After catching my cat in the sink, again, I'm wondering what strange things does your pet do? Here is a picture of it:

Your picture is broken.

Strangest thing my cat ever did was walk in front of our old gas fire, turned around to face myself, bro and mum who were all sat on the sofa's on the other side of the room and managed to stick his tail into the fire through the gap of the grill.

He then stayed there meowing at us with smoke coming off his tail because he thought we were tweeking the tip of his tail (my bro used to do it constantly to him when ever he stuck his tail up in the air) Dumb cat

I used to have a shih-tzu and and when he was a puppy, he loved going into our backyard to the point where he'd wait silently for someone to open a door to the backyard and then spring out that door when it had opened...

Anyway, as a puppy, the dog loved to roll down a small hill in the backyard. He would run to the top of the hill, lay down and roll back down it. He'd repeat this process, sometimes almost for an hour on end. I would often watch him confusedly not knowing whether he was trying to have fun or it was just some other instinct dogs have.

-shrugs- He stopped doing it when he got older, but that was the strangest thing I've ever seen any of my pets do.

My ferret thinks he is a professional wrestler. When he plays with his brother he often scales the side of the cage about 2 feet up and then does a back flip off landing on his brother.

My cat is a dead weight. Wherever she sleeps, if you need her moved, its going to be a pain in the ass. If you try moving her, she goes dead limp and it takes some doing pushing her off of things. She likes to lay at the end of our bed at night, an obviously is partially on either me or my wife, and if you try to move her so you can get comfy, she does that friggin thing again, where you pretty much have 2 choices, deal with her laying on you, OR shove her completely off the bed.

Its funny sometimes but other times its like damn kitty, MOVE!

Both my cats are terrified of trash bags. Just rattling one near them is enough to make them flee.

My cat for a while loved to play 'fetch.' She had a favorite toy that she would bat around the house. When she wanted to play, she would walk up and drop it in your lap then run down the hallway, crouch, and wait for you to throw it.

I learned to sleep with my hands under the covers because otherwise she would drop the toy into your hand and then bat at your fingers until you woke up and threw the thing.

My dog used to chase the fighter jets that flew overhead, doesn't help that those were the tomcats the navy was using.

We also had a German Shepherd who was like a guard dog, he could break panels of glass with his tail too. Anyways, he would bark at strangers unless they were in police uniform. Although if a robber broke in and had a flashlight, he would just look at the light and stare at wherever it was. One time we stood a flashlight up at the ceiling and turned it on, he stared at it for a full 30 minutes. Then whenever he went for a ride in the car he would always sit upright in one of the seats, we had to buckle him in just to keep him safe.

my dog Megan has OCD.

you can move a candle on the mantle two inches to the left, and the dog will pick it out instantly and bark at it. Anything at all in house which is "out of place" will freak her out...

some times its funny to mess with her, but usually we are like "get over it dog!"

My current roomie's cats are pretty strange. One will slip it's paw under the door and bat your ankles when you're using the bathroom or jump in the tub after anyone showers. Both of them are horrified of instruments of any kind for some reason too.

Our dog, a female Lab called Jaina, seems to have a bit of a self flagellating personalty.

When ever she has done something wrong, ie eaten something she shouldn't have, grabbed clothes she shouldn't have and generally occasional things which she has been taught as wrong. If you look at her with a certain raised eyebrow, show her the evidence, or use a certain tone with an accusatory 'whats this?' she immediately darts to her cage in the Kitchen and lies down until we call her out.

It's like a self inflicted taking the naughty step moment. Whats funny is, if she hasn't done anything wrong, and you just use the tone, she'll look at you mildly concerned, probably trying to figure what she has done.. but won't run off.

We used to send her to the cage when she was younger if naughty, but its just weird, funny, she goes herself now that shes older.

Lately she's also been taking pieces of Aurelia's clothing to where ever she is sleeping, doesn't chew them, just lies on them as if a comfort blanket.

My two shih tzus think they're cats, in that they will lay anywhere in the house they want. Their favorite spot is on the couch - but not normally on the couch. They'll jump up and sit right on top of the back couch cushions.

Other favorites: the little niche in the entertainment center (Which sits about 3 feet off the ground and holds a candle), inside paper bags from the grocery store, underneath the bed, in the gap between the entertainment center and the wall, and inside clothes baskets.

What gets really interesting to watch is when the one dog goes behind the entertainment center - he'll go in headfirst, get partway in, and then lift himself up on two paws to turn around in order to lay down.

My dog throws his toys into places he can't reach (or can reach but doesn't want to) and whines at us until we get the toy for him. He seems to think fetch works the other way around.

My old dog also ate a good part of a (plaster) wall once. My parents plastered u[ the wall using chilly powder because they heard the dog would leave it alone if the wall was spicy ...

