For several millennia, the supreme tyrant Asdrubael Vect has been the undisputed ruler of the dark city of Commorragh, crushing any who would dare displease him. His reach is long, with eyes everywhere, his position is secure. The horrors the great tyrant has unleashed on those houses that stood against him serve as a constant reminder to all the twisted Kabals, commiting genocide on an already dyieing race. He uses his immeasurable power not to glorify the eldar, but to drag them further into oblivion, devouring souls, to stave off the attention of She Who Thirsts. The greatest and most powerful Kabals are but a grain of sand, compared to Vect. His rise to power has been brutal and slow, creating and destroying countless enemies during his ascension. He grows more powerful each day, as Kabals provide thousands of slaves so as not to displease him. Ultimate ascension awaits, in a pantheon of ruling powers as old as the stars themselves. Noble houses have grown weary of living in the shadow of the god like entity of Asdrubael Vect.
Mighty spires of dark metal pierce the sub atmosphere of Commoragh, the hidden city. Commorragh is split up into regions, and these regions are controlled by Kabals. Members of those Kabals live in and police these regions, as the existence of their Kabal depends, to a large degree, on maintaining districts for its members to live in. Traditionally, Wych Cults maintain Battle Coliseums in the districts of Kabals they're allied with, Haemonculi are given laboratories (usually underground) within the districts of Kabals they provide their services to, and Mandrakes will be given the right to prowl the streets and alleys in search of meals in some cases in return they agree to assist the Kabal of the region when requested.
This is a Commorragh based RP.Players are encouraged to create any player they want except for: Tyrand/Necron. Players who aren't Dark Eldar, will start the game as slaves, housed in the pits by Haemonculus, or in the battle arenas of the Wych cults. Obviously players who choose to pick a Dark Eldar will have a massive advantage, and players who choose a noble will be even more powerful.
Players who become too powerful will gain the full attention of the Great Tyrant Vect, while players who are too careless risk being taken down by an opposing house or even a hired assassin.
Regions Of Commorragh
High Commorragh. Consisting of the highest spires, and home to the elites of Dark Eldar Society, it is a place of great luxery for the ruling class.
Low Commorragh. Once the trading district before Vects rise to power, it now lies in poverty and ruin. Overcrowded with beasts, mercenaries, scavengers, slaves and shadow beings. It is an extremely dangerous place to travel unescorted.
Middle Darkness. Between High Commorragh and Low Commorragh, the skies of the Middle Darkness are plagued by gangs of Hellions who constantly battle one another
Hidden Blade. An outer district of Low Commorragh, massive fortress walls protect hangers of Razorwing Jetfighters and Voidraven bombers for the purpose of protecting the vital ports.
Port Carmine. Second most important star port in Commorragh, it hosts a dazzling array of spacecraft. Warfleets representing various kabals battle endlessly over the control of the port
Port of Lost Souls. Largest port in Commorragh, it is the principle port from which slaves are sold.
River Khaides. An acid-green polluted waterway and full of corpses, many impoverished citizens recover the bodies, and attempt to sell them as slave food.
The Sprawls. Consisting of the wartorn ruins around Port Carmine, it is home to the Parched, Dark Eldar who have fallen from grace and into poverty and no longer have tormented souls to feed upon
