The painting is VERY VERY good but where did you get the head from? is it a modded ork head?

Post by: Tortured-Robot
heh, well spotted, its a mix of ork, chaosmarine and greenstuff. Thanks for the comments.

Hail!
Well I made 2 more... wow if I make another thats a squad!
These seem to have a nurgle feel to them, which is always a good thing. Sorry about some of the photos, no idea what happened.
Here is the first guy,
Second guy,
Nurgle together, why not!
.... and how about the full progress! apart from the bases!
Thanks for looking.

Morning, I'm up to five! No paint however, bad times.
Havoc with a missile launcher made from a Slaanesh Champion..... well thats what is said on his base tab, sensual Flyman anyone?
Flies are surely a nurgle thing but here we go!
Thanks!

Threw a bit of paint on the Fly with the rocket, struggled a bit with him to be honest, he is just about there.
Anyway here is the progress, tried my hand at a bit of freehand on his pad, but luckily its mostly coverd by the launcher I'll finish off his base and move on to number 6!
Thanks/

Thanks LordofMuck, don’t worry there will be more
Just to add a little fun I'm thinking about using the old slaves to darkness book for some of my models….
As I'm sure you’re aware, this book has an awesome section on random mutations, mutations from the fantastic to the down right silly! So for my next marine I think I’ll throw him at the mercy of these charts…. Lets hope I don’t roll “silly voice” mutation!!
Lets see what happens.....

Thanks! yea that one is my favourite so far too, cant beat those old school sculpts!
Okay so I’m giving the random personal attribute table from Slaves to darkness a go. So let fate decide my next Marine.
I rolled 3 times in the end, rolling a d1000 I got-
887 – Teleport (I decided to roll again)
866 – Technology – (84) – Chainsword (I decided to roll again)
837 – Skull face.
I stopped there; I thought that was enough to go on! All 800’s!
If you can check out the table, it is a good read. It is online somewhere…
Thanks!

Hey, nice stuff here TR, great to see some of your work again. Love that first guy with the vomit-standard, lovely job on the head.
Cool to see some more old-skool stuff being used too, and love that you're rolling on the classic d1000 table, takes me back to being a teen

Hey thanks monkeytroll, well spotted about the first guy, didnt know how it came out on camera!
I've finished converting the first of the randomly rolled marines (with only a slight bit of cheating, teleport was to hard!).
I kind of went a bit over the top on the Skullface roll and made him a bit more undeady, and raided an ork sprue for his chain sword arm. I spent far to long on his head and I dont know how it looks on film, still you may get a better idea when he is painted up!
Thanks for looking!

Hello again!
I've painted up the undeadish looking guy,
Not the best photos, but you get the idea!
Cheated a little on my next marine, I didnt use the random gift chart, but I just like the model, here is the guy for the painting table!

Thanks! and hopefully you will see more!!
At the moment I'm painting the pink horror headed marine, before rolling another random marine, fun time ahead!!
I am aproaching enough marines done to try something a little bit fun. I love Vindicator tanks so using these parts below I may have a play after I have made a few more marines
Vindicator, hell cannon bits and a beast of nurgle- I'm thinking of some twist daemon infested thing.
I'm nearly ready to put an order into to GW, I'm after a spray varnish, can anyone recommend a UK brand? Is the GW varnish any goo?
Thanks for looking.

I finished painting the Tzeentch Icon Bearer, however I think i'll mess about with the blue hand and tail, not happy with it yet.

Okay time to roll up another renegade! Get your copies/print out/photocopies (depending on take on copyright ) of slaves to darkness and your D1000 handy! I think about 3 rolls is enough, but there is no set rules, if he is odd enough after one or two goes I'm happy haha.
Roll 1 - 337, Enormously Fat
Roll 2 - 647, Moronic
Roll 3 - 697, Overgrown body part - Hand
A fat, stupid big handed Spacemarine..... the dice have spoken haha
Automatically Appended Next Post:
Hey,
I had a free afternoon so I attempted the big handed fat stupid marine, pictures below!
It may make more sense when painted, not sure how it comes across on camera. I used the stupidest looking zombie head and added fattness - I thought it needed some thing more so I grafted a nurgling to his shoulder to give him advice on who to shoot.... being Moronic and all!!
I failed with the hand to be honest, doesnt look any bigger haha!.. well 2 out of 3 isnt to bad!
Thanks for looking.

