Hey Dakka!
I just came across this bits company online a few days ago and thought I'd share it! I'm thinking of building some cool Chaos obliterator conversions with the track kit and true scale termie torsos. The plasticard work is amazing!!!! I definitely don't have the patience and steady enough hand to do this!!! Go check it out!

Those are presumably masters, not the castings (resin or metal?) which will be for sale. They do look nice thought, would be great for a variety of artillery and robots and small vehicles...

There aren't many pics on the webstore but there are some more pics of the Terminator armor on the blog at this website.

Looks like they are in high demand and I just put in an order for some along with the tracked recon kit. Looks like he is also working on some knight titans and other crusader heavy robot unit but has no pics up. I'm very curious to see what tose turn out to be!!!

I ordered a set of his truescale termies last week, so I'll let people know what they're like when they arrive.
At the moment he's working on a limited-run Knight Titan (20 in total) - sorely tempted to get one, but I'll see how it comes out and at what price point

These true scale terminator legs and torsos:- £31 (contains 5x Torso, 5x Legs, 5x Helmeted Head, 10x Shoulder Pads)
GW terminators:-£28 (Complete kits for 5 terminators including weapons)
Chapterhouse True scale Marine kit:- £14 (contains 6 torsos, 6 legs, 6 backpacks, 12 shoulder pads)
In other words, Chapterhouse pumps out more resin product at less than half the price.

But the Chapterhouse marine kits are for standard marines and not terminations... I have paid $38 for a Squad of 10 Space Marines but $50 for a squad of 5 termies.... You could make the same arguement that GW is ripping us all off but its for diff units... IDK... it didnt seem that obscene to me... And this hobby on a budget is a tough one.... so for me, i guess it fits my wallet just fine
*PLUS have you used Chapter House Products? A few things i have gotten have just seems way too cheap and brittle... I wasn't too impressed with the resin from them but thats just me... The owner mentioned in the email that the casts are almost 1 Oz of resin each model. So seems like it will be a better product that Chapterhouse.. Ill know when I get them i guess!!

I don't buy that these kits are substantially different enough from Chapterhouse to carry the increased price tag. I also own a number of the Chapterhouse true scale kits, and found them perfectly fine.

All I'm seeing are potential base miniatures for some home-made Obliterators. They actually look very similar in size to the metal Oblits that I cut up to actually stand up straight, and it shouldn't be too hard to source some arms and heads for them.
Might have to place an order next payday.
40837
Post by: Kellz1234
That's exactly what I see them for Cheexsta! I'm not really into the truescale stuff... I was just looking for something much larger to start with and I'm a lazy bum and don't have the time to scratchbuild my own base models! I'm planning on turning them into a couple of oblits and possible some special characters for my Nurgle army!
Im excited to start seeing what people are doing with these kits as it looks like they are going to be used for more than just the truescale stuff.
@RiTides - You really dont think they look good?? They seem on par with what i've seen from other 3rd party companies... I was never too impressed with Chapter House stuff myself so hopefully these are much better than them. You must just hold a much higher standard than I when it comes to custom made, conversion parts....

That is a big downside to the over-eagerness by GW legal. After the unfortunate results with the recent true scale crusaders it just seems like you can't really play it safe anymore and wait to get a good evaluation on parts like this.
That's why I ended up ordering a 5 kit and a 3 kit, cause for all I know it will be gone by next week.

The arms from stock termies look a bit small for my taste, but that's pretty cool. I might have to pick up one or two (read: a whole lot) of those.

I nabbed 5 of the torsos and legs for the same reason. I'm going to use the large ornate shoulder pads from Anvil Industries with my project. It's a pitty that not many of the Third Party companies make termy arms or heads (as buying termy parts from bits sites are expensive)

I like those shoulder pads from Anvil! Thats gonna look great! Im pretty pumped to start seeing these pop up in the dakka galleries. Should be some really cool conversions that start showing up. I do agree about the arms and heads too! Im making some Obliterators with mine so green stuff is going to be my new best friend for this project.....
Its too bad that GW has step on the little guy in these situations and force them to stop producing this kind of stuff...Don't get me wrong, I love GW and FW products but I wish little companies like Three Stage Studios could still keep producing stuff like this to please the true scale modelers and converters out there.
Sounds like they are almost sold out too so you better act quick if you people want some!!!

Well, those would go wonderfully with the Chapterhouse tru-scale "knights" I just got...
EDIT: Guess the molds are about worn out. Sadly I wont have the $$ in time to get some. I will say I think it would be pretty stupid if they didnt make another set of molds to continue production, as they are obviously selling well.
40837
Post by: Kellz1234
The think the blog mentioned somewhere that they were scaled to be the proper size compared to true scale power armor.
And I don't think it's as much the molds as it is the c&d letters being sent out...no one really knows how long they will be sold for...keep an eye out for them I guess....

