Heya,
(Hope this goes here with background since it's kind of about it, if not please excuse and move it)
So I was reading some warhammer 40k background stuff and came across Perturabo, the Iron Warrior primarch, who built a giant fortress for the Imperial Fists to take. So after long and bloody fighting the Imperial Fists breach the Fortress... only to find that the fortress was empty all along and basically just another open killing field full of entrenched Iron Warriors. Right there I stopped and thought "Perturabo, what a Troll!" and just imagined the primarch going "U mad Dorn?". This made me think of other Fluff trolls like the Deceiver (who probably trolls people on a regular basis), but especially when in form of a planetary governor (if I remember correctly) who gets stabbed by a Callidus assassin and just absorbs her C'tan phase sword and goes "U mad?" (before slicing her in tiny pieces).
So I ask you, do you know of any other trolls in the Warhammer 40k universe?
Perturabo is the biggest troll in 40k lore, he is so much successful that his little "joke" left Dorn a broken man.
Calgar is a troll to, doing incredible things from time to time ( like beathing Avatar of Kaine to death ).
We could also count Mephiston here, aldo I think he is just show of ( tearing trough entire Tyranid force up to the Alpha Tyrant using only his hands, also tearing Carnifex in cc with bare hands ).
And then we have O'Kais from "Fire Warrior" who is basically Tau mix of Rambo, Stalone, Arnold and John Mclain.
Black Templars and Space Wolves are constantly trolling Inquisition.
Got any details? Not too familiar with Sicarius, though people all over the forum keep calling him a giant d***. I'll have to look into that
OT: Just quickly looked over Lukas the Trickster and he seems to be an ultimate troll (evidence nr.1 "luring a lord of the Word Bearers into making planetfall upon thin ice, resulting in hundreds of Traitor Marines plunging to their death into the Sea of Lost Souls" from the lexicanum), gonna see if I find some more stuff
Some spoilers for the AoBR book and Chapter's Due.
Spoiler:
1) He broke up Scipio's squad and sent half of them on a scouting mission with some Scouts. Scipio was kinda unhappy (Rea: Very) but he could see the wisdom in it, especially after it paid off. 2) He sent Scipio undercover as some renegade marines in order to find an enemy commander. After some weeks of searching Scipio and his squad were forced to make a massive show and what begun as a last stand before help arrived (IIRC they took heavy casualties before help arrived) Sicarius killed the enemy commander but when he was asked about it he claimed he knew where the commander had been all along...
Lucius dies in agonising pleasure, only for the person that killed him to look in the mirror a few days later, seeing their face wearing that unmistakable grin.

I didn't realize that tactical and strategic deception was considered 'trolling'. Quick someone dig up Sun Tzu's body and tell him that he got it wrong when he wrote the Art of War over 2000 years ago!
Thankfully, their horrendous and terrible deaths were all fictitious. As well as the rape, torture, and experimentation they endured. Thankfully, it all never really happened so I can make fun of it.
BrainDeleted wrote:Emperor's Children. Instead of participating in the siege of terra, they trolled all the civilians.
This is seriously not funny. People died, in worst deaths, by millions...
It is pretty funny to be fair...
SPOILER ALERT
Spoiler:
Was it funny when London burned this year?
It kinda was... You should have heard some of the jokes. 'The Kaiser Chiefs are having a field day with this' 'You turn your back for 5 minutes and then society breaks down' Also the riots in London were real so it's a touch more serious.
The Emperor's Children tried to troll the Black Legion, but the Black Legion beat the **** outta 'em and permanently shattered their Legion. So arguably they're attempted trolls. And as you said, Perturabo was a master troll.
Just been thinking, wasn't the Emperor kinda trolling Angron? Instead of just teleporting down from his ship and saving Angron and all of his friends, just letting them duke it out and then get to him or just assist Angron from Orbit with his ships, he beams Angron up and says "Lol your friends are now dying and you can't do sh*t. U MAD?"
And what's up with Eldrad? Aren't Eldar way too wanna-be tragic to be trollin?
Andy Hoare wrote a particular book in 2006 which people have argued and caused uneeded flamefests about how to decifer its ambiguous fluff since its release.
I'd say that's quite a bit of trollery on Mr. Hoare's part.
Urien Rakarth trolled the Tau when he offered his help against the Nids. He threw a gakload of Wracks, Grotesuqes and Talos at the bugs and saved the Tau. Then he asked for some fire warriors and ethereals in return. They gave him the warriors, but not the ehtereals. Next time he aided them against the bugs... The tau realized the new Wracks were made out of the fire warriors they gave him.
Not only that, but when he asked for more warriors and ethereals and the Tau refused, he called his buddy Vect and the both obliterated a mayor Tau city, taking everything they found to play with.
Vect's quite a bit of a troll himself, but I'll talk about him later.
Durza wrote:Abaddon's been trolling Cadia for a while now.
Nah bro it's the other way around, all mighty Chaos Warlord Abaddon will conquer the universe!!! Once he get's passed that one place where a single imperial guard planet and a couple of marines just beat him back into the warp going "U mad?". Though some of the stuff here is less trolling then it is just ass whoopin'.

