Not MY Deviantart folder, my favorites. Because those are so awesome. That was my fault, I do sound like I'm passing them off as mine, don't I? Better change that.
I enjoyed Sucker Punch for what it was - a longer than normal music video with cool special effects and 'moments' but not exactly what anyone would call a great 'movie'.
That 'T.A.G.' would fit in well in Infinity though!

Just because it looks cartoony/goofy and doesn't have much surface detail doesn't mean you can bash on it like that. It was good for a silly plot device.

.... what?
I rather like half of the Warjacks in the game.....
Ghost in the Shell already got posted so I'll give it a thumbs up. That anime is why eventually an Aleph army will be coming home with me. Appleseed was also one of my first thoughts when I saw PanO!
Most of the above is for a comic called Devolution by Storm Lion, neither of which exist anymore apparently, but you can still take a look at the first FCBD issue on comixology.
The artist is this guy http://puppeteer.cghub.com/
I don't normally post in anything over a month old, but the art thread demands some fealty as a game I've been watching updated and provided some fodder that I felt fit here. It even has the "Multiple small teams of specialists operating in the shadows" feel going on!
That said:
My Vortex SpecOps is getting something very similar to this done right at the moment.
Lastly, my personal favorite and which is going to be inspiring me when painting Wildcats...
Although on a separate note (and possibly this is a good thing!) is anything like this ever likely to be made? It all looks very expensive, and no doubt far more expensive than picking up some poor kid from the inner city, giving him some mass-produced khaki and a rifle and pointing him in the direction of the enemy..
Ah, but can a kid from the city do the same job without training in Zero-G and the Vacuum of space? Can he do it on Mars? Also, will be able to conduct Info-War like in the Infinity universe?
I have to remind kids in school almost daily that Crtl-C & Crtl-V allows them to copy/paste and that they need to save a shared file on their profile before they can modify it... So I would hazard a "no" to your question, CDK.
Very much so.. although had not long been reading a book about the Great War, my cynicism towards human nature was at a high level at the time of writing!
Anyway..more pictures of cool future fighting stuff!
Excellent thread, somehow I managed to miss it. I'll have a look and see if I have anything saved on my PC to add in. I'm surprised there is no Deus Ex in here yet, that game was like playing first person Infinity.
If we can keep this thread going for a bit it's a shoe in for a link in the sticky! Post away my prettys!
Turns out I don't have a folder in my PC for Infinity inspiration or I've lost it, time to start one! And here is some Deus Ex that I mentioned before:
No art spings to mind but i did recently see the remake of Total Recall! That had all kinds of Infinity'esk delights in! (Not to mention Kate Beckinsale )
Yes definitely! Say what you like about the film (which personally I thought was perfectly serviceable) but the sets and effects for that film were absolutely stunning.
Whilst visually, the remake of TR is amazing.
The homages to the original AND to Blade Runner are very well done.
It's the casting that let it down. Don't get me wrong, watching Kate kick arse and take names is always entertaining.
It was the casting of Colin Farrell. I'm no fan of Arnie, either - but the only actor who would have been more wooden in the role is Keanu.
It was also the complete removal of MARS from the story. Something which is kinda central to the "we can remember it for you, wholesale" story (and then you have the plots-within-plots and mind-fu*kery that PKD was famous for also).
Yes it was rather shallow I thought, although you are never, ever going to get anything like those levels of paranoia (or mind-expletively as you put it! ) in a hollywood film release.
Actually, regarding Kate Beckinsale, as someone who found her immensely tedious in everything else she has ever been in, thought that was by far the stand-out role of her career and the best thing about the film!
There's this guy, Vitaly Bulgarov, he's made a bunch of mechs for a fictional military corporation called Black Phoenix. I've posted some of his work here but you can check his website HERE and his CGHUB profile HERE. It's got an District 9, Elysium, Metal Gear Solid feel to them.
I would so like that miniature to be a terrain piece for the Mercenary base I'm building.... what kind of scale is it?
Although, the price - ouch! This is the kind of thing that would take a late night post-pub moment of weakness, and of course not being able to cancel the next day

I'm sure you could use it as some sort of boss for a campaign climax

About 7-ish people, give or take a few. A few of which spend way too much time on terrain and infinity in general.
But I haven't seen them in a while, so I don't know who'd be willing to chip in. I'm the "poor"/ new player of the group, unfortunately, so I can spare no quarter.
Pacific wrote: I would so like that miniature to be a terrain piece for the Mercenary base I'm building.... what kind of scale is it?
Given it's supposed to be a 1/35 scale model, the scale reference puts it at roughly 100 mm tall.
That wouldn't stop it being as a 28/32mm scale mech though - it'd just be a pretty big-ass one.
Ah here we go.. I really should have had a look at the website..
So... might possibly work! I wasn't thinking of using it in games (although there is a great 'destroy the tank' mission that could probably be adapted), but just having it parked up as a terrain piece.
Alex Iglesias' amazing mech design "The Fiddler" has finally been translated to resin model form! Standing 150mm tall and consisting of 91 resin and brass pieces, the Fiddler kit is pose-able and perfect for dioramas and "dynamic" modelling. This is a high quality resin model kit and includes 7 pre-cut brass rods for the weapons barrels. The Fiddler kit is 1/35 scale. It is suitable for 28mm scale miniatures as a heavy mech, or 54mm as a light mech, corresponding to the scale from the original Alex Iglesias artwork. This is a truly collaborative project, featuring the talents of the following people:
Although not enough Korean on there! Everyone knows that in the future every logo will have some Korean on it somewhere as the Asian language of choice, according to every sci-fi made in 2012 onwards
Haven't been active with painting and wargaming in general lately, but I've encountered some inspiration that I had to share with you guys:
Trailer for a 2077: cyberpunk game that is coming out (in a couple of years XD)
Trailer for a sci-fi series, which is actually pretty neat. Yes there's 'dark matter' and 'killjoys' aswell, but I am really enjoying this one. It shows a lot more of the futuristisc world and community, the setting is amazing and all the details are cool. The first few episodes show some (space) combat if you're more interested in that. The trailer doesn't really show what I want to show you, so if you're interested make sure you watch this. It's game of thrones in space without the need to shock everyone, every single episode, multiple times (so no mandatory heads rolling, genitals flashing.. except for the first episode but that's because it's a pilot, it needs some more attention, won't spoil anything )
Damn...I posted that preview video in my hobby thread just over three years ago!
Did the developers decide it would be cheaper to wait until we had cyborgs living alongside us and just use found footage??
