So, brand new member, long time stalker on the forum.
Started up an ork army for 40k some months ago, and I've gotten a good deal painted.
So far it's very little conversion and a whole lot of classical colourscheme painting.
Painted tons and tons of boyz and some nobz. Very basic stuff, and spending more time on the wakky special stuff.
Still undecided on bases, so every base is just painted black so I can tell what is done and what isn't at a glance.
Scorcha WIP - I wanted to have the flame-guy out front on the buggy, insted of having him torching the pilot every time he fires.
So I'm building a small platform for him.

I decided aganst 4 fueldrums because it clogged up the buggy, looked too heavy and not as wacky as I was hoping.

This is the concept I'm going with, the goblin piggy-back riding is the one from Forgeworld, with an arm-swap-sorta thing, still have to make a steering colum for him.
He's got the dash-board from an Ork Trukk infront of him, I hope it will be obvious that he is driving, when he gets a steering wheel/rod in his hands.

The flamer is from the Killer-kan kit I belive, it sure stretches far ahead. I plan on measuring from the actual vehicle and not the tip of the flamer.

Looking forward to seeing your models.
Just an FYI, you can upload the pictures to DakkaDakka and then copy the Forum link directly from your Gallery.

Very nice scorcha buggy. Your pics are kinda weedy though, it's tough to see the gubbins 'n' fiddly bits of the konvershun. Automatically Appended Next Post: small. I meant small pics.

Yeah, I tried uploading them unedited to the Dakka-gallery, not quite sure yet how to work with the gallery for best effect. But untill I work that out you can see them in my personal gallery in full version. =)
The worky-bitz are few and far between, but theres lots of burny-stuff and gubbinz

I agree with Sentinel...
small pics, but as far as I can see it, really nice work
I would be interested to see pics of the rest of your army too

In an attempt to post pictures of a decent size I'm gonna try to host them on photobucket insted of the dakka gallery
Here is a mek for my burna/lootas. I just love the burnas, so properly gonna be stuck with those lads most of the time =)
Very basic paint job but theres so many boyz so I can't get bogged down on just one project =)
Some pictures of my killer kahns, the paint scheme shamelessly stolen from TheSecretSquig (awesome painter on this forum), but with nowhere near his skill level, albeit still looking sorta finished. They are unarmed as they were models bought incomplete and used.
I am in the process of constructing Grotzookas and rokkits for them, and magnetizing them in place. Gonna be cool to have the real things insted of reminding my opponent that THIS one has this and THAT one has that.....
I am very proud of the rust on the driller, having always painted clean smooth heroes and nobles of the Empire, on a white undercoat.

That skorcha buggy is looking very cool. Your paint job's a good 'un too! I really like the black outline on da teef of da kanz, looks very cartoony. You are right to be proud of that drill bit. That rust and the shiny [arts look perfect.

Post by: JensDK
Plan is to have it mounted on some sort of pillar and then use a hatch from a landraider so it can turn and swivel (spelling?). I want to use it as a Kill-Kannon for a scratchbuilt battlewagon (well in the future), and a Counts-as-looted-vehicle-with-boomgun mounted in the transport section on a Trukk. Can see a small doodle on the paper for that.
The ball-generator bit is canned, but I am gonna do that pyramid-thingy you can see in the middle of the gun. Properly gonna paper-strips turned tightly around the gun in smaller-and-smaller quantity to make that tiered look.
Help wanted:
Any good tips or ideas for worky bits and how to orkify it? I realise I've been very tidy and neat in the work so far, and i'm worried it will end up looking too un-orky.
Ideas for bits, what to add *(and where) are most welcome. Paint-edited pictures as well
Perhaps a grot pilot on it of some sort?
Not too sure how to make the claw around the center gun yet, but I've got some plastic rods for the hydraulics and lots of wire to erh... make the wires with.