Taking tactical advice from a nurgling? Think you got the moronic part nailed alright
I was wondering about the hand, figured you'd used the extras on the backpack to kind of fulfill that.

I was going to redone his hand, but you maybe right, he has extras to make up for it.

Hey thanks for that! I'm liking the random generated marines, it means i have to think less which is always a bonus! haha
No picture updates yet, I'm still painting the marine taking advice from the nurgling. I have decided I love Raptors!! This is mainly due to I accidently won 30 Raptor jump packs instead of the 10 i wanted haha, so expect some work on flying freaks in the next marine or so!

Hey thanks for the kind words! however its not me coming up with it, the dice decide!
A little update, I rolled up another Renegade and converted him tonight, rolls where -
Roll 1 - 388 = Fangs
Roll 2 - 196 = Blood Rage (I decided to roll a 3rd time as he wasnt that interesting)
Roll 3 - 813 = Shrink - Half Size (I stopped here).
Haha, the dice have spoken, a short angry fanged nutter!
I jumped right into making this guy, looking through my bits box I found a really old Chaos Dwarf, it was a stroke of luck that the model already had fangs. I was a bit unsure of how to show blood rage, but then I thought dwarves are angry enough right? ... I gave him a khorne berzerker Chain axe just to be sure!!
Pics below
Thanks for looking

I've just about finished the angry dwarf, I'm still looking in to spray varnish, does anyone have any advice which is the best to get? Is gw varnish any good?

I cracked up when I saw that! I can see him being completely raging on the knees of an Ultramarine.
I have to say the RT feel of this thread is a welcomed departure from most of the stuff I am following. I enjoy the newer stuff as much as I can, but the game I came up with and really enjoyed the most was 15-20 years ago.
Thanks for doing this thread, I'm really enjoying it a lot.

haha, thanks for that, yea I am a bit oldschool it seems
I rolled up another marine and did some modelling, this one was a nightmare haha!!
Roll 1 - 873 = Technology - shuriken catapult -Hrm, roll again
Roll 2 - 988 = "invent your own" - Decided to roll again as I wanted random haha
Roll 3 - 822 = Siamese Twin - haha bingo....
This is the second attempt below, I tried making it out of plastic marines, and it looked well .... wrong, I'll wait to see what this is like painted before I'll know if I'll keep it.

Thanks, it was a tough model to paint, without sounding crass, I couldnt get the boobs right.
Skalk Bloodaxe wrote:That came out great! Man this thread reminds me of reading White Dwarf magazines that only have double digits on the issue number : )
Thanks for your continued support! I really wish I had your energy for completing models!! Your zombie cultists are great.
After what seemed a mile stone of getting the evil twins painted I had a bit of a modeling night, however I broke my rule of build one paint one! .
First up is the Khorne unit Champion, I just love this old model so he wasnt rolled up using the tables, pics-
I then decide to make inroads into the Havoc squad so I rolled up and made 2 more marines -
First Havoc -
Roll 1 - 919 = Tentacle - one arm
Roll 2 - 344 = Enormous Noise (hrm, best give him the autocannon... dakka dakka)
Roll 3 - 977= Zoological Mutation - head - Snake
So a noisey, Tentacley Snakey thing, cool - this is what I came up with, pics.
Even though I kind of promised not to use the standard Chaos Marine mutation sprue, the tentacle did kind of fit well, however I made it a bit longer so it looks like its gripping the cannon.
Enormous noise? errr he Hisssses alot?
Second one up -
Roll 1 - 618 = Massive Intellect
Roll 2 - 285 = Cowardice
Roll 3 - 538 = Levitation.
Haha, what oddball rolls, however I decided to stick with them, The dice have Spoken!! Being very clever I decided to make this guy the havoc unit champion, pics -
haha, I really like this guy, he is the typical villian, super evil genius- yet cowardly, when the going gets tough (i guess he just floats off?). Okay for Massive Intellect I gave him a cone head to house all the extra brains, plus books! books means smarts right? I used some empire model I had in my bit box off some reason, I have no idea what this model was to start with. A slight bent of the feet hopefully did the levitation justice! What super genius wouldnt be complete without a flying turbine driven book stand? (okay was getting late at this point, not totally sure what the thinking was with this haha)
Thanks for looking, I have loads of painting to look forward too haha!

