across the frozen wastes of Fenris. Nothing got in his way and survived. Even a mighty Magtheridon bull fell to his blade and so when the Wolf priests found him he was wrapped in its great wolly pelt nearly frozen in the snows of his homeland. But far, far from home. The Wolf priests to him to Asahiem and reared him as one of thier own seeing in him a kindred spirit. But the life of a wolf priest was not for him. He fought long and hard in service of the great Bjorn. his mind and body were tuned to battle like no other space wolf before him. He was, as the wolf priests say, touched by Russ. His sword became a relic of the chapter, its blade reforged with plasteel and adamantine alloy and the chain of diamond teeth attatched to the outside rim of the reforged weapon chewed through many many chaos warriors. The chapter was never sure exactly what to call him. His mind was tacticla and astute, but only in the ways of a few warriors, not many. He was not destined to be a Wolf Lord. He was inducted into the wolf guard after killing a pair of Terminator champions on the frozen wastes of a planet in the outer rim, near the ghost stars. When he returned back to Fenris it was to finds his pack killed by chaos.
He vowed vengeance and for the next 600 years fought like a man possessed. No passion ever entered his body but his sword was always perfectly timed to kill his foe. He was a master deulist and frequently won Wolftooth necklaces at the battles in the fang. Eventually his skill with a blade and tactical aptitude were recognised and we was bromoted to Wolfguard Battle Leader. But as a lone wolf it was never his place to lead a great company so he gathered about himself other Lone wolves of the chapter and together they shredded their way through the galaxy. Eventually it turned out that he was on Fenris when Chaos attacked under the command of Syrath. Lucian fought in the battle for Fenris many times often on the periphery of the battle. He even sighted The legenday Marius Ichorskin deulling with a massive Daemon he later found was called Syrath.
Ultimatley however he ended up with anouther pair of names on his runic armour to avenge. His Wolf Lord Bjorn, and Marius himself. He refused to accept that it was his fault that he had turned and treated Marius as dead. Killed by chaos, and someone for him to avenge. A month after the battle he was sent back into the Eye of Terror on the trail of Shas'o Kais. The one commander who could lead him to the Daemon who had caused Marius's Betrayal.
Equipment: Runic Armour, Icetooth (Mastercrafted hand and a half Frost Blade), Coldsnap (Master Crafted Bolter), Wolftooth Necklace, Wolftail Talisman. Saga of the Warrior Born.

DW Ludias will come back, I actually intended for the missle to go of and kill him but I guess Reaper doesnt like using Explosives to kill characters so I will have to do this the old fasioned way. Anyhoo, Lucian will be my next char
Kais will get love in the coming story, Syrath's got a revenge list and since Marius and Mikal have been crossed off it your next. Who's been defying Syrath's lust for power so many times and look at Martas new profile, a Space Wolf is looking for you. Your an Important character Shas.
Somebody tell me when the final battle with Syrath comes along (Y'know, when we kil him for the thousandth and final time ) Because I have an idea that I know everyone will love.
OI I actually try hard to wait for you, but i keep getting called away to butcher Reapers seriously overpowered numbers of marines that he sends, I mena reaper really, you must be using every single damn chaos marine in the galaxy for this war, there arnt actually that many of them left you know
no prob shas, but seriously reaper, you have thrown waaaaaaayyyy to many marines at us over the course of these RP's, there literally arnt that many chaos marines in existance
Tyranic Marta wrote:no prob shas, but seriously reaper, you have thrown waaaaaaayyyy to many marines at us over the course of these RP's, there literally arnt that many chaos marines in existance
Syrath is rarin to be the next Chaos God...I think he's entitled to a whole bunch of marines from pretty much all four Gods...thats okay though, we can just knock em down like we have been, he'll run out of stuff to throw at us eventually...
::::BREAKING NEWS::::
Recently the cadian gate was stabled when a pair of unnamed warriors killed 15000000000 chaos space marines and ended the way. In a statement one of the warriors pointed the proverbial finger at the Tyranids. saying "Your up next"

...that made my day...and there's only an hour and a half left in it...good show Marta...
I have to say tho, its quite flattering how my characters always end up as a center pin for these RP's... Quite cool really. But also how you guys seem to miss them when theyre gone. Marius has etched himself firmly into the psykes of all who have seen this RP, I even saw a reference to him on Fanfic

He was a great and developed character...it be awesome to see that kind of greatness again...
I have a feeling that when the rest of Lucian's lone wolf pack finally finds him there's going to be a poor tortured dog to be put down...
I have to say however that I keep losing the opportunity to develop characters how I want to. Ludias kept getting chased by the employers, Lucian has been morphed...