Sec Maegra. Also known as the Null City, it is a nation-sized shanty town permanently engulfed in civil war between rival gangs, assassins, and xenos mercenaries. From time to time Kabals may recruit from the gangs of Sec Maegra.
Bone Middens. Consisting of the outskirts of Aelindrach, they are inhabited by Wych Cults. The Bone Middens are home to a representative of each sentient species in existence, positioned in grim tableau's and mock battles. Millions of alien skeletons are put on display
Aelindrach. Literally fallen into shadow, it is one of the several districts of Commorragh that exists in more than one dimension at once. In Aelindrach, shadows thicken and writhe as living things, flowing into one another and attempting to capture those that venture into the district. It is Aelindrach that Mandrakes make their lairs. Rumor has it that somewhere in Aelindrach lies a portal to a world where shade-daemons exist who can freeze the soul with but a touch
Characters:
Archon: An Archon is the highest ranking member of a Dark Eldar Kabal. They are considered the single most powerful, ruthless, and cunning member of their Kabal, due to the fact that if there existed anyone who held greater ability in these aspects, they would no doubt kill their Archon and claim their title. Archons have huge resources at their disposal, but are watched constantly by Vect. They have access to the most powerful weapons, equipment, and artefacts available to their Kabal, and as such are frequently seen using amazingly advanced technologies when they deem it necessary to appear on the field of battle. Although some arcane items of Haemonculi or Incubi are restricted even from the archons, as powerful as they are.
Haemonculus: Dark Eldar Haemonculi are masters of pain and agony, no form of suffering is unknown to them. They proclaim that the infliction of this is one of the highest arts, if not the highest, and gleefully create choruses of screams and wails of agony whilst taking delight in every aspect of the discomfort of anyone unfortunate enough to fall under their blades. Like most Dark Eldar groups they form into factions, these are known as Haemonculi Covens. They have access to the most arcane and powerful weapons they can create, but often have to take the patronage of an Archon, so they can access their vast wealth.
Succubus: The Succubi are ruling elite of Wych Cults. They are impossibly beatiful and elegant as they stalk through the fiercest battles like they were born to it.Traditionally each of Wych Cults are ruled by three of these Succubi. One of them are keeping true power over cult as two other are constantly trying to outdo each other in magnificent gladiator spectacles. Unlike Archons of Dark Eldar Kabals, Succubi prefer straight decapitation when resolving their feuds, not twist of political knife
Incubi An Incubus is an elite Dark Eldar warrior, most commonly seen in service as an Archon's retinue in the field. Outside of combat, they act as personal bodyguards, protecting their client every second of the day.
Dracon A Dracon is the commander for a regiment of soldiers in a Dark Eldar Kabal. They are frequently seen leading their forces in large scale raids, or joining up with a raid currently in progress upon receiving word that considerable resistance has been met
Assassin Formidable even in a city of peerless killers, assassins are frequently employed by Kabals, and by anyone wealthy enough to pay the required price
Bounty Hunter/Mercenaries Wealth is easily obtainable for those gifted enough to grasp it. Bounty hunters employ dozens of contacts throughout the city, and often charge huge amounts when someone wants to find something.
Other Untold Trillions of souls wander the streets of Commoragh, from every edge of the galaxy. Some of the more gifted of these have even being able to scratch out a living as mercenaries and envoys.

