I think there was one of these a while back.
Anyway the aim of it is to post a song that in somewhat relates to the previous one. Be it in name, band name, genre or what the song is about. Should be a decent way for some to find new bands they wouldn't have noticed before either.

I'll start it off with something different to what I usually listen to as Dakka loves rock and metal so it'd be an easier starting point.

We DID break away from it:

My song was a "love song". So Deathreaper took that theme and built off of it with a song about being "happy together".

A wiser third play would have been to carry that further by jumping on the "together" theme and perhaps posting "Come Together" by The Beatles or the "happy" component and posting "Happy Happy Joy Joy" from Spongebob...

The connection needs to be one of these four: "Be it in (Song) name, band name, genre or what the song is about"

"Day-O (The Banana Boat Song)" and "Come Together" have no names the same, no band names the same, not the same genre, and they are not about the same thing.

this song is a non sequitur.

Those were examples not restrictions. It just needs to relate somewhat.

(oh, and for the record, Cowboy Bebop's soundtrack is utterly and completely joygasmic)

Anything Kannosan touches turns to gold, she is amazing. I love her work in GitS, Macross plus, bebop, just about anything she's been involved with.

Funny thing about this song is that I originally thought it was motivational. About disregarding the views of other people and doing what you really want to and what not. But then I found out it was about Bowie's half brother. Bowie's schizophrenic half brother. Bowie's schizophrenic half brother who jumped in front of a train.

It's farfetched but David Coverdale mentioned the word dying and Tool's lyric has the word Die.
So I went for death ^^