You gotta learn to be more flexible...go with the flow...roll with the punches...the GM will throw you curveballs, good RPers make them work, great RPers make them awesome...
Sorry, that kinda sounded arrogant but its true...-shrugs-
The Ludias thing was partly my own inability to be bothered with running a non Marine. I can just flow with them better. And this thing with Lucian is way outta my hands
Tyranic Marta wrote:The Ludias thing was partly my own inability to be bothered with running a non Marine. I can just flow with them better. And this thing with Lucian is way outta my hands
That is true...but there are ways to purify someone that has mutations...though I'm not sure what could purify something so mutated...
I had an idea about that flake of the Emperor's armor but I have no idea where it is and in fact i have no clue why Reaper brought that object into play anyway...it didn't do anything...perhaps if and when Syrath is defeated we can find it and somehow use it to cure Lucian? -shrugs-
Dont worry about it. Lucian has officially died to me as soon as he was even touched by thea warp. in quite the same way that Marius died soon after I turned him. I may like chaos characters but only if I start them as chaos

I want to try to do a Kroot character for a 40kRP or maybe a Skull taker berzerker...I want to try a Chaos character at least once even though I'm a firm believer in the Imperial faith...
i could run a chaos marine, and you could do that... indeed... im not very good with the whole tau thing tho... id probly end up trying to equip a battlesuit with a powerweapon...

should be, you'd have to take it up for Reaper but I think he'd be for it as long as you actually stay instead of making a few posts and leaving like most of the others do...
A stormtrooper you say? Any way that could be Kasrkin? I had a character that used to be kasrkin in the first RP of this series...perhaps the two could have known each other or been in the same unit...
Hell yeah! This is gonna be one hell of a final, with lasers, explosions and Pirate ninjas riding on cyborg raptors but seriously its going to be great.
Uh huh. Lucian fortunatley has his daemon prince form so I can go toe to toe with Marius without getting owned.. Although im gonna need a sword. The Other Lone wolves need to be killed of before then however... they wernt actually meant to last this long, they were merly a prop to get us in. Good luck with Mikal. From memory he was using Flashfreeze when he died and his Terminator armour was the last thing he wore... You could have a real mish taking him down
With Syrath commentating and you don't need to kill them Just bring em down and set them free, also they will have Chaotic powers given to them by Syrath and are desperate to finally be put to a end by Syrath.
Tyranic Marta wrote:Marius aka Tyranic was already extremely powerful in the was of the warp from memory, I shudder to think what new powers he may have.
And Ill still need a sword... there's no way I can duel Marius with a frigging spear.
Perhaps Syrath would be so kind as to lend Lucian one...after all I'm sure he'd love to see a fair fight between all of the main characters...
He'd also probably take those other lone wolves off your hands for ya...
Well, he did get his armor pierced by Flashfreeze in the skull area...perhaps that gap in his armor is still open...
Syrath did not need them, he created exact copies and placed their souls into them. Since we are partaily in the warp/web way we don't really require bodies, you kinda fade in and out.

It does make sceance, he would have known that Syrath was never bound and who do you think brought him back to life. He's been giving info to Syrath ever since the start of the rp.

Traitorous motherfether...
Beltayn will enjoy carving his warp eyes from their sockets...
Because he's lonely and collects stamps, Syrath collects everything. Including the helm of the Lion and the original copy of the book of Mangus, the one in the libery is a fake.

O.O
Syrath's strangeness and ability to out-odd most other daemons I've ever known knows no bounds...