Appearance: Tall, well built and strong with short black hair. Almost always seen wearing his ornate dark red armour and helmet.
Background: Very little is known about the dark eldar known as Cydre, the name is undoubtably a nickname he has given himself over the years. What is known about him though, is that he grew up and lives in the Sprawls. There, he has carved out a living, lending his substantial skills in combat to the highest bidder. 'As long as two dark eldar exist, one will want the other dead', is his most popular saying. Most of the time not spent on the job, he likes to hone his skills against rebelious Hellions and the numerous 'Parched' who haunt the area. No matter the mission, Cydre has never used combat drugs of any sort, he believes completly that they are for cowards and those who lack their own skill.
Personality: Unlike the vast majority of Dark eldar, Cydre is not particularly scheming, and very rarely holds a grudge or lasting hatred. That is not to say he isn't incredibly cunning and intelligent, and can make great elaborate traps and plans. Cydre is usualy cold and highly professional, it would take something amazing to put him off a job once he has it. Although he does not outwardly show it, Cydre takes great pleasure in the hunt, the feeling of hounding someone down and finaly ending them. The sign of his kill, is a finely-carved knife lodged in the spine of his headless victim.

Name: Thrace Kaidis
Race: Dark Eldar
Gender: Female
Role: Succubus
Cult name: The Shattered Mask
Appearance: Lithe, tall, well built. Seductive. Clad in armour decorated with gold that fades from a dark purple through reds and oranges to yellow.
Background: Borne amongst the petty slums and gang wars of Low Commorragh, Thrace was left for dead by her mother. She was illegitimate; created as the bastard offspring of the woman who had birthed her, her existence forged upon the very selfishness and greed that infest the souls of her kin. The infant was brought close to death; forced to murder her friends to sustain herself. The child grew up strong; she was a manifestation of shadow, able to run from wall to wall undetected, only to leap upon her unsuspecting quarry brandishing a makeshift dagger. As she entered her teens, survival became harsh. No longer was she a simple blight. To ensure her survival, she joined one of the many Hellion gangs clustered about the city like carrion birds. Drugs and stimulants began to take more and more of a hold on Thrace's mind, as she rose atop the petty gang of hoodlums and fought her own war. Noticing her skills, she was soon forced to join the Cult of the Shattered Mask. Upon her arrival, she quickly assassinated all those who dared stand in her way. Thrace's influence began to bloom as every Wych holding a position above her 'mysteriously disappeared'. Now she crowns the Cult, a drugged half-insane machine of destruction. She serves her Archon superiors with fickle loyalty, hoping one day to assassinate the noble and arrogant fools that head the Kabals, showing once and for all that skill beats pomposity.
Personality: Sneaky, seductive at times, grudge-bearing
Appearance: Tall, well built and strong with short black hair. Almost always seen wearing his ornate dark red armour and helmet.

An archon is the lord of a Kabal, and a Kabal "is a self-governing socio-economic paramilitary organization" and as such must number more than yourself. You cant have 100 influence, you could have between 60 and 80,only because your noble born and people like you.

I shouldn't really join, still got AotD to finish up and I need to focus my time on Deathwatch.
Still..
Then again you lot keep falling prey to the bandwagon effect, I don't have much faith in this one lasting very long with the recent track record I've seen.

We've been on our best behaviour, I swear, we just revived Iron Serpents...
I'll be posting an RP thread tonight, just got back from work and need a bit of rest beforehand.
I'll also post a few events, but it'll mostly be free play for a while.
If players can throw up their character sheets before they post in the RP thread, it would be appreciated
Character combat is inevitable and unavoidable. If this happens, feel free to use any dirty tricks to your advantage, but killing a player without any warning in a single post is not permitted (But attacking/injuring is allowed)

