Welcome to my first Dakka Dakka blog. I'll going through the ups and downs I encountered during the construction of my marines and forgeworld stuff.
So here we go. First of all this is the model Im using as my captain at the moment. I use him as captain cortez.
Captain + Storm sheild + Power fist + Artificer Armour = Captain Alissio Cortez.
This was my first ever Crimson Fist tacical squad I havnt any WIPs of them but heres a finished squad.
Captain power fist, Melta-gun and heavy bolter.

Been working on casting my own tank pack fists today.
I used greenstuff, pro-create and liquid greenstuff.
And a picture of tools I used.

Quick tutorial is:
First I scratch and pull and scraped the vehicle in all the most likable features on the the model.
The after undercoat basecoat. Paint the scratches a Dark brown colour ( I used scorched GW brown).
Then Apply tin bitz GW. But not fully this time.
Then I drybrushed the the areas of damage.
The bullet holes I dab brown ink aswell if you wan the rust drip effect like on the vindicator.
One day Ill do a proper picture step by step. Any other questions drop me a reply.
Hopefully starting my cortez model and doing more work on
Contemptor Emmure.

The weathering on your vehicles is simply amazing and you have some very inventive conversions going on here. Nice work on the Dreads and that Sternguard Rhino!
Just dont rush it when you do it and end up chopping too uch or else you could end up with just a pile of cut up plastic.
The sterngaurd rhino was done really easy to be honest as posted above Ill try get some pictures of it inside tomorow.

Hey everybody sorry I am not going to get a good photo of inside the tank till my girlfriend gets back.
Also havnt done alot of work due to staying up till 12pm today playing skyrim. 13 hours of skyrim has hurt my head.

If you can definitely call for a replacement for that miscast arm.Then you can fix the other one for more conversions (if they let you keep it!) And as for the other arm maybe saw off the bolt pistol arm as cleanly as you possibly can then dry-fit both options and see which one you like best before gluing. And Nice old school libby.

So over the christmas period Ive been working on a scenic base to take the photos of my minitures on here are a few WIPS of it.
I have undercoated it today black but no Point to put pictures of that beacause thats more boring.

Supposed to comment earlier, that dread looks stunning! My only reccommendation would be to clean the edges of the tabard a so it looks a little less random, but apart from that, I love this peice!
Sorry to let people down. but the weather was too terrible today was like a mealstorm in the making.

Been working hard on some new terrian for one day a gaming board for me and the lads. Yes I'm going to try make my own board and terrian I cant wait. I'll be posting everything on this blog so people dont have to read loads of different blogs. The barrels where made today and the pva is still drying but couldnt resist taking some photos for you guys.

Looking forwad to your gaming board man! I mad one out of 3 sheets of MDF cut to fit 4ft-6ft then woodland senics grass man culed on top! Great stuff you have going on here. I especially like the vehicles! Great weathering, and it looks like they have been through just about everything they can and keep on running.
Usually not a fan of Astartes but I always enjoy a good modeling / painting thread so consider me subscribed and I'll be back for more!

Contemptor is looking nice, only the green stuff robe lets it down a little. Still need to practise those myself. The fist iconography however looks great, if a bit large

Should I replace or get rid the contemtors Groin Cloth??? You decide. The more I look at it the more I dislike it.

Personaly, I like the idea but it looks a bit small. I think you have a nice model with a great paint job. And at the moment the cloth detracts from that, so my vote give it another go. Maybe make it longer and thinner? If that dosent work scrap the whole Idea completely.
I've only just found this blog so forgive the lateness of my comment, but I love your Sternguard rhino, its such a simple, yet original idea, are they removable when they leave the rhino?

Well last few days I've Been working on my New immproved sterngaurd.
Also I'm Stripping the sterngaurd Rhino to fit in with the new coloour sceme of the sterngaurd. So been Very Very busy guy.

Great start! Is that a targeter from the devastator squad? Nice use of bits!
My only CC would be that the relaxed position with the bolter doesn't look so relaxed Maybe don't have the bolter pointing straight up? For straight up to look right the angle of the elbow would have to be much less than 90 degrees, whicloser to 45 or even 30.
I always have a soft spot for Crimson Fists, and they're looking sharp.
Sternguard are such a cool unit with tons of room for customization, and the existing models look boss as well. I can't wait till you get a full squad painted up.
Also, I didn't realize how ridiculous that assault cannon looked on a contemptor dreadnaught... Hell yes.