Well yeah...I mean he does have a lot of slaanesh followers with him doesn't he?
Now where's that dam Tau? I wana get role playing.
Brother against Brother
Wolf vs Wolf
Frost against Ice
The two once great warriors stood at opposite ends of the arena, each covered in their own blood and ready to fight again. The Dreadnought moved in slamming his massive tentacle into the ground near to the other wolf who slams his axe into the knee joint of the Dreadnought, it collapses to the roar of the crowd and the sigh of a wolf. He shudders as the Dreadnought rises and grabs the young wolf, his great tentacle crushing his ribcage and dropping the carcass before being attacked again. It was vile, Syrath laughed, his greatest enemies fought each other for his entertainment. He sneered and laughed, another would join his arena. Soon. The screams of the undead carcasses were filled with pain as they where dragged back to their filthy chamber, where they would be tortured by Daemons for fun.
The chamber was dark and filthy, green light barley lit the room and the sound of strained breathing and blood dripping was all that could be heard. Marius and Mikal and rarely spoke with one another, both ashamed of their current degrading state.
It always took a long time for the servants of Syrath to wake Marius. His dreadnought slumber often stretched for long periods of time. In these times he would retreat in his mind to that place he had discovered months ago. There he would meditate and strive to resist the attempts of the forces of Syrath to awaken him. This was not simply to strive off the beasts but so that he did not have to relive his fight with his brother over and over again.
This time however there was something different. The forces of chaos had chained his chassis to the wall with snide comments about dogs at the door. Marius wasnt stupid, he knew they were talking about more space wolves. His emotions roiled inside him. Anger betrayal, but also hope... and a touch of sadness. Had more of his chapter fallen to the beast that was Syrath?
Mikal was dragged into the chamber forcefully, he was broken, battered, and bloody, just like every time he had to fight Marius...or should he say Marta?
Every time he was dragged out into the arena, he was reminded of the cold snows of Fenris, the white virgin powder that had been kicked up and vaporized on that day when he and his once brother had fought, he had never been able to forget that day since his soul was dragged screaming from the warp by Syrath's servants and bound forcefully to this...this filthy body...
He barely felt the daemons pick him up gruffly and attach his arms and legs back to the wall, his head had long since remained bowed, he had been broken long since however long his soul had endured this hell just for the entertainment of the bastard daemon Syrath.
"Awwwww..." One of the Daemon's mocked, lifting Mikal's head with its clawed hand. "Is the poor puppy hurt?" It laughed with its comrades. "Maybe you're thirsty?" It continued picking up a bucket of filthy water and tossing it into Mikal's face. Mikal didn't stir for a moment but he lifted his head as the daemon's laughed and he spat on the nearest one's face.
It snarled and backslapped Mikal, leaving claw grooves in the side of his face.
"Careful you sniveling worm, lest I be tempted to feed your soul to the wraiths!" It laughed with its comrades as it left the chamber and Mikal chained to the wall. Mikal was aware that his once brother was chained not too far away but he couldn't look at him, the shame was too much. Silently he simmered and pondered his fate.
"How far does the pit of darkness go down?" He asked quietly to himself. "Where does it end?"
Marius hears Mikal's whisper. Something about the chassis he was in made it hyper aware and the whisper was like a scream in the ear of a bat for Marius. It made him wince internally. The sounds were horrible to hear sometimes. The worst was the screams...
Marius threw himself against the chains making the wall quake and flex but to no avail. He was well and truly locked in place. His vox casters lifeless voice fills the room. "The pit is only as large as your own turmoil Mikal..."
Mikal's head picks up at Marius' words, he can't really tell what emotion drives his voice because of the mechanical tone in it but he knows that Marius is as weary of this situation as him. Despite his depression, Mikal felt anger well up in him as he leans as close as he can to Marius with the chains holding him back.
"And what would you know, you bastard tin can?!" He shouts in anger and tears. "Don't pretend for a second you know the meaning of turmoil, brother..." He says putting emphasis on the last word. "I had to cut out a part of my own soul to kill you Marius...and it was your weakness that put us both here, do not tell me the meaning of turmoil, for I know what it feels like to have to kill my own brother!"
Mikal finishes and sags against his chains. He sobs quietly, his sanity stretched to its limit by the endless days of torture and combat...
Marius feels a well of sadness inside him. He was eternally ashamed of what he did. His weakness. His inability to deal with that damn assassin. His dreadnought arms flexed against the chains and Marius's vox roared in fury at his inability to escape. A tentacle seeminly of its own accord raised up to Marius's viewport and waved itself.
The dreadnought felt a surge of anger. This... thing was the embodiment of his failure, the symbol of his damnned treachery. He lashed out with his mind and his body began to burn. THe chassis lit with holy fire that purged the armour of Tentacles. His mind lashed out again and the chains shattered and fell to the floor.
He raised himself to his full hieght and went over to Mikal. His chassis was heavy, but not ponderous. His almost Lithe grace belied the massive nature of his body as he lowered himself to the ground infront of Mikal.
"Brother... you know what Syrath has done to me. He twisted my mind, made me see things in ways that I could not before. I am not trying to defend myself. Rather I am trying to show you that it was not truly me who fought you on the plains of Fenris. I was watching that battle from within myself. In a place that was deep in my soul. I was trying to break free. That wretch had a power over me that I could not understand. I still do not understand."
The old dreadnought shifted slightly on the cobblestones.
"I have lived for centuries Mikal. And when I found you as a friend. I found something that I never had before. Someone who thought on the same vein as I did. Someone who used his mind as well as his body to fight his foes. It tore me apart later, to see that Assassin ripping our chapter to shreds with her insitance on the need to kill me, and by extension Hemlock. And the way you barely defended me, they way you spent more of your time arguing with the Assassin than doing your duty to your home, your chapter. How in the end, I watched a part of you die. I couldnt fight it. I had no defense against the battle in your soul. In my soul. In our chapter. I had no way of fighting back. Something awoke inside of me that took me away from the fighting. The arguments, the feeling of betrayal. And I loath myself for ever answering that call. You say I know nothing of turmoil? Have you ever betrayed everyone you ever knew? the very institution, the family, that created you? Betrayed them in such a way that you lead the forces that were trying to destroy them? Betrayed them in such a way that you Obliterated every tie you ever had with your home?"