Well, plenty of rivets, of course. Check his out too: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/690/399826.page dsteingass made this amazing dial board for his terrain. I think a couple dials like that on the side (the bare middle, that is) would look cool and be perfect for a mek to be pondering.
As far as the claw parts on the front, I'd say: try cutting them out of the board you used for the body of the gun. Really just the basic shape of the claw. Then add all of the detail with much thinner card stock. (or plasticard if you've got it )

Post by: JensDK
Thanks for tip and that cool link, I love Necromunda but that bloke recreating the terrain is just incredible. It sure looks amazing.
So, got some progress on the gun.
Plan is to use it as looted vehicle, killcannon on the battlewagon or as an actual liftadroppa if I ever get to play Apocalypse. Can't stand having it just sitting in the cupboard =)
I've begun rivetting, it really looks cool. No rivets on the pictures yet.

Yeah, it looks pretty huge for a Trukk. It looks a little less oversized IRL, but it is properly 10 % atleast too big, but alot of that is beause the pillar/colum its standing on is too tall.
Its just so frustrating to discard something you've worked hard on and redo it =)
18980
Post by: Arakasi
Don't discard! Repurpose!
Though, in my opinion, the pillar/column is in perfect scale to the gun. Just beef up the Trukk!

Post by: dakkagrot187
i think if you bulked out the back walls and made a proper cab for the trukk it would look perfect
50386
Post by: JensDK
So, a bit more work on the Gizmo.
I've decided to have one trukk that I bulk up like Dakkagrot suggested, and that will double for looted vehicle when I'm not using it as truck.
I've looked at many trukk conversions, but I'm unsure how to make a cool-looking cap for the trukk without changing the ramshackle appearnece of the model as a whole. But I guess I'll just have to throw things on and it will look fine =)
I've shortened the collum/pillarthing a bit, and still missing rivets on it. But added machinery and pipes to it, making it much bigger on the cargo space of the Trukk, making it a bit more balanced and still orky. Also a box with controll panel on the box next foot of the pillar.
Plan on making 3 worky-bitz on all sides of the lifta-droppa claws to in-part bulk them out and in part to add details that will look cool. Haven't worked much in this big scratchbuilding, so still working on how to create cool looking worky-bitz and gubbinz =D

COngratulations on making something cool out of that horrible old warbuggy kit. Your rust effects are looking great - they're stippled browns, I'm guessing?
50386
Post by: JensDK
Thanks =)
The rusteffects are browns, oranges and yellows stapled on with an old frayed brush, drybrushed with metallics over it, Mostly its Tin bitz with chainmail or mithril silver drybrushed over that again.

Still missing paint on a few details I missed the first time around, but it looks cool now.
Haven't got a painted trukk nor a painted battlewagon, so thats a good next project. So many things to do =)
The colum can actually turn/pivot on the spot, it is a turret from a land-raided with loads of plastic card on it, but the base is not really heavy enough for it to be practical. Properlly have to stick a ton of washers or something like it underneath.
So, what do you think?

That lifty-droppa is awesome. Hafta admit I don't see the problem of it bein' to big for the trukk the way I see it orky construction works like dis. Vehicle stolen-Add more guns-Guns too big for vehicle-Expand vehicle-to few guns-add more guns-Expand the vehicle and so on until you get a Battle Fortress or possibly a Gargant and after that a Space hulk. Your trukk is simply at the Vehicle to big for its guns stage!

nice lifta droppa.... i like it!

Post by: JensDK
I really like the idea of just making the trukk bigger, so I'm gonna get around to doing that. First, theres a few normal trukks on the chopping board, and some bikers... and ... and....
Few more shots of the gizmo, and a couple for bigfish =)

Gun pivots on the spot, thanks to the earlier mentioned land raider turret-thing (actually i think its the twin-linked assault cannon mount, but I digress =) )
Dont own a painted trukk yet, and the roll-cage thing is in the way on the one I have that is the most painted. I think this will be the trukk that gets bulked up, already did some stuff to it.
I'm not sure about the battery. I wanted it to look very different from the red bits, since I imagine that it is simply some huge battery they have stolen from the Empire and strapped to their lifta for power, hammering some iron in place and using rusted chains. Does that come across?

