I have not caught Supes yet.

I was definitely much much better than I expected. The lead gives off a very Smallville-esque Clark turned Supes. A dude that ENJOYS being Superman even with all the stuff that comes with it. I liked Cavill's portrayal because that was the portrayal the director was going for but I enjoyed this one far more than Man of Steel.

Both Thunderbolts and Superman deserved to do better. Or would have done better pre-pandemic. These days not-bombing-too-badly is a measure of success.

Sadly I had to watch Superman on the small screen since they decided (for some reason) to give it a super short theater run.

I'm sure it would've been better on an Imax or something... but it was a decent movie... it felt like there was a little too much at times.

It's actually still in theaters here. Not sure why yours dropped it so fast.

Tom Holland Suffers Concussion On ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Set, Will Return To Filming Soon - Deadline

Filming has halted on Spider-Man: Brand New Day after Tom Holland was hospitalized amid filming on the Glasgow set.

Deadline can confirm filming was suspended Friday as the actor was treated for a mild concussion, and a source close to production says he will take a break “out of precaution” but is expected to return to filming in a few days.

The risk assessment was obviously carried out by a Glaswegian.

Marvel Zombies is up on Disney+.

It’s quite satisfyingly gory for a cartoon. Of course, if you’re burned out on Marvel and/or Zombies its appeal will of course be limited. But I’ve really enjoyed its nonsense.

Oh, I saw that in the coming soon section last week. Didn't know it was this soon. I guess I know what to watch after Alien Earth tonight.

I finally started watching X-men '97 and damn, the first two Magneto episodes go hard and speak to the potential power of the X-men as a modern franchise.

Probably the best thing about that TV show.

Edit: All though, I really did love seeing how it had subtle differences because the main character and focus was black, but eventually it just devolved into the usual WB style Superhero stuff.

Finished Zombies. Only about a two hour run time across all the episodes so fair brief. Quite enjoyed it, and the “fun” AU story means almost no one has plot armor so you get lots of good gory deaths. Ending is alright, could be a hook for another season, or could be left as is for a mystery ending.

It's billed as a miniseries so maybe not?

It's certainly a bold choice to end on and honestly I thought the whole thing was great.

Only 1 episode into Marvel Zombies and thought it was a bit strange that its 4 episodes but apparently it was supposed to be a 2 hour movie until Sony said no if you're using Spiderman it can't be a movie so they split it into a 4 part mini series.

If it ends where it ended, I’m alright with that. It’s a good classic horror trope ending. If they decide to make more, I would watch it. Will say I was surprised we
Spoiler:
didn’t see Riri come back sooner. Since she injected herself with a Potential cure and then we didn’t See her die, I’d assumed the whole time she was still alive and we’d get her back eventually.

That makes sense. It still works quite well as a four parter.

I liked Marvel Zombies for the most part. A good few bits of it are just silly fun. It wasn't as good as it might have been, for two no doubt very subjective reasons.

Spoiler:
First, Riri. She's been in What If and I didn't care one way or another at the time. But since Ironheart I actively dislike her. Seeing her in the initial group of survivors dampened my enjoyment a good bit. I've only started enjoying the show after she was gone, but quite a lot almost immediately.

Second, the big fist fight for the fate of the world/galaxy/universe/multiverse/insert pretext here. It's just not my thing. I guess it's something plenty of people like and want to see considering it happens basically every time, and good for people who like it. It just doesn't do anything for me. I think something more interesting could have been done with that time.

Overall enjoyable, though. If we got more like it, I wouldn't complain.

Was able to start Thunderbolts the night before last because the wife and littles were out of town. I haven't made it far, but DAMN did they job Taskmaster.

And I've discovered a hack for Hollywood: if you ever want to make a female character completely insufferable, just cast Julia Louise Dreyfuss...

That's literally always been her job. She's very good at it.

I gave Moon Knight another watch last night after I wasn't terribly thrilled with it the first time around. It's a little less tedious knowing the story. I could appreciate a few bits more without that distraction, especially the funny bits. But much like She-Hulk the bits that I don't enjoy still stand out too much for my liking. Which makes it only an okay show for me.

She just ruins the Contessa though. How they went from sexy Italian super-spy to Elaine, I'll never understand.

I finished X-men '97 and look forward to another season.... it we ever get one. Nice to see a few cameos from other Marvel heroes in there too.

Overall, it went pretty hard but overstayed its welcome about 2 episodes or so.

Looks meta, and last time they went Meta it did not work that well at all.

However, I do like that they are embracing the "do other genres but put Supers in them". Hollywood does love movies and shows about itself.

Typically, trailers for MCU TV Shows tend to only feature bits from the first episode.

So typically it’s more about “this is the tone we’re going for” than hitting at the overall plot.

Ryan Coogler Confirms ‘Black Panther 3’ Is His “Next Movie” - Deadline

After ridding the Mississippi Delta of vampires (and a few Klansmen) with Sinners, Ryan Coogler is ready to get back to Wakanda.

While speaking onstage Saturday during the Sinners panel at Deadline’s Contenders Film: Los Angeles, the two-time Oscar nominee confirmed to Deadline’s Mike Fleming Jr. that Black Panther 3 is his “next movie” as he is hard at work completing the MCU trilogy that kicked off with Chadwick Boseman in 2018.

“If it was anybody but you, I would say, ‘I can neither confirm or deny,'” teased Coogler. “But we’re working on it hard. … Yeah, it’s the next movie.”

I saw the new Fantasic Four flick and put my thoughts in the mini-review thread.

However, I will say the following bullet points:

1. First 30 minutes were tough
2. Thunderbolts was a better Movie
3. Incredibles did it better
4. Overall, I liked it but it took a while to get moving but it grew on me as I went along