Lets just say that dog must've loved curries... he went back to the wall with renewed vigour!

My two siberian huskies love to chase small animals. problem is we live right next to a small patch of woods AND a field so we get squirrels rabbits, you know normal woodland critters, and we also get field mice really bad. God forbid if you're in between them and any of the aforementioned creature. i still have scars from where they slammed me into the counter with enough force to crack it.

I have a black Labrador that does this with his ball. Constantly.

So. Annoying.

My dog has done what I refer to as the " I see nothing" bit since he was a puppy.
By this I mean he will stick his head into or under things ( my boots when he was a pup/ under the bed or a blanket now that he's grown) and go to sleep...
The rest of his body is clearly visable ..but his head..hidden.
...I think all the horror movies I watch have somehow traumatized him.

One of my dogs is scared of pretty much everything, chased him round the house and garden with a piece of paper once. One of my cats sings when you sing to her (joins in by meowing) and my other cat gives high fives.

one of my dogs will chase any light source coming from something your holding. its pretty funny.

my other dog lifts up his back leg when on his side when you get close. its very weird. he is the only dog ive ever seen do this. he seems to want you to pet him but if so why not just roll onto his back? why only give access to the one spot that we wont pet? crazy perverted dog.

he also chases my other dog when she chases lights.

We have a dog now who's a beagle/basset mix, and stands maybe about 1 and maybe a half tall, either way he's incredibly short. We have a stove that is about a foot across and a foot wide and stands 4 feet tall. One night we set a pot of boiled chicken on the backburner of the stove and headed off to church thinking it was safe, we go to evening mass. We come back and the pot is on the floor with not a single piece of chicken left, we also have two miniature dachshunds who probably helped him clean it out, but that's not the point. The thing is, he would've had to jump up onto the counter to get the pot down in the first place. We made him stand on his hind legs and when we did he could only get his front paws to the front top of the stove so it would be impossible for him to grab the pot from the floor.

He did the same to some chicken thawing in the sink too, same basic measurements that should've prevented him from getting to the chicken but he did.

My step bro used to have a red colored, longhaired dachsund that was afraid of round things. Specifcally round things...

He was fine with vaccum cleaners, even fire crackers and gunshots, but if you got a balloon, a beach ball, a pokeball...whatever, near him, the dog would run to the nearest bed and hide under it for the next half hour...

My doberman is deathly afraid of my cat, and since my cat is black, like my bed sheets, he blends in. When my cat is laying on the bed, he'll jump up (the doberman) , look closely, and if he's there, he'll run like hell.

My cat is weird too, he like to stick his tongue out a lot, just a little of his tongue. I'm often afrid he'll bite it or something.

My two dogs are both equally crazy... they're from the same litter, yet when she runs whining inside the house when there's a massive thunderstorm, he sits outside, completely oblivious to either rain or thunder or lightning. But he's not deaf... or maybe he is, we're not too sure

Also, we kept some fish for a family friend once, and they all jumped out one by one

My dad's cat will take a rubber bouncy ball to the top of the stairs, drop it and watch it bounce all the way down. the cat would then go get the ball, carry it back to the top of the stairs and drop it again. she would do this for hours on end sometimes.

I used to own a cat named Oracle. i would ask her for a prophecy and she would meow at me for like two minutes straight. could get her to do it almost every time

My dog, more when she was a puppy than now, when there's something in her water, will look it at it very intently, stare it down, and then proceed to stick her nose in her water and blow bubbles. When she was a puppy she'd do this for 15 minutes straight before drinking any of the water.

Also, we trained her to go to her kennel on command, and so when we had another dog living with us for a while(a Berger Picard/Blue Heeler that was... Insane), Isabelle, we would call for them to kennel and they would go from upstairs RACING downstairs to try and get into the kennel first, and you could just hear the yips and whines coming from Isabelle as she went down. Sometimes she would even sleep in there to ensure she got in first.

As well as that, Isabelle won't chase cars, but she will chase car's headlights reflecting on the ceiling. And she will chase light made by movies, basically anything that looks shiny. But usually not the object itself.

Most of my pets have been normal except for a dog who, as we left the house for a walk, hated walking to the right, we always had to walk her by taking the left hand turn out of the drive.

I had a Staffordhire Bull terrier who I could take out to the shops and the park by slinging her over my shoulder like a sack of spuds!

As well as her harness and lead she had a knotted rope which she would bite down on and never let go. I would pick up the other end of the rope and just pick her up.

I recently took care of my Aunt's dog which was left at my other Aunt's house down the shore for two days (confusing ain't it?)

I was the only one the dog terrorized in a friendly manner whenever she needed to go outside to poop. The strange thing about it was that she didn't want to poop all at once and pulled me around the entire neighborhood where she could launch her multiple, simultaneous, but not so defensive "deep strikes"

...the dachsund's name was Tupac...