That's it. I have to make one of these. For sure. Amazing job.

yea that is looking sweeet, i am likig and not liking the reportions to the truc at the same time.
In one way its really cool and orky the way the Lifta droppa is like hige in comparison to the truck but at the same time the human part of my brain is saying Wtf??? how???
but meh it looks really orky, also really liking how you have got the imperium box thing on the back, very cool
50386
Post by: JensDK
You just need to WAAAAAAAAAGH more Bigfish =)
I'm pleased that you think the imperium box fits, I've given it a couple of light green glazes on the edges to make the box a bit more green and have a completely different colour-valeur than the red-brown of the ork-bits.
Got some deck-plate-sheet from the railroad hobbyshop so should be able to bulk out the trukk in time.

Gotten the Scorcha done.
I'm really happy with the reds, im pretty unhappy with the skin on both ork and grots. Weathering was ok too, looks a bit better IRL, but I think I will have to pick some more contrasting colours for weathering, for now I'm using Chardon Granite chips with chain-mail streaks in it. Guess I'll have to use a brighter colour than Chardon g..
My orcs are a tuff lot, here he is counting how many gits he has scorched. Lets just claim he only counts terminators and Space marine captains, which is why the count is so low.

Finished the body of the STOMPA, and magnetized the arms.
Made a cool scaffolding-terrainpiece for it to dock in, when I'm using it as terrain, hence the magnetized arms.
Also kinda hit a bump in the road on the STOMPA, so it's shelfed for now.
I have not been idle, tho.
Making nobs, a boss and a painboy, for the battlewagon-crew =)
And here are some pictures:
The boss is gonna be a 'eavyarmoud power-claw totting warboss, needed one as all I had was Ghazkool Tralalala and the big-chopper one , that this is based on.
The gun is purposely huuuge, albeit it perhaps got a bit too huge in the process. 2 big shootas and a autocannon on there.
The claw is a dozer-blade obviously and a lascannon powerpack. Looks cool metinks

Waaaagh-banner bloke, based on a WHFB black ork, with leg-extensions =)

The painboy, Just a normal nob, with ideas stolen from the internet, the buzz-saw is a shaved down killer-kan arm.
Also, the Waaagh-banner bloke sneaks in, for you to get a close-up of him.
And the painboys helper, not too sure why he is carrying a bosspole, perhaps he'll be relegated to ammo-runt if I find something better =)
As you can see its still early process, so comments and suggestions are very welcome.

Really nice looking orks there. The colors are fantastic bright and eye catching. The lifta dropa is really cool to. Maybe I missed it, but I think it would look better on a battle wagon, a little more beefy than a trukk, but whatever works for you. Keep up the good work.

It's not all boyz and buggies, sometimes you need to boom, zzzzap or splat the enemy, and that's where these beauties come in. It took like 1 hour to paint them from undercoat to finish, which I was very pleased with.
Almost all my ork stuff have checkers, I think they really work well with the orks, where there's quite a few surfaces that are open and free for freehand, but intriquete (sp ) freehand designs are just not super-orky. I think they'd, like me, loose their cool, and just slap some paint on it.
Of course, it could be that there is a gene-strain of Painters out there, just like Meks, Painboys and so on. Properly a underappreciated part of the tribe tho =D
Automatically Appended Next Post: Stormboyz!
I had the old dual-jump packs laying in my bitzbox for litteraly 10 years, atleast. And then I wound up with some spare ork nobs, and the rest is history. Rocketpacked, we-deliver-pain history, smashing into your battle lines. The best kind of history.
More checkers. =) The guy on the left has what I belive to be a plastic biker arm, with just a closed fist wearing a leather glove, I think he looks realy menacing =) Got 14 stormboys in total, they rarely do much, because my friends target them so fiercely with drop pod-troops and what not. But I guess that they then aren't shooting holes in my transports, so there's an upside =)