Coolyo294 wrote: Straken trolled a Chaos Lord when he strangled him with a poisonous root.
cracked me up, where is that story from?
It's from the Planetstrike book.
Catachan Bites Back - 972.M41 Chaos Lord Ratathrax of the Night Lords invades Catachan. Sending vast anti-plant barrages onto the planet, Rarathrax robs the Catachan Imperial Guard of their most natural defence before systematically bombing their bastion networks into rubble. Ratathrax makes planetfall to enjoy the butchery first hand. Unfortunately for him, Colonel Straken, lying in ambush in a quagmire of toxic sludge, waits for Ratathrax to remove his helmet before throttling him with a poisonous barb-root.
Perturabo is surely the greatest mortal troll in the setting, by fething far.
Dorn: COME OUT PERTURABO YOU SLIMEY GI- hey where is everybody?
Perturabo: *Trollface*
Or
Perturabo: Yo Lion if you give me them siege engines to use against the traitors on Istvaan V I'll support you for Warmaster.
Lion El'Jonson: Wow really? That sounds just fine. Promise me they'll be put to good use.
Perturabo: Oh, don't worry. They will. *trollface*
The Deceiver should be mentioned too, if Cegorach is.
The Deceiver tricked the Nightbringer into eating its own people while also being its own people, and not only came out of this deal alive, but came out better than any other C'tan. What a dick.
Grey Templar wrote:The biggest troll in 40k is Lukas the Trickster, cause he trolled Slannesh big time.
Slannesh, the god of perpetual pleasure and orgies, hasn't a single line about his potency anywhere.
Lukas's fluff consists about how he bedded 12 women in one night.
Lukas wins!!!

Then there's the part about him wiring a stasis bomb in place of his second heart. Who ever kills him, in melee anyway, is going to have that smirk on their face for the rest of time.
"OK kids we're gonna head out into the stars and conquer the galaxy!"
"YAY DAD!!! Galaxy for the superhumans and their demigod leaders!!!"
"Kidding kids!!! Here humans, have it back, Tzeentch said he wants a word with me in the labs, back later finish the dishes and conquering then go to bed kids..."
Brother Coa wrote:Ghaz also trolled Titan crew when he smashed his bike into Titan head
That wasn't Ghaz..That was Wazdakka.
How can Ghaz even ride a bike? He'll fall off all the time because of his Mega-Armor.
.
Correct - but I bet if Ghaz wanted some form of giant bike that he could ride in mega armour he would get one
Da Mek boyz would be told to get it done!
It may even show up in a future codex!!
Ok, that would be pretty damn awesome.
Sorry to destroy your plans, but there's an Apocalypse formation including Ghaz and a lot of nobz, and there's a line about the nobz not being allowed to have bikes because Ghaz feels "it 'aint a proper way ta get inta battle" or something like that.

