Dreadball was supposed to be my last KS this year but as soon as I saw these the other day I threw down $33 for the D&D hero's and I'll probably be picking up a few more along the way at least I know this one isn't going to cost me north of $500 like the last few!
They should be compatible with SDE but Impact miniatures seem to be trying to distance themselves from SDE links even though a lot of backers will be getting them for that reason - I know I am.
Project is funded next up is Diminutive Mage @ $5,000. Can be added to a pledge level for $5.
Then Demon Lord at $7,500 hopefully this will be Venger. It will cost $8 as a monster sized miniature.
Grot 6 thanks for posting the thread but would an expanded/clearer title get more people to look at it/pledge?
Just had a look at the Demon Lord Silhouette has to be Venger with just 1 horn - don't know how I missed that before.
The only other 2 minis mentioned so for are Evil Fighter (wonder if this will be Shadow Demon) and Unicorn that's obviously Uni. Oh and the minis won't just be D&D that's just what they decided to start with they will draw from a range of classic 80s and 90s fantasy RPG characters they plan on 24 in total (for now) at $2,500 stretches that's ambitious given they'd need $62,500 to fund all 24 but it's do able.
We hope to be able to continue adding new miniatures as stretch rewards very quickly. After the first stretch reward we'll add a new miniature every time the total project increases by $2,500 up to 30 total sculpts.
When we reach $5000, the Diminutive Mage becomes available to be added to your reward. He is a TYPE I miniature. Andrew has completed this sculpt already.
Our first TYPE 2 miniatures will become available when we reach $7500. Who it is will be revealed when we reach Stretch Goal #1.
Time Line
If funded, Andrew (the sculptor, see below) is scheduled to complete the original six miniatures in November. This means that we look to ship these in February. We can add six more miniatures a month to his schedule.
heh heh... Point taken on the title.
This one is a really fun little project, one I found by accident.
Update 3 has been posted - choose the next mini for stretch #4 and buy 4 get the 5th free offer.
The poll options are
Pig faced Orc (type 1 mini - $5)
Bullywog (type 1)
Bearowl ( type 2 mini $8)
Shadow Demon ( type 1)
Buggiebear ( type 2)
Goblin (type 1)
Monsters and tigers and bears (ah ... okay not the last two) ... POLL - Vote Now
Update #3 · Sep. 30, 2012 · comment
For Stretch Goal #4 we want to start doing some monster fodder that your characters could slay!
However we'd like to get your votes to decide what which slayable beastie we create for Stretch Goal #4.
When we hit Stretch Goal #3, the leader of the poll will be what we have Lorranie sketch for us for Stretch Goal #4.
Now to borrow one of my favorite cartoon lines:
GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!
We've had several people wonder if every Stretch Goal is going to be us asking for more cash. We'd run the numbers on our costs and want to make a special offer that will be true for the rest of this KickStarter.
For every 4 TYPE I Add-ons you purchase, you'll get the 5th one one for Free. For every 4 TYPE II Add-ons you purchase, you'll get the 5th one for Free.
This will let us have two different effects for the duration of the KickStarter.
1: If you are getting just one of each different figure you like, you'll get periodic free Stretch Goal figures to pick from.
2: If you want to get multiples of certains monsters to create a small horde of them, you can get 5 for the price of 4.
NAVARRO wrote: The sculpting so far is rather lacking IMO... hopefully it will improve.
That's the style. Cf. the Super Dungeon Explore chibis:
The Dungeon Master looks good, though I wish Andrew had outlined the pupils and irises; freehanding those seemed to be the biggest headache for people painting the SDE figures. Re the dice, I can never understand why so many of these sets fail to keep all dice in the same style. Why did the DM die change material? And surely there's a gold swirly one available for the Ranger die?

Well to be honest the white gold one was supposed to be the set. Our original plan with the color dice was just to offer them seperately as we tried to find the dice type that matched the character the best. We decided to offer them seperately and as a set but given how different they already were we didn't get the ranger and diminutive mage dice as being that off-putting if the concept is to have the die match the personality more than working together. The was frequently not a group that was in total harmony together ... and the diminutive mage definitely not really part of the team ... so we thought if the color dice were a bit discordant that it actually matched fairly well.
That is where the dice are coming from.

The creator of the Order of the Stick KickStarter had my absolute best advice I've read on doing a KickStarter.
I would love the Dragon queen to be made and like we have mentioned on the KS comments page about having 5 goals that would have one of her heads added as a bonus and then make her body as a single goal by itself.
So come on guys spread the word lets get the Demon Prince so we can then get the Shadow Demon..
The Demon Prince has been unlocked and can be purchased for $8.
Next up is Evil Fighter @$10k (currently @$8,551)
Artwork is coming shortly they weren't expecting to hit $7,500 so quickly so the concept artist is working on a few bits now.
Also offered are a card dungeon tile set for $39, 6 pewter treasure chests for $40 or both for $74. There are 2 new pledge levels for them or add them to any of the 3 original levels. International shipping is $3 for the dungeon tiles if not added to a mini/dice pledge level.
And T-shirts for $20 as people asked for them
There may be 2 new pledge levels one that will get you 1 of every Type 1 mini unlocked for a set price and one for 1 of every Type 2 mini unlocked for a set price they still have to work out the set prices to make them viable.
And some more info on Dragon Queen from Impacts! comments
") The Dragon Queen. We are spending the money to see if we can have the figure made to our quality standards. There is a possibility this might take longer than 31 days but definitely less than February 2013. So we are working on the Dragon Queen ... it MIGHT just be something that we announce in an Update after the KickStarter is over as something you can add on for a much less than retail price as a backer through like a PayPal invoice to do so. We are going to try and get it done in time, but I don't believe in not being upfront with backers on the status of things. We don't want to sell a Dragon Queen as part of the KickStarter and discover that such a figure is just not going to be able to be produced to our standards ... but we are definitely working on it and if we succeed ... backers of this KickStarter will get it at a promotional price.!
Now to be a spielverderber or anything, but one of these days one of these bottom-feeder companies really needs to get hit hard with the IP hammer or we'll never see the end of these stupid ripoffs.