Wow... just saw this and I really like it, especially the idea of rolling up for various mutations- just one is never enough!. And if I might be so bold, I'd like to suggest the Vindicator, since you've already got some parts going toward it. On the other hand, it'd be interesting to see what you can do for a dreadnought. But just to be clear, you will be rolling for the vehicles too? Because that would be pretty super cool for you to do that, you know.

Thats an interesting idea rolling up vehicles too, I'm not quite sure how that would end up as the tables I have are intended for champions, I have an idea in my head for the vindicator, (I may uploads a sketch) but thats something worth thinking about, thanks for the input!

I don't think you paint slowly. It's more to do with becoming overwhelmed. I'll be posting an example of that on my Cultist thread a little later. I've built myself into a corner and it's going to take me a loooong time to catch up.

I hear what your saying, I don't want to get ahead of myself too much or this project will turn into a chore. I must admit I do get a bit side tracked,on one hand I want to actually start playing again, so I'm trying to complete units; but on the other hand this blog is mainly about enjoying the models so I don't care what I make!

Hey there,
thanks Skalk, Knightley,Wolf_Ov_The_Void and LordofMuck, its always good for feedback and to hear kind words!
medabee wrote:How did you accomplish the glow effect on t the blue plasma guy.
Its just a simplified version of source lighting, I just gave it a little go. You just basically over paint an area which you want to generate light then highlight where you think the light will fall with that colour. I believe all I used was necron abyss and skull white.
Viktor von Domm wrote:very good squad mate! and i wouldn´t worry redoing the bases rims... i think gaveyard earth works for them... the yelling green some peeps do use for the bases are not working, but subdued colors i think are quite fresh!
Okay, I'll stick with it for now, I was thinking maybe a black to kind of frame the models and the bases. But I may just be making more owrk for myself. Thanks for the support!
I had a bit more of a painting effort- I managed to finish of the snake autocannoneer.
When I was making him I didnt realise how hard it would be to paint him, getting the right colour in all parts of the model was tricky due to snake and tentacle bits in the way.... anyway less moaning, pics! -
thanks for looking.

Tortured Robot, I love your work!
There is such a RT feeling around your models, remembering that chaos is often grotesque, like in Moorcock's books and the early GW concepts of chaos in WHFB AND 40K.
BTW this snake head reminds me of something...is it from the Great unclean one's tongue?

Hey there, thanks! moorcocks books? hrm i may have to check that out - the snake head I believe was from a jungle swarm, I dont own a GUO....yet!
Rolled up one more Marine, 2 more and I'll have 2 squads!
Roll 1 - 492 = Hunchback
Roll 2 - 160 = bestial face - Goat
Roll 3 - 603= Mane of Hair
Hairy Hunchback Goat - awesome, think He'll get the missile launcher!

This is amazing! I salute you for using the old Lost and Damned random mutations generator. There was something similar in the old Ere We Go book; it was great fun but a nightmare for modelling. I do miss the madness and individuality of those old lists though. Your bits box must be enormous to pull this off!

Thanks!! To be honest I'm not totally sure about the books, I have just come by them over time, I think the one of the flying book stand was from a priest of sigmar? after than I'm not sure sorry!

Hahaha, well the dice have spoken, I have rolled up another, it may be more to your liking -
Roll 1 - 033= Beaked
Roll 2 - 496 = Hypnotic Gaze
Roll 3 - 293 = Crossbread Gaint Frog.
So thats one to look forward to haha.

Hey there, thanks for that- My bitz box is a nightmare of old fail projects and miss spent money So prefect for this!! I do hawk ebay of the bit'o bits bargin tho.