No, not a City an entire world
But yeah, Vect, Urien, and even lady malys( What helping so much before she rips his spine out?)
I'd go with Cegorach. I did quite like these anecdotes from the wiki of the imageboard-that-shall-not-be-named:
1. One day, Cegorach slipped a gigantic whoopee cushion onto Khorne's skull throne, when Khorne sat down, the cushion could be heard throughout the warp, the webway, and the materium, and everyone laughed their fething asses off. At first Khorne got pissed, but as he thought of ways to get revenge, he found the incident increasingly funny and gave Cegorach a handshake, but Cegorach was using a fake arm with a joybuzzer.
2. Cegorach once managed to have a Harlequin slip into the Emperor's palace and sneak a clown nose, a harlequin mask, and a jester's hat onto the Emperor's face and paint him in silly colors on the golden throne and had the image broadcast across the galaxy and the warp. The Emperor quickly became the laughing stock of the universe and more than a hundred Imperial worlds were simultaneously declared for Exterminatus to blam the entire populace for heresy.
Ultramarines pretty much troll every other Chapter with their awesomeness (as per the Space Marine Codex has told me) and being obvious trolls to the Space Puppies, Black Templar, and even those nipple-chastened Blood Angels.

Space Puppies, Black Templar and Blood Angels (probably White Scars and Raven Guard too...) troll the Ultramarines by using the Codex Astartes as premium A-grade toilet paper.

Wrong. Only the Spess Puppies and BT use the Codex as toilet paper. The rest are normal Chapters.

Blood Angels are only normal in that they nominally adhere to the Codex. But there is that whole Black Rage gig that kinda limits that potential. Plus, you know, Baal Predators, Storm Ravens and all that.
Raven Guard only follow the Codex insofar as its a useful manual for most things, but they certainly do not revere it like the Ultramarines do. They follow the Codex organisation patterns, yes, but if they need to get gak done, they are more than willing to disregard to Codex to ensure that it does.
Somewhere in the old Necron codex I think it said that the Deciever decieved the Nightbringer into consuming most of their fellow Star Gods. I'm not sure though, so someone please check.

U Mad Ecclesiarchy?
The fluff also makes it sound as if he might have Vulkan.
I think the Salamanders would be quite perturbed about this.
Davian Thule.
O'Kais "Surrender! If not for you, then for the Greater Good!"
Thule " The Greater Good is coming at you from my bolter"
(imagine him saying that with a troll voice)

yes, but it got whacked with the allmighty Retconhammer.

He trolled the Necrons into giving up their souls though.

and then they trolled him right back
although I think the C'tan shards are actually more powerful then the actual C'tan ironically enough. Epic troll right there.
The Eldar in general are pretty big trolls. With Eldrad and that one Apocalypse Strategic Asset where you can choose 3 models, and when they get shot at it turns out they were never there
Popenfresh wrote:Cegorach also trolled Lady Malys once, making him a good cannibal troll as well.

QFT, although thats only a theory so far.
Well, on DE, Vect has so far trolled 150% of the population, 3 SM chapters, the Kaurava system (the Dais was only a setback...) and pretty much every other race.
But what would you expect?... he's 10 000 years old...

So are Eldrad, Cegorach and Tzeentch. There appears to be a theme coming on .
What about Kharn the Betrayer, he trolls everyone and everything. He would happily knock himself unconscious trying to head butt a planet into oblivion.

This is correct, but not yet specific enough. For actions directly or indirectly trolling the following, but not limited to: The entirety of the Adeptus Astartes, the High Lords of Terra, the Eldar, the Tau, the Tyranids, the Orks, and causing aneurysm inducing levels of rage in a good portion of the playerbase, I hereby award the title of "Greatest troll in the history of 40k" to:

The SPIRITUAL LIEGE.
Good thing the Chaos legions avoided that trolling then. You'd have to be a tactical genius to troll them.
