The pose of the biker is awesome. Great job on the paintjob too.

NICE! That red -> black is really striking, and nicely done on the weathering. your weathering achieves that perfect balance between not enough and way too much, which is quite the acccomplishment.

Looks like you used transfers on some of the tanks, but did smooth the edges, so bravo! I love seeing transfers where they blend in nicely. Did you freehand the Blood Angels symbol on the top hatch of Nike? Love the names, BTW!

Edit - the claws on Thaddeus are exceptional! Blending is very fine.

@ Gymnogyps .. Thanks .. yeah I use Micro Sol to blend them in and a little paint and powder to finish it off. I made a stencil and sprayed it, then touched it up with brush... Wing Stencil

You've darkened the red just enough, so many folk have bright red blood angels, this is perfect! Keep it up!

@ Nrljm - Thanks .. I don't use a lot of the extreme highlights .. mainly do a lot of extreme shadows .. Start with dark red (like Mech Foundation) then add shadows with black wash, start layering 50/50 of Blood red for the highlights, transition with scab red .. add more shadow or highlights as needed 8) .. I've had some other requests so I'll try to make a more detailed how to soon..

@ Spaced - Thanks! .. I wanted my Angels to looks a bit ragid .. so I made their armour look well used ! 8)

I finished up the first guy from my Custom Chapter .. Dusk Wolf Lightning Claw Terminator

I really like the darkening in the corners on the rhino. is that just a wash?

Thanks .. All of the fading was done with the airbrush and then the final details were done with weathering powders. The really dark areas are from the powders .. I wanted it to have a real worn and dirty look 8)

New Style Prism..

Very different paint styles between the Eldar and BA vehicles. Both look fantastic. There are lots of great details on every BA model that truly makes it unique. Great work overall.

I am LOVING your BA space marines! I love the blue affect on the jump packs. How do you get your Red to stand out like that? when I painted a BA the red was very VERY dark. I did use a Black undercoat but I had about 2 layers of red

I wanted them to really have their own seperate style but I guess I wasn't paying attention as they looks more similar then I wanted .. except for the guy in green haha.. so now I'm going to have to make a squad that looks similar and a squad that is completely seperate .. Your painting and color choices are stunning. VERY nicely done.

I think they might stand out more if you didn't paint their masks purple... It's too in-keeping with your army's scheme.

I think Rangers are also the one Eldar unit on which weathering and battle damage are permissable; these guys are out in the wilds for ages without any support from their fellows after all.

Ofc that brings on a debate as to exactly what wraithbone looks like if the paint comes off... or if wraithbone is even painted... I am not sure. If wraithbone is made in the colour of the armour itself then I guess damage wouldn't show (since wraithbone heals itself slowly), but you could always have a scorched patch around where the wraithbone has healed back in its normal bone-colour.

@ Henners - The funny thing is I have painted then with time and models in between so I didn't even think about it to I had them all standing together. The next unmatching set will be completely different for sure. And I agree about the weather part but I usually make my Space Marines look worn and torn. I like the Eldar looking tidey .. like they are just to uppity for dirt to even stick .. 8) .. For the Wraithbone I usually just use umber and sepia to make it look a little aged .. It's Psi Material so I'm sure they keep up on it and unlike us humans they know how to build and fix their stuff 8) I'm just bad at staying on one thing at a time so I think my ADD throws me off sometimes haha .. Thanks for the comments and ideas!

I'm running a Kill Team Event on April 1st and want to run a squad of Scorpions so I finished up the 5 man squad for the game. I'm happy with their outcome .. I love the old school models but I may pick up a set of the new ones as I do like the sculpts on the new helms...
I should have done the group shot on something darker but I had the boarding planks sitting there so just grabbed them 8)

I finished up another Pathfinder, I'll be playing a Kill Team Event this weekend and didn't want to use the guy I'm working on for the Diorama. Here's the new guy and his Kill Team Posse ..







While pulling some of the guys off the shelf I pulled down the first real conversion model I had made... this guy dates back to 1995 and is still one of my Fav's .. joined two sets of wings and Barrohoths gun barrel, was a pain back in the day with the wings metal and using white model putty to clean the seams.. I have enough to make a whole squad of these guys but haven't sat down to do it. The first gen sculpts of the Hawks is still my favorite.

Excelent painting here, but im just stunned how you paint white colour, especialy dimos rhino is stunning, would you like to share what color is it over what undercoat??And what colour do you use to shade it?to mee it seems like diluted gryphone sephia wash but i guess that ll not be the case as the surface is super smooth. Anyway +1 internet point form me as your models are excelent;-)

The sharpness of the colours is great, the blood angels armour really stands out well.