I meant "easy" comparatively speaking... I know you'll create some sort of horrifically mutated madness that will do complete justice to the model.

Skalk Bloodaxe wrote:I meant "easy" comparatively speaking... I know you'll create some sort of horrifically mutated madness that will do complete justice to the model.
Hehe, that said, you did make me re-do the hunchback- It didnt look horrifically mutated enough, so it got binned and restarted.
Hey all, just a bit of an update, I've finished the Hunchback Goat and the Evil Frog, pics-
As said above, this was the second attempt at the Hunchback, the first was boring. I bastardised a black orks body with a goats head and fur - it still wasnt quite there so I took far to much time greenstuffing his face and neck to look a little more "horrifically mutated" . I'm not sure you can make much of whats going on with these two, hopefully the painting will bring it out.
As promised I have started my Dread- I hope to show a few more wips to document my odd thinking. Anyway... here goes -
I started with a plain Chaos Dread, I had started putting a few bits together but like I said in previous posts, I was quite inspired by Skalks Definer he currently has going on (check it out), and I liked the whole trapped daemon look. I'm glad I didnt pay much for this because- as shown I cut the sacoughagus in 3 parts which was strangely easier than expected. I had made some sort of banner but I decided to change it, I'll fashion a new improved version from a Hellcannon wheel.
Okay this is where I'm up to, my trapped daemon started life as Gobbla squig- onwards and upwards for him then! I cut his back tail off, (which was strangely harder than expected) that isnt the final position of the head, I've just pushed it in there for the photo- I'm feeling a more hunchback look. Oh yea the whirly bit from a SAG? I really like the three globe bits- I'm thinking of pinning them somehow to Gobblas neck, the idea was to paint them to look like them contain some odd liquid that does something daemony!
Heh, thats it for now, thanks for looking.

Hello again, I really wanted to try out what I had in mind for the dreads head- I had a little late night modelling fun, pics-

This is an excellent thread, I love the models back in the RT days. I played a game of rogue trader a months ago with a friend of mine at my flgs, he still has the big book with all the army lists in and the rules. It's quite alot different from 5th Edition but it was very entertaining and nice to know where this game started out. Anyway your stuff looks so fantastic, I want to mutate my renegade guard now.

@ninja13 - hey there! thanks for your comments - Please do mutate your guard! I love to see what others come up with.
@I33tninj4 - Welcome! Not all the goofy old models should be saved, some are just terrible, yet some I find are timeless and still relevant.
@genom.cor - I'm not totally sure myself what is going on, after some more cutting and hacking- a ton of greenstuff and some paint I hope it makes some sense!
Okay, I had a little free time so here is a small update, pic-
After some umming and arring I decided to go with a more daemony looking arm- this will need a load of green stuff!
thanks for looking

@Viktor von Domm- That is evil, what the heck is that thing??!
Hey, at the moment I'm painting up the two havocs to complete the squad. I've also been playing with the right dread arm -
I fitted a heavy flamer and some smoke launchers. No idea where the claw is from, it was in two bits, I'm not sure its ment to be one claw, but it looks okay so I'll keep it.
I've also been playing with some ideas for his banner-
No idea where the Globey bit is from, it looks simular to the SAG bits so i guess its from some old ork thingy. Anyway I thought it kind of looks like some odd chaos clock thing, just having a play with bits so far.
Thanks for looking.

Not that 'spikey Ultramrines' are doing it wrong per se, just a shame that the CSM range seems focussed on this trope with the freaky stuff like Possessed, Obliterators etc hanging on the periphery.

