0.0 They charge $50 for that? Feth, I must have three complete boxes of it in my loft, not including the ones that aren't. I guess charity shops are a little win where I live.

^^ A guy at my wargaming club's been after them since last year, so unfortunately if I ever think to shift them they'll be going towards his collection. Though seriously, I gave up buying them because they appear so commonly in charity shops. Oxfam Records seems to be where all the sci fi related items are sent (like the first few hundred White Dwarf issues for £4-"if you can carry that crate home on your own their yours"), so if you happen to have one of them in the US I'd have a gander there.

IIRC, I spent about 5 bucks for a lot of Simtac figs. Had some random sci-fi humans and a full set of the 5 or so space dwarves that Bob Olley (who also sculpted many of the Squats) had sculpted for them.

When I abandoned my plan for a Squat army, I think I eventually sold the Set of Space Dwarves for $40 bucks or so!

This is a bargain?

Let me know if anyone else wants a bargain like this.

Also, I just bought 500 magnets for $0.99. Even with $8 shipping, it's a decent enough deal (normally ~$10 for 100, + shipping).

oni wrote:AoBR Dreadnought on sprue + AoBR Terminators on sprue, all for like $40.00 iirc.

But AOBR costs $99 USD, with average discount its $80

we minus -$10 for rule book, -3 for template and dices leave $67 for the miniatures itself.

divide it by the 2 sides = $33.50 USD for ALL the Space Marine stuff o_o
which is $7 less, and you get 1 extra tac squad and 1 captain >.<

Stuff like that tends to be the "big ticket" items from the starter sets. If you look at Battlewagon Bits to provide the "outlier" prices...it's marked at $29.99 and $27.99 for those two pieces(Dread is $29.99, Terminators $27.99).

So $40 for both? That's not too bad at all.

I have managed to accrue 8 mk1 rhinos, 4 mk1 predators and over 80 RTB marines and 20+ RTB Imperial Guardsmen. I can't remember prices I paid for individual bits, but any time I spy a bargain, complete or otherwise, I pounce. The various bits have, fortunately, complemented each other and rounded out previous incomplete sets. Now I have a huge collection just nagging away saying, "paint me, paint me."

That is so lucky.

The worse for me is like get 10 ork bikes for $10 and then lose all the bids on the wheels.
Then I have to wait for months to win a bid for the wheels since everyone buys it for conversions and prices sky rockets ;_;

Ive picked up most of my stuff on ebay.

60 space marines and ten Space marine scouts for £17 with some bits sprues

They are of varying quality and state of repair and all of they need some paint stripping but all in all a decent deal I feel.

Four dark angel bikes £12 undercoated white only the eyes painted

10 imperial guard shock troopers and ten fire warriors £13 both unpainted though the guard have a fair bit of glue on them I will need to remove.

Any tips on glue removal?

Well ya know I wanted to be able to post on this thread...so this morning... I usually nose around for eldar stuff every couple of days but with the weekend I didn't have a chance to. I came onto an auction that was just closing out. So for $110 USD (purchase and shipping to Cali) I got.

11 Swooping Hawks
14 Dire Avengers plus an unopened box
5 Rangers
5 Support Weapons
5 Dark Reapers
about 14-16 Guardians
11 Fire Dragons
FarSeer

I'm so very pleased because

I really wanted some Dark Reapers
and more Fire Dragons.
I needed one last box of DAs too.
The hawks make 3 full squads (although I'm not sure I'd use that many ever).
I've got the Farseer, but I previously lost his head. So yay.
I've never had the new Rangers.
and the guardians and support weapons always welcome.

It was kinda like someone read a wishlist of mine and decided to fill it. And none of it is FineCast (which I'm still leary about buying). Happy belated Easter!