Im spending my painting time closing gaps in my army so I can field fully painted and based models only. It is not very far off now, which is awesome. Played some games over the Easter with almost entirely painted armies, and that was great.
I've been working on a nob squad, amongst many things, this is the beginings of the Waaaaagh banner, gonna be chekcers down the sides, and properly yellow-black stripes on the cross bar.
50386
Post by: JensDK

I've finished the banner, and done some touch ups on the Banner-waver, he was a very very simple paint job. So I made him a tad prettier, if that applies to orks.
The design on the banner is properly the best freehand I've done to date. It consists of very simple pieces, and all I've done is highlight the areas the design consists off, and I'm really happy with the result.
CC and ideas for what to with his legs/pants are very welcome!

I elongated the legs to make him bigger, he is a BIG mek after all =)

Post by: JensDK
Thank you =)
It actually wasn't very hard. The hardest part was drawing a nice, good circle on cloth that folds and was not hanging down straight.
But once that succeded, the rest could be practiced with pencil and paper and then simply duplicated with brush and paints =) Simple highlights and watered down paints. Loads of layers on it.
I wanted to do some yellow to red blends on the flames, but I was adviced against it.
I also originally planned to do more items lower on the banner, but I think the banner works like this. =)
Looking at the Nob carrying the banner I think I'll end up repainting his armour red, and doing paint-chipping on it, like the "powerglow" he is holding the banner in, seeing how the metal looks horrible.

Working on a warboss on a bike. Trukk and deffkopta parts, AOBR boss, deff-rolla front wheel
Earliest WIP pic, trying to get a feel for where to nip and tuck
Approxamately this will be the pose.

Should I add a grot gunner? Pondering making the area on top of the rear bit into a gunners nest and a booster rocket dock. I could forgo the goblin+gun, but I kinda want to add it, as the warboss DOES come with a twin dakkagun from being on the bike, and representing that in the conversion would be nice and suitable.Something like this:
50386
Post by: JensDK
Moved the boosterrocket back some, removed some of the trukk engine to make room for it. Leaving me with a bit more room, as can be seen.
I'm pondering if it should be filled with
A grot observer
A grot gunner/gun nest
Tech crap (no grots)
Replaced all the bluetag with greenstuff, so now he is glued in place. Theres lots of room on his vest for freehand designs, skulls and wings hehe. Bad-ass biker =)

The black sprayed gobo is just ponderings =)
50386
Post by: JensDK
Statusraport on the warboss. Colourtest to ensure that he is red enough, while still overall pleasing to the eye.
After good counciling I've found a diffferent grot-gunner and I'm gonna place it so it shoots in the same direction as the warboss is pinching. But I'm not gonna mount the gobo untill i've painted the rest, because he'd just be in the way.

A few shots of the painted Mek.
I spent waaaay too long building the base for him, I've halfway decided that I wont do that again, and just content with buying resin bases if the urge for such scenic bases strikes me again. Never been good with bases.

Iphone seems to disagree with metallics, it looks like it blurs them a bit, they aren't as smudged out IRL.

Quick! Drill those barrels!
Looking good, almost... cartoonish - I think it's the high contrast style. Was that what you were going for?
50386
Post by: JensDK
Cartoonish, well, my wife says so atleast.
In regards of painting;
It isn't really what I'm going for as such, but a consequence of some deliberate choices. My ork-skin tone is pretty bright, as can be seen on most miniatures, and I'm sorta going for Evil Sunz colourscheme, with a whole lot of rich reds.
The rich reds kinda urges me to do some powerfull yello contrasts, inspired by TheSecretSquigs ork army, and the effects he uses on his guys. I really liked the red/yellow balance on his killerkans for instance. I feel the orks benefit greatly from some stark contrasting paint jobs, which reflects in part the over-the-top humour inherent in the army. Gritty, more earthy colours don't work for me on orks. I'm sure the orks themselves would pick super-bright over weedy camo any day of the week.
In regards to conversions:
At the same time I wanted to avoid taking some of the more boring solutions I see around the net, like looted vehicles just being Leman Russ tanks with glyphs on them, and conversions being clumsy or undetailed. In a way I feel that my colour-scheme is over the top and cartoonish, while my conversionwork ATM is rather realistic and smooth. That's what I've been trying for so far, atleast. Realistic, in the sense that it looks like actual models, and is detailed and finished, not just a repainted undetailed GI-JOE toy. I feel that the devil very much is in the detail in regards of conversion work. The lifta droppa is quite over the top, but with high amount of detail, and the construction looks like something a GW ork might actually construct. I'm trying to rework my late night coffee-induced bright ideas into something better, before painting it up, and calling it models hehe. In that regard the Dakka forum has been a huuuge inspiration with loads of zany awesome ideas from pretty crazy, impressive people.

