And we dont know that we are a lost portion of mankind. We think that we are all alone in this massive galaxy. A massive world wide war errupts and all of earths greatest armies are defeated. (Us marines, royal marines, us army, ect....) now as a surviving member of the chaotic blood bath of a war. What do you do? You have the option to join a sect of the imperial guard, if youre still young enough and theyre taking initiates do you join a space marine chapter.... or do you fight to the death, claiming jesus christ as your lord savior? ( just an example use whatever religion you are and think about it that way)
Now say you do join a sect. Are you mentally prepared for the atrocities and horror of the grim world of 40k?

Sign up with the IG and become cannon fodder at some distant world?
Get recruited by the astartes and if by some chance you survive the 95% chance of dying in the trials to become an initiate, go on to several lifetimes of fighting just to die in battle somewhere or get yourself stuck inside a metal case with arms and legs then die at some future battle?
Think i'll just stay in my basement's basement till recruitments over

So I'd say go challenge them to a game and see what happens.... if they identify the models of your army...

If were all Pariahs, the Inquisition will step in. They will convert us and turn as into a military force. As Pariahs are the Imperium rarest resource and one of their greatest if not best weapon against chaos.
Imagine a space marine chapter of nothing but pariahs, they might even put the grey knights to shame when fighting daemons. Also Pariahs are the rarest of the temple assassins (due to the low number). So we would be able to increase their ranks.

Pariahs is also a term that can be used for humans. As humans have something called a Pariah gene.

I think from the perspective of the new fluff you are correct (although even then you may be thinking of Psilencer cannon, not Psycannons). Iirc, in the old deamon hunter fluff Psycannon rounds were anti warp bolts (hence the fact that they ignored invulnerable saves. Most deamons have only an invo save) and were anointed with pariah....juice? gooey remains? and sacred oils etc.

I will quote the new Daemon Hunter Codex for Psybolt Ammunition: "Psybolts are silver-tipped, psychically charged shells, used in storm bolters and similar weapons. When fired, each bolt becomes imbued with a portion of the Grey Knight's innate psychic power, causing it to glow with an eerie blue light, and strike home with significantly greater force then an ordinary round of its type."

Talk by some people about fighting against Imperial forces undertaking this glorious reunion is nothing but treason, and as for the rest, open demonstration of distinct lack of enthusiasm for honourable service in Imperial Guard is almost as bad as treason. Pariahs are humans who are born without a soul. They have no psychic presences which causes them to negate the warp. Daemons and psykers will have a much harder time using their powers while a Pariah is near them or even maintaining themselves in real space. Pariahs will also be immune to psychic powers to a certain degree. Pariahs will also do crazy things to nids and orks. Ork weapons will start jamming and their vehicles may stop working as the Pariah cancels out their psychic powers that causes these technology to work and they will block out the Tyranid synpase.
In the end we are to valuable of weapon/resource to be destroyed. The Inquisition would probably keep our home planet a secret and come every so often to recruit like a billion of us and let the rest of us repopulate while working under Imperial Rule.

Yes, because they aren't really as common as the internet makes them out to be. Automatically Appended Next Post: Necrosis wrote:Pariahs are humans who are born without a soul.
Technically speaking, you refer to Blanks. Pariahs generally refer to the Necron construct, which turns a Blank human in to a living weapon. Also, Blanks DO have a soul. It's a "negative" soul as it were. The scale of psychic powers goes from Blank to Dull (normal human) to Psyker, essentially. I'll go look it up and post it in a moment.