...No, I'm not joking, my step bro was into Rap when the dog was born from another dachsun named Sneezer...that alone should count as strange...

Anyway, I distinctly remember having an argument with my cousin over whether Egypt was in Africa or not...(stupid? yes...but she was convinced this was not the case) I went to my room, got my globe and brought it out to show her...

Sure enough, Tupac, upon seeing the spherical object, hightailed it off of the couch and ran into my stebro's room and we didn't see him again until dinner that night...

Well don't go spouting on and on about it here, you know how the mods feel about derailing the conversation...

lets see, what oether things have my multiple pets done strangely?

My raterrier Zoey will chase her tail...

Not strange right? She does it for a few moments and then stops, looks around, does it again. Repeat process for about ten minutes at a time...she will do this so much she gets dizzy and falls over, sometimes she even gets sick because of it...

Thats something I don't understand about animals...they do some things that will hurt them physically over and over again...why?

Ooh, ooh, ooh, I know why he does it, because amphibians are attracted to flowing water, they're suckers for it. My firebelly toads used to all gather under the waterfall filter because they loved the feel of the water hitting their backs, that's how I would sneak a cage cleaning in, they'd be distracted by it, while I scoop up their poop and dead bugs, and do a 25% water change, every week, and they were none the wiser.

No, but, might I ask why you let your toad run all over your house? It's not safe for them, the soaps and chemicals used to clean your house are bad for them, even a small amount can prove harmful, even organic soap, not to mention that they have man, I mean many natural predators/enemies.

Well, you have internet access, so, that's saying something, and as someone whose spent most of their childhood in duprovki, russia, I know a thing or two about cleaning by hand.

But, yes, any soap of any kind can be harmful, so can any grease from food, etc.

He mustn't be afraid of you then, many toads develope courage, and aren't afraid of humans. Reminds me of the pixie frog they used to have at the pet store, he wasn't afraid of anyone, and he'd try to bite people, he had these tiny teeth that were sharp, and he'd eat mice. Poor thing, nobody either wanted him or had the money to buy him( I had just came to this country at the time, and didn't have money to spare). The owner eventually took him home.

I have a trio of Hungarian Vizlas. Randomly, with no warning, and at no recurring times, they'll all just start running around the house, in circles, round and round objects, from one room to the other, outside, inside, up and down the stairs. They never knock anything over, never cause a mess, and never bump into anything solid, which is why the glass patio door is great fun.

Mmm...strange things...where to begin.

*Rodney likes to eat dead rotting corpses. He particularly likes trying to eat an entire squirrel corpse in NOMNOMNOM machine gun like fashion. He'll even lick the desiccated corpses of last year's worms off the sidewalk.
*Rodney likes to jump up on the table, any table, like a cat. If caught in the act he will utterly freeze and do the "this is not the wiener dog you are looking for" routine.
*Rodney likes to lick other dogs in the face. As his breath smells the bad side of the back of a fish market other dogs recoil in horror.
*Rodney likes to be licked all over like a baby puppy. When he's done he will start kicking the other dog in the face.
*Rodney had a fight with a lawn chair once and lost.
*Rodney gets trapped in a blanket about once a month and can't get out.
*If you make "WOO WOO" noises when Rodney is on the sofa, he will try to dig through the cushion to safety.
*Rodney yodels when someone plays the marumba.
*Rodney will try to help you drive, even so much as standing with his paws on the steering wheel while you're driving.
*Rodney doesn’t like boys or wheels. If you come into the house he will waddle near you. When you aren’t looking he will bite the &*^* out of your leg. I have confirmed GC is free to date any boy that Rodney likes. If Rodney doesn't like them, Mr. Kimber doesn't like them.

*TBone forgets where he's at. When he is visiting the big yard in Houston he will get lost in the middle of the back yard and Rusty will have to go get him and shepherd him back.
*When excited (like a loud noise or sudden movement) his first reaction is to run and attack Rodney. One time I was chasing Rodney about (trying to teach a former stray how to play is difficult) and TBone leaped on his back and rode him bullrider style for the complete 8 count.
*TBone can’t see well, yet if he hears a squirrel he will sit underneath and just wait. We had the squirrel once climb across and come down next to him, foraging (like within 5 feet). TBone never noticed, just kept staring up.
*TBone will eat mentos but not onions.
*If you mess with him he will walk right up and pee on you.
*TBone likes to go for household trash baskets. Unfortunately sometimes the basket wins and he ends ass up in it and can’t get out.
*TBone is ball retrieving OCD. I stopped counting after 119 times in a row. Seriously, my arm was sore for three days.

I had a pit bull that crushed a brass door knob, the bottom part of a door, and a door frame (all at different times).

EDIT: You sure he didn't secret the PS3 to a hideout where he and his dog buddies are playing as we speak?