what you guys think???
edit: i added influence and age
I know this took a while, but it took this long for me to get the time / motivation to write it out xD This is the character I've created for my army, converted from Drycha and frankly, quite mad. (Insanity + some dementia, she rivals Vect for birthdays.)
Character Sheet: Name: Drychera
Race: Dark Eldar ( Haemonculi Ancient ) Gender: Female
Role: The Mistress of Flesh. ( Leads the ships and forces of the Coven of the Plagued Rat. )
Kabal name: Coven of the Plagued Rat
Appearance: Drychera is a tall, pale creature, with skin like smooth, living wood and a strange internal blue glow. Covered in thick bony plates with the appearance of old bark, she has large branch like protruberances coming from her back and her legs split into a writhing mass of root-like tentacles. Prefering to 'walk' naked, bar the plate growing from her skin.
Spoiler:
Background: Short: Drychera leads the Coven of the Plagued Rat from within the Thaxar Rift, researching ever more eccentric technologies. Is in Commoragh to get tech and mandrakes.
Long:
Spoiler:
Originally born to Eldar Nobility, one of the first children birthed after the fall within the pseudo space of Commoragh. While she grew, the Eldar were still reeling from the catastrophic events that created the Eye of Terror, and Commoragh was still forming into the Dark City it is today, her parents were very much set in the Old Ways.
While she was raised under the old ways, her greatest pleasures as a youngling involved stalking through the magnificent gardens of her families holdings, catching and torturing the rats and creatures that invested the city. She eventually started experimenting on them, stitching together her first monstrosities as a young woman. As things in the Dark City began to change, as the Dark Eldar began to form, She eventually became disillusioned by the 'Old Guard', joining one of the fledgling Flesh Cults and in turn becoming one of the first of what would become the Haemonculi. Moving in the shadows, learning from her kin and slowly perfecting her craft.
Continuing her love of creating abominations from rats, she experimented with combining the rodents with those unfortunate enough to cross her path, eventually perfecting genetic manipulation techniques to change her minions from Eldar or Man into a stooped man-rat creature. Decades after leaving, she returned to her families towers, leaving the shadows she had hidden in for so long, with an army of ratmen at her command. She swept the estate, claiming her heritage and giving her former family the option to either join her willingly as a fleshworker, or join her regardless as a member of her vermin forces.
For a time she was content, she had ample wealth and power, and a constant stream of subjects to experiment on. She set up magnificent laboratories among the trees and gardens she'd loved as a child, but eventually she grew bored and ultimately, turned on her own flesh, combining herself with the trees she found so glorious for so long, locking herself away until she felt she'd achieved perfection, combining as much of herself with the trees, as she did the trees to herself.
The addition of the plant like material to her flesh further warped her mind. She became restless, combining flesh and wood with those she thought slighted her to create Grotesques, and living trees with which she communes. Eventually, the trees became a Haemonculi in their own right, doing work alongside their mistress. Starting to make raids on realspace, where she first saw the Dark Eldars ancient Craftworld kin, and their psychic might.
Becoming obsessed with these eldritch powers yet knowing it was the one thing she could not pursue within Commoragh, she commisioned shipwrights to build massive engines and make her towers space worthy, turning her estates into 5 massive starships which left the dark city and took up residence in the Thaxar Rift. In their first centuries within the rift the Coven of the Plagued Rat spent hunting and studying human and eldar psykers, learning how their minds work, learning how their powers work. Then Drychera stumbled on to an impressive find. The site of a long finished battle between a craftworld and some unknown foe, but the prize was the burnt out hulk of the Craftworld. From this she was able to claim large amounts of Eldar psychic technology, including the iron statue of khaine from its heart.
The Coven now has a certain mastery over psyker slaves and their power, as well as the ability to awaken the stolen Avatar by sacrificing Eldar souls to its dark shell. Yet Drycheras madness drives her ever forward, hunting for more knowledge and more power.
She has returned to Commoragh to aqquire new technologies developed since her departure, and to capture some Mandrakes to use in her experiments, currently staying at the Tower of Flesh.
Personality: Drychera still holds herself with the nobility of her upbringing, yet coloured by the madness of the millenia she's spent fused with the trees in her flagship. She is high born, as old as they come within the Dark City and a Haemonculi of high standing, and expects to be treated with the fear and respect these legacies deserve, and is quick to introduce those who cross her to her trees.
Ack! I didn't realize people were posting here still!! Anywho, umm...
Blap, I guess if you want my character to pick yours up as a potential servant, then, sure. My character will be heading to the colliseum.
Yeah, Daemons and Psykers are a nono as it bring unwarranted attetnion from Daemons and other denizens of the warp.
I think last time an Archon brought some Daemons into Commoragh, Vect just dropped that bubble of the dark city out of the webway and out of existence...

Meh. Thought we needed more martial arty goodness. Now, who wants a bodyguard and can get me closer to Xiaral (The Archon that left everyone for dead... that was my fething Kabal, just as soon as I...)
So when do people post? Also, it might be better if my character is left outside any pivotal story arcs for a while, as I don't know if i'll be able to post next week (read tomorrow to friday).
Background: Born of two great bodyguards that guarded Archon Yllax of the Kabal of the Tortured Flame for hundreds of years, he had always been destined for a life of guarding. But when the Archon was killed in the material realm, the Kabal broke down into several groups. The group consisting of Sitza and his parents retained the original moniker. During the fighting for leadership, Sitza's parents were killed by a task force of Black Heart Trueborn, who absorbed the rest of the group into their Kabal. Sitza escaped into the Grand Canal. He joined the gladiator pits and rose to great fame, killing some of the most dangerous beasts of the galaxy. But he never forgot the group that killed his parents and vows to hunt them down one day.
Personality: He won't speak unless spoken to and is very respectful of those around him
By the way, who's the second assassin? I think my character is going to go after either of them in order to gain favor with Lady Antilis, but it would be preferrable if the second assassin is an NPC, I guess.
Since we're on the subject of death and whatnot, how do we decide if a character dies or not during a conflict between two PCs?