Omega-Minus
-- Culexis Assassin level blank. These are capable of willingly weaponizing their Blank souls essentially as an anti-psyker.
Omega
-- Proper Blanks. Their souls manifest as a small region of "blankness" (thus the term) surrounding the individual, and no psychic powers or warp creatures can penetrate this space. Warp creatures already in realspace have an extremely difficult time maintaining their manifestations around them. This unfortunately also has an impact on other humans, making them have an irrational fear or loathing of the blank.*
Psi / Chi / Phi / Upsilon
-- Increasing levels of immunity or resistance to psychic powers, with Psi being almost a Blank, and Upsilon being almost normal.
Tau / Sigma
-- Not related to the Tau race, although the description of their souls makes them generally within this range. These individuals are insensitive to the warp and its manifestations, but have no particular resistance and are otherwise normal.
Rho / Pi
-- Normal human being.
Omicron / Xi / Nu / Mu / Lambda / Kappa
-- Increasing levels of psychic power, but none of them are actually consciously activating their powers. They oftentimes show up as being particularly lucky, or having particular strength in high stress situations, or simply having a set of fluke occurrences that keep them alive.
Iota / Theta / Eta
-- Conscious psychic powers, moderate power strength, etc. the weakest of true psykers are here, although some of the weaker ones (such as Lambda and Kappa) may be able to train themselves up to this level.
Zeta / Epsilon
-- A high level of psychic power, this requires much more attention from the Imperial authorities.
Delta / Gamma
-- One in a billion human births might give one of these powerful individuals. Death or possession is the most common route for them unless they are discovered immediately.
Beta / Alpha
-- The most powerful mortal psykers, and oftentimes killed on sight. The Imperium does not believe that Mankind is ready for this kind of psychic power. The ones that are allowed to live are mentally unstable at best.
Alpha-Plus
-- Be afraid. Be very afraid.
*I should write a story about a Blank being inspired to become a Batman style character.

I'd probably attempt to build up a cell of co-conspirators, then ask to be transferred to a different department, or volunteer to be transferred. Then over time build up a cell of co-conspirators there. I would repeat this over a decade until I had around 5-6 cells.
In the meantime my 5-6 cells composing between 3 and 4 people would go out and develop their own cells, corrupting the whole civil service and Administratum on Earth.
I have no chance of overthrowing the Imperium, but I could corrupt the Administratum so that Earth is given a better deal than most other planets. We could use the wide corruption to change the amount sent on military drafts, make lives better for the Terrans, and generally get us the best possible deal.
In the end we might be able to have an Earth with no internal wars, only a minimal draft/resource payment, and protection from the Imperium.
This could actually work out to our benefit. =D

Talk by some people about fighting against Imperial forces undertaking this glorious reunion is nothing but treason, and as for the rest, open demonstration of distinct lack of enthusiasm for honourable service in Imperial Guard is almost as bad as treason.
I, for one, welcome our glorious overlord and will be amongst the first to sign up in Planetary Defence Force, as soon as Imperial administration sets one up.

Inspire to be a Commissar.. Die trying.
Earth chapter of astartes lol that would be interesting, us of dakka dakka the most suited for such a honorable task.
Descendent chapter of Ultramarines. Cuz why not? Need gene-seed from somebody lol.
I'll take the 99% fatal attempt to become a space marine.. Death seems to be the only outcome here I rather just attempt to be a Demi-god if I have the choice.

I would probably try to get one of the invading Space Marines into a GWS.
Does this mean that the fluff writers are all latent psykers?

I would join as Guardsmen or Space Marine.
Our race is facing danger from all sides and it is our duty to oppose those threats and destroy them.

Well being in the Marines I would probably die in the attack.
Due to our advanced military's world wide I wouldn't b surprised if they sent the space marines in to defeat us. I think as soon as our planet surrendered most of what was left of our military would be inducted as the 1st Sol SOG. I could see earth being training grounds for Storm troopers\ commissars\sisters of battle . I forgot what they called those schools so sorry about that. The imperium would have a lot to learn from us military wise because the depth of the imperiums tactics is pretty much "clog the enemy's' gun muzzles with your flesh" we would probably become another Cadia minus a certain eye of terror.

Since I already bear the Mark of Chaos, I'm pretty sure my life would be both short and extremely unpleasant.

Hmm... I'll try again...
1) Accept Emperor as lord and saviour.
2) Apply for some boring and unimportant job in Adeptus Administratum.
3) Never have to face any Ork, Daemon, Tyranid, Inquisitor, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Tau or other horrible things (hopefully).
Sounds better.
Democracy would be suicidal in the 41st millennium.