I can see where that would hurt.
Sadly, it's because your trade partner didn't know how to take care of you while still being honest.
gaming stuff sent internationally should be called, "Used Toy Game [WXYZ]." Where it says [WXYZ], replace it with what you're sending; books, pieces, models, etc. The Key is to get USED, TOY and GAME in there. Those are typically fee free until you hit a certain value (which varies by country).
Nobody I've ever sent anything to has ever come back to me and said they got hit with fees, and I've sent hundreds of dollars worth of stuff at once. Especially in Canada & the UK, where it seems most prevalent.

It was the only one available at the time, therefore the guy selling it had no previous "this is 200 dollars" to match or only slightly undercut. So they put it at 30 bucks and I stumbled across it at about 2am, still hadn't sorted out an amazon account here since moving to the States, so I had to wake the wife to ask her to log in and purchase it. Fortunately she's a saint.

(and... it's in near mint condition...)

For the whole lot of course (read the stereotypical cheap Scottish bloke). I've found that they're a bit scattered about my house now. Last night I came upon issues from between 16 and 84 beneath my bed in a pile, so I'll assume the rest are elsewhere. However I'm thinking of keeping onto them for a good while for posterirty and ahem, profit (judging by the prices on ebay right now I've no reason to sell out just yet). ^^

May have been what his friend asked for on it-I had a guy on bartertown ask $50 for 10 Diaz Seekers. I bought em up fast, not telling him they were worth ~$200. Then again, it should be different when a friend offers a ridiculously lowball asking price.

The best ones, to date, were when I was getting Necron Warrior Sprues, roughly a year before the big update. The best one I ever received was an NOS Warriors and Scarabs for $12. The most I ever paid for one box, I think, was $24. Not bad, I think, considering I was just beginning to collect 40K.

I may have gotten the best deal ever on bay. Payed $600.00 usd for a giant 80lb box of bitz from Canada. When the dust settled after I sorted it all up I ended up with :

Close to 200 Space marines with ccw and pistol options and about 40 jump packs, loads of weapon bitz
80+ metal minis including 2 scout squads, death wing terminators, dark angels marines, 4 chaplains, 2 emperors champs, and assorted sm
20 metal devastator weapon sets, including heavy bolsters, plasma cannons, multi melts and las cannons
4 predators, 6 rhinos, 3 land raiders and a land speeder
120 metal black Templar shoulders
4 devilish , 1 hammerhead
6 metal steathsuits and 12 metal pathfinders
25 kroot warriors and a krootox
46 firewarriors and bitz
8 crisis suits
30 Cadians, 20 catachans, 4 heavy weapons teams
20 csm and alot of bitz
1 defiler
A crapload of zombies, chaos marauders, lizaerdmen, and some high elves
A large amount of classic oop metal tank parts like razorback turrets and a demolisher cannon.
3 oop rhinos
10 metal raveners, 10 tyranid warriors, 30 termagaunts , 30 hormogaunts, 20 genestealers
About 12 terrain pieces( mostly fish tank pieces but really good ones)
And finally about 50 issues of white dwarf, hard cover 4ed rule book, lots of codexes( old and new) , 4 chapter approved books, and a hard cover art book.
Crap, , almost forgot the 5 dreadnaughts

Phew! I guess the seller was a bit of a plastic addict. 5 years later and I haven't finished half the stuff. I ended up with 2000 point Black Templar army, a second mixes chapter marine army, 2000 points of tau, and I filled out a tyranid and csm army on top of that.

Quite happy with my recent ebay purchases, got 5 Raiders and 3 Ravagers, all the old OOP models for over £50 less than Darkspheres 25% price (including postage on both totals). Also got 2 Blaster warriors and an old Archon (to use as Vect) for very cheap as well.

My best eBay bargain was probably a really nicely converted metal treeman for just over £6. Really bad photo on the listing, but when it turned up the model's lovely. Since painted it up and he's now taking pride of place in my Wood Elves =)

Epic Eiryss NIB (the new MK2 blister at that) for $9.99 with free shipping was my most recent snag. Only a couple bucks off the discount sites, but the free shipping was the clincher for me, as that cost generally eats up the discount I can get locally on purchases less than $50.00.