Crimson fists where my first ever army after chaos. Nobody did the crimson fists that I have met. Then this codex come out and loads of people do them now due to pedro. I don't mind pedro but rather field someone else.
Anyway I've started stripping models out the tank yesterday so I can paint them to my new sterngaurd paint sceme.
@Rawson I'll try change it to 90 degrees.That is from devastator sprue.

Had my first night off on thursday and played space crusade was amazing. I won by alot not taking 1 marine down or even wound off my captain heres my squad of crimson fists with the bad guys I killed.
I also killed a dreadnought thats the the secondary objective was but deathbringa had dismantled and put it away.

I was ultramarines but we ahve changed them now so they are crimson fists. We are thinking of Making are own squads with the current models.
I want to use the mk2 FW models with the weapon packs.
Should look awsome.
I believe that its from the black templar sprue.
But can be done use cheap thin chain.
Started my librarian today should get some pictures up at the weekend as my week is hectic.

Good update man! May I suggest doing some more fists on the blog to get more people intresred! Perhaps (this is what I did), PM a moderator and request to have your blog shown on the home page occonasionly and perhaps ask others if they could check out your blog.... Hope this helps..

Hello everyone
It has been too long since a real update on my Crimson Fists. This all happened because I drunk a can on Monster energy at 22.35pm and couldn't sleep so decided to go mental and MODEL.
So for starters in the 11th Legion campaign I want to get the stuff in my list done first.
My 600 point list:
Pedro Kantor (to be use real model or convert one???)
5 Sterngaurd + Drop pod
5 Sniper Scouts + Camo Cloaks
Here are my scouts. The sergeant was the hardest to make different to the as the old models are very static. So I focused on his weapons. I gave a sort of sniper pistol and a ork combat weapon. I did't want him to have chainsword as it is too noisy for sneaky silent scouts.
Do you think people could moan its not a actual sniper rifle. I have given rest the lads the same end as a flash suppresser.
That is the only stuff I have done for my list so far but I have been working towards my bigger list later in the campaign.
I finished modelling my converted Tech-marine:
Aslo my converted Apothacary:
I also made changes to my standard bearer that I painted for the Painted Dragon comp ages ago. I made him a lot more battle worn and gave him some bionic legs and a honoured power fist.

I have total re-based my marines to just cork basing now and just my HQ and unique units will have the tiles on as I think it looks abit too much.
Last and not least a question. Does this model look ok like this or should I just do the same as the other?

Love the work you're doing, especially the conversion work, given me fresh inspiration to get my ultramarine second company started (well start painting). Will keep checking for updates.
Now were cooking propper cold hard updates!!!!! The scouts are really nice and the fire supresseres are cool too. Id do that over guy with the foam oin his base with out it. But you could still keep it, you just cant have coversaves with it!!!!!! The teck marine is also nice too!

Thank you so much for your reps and help on my last post.
I took peoples advice and removed the wall and placed him on the cork tile. I also won a 4am purchase of just undercoated whirlwind what I was super duper happy about it is a personal fave model for me not sure why. I think that in the faq that they will allow a upgrade to take flyers out (fingers crossed) like a Anti-Aircraft Round.
I also got my first finecast sterngaurd (2nd batch as 1st was holy and miscast). I really enjoyed working with the finecast. After filing for ages and scalpelling eventually based them on cork as the rest of my army.
2 of them I have fully built(without baackpacks) and undercoated. The others I will spray the bodies and guns seperate.
I will get my arms and shoulder pads glued on later tonight and may get them sprayed tomoz.
Recently got dumped and kicked out my house BUT I managed to retrieve all my stuff not sure if we will get back together. But I have my familey so I'm cool.
Anywho today I have been working on my [glow=red]July comp[/glow] and my Crimson Fists.

A objective marker made from the 25th Anniversery model.
Some tactical marines nearly 100%
Just need to add some tufts to the bases and gloss to the eyes and they are done.
Also I have decided to not glue the melta/flamer or plasma allowing for weapon swap.