Having painted red for AGES, I'm getting slightly sick of red, so I've gone a different way with these guys. Or guy, as it were, only one guy finished so far.
Got a plan for 12 in total, mix of Necromunda Orlocks, Scum, IG heavy weapons team crew memers and some old plastic Orlock from the original Necromunda set.

Painting red....
I've been super tired of it.
So super tired that I decided to paint these Orlocks without it. At all. No reds.
And that was/is a really interesting project. Its a bit of a limited palette, and it forces me to try and do different things with my painting.
I would normally never do the sand-colour so prominent. I'd go for a more rich colour. The green on the Tshirts is properly also a product of needing to look elsewhere for interesting colours.
But it just works better with a splash of contrast. Blue, yellowish and red, the three primary colours represented. It works.Almost everything I'm painting winds up like this. I'm pretty terrible at sticking to a limited palette.
I don't think I'm painting all the headbands red though. I've painted the flamer guys' headband a prison orange colour, works pretty well.
4 hours today while Skyping with friends got me this:
Camera angle makes the autopistol seem huge, its really not bad.
The old catachan metal models fit perfectly for Orlocks. This guy is lasgun/frag grenades. An odd mix, but I had the model =)

So, I've finished the built. Almost. I'm still looking for something cool to use as a hatch. I might built one myself, I might add a grot with a sword (you know, like this guy)
Either way, pictures of the finished built. I wound up with a tekky looking mek gun. I'm going to use it as "Mek Gun", so it's not a particular one. I plan on making one or 2 more, different, but same size. Time will show if I get it done, hehe.
Turret is magnetized for ease of transport. Also, it's fun to crank the turret around, and aim it at different stuff. I got lucky on the weight of it, it's actually pretty well balanced, so it fits quite nicely on the tank, and turns smoothly.
pumped up bodybuilder with pristine firearms for scale.
Engine is some pipes for looks, and 2 exhausts in an odd angle.
Shot of the turret on it's own
Body on its own, Tracks were very easy to do, just pieces of plastic alternating with piece of rod + rivets. I saw the idea first here on Dakka, so cudos if someone here invented it. I think it looks nice. And it was (almost ) free, if man-hours dont count hehe.
Total built time around 6 hours, research and random clicking around the internet looking for inspiration not included.

Heh, I think everything takes a lot of effort with this stuff, but it is its own reward in a way. Its fun to research, plan and do.
The only thing I kinda regret a tiny tiny bit is that I havent gotten around to resin casting yet, so I dont copy any of my stuff. For instance this tank, I could have done some parts for a mould and just reused them for tank #2 and 3.
But, thats for when I get old and retire =)

Following my rather big succes with building the Mek gun/Grot tank in a few weeks (thats very quick for me), I drifted on into other stuff I thought I was missing for my Ork army.
I've already made one Scorcha, and I've begun work on another. I've wanted to do that Deffkopta => bike for a while, but I've got soooo many bikes that it feels kinda silly to make another bike.
But, Scorchas are so darn cheap (at 45? points, cant be bothered to grab the codex), so I thought "1 is good, 2 is better/Burna teheee" . And I also really wanted to use some of the bitz from the old Scorcha wartrak thing.
I'm properly gonna make the weapons interchangeable, because sometimes the twin rokkits are very usefull.
The side-cars top is a hatch/top piece from a Killa kan, cut very much down.