The dreadnought stands and smashes the chains holding Mikal bound to the wall and catches the limp warrior in one massive hand. Cradling his power armoured form.
Mikal plunks down on the floor and refuses to move from his seat against the wall. He is silent for a few moments before he speaks, his head bowed.
"I am sorry Marius, the nature of our conflict often causes me to forget that the thing I fought on Fenris was not you. I cannot imagine how frustrating it must have been for you to be slaved to your chassis and have to run the great company at the same time. I cannot imagine how angering it must have been to see your friend and brother hot headedly argue like a child. I was just a blood claw then, Marius, I knew nothing else besides recklessness." Mikal admitted sadly.
"No matter how I may rage against you Marius, know that I cannot find it within myself to hate you, it is only the bile meant for Syrath speaking. I was blinded by my anger and could not see your downfall, you were tempted, as Horus was, by whispers you thought were your own thoughts. We are both to blame for this curse and i am sorry that I do not see it that way sometimes."
Mikal was too full of shame to look up at the chassis of Marius. The two of them had long been broken in both body and soul, forced to forever reenact their final battle at Syrath's whim. Moments passed in silence, the two could only hear the distant screams of other prisoners. Finally Mikal spoke again.
"Did you hear them? Their whispers? Our brothers stalk Syrath's realm...Who do you think it could be?" He asked, a small amount of hope entering his voice.
Marius was thankful for Mikal, the wolf brother was the one constant in his existance and the flutter of hope in Mikal's voice made the old dreadnought realise just how battered the pair of them really were.
His confidant answer shocked even himself.
"Lone wolves, no others would come. They are probably tracking Syrath. To enact vengeance. Perhaps even warriors from our own great company."
The dreadnought chassis sinks to the ground leaning against the wall nest to Mikal. He was thinking about Mikal's statement.
"Mikal... you may consider yourself to have only been a bloodclaw. And that is rightly so. However you must remember that at the time I was a Wolf Lord. I still fell for the temptations of Syrath. It is not your age or your experiece that determines your future. Sometimes things are inescapable. It is like Hemlock would say to me when I was a Bloodclaw: 'Life itself is like folding steel, puch to hard and your work will be undone, be to timid and your progress will halt. All things require balance.'. It is like that within our minds. Our souls. We need balance or everything comes crashing down around us. Look at what happened to me? I had no balance I was always being pushed furthur than I could truly handle, but in my pride I tried to shoulder the burden alone... No this is not your fault alone Mikal. This failure sits with me."
Mikal struggled to his feet, his body feeling sluggish and broken. Despite himself he is able to smile and chuckle.
"You may take many forms Marius Ichorskin but there is one thing that never changes about you. You always know the wise thing to say..." He says lightly before his expression hardens.
"This failure might be yours but this fate is ours and the holder of that fate plays with our souls like mere puppets." Mikal marches to the bars that hold them in the chamber.
"I know you can hear me Syrath...You think you have won...but your greatest mistakes was keeping our souls alive in these bodies...Do you hear me Syrath?! Our imprisonment will not last for eternity!" He yells and smashes his power armored fist against the bars with a loud clanging. He returns to Marius and sighs.
"For a moment I thought what a grand day it would be if our brothers came to free us..." He said sadly and closed his eyes with pain. "But I realize it would be best if they continued to think us dead."
Marius would have turned down the volume on his vox if he could... but no, it was stuck at full volume. So the words he spoke next, if in a real body would have been a whisper. But the chassis he was in turned them into a roar.
"What makes you say that Mikal?"
"We are failures, Marius, we failed the chapter, we failed the space wolves, we failed Russ and we failed the Allfather. Our souls have been bound in slavery to a Daemon of Chaos. If they were to find us here, they would be better off putting us out of our misery. We cannot return to the chapter." Mikal says painfully into space. He then turns and looks at Marius.
"We should be dead. Our continued life is a perversion of nature made possible by the sorceries of the Warp. Marius, if we cannot free ourselves, we do not deserve salvation from others, especially our once brothers from the chapter."
Mikal sinks again to his bottom. "We have fallen too low."
Marius looks at the broken wolf before him. And a measure of resolve rises within him.
"Then let us escape, you and I, our bodies shall be our weapons till we can better ourselves. Come. We must do this. My mind is still as sharp as it was in my old body."
His mind is indeed shapr and with his considerable mental prowess he begins to tear down the wards on the room.
Mikal sighs as he gets up again wearily, his voice as weak as his body.
"Both of us know that we have tried before to escape this prison and that Syrath drags us back here however far away we may get." He says and is silent for a few moments of contemplation, his voice taking solidity. "Perhaps though, the presence of other wolves will distract that bastard daemon enough, if it will satisfy you Marius, then I will help you as well."
Mikal also begins going about the cell and defacing the runes which keep them both here.
Tyranic Marta wrote:(ooc) We cant actually escape otherwise that'll make the event pointless, what about doing a mock fight for the event?
Yeah I was thinking the same thing, it was part of the reason why Mikal said that they had tried to escape before...it was to imply that this time it wouldn't work either...
But what do you mean a mock fight? Like between Marius and Mikal?
Tyranic Marta wrote:Like they now refuse to truly harm each other, so they act it out, ie marius lets Mikal beat him and then repairs his chassis Psykically later
Oh you mean like when they are forced to fight next?
Tyranic Marta wrote:good good, in that case I suggest we leave this for now and wait until the shas'o returns, alternatley we could do some more development?
I really like that fight, shows how Syrath can just break characters will without lifting a finger. And now we are going to see what Syrath does when he gets up and goes against our heroes with full force power....
Yeah, cos basically Mikal has just attacked him again cos hes being forced by Syrath, and Kais is about to dig his spear much deeper into Hunters neck...
Yeah, Syrath's really just a nasty piece of work. You know the kind of person that you meet in an ally way and asks you if you want to buy a copy of Star Wars: Episode 1 for 1.99, the kind of person you want to punch in the face because he wants you to watch such a crappy film.