Every time I see that you've updated this thread I actually get excited to see what you've done, and man I have got to tell you (even though I keep saying the same thing over and over), you put more true Chaos into your Chaos Marines than anyone else on Dakka I've seen yet. You are in a very elite class of converters, and I'm not just saying that because compliments are cheap and easy to hand out, I really mean it. This goes way beyond "wow, cool model". Between you and Llamahead I've reconsidered how I convert my models and I'm taking a new approach to how I do Chaos conversions ( CSM and Cultists) in the future. The overall style will still be my own, but the inspiration is due in large part to work I have seen here.
I'm subbed to a lot of threads and I enjoy them all for what they are, but this thread is like reading through The Lost and the Damned all over again. It is what Rogue Trader was all about for me. The fluff and the background of the universe GW -outright stole from other people and marginally changed to narrowly avoid IP lawsuits- created was dark and chaotic and mutated (even "normal" things in the Imperium like Space Marines, Adeptus Mechanics, average Hivers, etc). These models really speak of that time, really connect the "now" to the "what once was", and you have yet to do anything that looks rushed or "good enough".
Stunning work as always.

Haha, Praise be the ruinous powers!! Thanks for your comments.
Okay!
Seems a while since I updated- I did run into my first minor hitch of this project- Living up to his gift, the Evil Frog decided to leap from my workbench, upon his landing he thought he no longer required the use of his feet, or his base. Anyway after some brutal drilling and pinning, I persuaded him otherwise.
I have finished converting the Dread - as mentioned I will be painting him in about 5 pieces, I'll put up some pictures of him when the greenstuff is cured.
I also had a little painting efforts pics-
I have spotted some parts of him I dont like/have missed painting, so I'll do a bit more to him. I also may either file down, or green stuff him some ankle jeweley to hide the breaks .
Anyway
Thanks for looking!

This blog is frustratingly good! Good as in the quality and inventiveness of your models is amazing. Frustrating as it makes me want to root around for my old chaos marines and try to imitate it. It is hard enough to focus on one army as it is without tempting blogs like this around!
Out of interest, what do you plan to use it as on the battlefield? The army looks very old style chaos renegades to me but you don't seem to see those about much nowadays.

The work you have done here is stunning and if you look back over the time passed since you started and compare to the staggering amount of quality work done on this, you'll have a fantastic looking tabletop-ready army in a few months at most.

I recall being slightly too young to join in but able to watch (aslong as I didnt touch ) games like chaos warbands.... one memory I clearly remember chuckling in delight as a nearly unstoppable Chaos warrior took a Bolter round to the head and died ( in fantasy this is a big deal).

I had some grand title for him like "The Wyrm of......etc etc etc" and for his skin colour scheme I was following an old picture of some fancy Wyrm/dragon. He was ment to be a Dark fleshy purple but the more I highlighted he turned pink, lol.

No, actually. There was an Akita that showed up in the animal shelter I was working at, and he was just the best dog in the world. No words to describe him. We called him sanchez. This is just a picture of an akita that looks kind of like him. Sanchez was adopted to a loving home, as far as I know.
Akita and German shepherd? That sounds like the perfect dog

Disturbing? My Avatar? Come on, it's a gift from Skalk (who owns one of the biggest collection of Nurgle CSMs and mutants I know), it can't be disturbing!

Still looking wonderful in pink
The purplish-wyrmy colour you described is exactly what I thought you were doing with him, but I agree the pink works very well. Perhaps a very thin purple glaze over the arm if you wanted to tone it back a tad?
Lovely new bunch, I'm particularly fond of the flail-wielding slaaneshi.
Those old Tzeentch guys were wonderful, another lot I really regret picking up at the time. However, I did bag multiples of the jezzail and sword dude, I'll have a scout about over the weekend as I believe I still have a couple untouched.

Back on topic- Those new models are amazing. I really like the intent / theme behind them. I continue to bow before your absolute mastery of all things Chaos. When Arihman finally assaults the Black Library he's going to find a very lengthy tome written by you.

Thanks viktor- the base colour is grey for everthing, hopefully this will tie them all together. I was playing about with names and I thought I'd call them the 'grey death legion', however this did sound a bit familiar- it took a while to remember I stole it from battle tech- so they remain unnamed haha.

Grey death legion sounds a little stereotypical doesn't it? How about being a little more poetic? Ash is grey and it has that charm of fiery decomposition. Idk children of (the) ash(es)? Their warcry could be "Ashes to ashes, dust to dust!" Would be great for a nurgle themed warband...