Well, Kabals Haemonculli can basically resurrect anyone as long as there's at least a sample left. So death wouldn't necessarily be final for a character
As far as combat, I'm not sure, supppose I can try and work out some system. I'd like it to be fairly brutal, but not easy whatsoever.

Really? In that case, I could maybe ask someone if they wouldn't mind being killed off and revived under my service?
sorry dont read this thread often i forget and the reason i escaped at the same time is because the guards where distraced with you so it was the proper time to do it

Sounds good, here's the quote from "Path of the Renegade" by Andy Chambers
"Firstly the body must be regrown. For this, the smallest fragment of the subject can be used - even ashes will suffice.........Secondly - the animating spirit must be recalled into the body and then nourished with suffcient pain and suffering of another"
Also, very nice intro Ovion
I'm going to be trying to post an event with the Queen of thorns tonight, things will be getting bloody.
Hope you don't mind, Robot, I have a wrack stalking you. For now, he won't do anything until circumstances dictate for something else. Don't worry, you'll probably be brought back to life if you're killed by me.
Hope you don't mind Temujin, I'm now tailing your wrack. He won't see me, hear me, etc. I'll intervene if Robot goes down; I have my priorities, and keeping Robot alive is one.
Right now, Izziath is trying to capture at least one of the assassins to present to the Queen, in order to get on her good side and perhaps get a good patron in return.
@liquidjoshi, alright. This actually might make things more interesting. How come you want Robot alive, out of curiosity?
Name: Triuthen
Race: Dark Eldar
Gender: Male
Role: Assassin
Kabal name: Freelance
Appearance: Almost exactly the same as any other high-born dark eldar, helping him to fit in amongst the nobles.
Background: Triuthen is not himself amazingly skilled, but rather has good friends that can easily make powerful equipment. He has an acid blade capable of killing any enemy in one swipe, a flickerfield hood to protect him from anything that could come his way, a cloak of pain to keep his senses sharp whenever he is going about an assassination, and a specialised warp-pack: Similar to a warp spider version, but allowing him to control exactly where and when he lands, although it can only be used three times before needing to be recharged.
Personality: Unlike most assassins who kill for money or fame, Triuthen kills simply because he is dark eldar, and that therefore he exists for nothing more. He feels that to be anything other than an assassin would be to pretend he were some kind of craftworld-dwelling freak. Little else is known, simply that when not asleep in some dark and hidden corner of the webway, he is out killing for enough money and nothing more.
Influence: 70
Actually, having read through all that's happened so far, it looks like there's already plenty of players and it's getting a little messy, so I probably won't join. I have others to do, anyway.
Background: Zogrob has been in Lower Commorragh for a few weeks now, were he had to function as slave, putting weapons together, wich is, rather dull, since he couldn't do anything exciting with those stoopid weapons. However, he has been able to smuggle some weapon pieces away over those weeks, and is busy creating his own real Ork weapon to show the slavedrivers who really is da Boss 'ere.
Personality: Orklike. So; brutal, aggrasive, but, due to being a mekboy, also enthousiastic for anything technical and, henceforth, he is able to put weapons together.
Being I love the idea of a dark eldar based RPG, I'm tempted to start my own (though this one would have stat-sheets and some rules so we can do combat a bit better ).
I'm back! Well, momentarily anyway. My access to the internet over the next few weeks will be periodic at best, so I really doubt I'll have time to GM this anymore. Really sorry for anyway enjoying it.
Feel free to continue it yourselves, or start an new one

I'd love to see a new one. I'm a big fan of Helions and Reavers so I'll probably be one of them.