Take it back...take it back right now...
Anyway...pffft...Shas, I'm not going to kill Mikal, that would be quite a waste...No, I have something far better planned...
No. Because Syrath conned you into buying it doesn't mean you have to be upset at me But you have interested me, also Shas Hunter was aboard the ship and probably had his troops aboard the ship with him.
blood reaper wrote:Its fine, when you have to wait for Marta since his posting time period is late for me (cept on weekends).
Yeah, I would like to wait for Marta to get something in before we take this up to the next notch...
Yeah, but Marta's posting time is almost ninja like , but he delivers great posts.
Its true...but the next thing Beltayn does is probably going to be big...so big in fact that it might just be enough to convince everyone to work together at least long enough to finally kill Syrath...
Or is the finale still too far away to do that? I figured we were getting closer to the end but i may be mistaken...:/
We have a bit, you may band together including the newly arrived Inqusitor who should follow the Daemons into the arena. And even if you band together in the arena Syrath may just unleash his pets, including a large amount of Tyranids enchanted by Haemonculi and Syrath's armies are currently invading the Web way and Commoragh. Now if you have read the DE: Codex you will find that their are far more DE than normal Eldar since they are never properly born, they are 'grown'. Also you will have to go through Syrath's factories and find a way to finally beat Syrath or make a deal with him.

No, no more deals...I will pull infinite amounts of Marta's, Ludias', and Marta's to see Syrath dead...its been too long, its been three separate RPS and he NEEDS to die now...
Syrath's one tough cookie (the guy has a pet Hive Tyrant named citizen Cane how carries a cane, badass) but Syrath will be difficult to defeat and will end in the deaths of some Characters and still it will be very difficult to do so.

That's fine with me, I'd sacrifice ever single character in this RP to kill him by this point...
And...you will find...that's exactly what I plan to do...
Syrath will put up one hell of a fight and will try to corrupt your characters (he has a good chance and I assure all players that one player will turn to Chaos, at a certain point all characters will give me a number from 1-20 and I'll roll a dice to see who's become Syrath's newest servant.