Well, TR, it's a gamble when you gloss something as there's no going back. In general though, on things that are supposed to be glassy or shiny I've found that makes the highlights come much more naturally because they are honest highlights off the gloss surface. I've lost count of the times I've gotten compliments for my highlights when what people were actually seeing were the natural highlights.

Hey, had a quiet night, been filling forums with words and.... painting!!
I firsted 2 of the new batch, pics -
Always wanted to paint his guy, and now I have!! Wanted to maybe make him a bit more colourful, but also wanted him still to fit in. Havent decided if he is a plasma gunner, or a unit champ.
Next -
Really like this old marine, typical goofy looking model but has something about it - yes one leg appears to be 50% longer than the other, yes his torso appears to be about the same size as his boot, but I like it never the less!
both together? why not -
thanks for looking, happy paintings!!!

Just occurred to me... are you going to add vehicles? If you are, you know it has to be the MK1 Rhino and the old Land Raider... so start saving your pennies (pence?) and check eBay, they show up with a decent frequency but are not cheap (unless they are horrifically ruined messes).

@Skalk Bloodaxe - if you look on page 2 (I think) I have the bits to make a vindicator, I'm just scared to put the time in to make it in case GW take them off us in the codex update . That said I am after the latest landraider version as I do love the model - and I never had one! Can't be paying £41 tho lol. Automatically Appended Next Post: @RSJake- I don't mind a challenge haha. Well well well, now there is a question. I dont like thinking too far ahead but, here is the brief idea of what I'll be doing. -
1. Making the current squad I'm working on up to 10 marines.
2. Building a second Dreadnaught with big rusty smasher Claws.
3. Making 5 more havocs so I have a squad of 4 rockets and 4 auto cannons
4. Making use of the 30 oop Raptor jump packs I have......
5. Some sort of HQ unit.
In what order, im ot sure, but thats the plan haha.

I have also been playing about with the idea of Raptors, I found this old havoc model, dont know why, he just felt raptory? pic-
I know I didnt do much to him but I didnt think he needed it.

Khorne guy looks cool, it would only have been OTT if you'd covered the entire model, splattering just one half shows considerable restraint
Raptor guy does sem to go with the raptor-pack so all good there.
Jezzail dude looking good - that's actually one of the few mini's I started painting without converting at all as I liked the original so much. But I still have another for choppy-cutty duties
23897
Post by: Scarper
Looks great! I actually thought the blood splats were a subtle weathering effect, like areas of rust and overuse. Works well either way though! The bone effect on the horns is stunning. Love what you're doing with these guys - I've never seen so much potential in the older models as you seem to bring out in them!
8745
Post by: Llamahead
Your right the Havoc does go with the pack. I think it's the contrast between the straight lines and the curve combined with the elongated head which make it work. The Jezzail guy is good and the Khorne bloke looks like an utter nutter. Hmm that might be an interesting idea for a posessed squad combining the daemon bitz and the posessed bitz together for a posessed squad for a specific God.

@ Gitsplitta - Yea, really like that last one, think it'll not be long before I paint that guy.
@ SelvaggioSaky - Hey there, thanks mate- I put both his sides in the pictures so you get the idea from the blood splats to the normal armour.
@ Moltar - Thanks! I will try too haha.
@ monkeytroll - Half covered in gore is okay? I'll remember that! I was unsure if to chop the Jezzail guy as I do love the orignal model, but he had to fit in so....choppy choppy!!
@ Scarper - Hey there, thanks - Blood splats/rust as long as it looks okay it'll do for me haha.
@ Llamahead - hehe sounds like your getting all arty on me there!! thanks for your words !
@ Rogue Wolves - Thanks!
@ Spudkins - Any fan of the old stuff is okay by me! Peace back at you!
To continue my little painting drive I finshed the fat nurgle guy, tho I do have to repaint/rework his tentacles, I spent ages blending them - then spoil it by giving them a massive pink highlight - i'll sort it next time, any who pic -

Metallics caught the light a bit better in that pic, shows the nice contrast between it and the armour.
Is the little jester banner from a Mordheim fig?

@J-Paint - heh I'll take that in mind and thanks . Next painted should be the hooded guy with the flail and plasma pistol.