The rainbow of colours used on the eldar is fantastic. Better representation of the crazy colour imagery I would expect for the eldar. Not keen on the duel colours used on the hulls of the eldar vehicle's but that's personal choice.

@ Anakonda - I fade my vehicles using an aribrush and usually do run a lot of fade blends. I use Comm Art colors, their Trans Red is awesome and very vibrant. 8)

haha thanks .. hope it helps .. it just takes some time and you'll get it down.

I use my airbrush to clear them now. Typically it's Liquitex and they have Gloss down through to matte.. I usually hit it with gloss for protection then spray it with matte to bring down the shine.

Finished up my DC Squad, I wrapped up the final two squad members last night. I realized after I had put my airbrush away that some still have a bit more sheen then I'd like. I'll have to go back and hit them with matte. But otherwise all done up..

I entered a few things in Games Day Chicago this year and even though I ran out of time on the Diorama it made it to the final round which is nice .. there are a few things that I would have liked to put more time into but I think it looks good .. Here's the finished up Pathfinder Diorama .. I wanted him to be blended into his background other then his armour and helm popping out ..

It's been awhile .. family time taking over .. 8) But I knocked out a squad of scouts real quick. I started working on some Dark Angels to mix it up.. I'm going to put together a small DA force. With my time being limited the rank and file will be table quality. Thankfully I can rock these out pretty quick..

and my Converted Seer is pretty much done. I'm still in debate on what I want to do for the cloak. I'm thinking of smaller runes along the hem of his cloak. I don't won't it to get to cluttered as there is a lot going on.
It's part Isle of Blood Mage, Seer Helm, Eldrad's Rune Armor, Banshee arm and ShurCat Pistol (with green stuffed sleeve), Jain Zar's Executioner's Blade, other assorted Green Stuffs ..

Like the color scheme, the base, and the rune on his back looks awesome.

I'm good mate. Been out the game for a few months myself but real life is starting to settle down a little now and I'm back to chopping plastic. The Vanguard is looking nice as usual.

@ Luther - Thanks man,. I love the way the new Dar Flyers look. Sadly they are easily knocked out of the sky haha .. I wanted them to look a little different from each other but now I might add some kind of design to the other one. Sitting side by side make the first one a little too plain without a little more something added so it might get some of the grey treatment as well!

I love the use of the warlock purple on the Wraithknight!

@ Lord Scy - Thanks, I want the Ghost Units to have a darker feel. Going to start moving that way with the colors for all the Wraith stuff in my army. 8)

Beautiful army. I enjoyed painting the Sanguinary Guard. I also did a High Executioner in Sanguine color scheme. Blood Angels or Space Wolves are the only SM armies I could bring myself to run. Chaos rules.

Ah man, they look great. I think I remember seeing these guys as bare plastic ages ago - they must have been in your 'to do' tray for a while!

@ Luther - you are too right. I built a ton of DWs but really haven't touched them since. Sadly. Every time I looked at the two counts as Marked I'd really want to paint them and get them finished. So I wanted to paint up a few before I made a how to for them so I actually remembered how I did it haha.. Thanks!

Finished up one of the Dusk Wolf Emperor's Guard I've been working on. Heavily mucked up as he trudges through the snow! I think he came out looking pretty good,..

I finished up a few of the Dusk Wolves Vehicles.. well I finished up the Land Raider then had to re finish the Deimos to mach the new mucked up look I went with .. I'm really feeling like they have the look I was going for so pretty happy with them .. 8)

So after the airbrush / pigments you went back over them with oil washes?

I frequent these forums quite a bit, especially with my career and workflow.

it's not often I post, simply because I just enjoy stopping into this thread area and gazing over all the wonderful artistry that people post for us to see.

I must admit, this quite possibly has been my absolute favorite. I'm not sure what it is, but it suits me perfectly. It's grunge, it's beaten, it's weathered and they are just raw.

Loving your skills bro, it's fantastic to see such great artwork and thanks for sharing this it's inspirational.

@Luther - Yup 8) I was looking at them and thought they still needed something .. so I made them a little dirty.. I've tried to make up a how to for you like three times but I keep changing how I paint them haha... I've been trying to take pics of one guy I've been working on so I can make one up finally.

@ Sadistic - Huge Thanks man.. I'm glad they are instilling that raw feeling. I wanted them to look like they are all business, plus white always seems to get dingy no matter now much you wash it so figured the paint would start to discolor with age. Thanks again