UPDATE!; Built complete! Just missing the interchangeable guns. The Scorcha turret is basicly finished. I guess I'll mount a magnet underneath it, and make a Twin-rokkit turret. I've got some twin-big Shootas with magnets from my battlewagon (that rarely sees action these days), so no need to make those.
It's quite crazy, it's been a while since I've had such a spurt of productivity. Great stuff. =D
Guess I'll have to focus on Mek Guns again next. Lets see what inspires the most.
Either way, finished the bike-sidecar Scorcha. Turned out quite nicely. Managed to squeeze in the radiator from the old buggy-kit, with an altered exhaust on it. Great bit that is.
Please note the front wheel guard, with fangs on it and everything =) Also the rear wheel guard/case (dunno the exact english word), really like how that part turned out
A hatch, because that's how you enter the sidecar, apparently.
Also note the OOP. totally vintage enginepart, namely the radiator from the Buggy kit from the 90ies. Changed the exhaust for one I had from a ..... trukk metinks.
Contrast went a bit odd on this one. In a way the rear wheel is a bit poorly suspended, but I'm just so pleased with the visible chain (made from a Spiky Ball crane from the Battlewagon kit) that I couldn't make myself put more stuff there, as it would hide the chain ect.

I've not begun painting anything, I'm worried I'll stop building, so while I'm on a great building streak I dont mind piling up painting projects.
I've begun on the next Mek Gun. The gun on this guy is inspired by Epic scale speedstas with Bubble Chuckers, and the Mek Gun Chucker from the current range.
Gun is very much in its early stages.
Tracks are about done, just missing rivets and perhaps a few more panels/armour strips.
A scaleshot. A hopefull goblin looking to crew the tank
Comments and suggestions welcome =)

I really loved the 2.nd ed. group of wierd speed freak buggies and stuff, and I wanted to do something similar. I wanted a throng of oddly looking cars, cobbled together of all kinds of sources, like real orks would do it. At the same time I want it to look fitting with the GW style, and the scratch built stuff to not stand too much out.
I really like the space marine attack bike, and how it works, and I thought orks might want to do that aswell, hence the trike was born. I made the drive chain thing for the rear wheel from a wrecking ball. It sort of should be bulked out more back there, but I just really liked that you could see the drive chain, and couldn't make myself bulk it out more =) "Kill your darlings" - I know, but I couldn't do it hehe.

First a showcase of something I find funny, and then a request for advice.

These 2 pictures show the command console and the steering wheel + gear-stick i've made for Grottank2, and the planned "command" model. I think the gear stick and steering wheel is a funny touch.
Perhaps it is hard to see in the pictures, but there are buttons on the command console, and the coil in the back of it looks not-retared IRL =)
Now for the question.

So, I have my 2.nd grot tank nearly done. I'm now realising I didnø't really have a plan for the gun for it. Do you have any fancy suggestions for it?
I'm considering putting a sorta tesla coil ending on the end of the smaller wooden bead, but I'm unsure. I'm planning on painting both wooden beads ad weathered dented brass.

Loving the orks
I am now going to have to dig out Boss Zhadsnark and the Mega Dredd that have been sitting unloved and unbuilt in my 'To be done' Box.... 'tis a massive box
Your free hand banner is brilliant and the lifta droppa too, all in awesome.