Hey there again - Thanks for your comments and prodding me in the direction of my painting bench…. Btw Boom, 1000 posts! Where did the letters go?
Okay, Monday came and went so painting time! I finished off the very odd looking Slaanesh champion who decided to go to battle trouser less…. Bless him! . pics-
I painted his skin twice, first time it looked horribly wrong – he had the complexion of an Elf!!
You know how it is, finish five guys… you need the group shot right? Pic –
I will add another 5 Marines to these guys in the future, but I have more pressing matters at the moment, like….. what to do with this thing?-
As I’m sure you’re aware, this is the old Blood Slaughterer of Khorne, it was in a terrible state but after some work it’s come out in great condition. To be honest I’m weighing up my options –
1. Sell it on (anyone know how much these roughly go for on eBay??)
2. Was thinking about using it as a Chaos Spawn until I remembered how truly awful they are….
3. Enhance the parts into a Dreadnought (cons against this are I already have two Dreads and I’m unsure of damaging a classic model)
Or
4. Enhance the parts into a Lord of Khorne on counts as Bike (cons against see 3.), did at one point think lord of Khorne on Juggernaut, but again, Juggernauts are awful!
Anyway,
Thanks for looking!!

New addition looks cool, like the fact you went for a trouserless look, very slaaneshi
As for that blood slaughterer - sell it on. They go for about 10pence on e-bay these days, but I'll throw you 20p as I like you
It's a cool model, but tricky in a counts-as way. Personally I'd probably use the arms on a couple of marines, the torso/track on another and whels in the bits box if they didn't go with the torso. But that's just me
I like the khornish rider idea though.

Arty more likely tipsy. Make it and paint it and decide several ways to bodge it into your list depending on what you want at the time is my advice. There is no reason I can see not to use it as both biker lord & juggernaught rider.

@monkeytroll - is that 20p including postage? hehe. I like your thinking, the arms and head are quite nice, could do a bit of mixing about. Maybe use the wheels and tractor parts as some sort of gun platform.
@weetyskemian44- £20? Hrm yea maybe worth selling for around that. I agree trike wheels aren't the best mode of battlefield transport, still some nice bits on the model - I may have to take monkeytrolls advice. Automatically Appended Next Post: @llamahead - hrm maybe, could just keep it as a blood slaughterer- with maybe an enhancement here or there

Its looking likely . I really like some parts of the model- but some of it is questionable ... like why do his arms attach to his ears? Haha.

The model is meant to have bare legs I think? Tho you'll all be glad I didn't post a 'area picture' as he is wearing a thong ....... lovely.

I've always considered them to be studded leather stockings as per most of the old-skool slaaneshi guys'n'gals?

Same here, I have it in my chaos box, never painted it, but always thought it's stockings.

Aww well, I thought the stud bits looked like spots or pus filled sores. Nevermind haha.

Nice quote, I like it - however my open mind came up with a fat man with a whip wearing a thong

Great group shot! I'd go on and on but I think your head would explode from too much praise.
Idea what to do w/ this (if you do not sell it)
What about a "counts as" Terminator Champion? You wouldn't have to hack / slash a classic model, just replace the left arm with an appropriate big shooty Terminator weapon on it. Fluff behind it could be he got knocked about a *lot* in battle and they didn't have any Dreadnought suits available, so the Dark Mechanicus did this to him instead...

Thats not a bad idea, the problem is - he really is an odd size, he doesnt fit on a 40mm base and seems to small for a 60mm, still I'll come up with something
Small update, finished painting (apart for afew touch ups) the new champion of the autocannon havocs, pic -
Big thanks goes to monkeytroll for the model,
thanks for looking.

You know that model looks perfect for a Warhammer champion as well? It would fit brilliantly into both worlds which is one of the great elements about the older chaos range. The wood effect is great and the deep red robes and archaeotech gun as well as thehead give a dark Mechanicus vibe about the model!

You'd almost think I'd be over it by now, but I'm stunned once again. The highlights on the robe and goggles really stand out (in a great way) and the freehand on the banner is excellent.
I hate that I can't Exalt this thread more than once.