That is a common problem. Is shorty overweight? Getting them back to fighting trim is often a really good thing for their backs.

Once had a cat who liked to jump up on certain visitor's laps and then burrow her head into their armpit like crazy.

And, another, really dumb and fat one who would sit on a window sill too narrow for him, fall asleep, fall off while asleep, look shocked and confused.. then immediately get up again and repeat the cycle over and over.. usually about once every 20 minutes for several hours.

Not mine, but a mate's cat used to like sushi.

Wasn't so keen on the wasabi thoug (would try and push at the ground to try and get the taste out of his mouth).

Didn't stop him coming back for more, though (and repeating the 'push bad taste out of mouth' thing.

Here we go:

My dog sometimes stands there licking nothing, not his lips or anything, just air, Its one of the funniest things ever.

He also thinks that he is a pig, he snorts like one, smells like one, and eats like one.

When he sits he also keeps his two bottom feet to one side and he latys down like he a bear mat. He sneezes after he is upside down, every single time. Even if he is running and falls over and rolls really fast he will simply sneeze, it happens every time, the funniest is when he wants you to scratch his stomach andd he sneezes in your face.

This is very discusting (I have warned you) He eats my guinea pic left over... ....yanno.... .....droppings.

He eat flies mosquitoes, grasshoppes, or any other insects.

He watches the tv with us, and is actually intersested the whole time.

He gets really irritaed if you daeth stare him, he starts to whine and wimper untill you look away.

Well thats my very strange dog.

My cat tries to eat anything that is crinkly, and usually throws it up on a rug for me to clean up in the morning...every morning.

My wife's cat hunts our 3 pound chihuahua on a regular basis, and there is nothing playful about it. They have become arch enemies and one day I wouldn't be to surprised to find one of them dead.

The chihuahua holds her own against the cat BTW, she may be much smaller but she opens up a can on that cat when the gak hits the fan!

My other cat (3rd cat) is 24 pounds or so of dry cat food lovin! He will only eat dry cat food, but when he never purrs until he starts eating, but when he does you can hear him from across the house. He will probably die of a heart attack, but I would gladly die young to be able to enjoy anything in life half as much as he enjoys his dry cat food!

The only thing funny about my pit bull is the gas that would make a horsefly gag.

My cat Bean flushes the toilet if we're not fulfilling her demands fast enough. She also figured out how to open the sliding lock on the pet door to downstairs. We had to banish them down there at night because bean would be like 'it's 3 am, lets all play' and proceed to climb the walls, walk on you, and if none of that worked, flushy flushy.

My other cat Lucy gets pretty kooky about trays of strawberries fresh from the grocery store - rubbing her cheeks and rolling around on them.

Well for starters my cat knocks on the door to get in. Dad installed a cat flap on the back door but now he just knocks on the front door, he sits on the containter that holds his food apoarently guarding it and will also attack you if your any more then a few minutes late in feeding him (ravonous little bastard.) and if you even dare sit on his part of the couch he tears your arm to shreads. He also does this strange thing where if you scratch him in exactly the right place he will lick himself uncontrollably.

My dog which is a kelpie/staffie cross (so not a small dog) will sometimes sleep on the back of the couch, legs hanging over each side and also has a thing for chewing on cd/dvds left within paw reach.

Now this comes as no great surpise to me and my family because we're all a little nuts.

My dog can't sleep unless he's underneath a bedsheet/blanket. Literally, can't do it. One time I had the bedsheet tossed at the foot of the bed because it was too hot, and I woke up with him at the head of the bed with his head shoved underneath my pillow. He was asleep like that.

He also has an obnoxious fascination with licking hands/feet. It gets to the point that I can't walk around barefoot and sit somewhere for any period of time.

One of my Spiders, Mercutian (Yeah I know), is terrified of the Dreadnought model. If it's any other model he'll come and poke and prod it to his heart's content, but put down a Dreadnought and bam! He's outta there in a flash.

The teacup poodle we had as a kid used to like to play fetch, once. He would bring you the ball for you to throw, then he would run after it, grab it and then hide to chew on it. If you tried to get it he'd bite you. If he left it and saw you reaching for it he'd charge you (funny him being under a foot tall and maybe 4 pounds all together) and guard it. Then an hour or so later he'd cheerfully prance over and drop the ball at your feet for another toss.

Hunny Bear used to nudge the door to the garbage open with her nose. She would smack it once, smack it twice, slightly opening it, and keep on bonking it with her nose until she could get her face in the side, open the door, and feast on the garbage.

We once came home from school and Tania, our younger dog who is still with us, somehow got on the top of the table, and couldn't figure out how to get back down. It was especially funny, as the table was right in front of the door up a few stairs, so we walked in and immediately saw our golden retriever looking down at us from the top of the table