Interesting... thanks for the update. I actually just put together two more TS guys for my defunct Deathwatch game and was just wondering earlier this evening how I would ever do a terminator. I just kitbash termie and regular kits together for mine so the added bulk on this kit actually helps differentiate the fig from my TS power armor guys. I do think though that I'd have to do something with the arms as they do look a bit T-Rex-ish as is. Either way, thanks for the comparison pics!

Nice review d-usa! Pretty good comparrison shots. I've been lazy and have had no time to get any pics up of my WIP obliterators but rest assured! They are looking pretty schweet!
A little update too.. Looks like the guy at TSS that is selling them just recently had a loss in the family and is a little behind. I only received part of my order and got an email back saying they will be a little behind on sending stuff out. So not sure if anyone else has had a delay but its understandable...
Anyone else have any pics of these? I need a little inspiration on some poses for them!

I think the concept is neat, but I find the execution quite poor. Specifically, the leg piston things are very blobby and have soft detail, they don't even connect all the way on the sides, and the poses are very static and lifeless, and even the proportions seem off by quite a bit.
I like the scale of them; as I'd like to get Obliterators at some point and find the GWS ones to be terrible, but these aren't the counts-as Obliterators I am looking for (waves hand).

Rise from the dead!
Ummmm this is interesting. They decided to go really big all of the sudden.
TS7-B Crusader Heavy Assault Robot
$80.00
On sale right now are a very limited number of what can easily count as Knights or other large scale robots in many wargames. The model stands a bit over 7 inchs tall and will need at least a 200mm base (not included).
The set comes with:
2 Heads (only one style pictured)
2 Styles of Shoulder Pads (only one style pictured)
2 Weapon Arms
1 Ion Cannon
1 Chain Blade Arm
1 Torso
1 Waist
2 Upper Legs
2 Knee Pads
2 Lower Legs
2 Feet
Items are in stock at only 4 sets and will not require casting on order. First come, first serve.

Unfortunately, doesnt the first "Head" style look familiar?

If you're waiting on an outstanding order, send him an email (even if you've sent one before) - I've been talking to him quite often and he seems like a decent guy, but he's quite prone to getting swamped, especially with some of the personal stuff he's had to deal with) just check in and see what he says. He's not on Dakka but I've directed him here.
As for the composition of the Knight, it doesn't look good for him, but I'm not really a fan of the design anyway. Still, $80 isn't a massive amount for a knight titan, even if you just use it as a base
EDIT: Ah, it's not his design, it's a design someone else made for him to sell through his store - so if it's a shameless ripoff, it's someone else's shameless ripoff!
Not sure if that's a good idea, but at least it explains the style/tone disparity between the big kit and the small ones

My thoughts as well. Seven inches is a bit tall for a knight so chopping out about an inch of that torso height (and shortening the arms) could bring the proportions closer to the original Epic knight.

Not to be mean(well ok, to be mean) that is a terrible titan model. My 4 year old comes up with better stuff with his legos.
There is nothing about it that is good. The head is clearly a lego head, the waist is a joke, the legs are scaled up power armor, and the arms are flimsy.

I would seriously tell no one to buy this item! I have seen this particular model, this exact picture online for a couple of years at least. If this is some kind of scam, which I really hope it is not, it is a pretty bad one! I mean, recast bionicle bits and GW stuff does not equate to a good model.

Recasting components (as opposed to complete sculpts), particularly when they are being used in a different form to the original, is a bit of a legal grey area.
A lot of cinema models are made from kit-bashing other model kits and then casting the end result.
Having said that, waving a red flag like that in front of Games Workshop and Lego does seem a little brash.

$15.00The TS4-A Tracked Cyborg Recon Unit fits on a 40mm base or larger and is suited for a 28mm scale setting.
This complete kit contains everything needed to build a full TS4-A.
Parts brake down on a complete kit:
2x Tracks
1x Lower Track Body
1x Optional Front Armor Plate
1x True Scale Heavy Armor Torso
1x Helmeted Head
2x Shoulder Pads
1x Power Ram
1x Power Claw

Almost every vehicle in the original Star Wars movies were essentially kitbashes of existing model kits, which were slapped together and then recast in copper(plastic would melt under the heat of movie lighting during close ups).
Tamiya and Revell should sue George Lucas.
Granted, it would be a grim task to try and identify where each piece of the Millenium Falcon came from.
Still, if I was Lego, I'd be suing this guy for making such a terrible model with my parts. Perhaps if it was cool then Lego wouldn't mind so much.

That is, indeed, the legal grey area.
Regardless, this isn't a matter of taking items from one medium and selling it as another medium.
This is taking parts of a model and selling it as another model; it's the same medium.
It's like ripping parts of popular songs, shoving it on repeat, and applying bad rappin... oh, nevermind...