Thanks for the praise heh =)
Get painting on that Boss Zhadsnark, looking forward to seeing it painted. I love that model, it's great! He looks so mean and menacing, ready to slice most anybody open with that buzzsawthingy.
I went in a pretty different direction than the mock up. Once I added the big Meganob Jaw, the model looked odd with the bitz I had chosen. So, with some tinkering, I present a completed meganob.
The meganob is a black ork core, with some cut downs with the dremmel to get the boxy look on the shoulders ect. For some of them I'm gonna make a special butt, looking like the GW meganobs, for some I will leave the Black ork chain mail. Different looks work well I belive. They are not uniforms, but custom builds for each rich ork boss, atleast in my head. Also on a very real level, I'm building them one at the time.
Perhaps the image is a bit too bright, sorry about that. Looking at the rear of the shoes now, it look like crap, and I might redo it. Other than that, I'm really happy with the build.
This is a nob for a boyz-mob that lost his powerfist to a bigger, and more grim and MEGAnob. Also, he is included for scale. They are pretty tall, and don't look silly next to the Ghazkul model, that I plan on using a lot more now... and perhaps even painting!
Scaleshot, obviously =) Also a nice shot of the front of meganobs boot, where you can see there are fangs on the nose.
On both knees I've added a glyph plate. It can sorta be seen on the scale shot (where it is a bit) but no image shows the right knee, where I made one with 3 fangs on it. It all helps bulk out the chaos marine leg.
I suppose the chain on the gun-arm is there for decorative purposes only, as the gunarm is a replacement of his hand. I dont think he can take the gun-arm off. But then again, being an ork, I'm not sure he would.
Fixed post, had posted the same image twice.

Gotten 1 more done. It is sorta finished, as in I'm properly not doing anything more to it. But he looks kinda skinny. But then, I'm making 5ish, and I think he will look JUST fine with the others, once painted. He's got the height and mass. I'm missing a bit of detailing on him, but I think I will be the only one to notice.

This is where it shows, that he is a bit light on details. On his left side i've added a gun-and-stikkbomb bit, so that side is ok, but, like I mentioned, I think I will be the only one noticing.

Yet another meganob done. I've only got one more in the pipeline, and I'm looking for ideas for Kill saws for it. Working on it.
In the meantime I got this guy done (While watching Jurassic Park 1).
He is a lot more bulky and "meaty" than the others, and I'm really happy with him. He is also rather heavy set, and is bracing his big gun, which is always cool.
Sideview shows off the stick bomb launcher. I kinda think it is over-sized, but I really couldn't be bothered to scratchbuilt one at 70% the size of the bit I already had. So there you have it. Big stikk bomb =)
Also on this picture HIS ARM, which is kinda a big deal on this guy. its different from the other Meganobz in that it is mechanical. Its just pipes, and parts of pipe to "flesh" out the shoulder. I really like it, and it lends a heavy, bionic feel to the meganob.
I'm missing adding 2 thin tubes on the gun, but I forgot when I was taking the picture.
The backpack is half of a gun I was VERY surprised to find in my bitzbox. I dont think I have the other half (or I would not have used it.) But now that I've cut up the part, I'm sure the missing piece will surface =D
Really wanting him to lean to his left and brace the gun, I stuck the hovering right foot on a worky bit. Looking at his shoes, I think I have to put something to cover the bit rough cuts on his shoes, The tops look kinda sloppy done, which they werent. Or atleast they werent QUICK to do, so perhaps thats still slobby but slow. Meh.
Either way, there you have it. 3.rd meganob, with a personality of his own, I feel. Nice big mean guy with a powa claw. Gonna hate to see him in your deployment zone, when you are standing there, minding your own buisness in your tank. =D

Oh please steal away. But be warned, if you build/steal any ideas from this blog (where lots of it is stolen from other people), you need to post pictures of your stuff on your (huge) blog yourself =D
Thanks for hte praise, its nice to hear from folks.
I'd also welcome comments and suggestions on what particularly works, and what doesn't =) But high-5s are never out of order hehe.

Ive made some progress, and painted (halffassedly) the meganobs.
However, I've finished painting 2 of the biggunz/grot tanks.
This weekend I added the hazard stripes and daks (thats checkers fer uuz 'Umies).
I thought I would add a lot of battledamage, as on my Boss-bike, but I dont think I can be bothered.
I think I will be the only one noticing the battledamage, and with the mountain of stuff to do, thats properly not worth it =)
Tips on painting the cockpit welcome, mind you that I'm adding that goblin with the telescopic binoculars, so a splash of green is already going on the model.