I hope your not implying that Impact miniatures is A BOTTOM-FEEDING company????
as to the IP he is creating a PARODY of the miniatures and currently it is for that reason why it is doing so well. And considering the possible concept for the project was around in the early 80's I don't think he will have any issues.
There are SOME companies that do ride the I.P bus to the ground and back and do deserved to be given the Iron boot but certainly not Tom and his team.
lord_blackfang wrote: Now to be a spielverderber or anything, but one of these days one of these bottom-feeder companies really needs to get hit hard with the IP hammer or we'll never see the end of these stupid ripoffs.
Yeah, heaven forbid that the only chibi heads out there available need to ONLY be japanese school girls with low cut tops riding chibi headed robots.
As a side note, I'd like to see a 28mm version of these guys, I'd snatch up a set in a heartbeat. "Rip Off" or not, people want THESE.
Must be because it was one hell of a cartoon and there was never anything else like it since, except maybe Thundar the Barbarian, or Johnny Quest.
Oh, and "Evil Fighter" is up...
As a second side note, a good place to get some treasure chests is from a company called War Torn Worlds.
Shadow Demon will be unlocked at $12.5K, as a Type 1 mini:
At $15k they'll be unlocking three different Type 1 minis: Orc, Bullywog and Goblin:
And $17.5k will unlock one Type 1 miniature and other two minis that will be sold together as a Type 2. I think Uni is pretty obvious in the pic, but I'm not sure about the team:
Also, the new pledge levels are:
- $100 or more - WARRIOR LEVEL: Any 14 TYPE I figures of your choice (original 6 or any unlocked Stretch Goal TYPE I (duplicates allowed)), 1 T-Shirt, 1 set of Adventurers dice (your choice of white/gold or color) and one of EVERY unlocked TYPE II Stretch Goal figurines during the entire KickStarter. And a small reminder: For every 4 TYPE I add-ons you buy, you get one TYPE I of your choice for free. For every 4 TYPE II add-ons you buy, you get one TYPE II of your choice for free.
New Overlord pledge level added for those who want just the minis no T-shirt or dice. $100 gets you a choice of 19 type 1 minis plus 1 of every type 2 unlocked.

this Kickstarter is a good way to set up a dungeon crawl game, whether its the traditional D&D game to Super Dungeon Explore. So come one come all join in on this ole adventure and see where we travel to next...
Tom has it on the cards. He is currently trying to see if it is a viable option and fingers crossed if it is possible it comes before the kickstarter ends. If not I do recall he said all those who pledged to the KS project may get her at a cheaper price as way of thx. But its still has not been confirmed at this stage.
with 29 days to go who knows what it will bring for us all...
I was expecting something like that, because I knew Drizzt is a D&D background character. But I haven't read still any of his novels. Is the cat/cougar related to him too?

Haven't read them either, but I do remember a big cat being with him in his statue at Gencon.

Next up Stretch Goal #7 @ $20k - Master Mage (Type 1 mini)
After that @$22,500 appears to be Chibi Skeleton and Zombie (Type 1s).
@$25k it's a 3 headed monster (Type 2)
@$27,500 One Eyed Demon (Fimir) and Mummy (Type 1s)
@$30k Nightmare (Type 2)
@$32,500 Dwarf Hero and Liche (Type 1s)
If we hit stretch Goal #12 ($32,500) Impact will add the following Questing Hero Pledge level for $125 (subject to change and some of the contents have to be unlocked yet)
Next up Skeleton and Zombie @ $22,500 both Type 1s
Then 3 Headed Ogre (Type 2)
2 new pledge levels added:
$500 - SUMMONER lets you design your own TYPE I Dungeon Adventurer model (monster or character) for us to include with the rest of the figures. Your design needs approved by Chris first before you pledge and the more details or links to example images you have the better. In addition this level comes with one of every figurines unlocked/available during the KickStarter. Limit 5.
$1,000 - LEGEND lets you design your own TYPE II Dungeon Adventurer model (monster or character) for us to include with the rest of the figures. Your design needs approved by Chris first before you pledge and the more details or links to example images you have the better. In addition this level comes with one of every figurines unlocked/available during the KickStarter. Limit 1.
Here is a very early sketch for the Dragon Queen. It probably won't be available during the KS but will be available to KS backers later at a discounted price.
The Dragon queen concept has gone to the sculptor to see if he can do it that should determine the size and cost. Size wise they are looking at 53mm to the top of the blue head, 77mm to the top of the wings to fit a 50mm base in 9 parts - 5 heads / necks, 1 body, 1 tail and 2 wings.
1 summoner level sold so there will be a type 1 female Fire Mage (partly on fire) available as soon as the artwork is done.
Finally the Kingmaker level $250 has been upgraded and will soon come with your choice of 20 type 1 minis not the 14 listed in the description.
the extra six Type I's for the kingmaker will be added once we get to Goal #8, Zombie and Skeleton so if your not at the Kingmaker level really consider upgrading to it it is going to be the best level in this project....
Yup Scarletsquig you and your fellow BRONIES can join in on this project and get your very own baby Unicorn funnily named UNI... But wait there is more how about a nice Nightmare steed [easily converted with a horn and wings in to Nightmare Moon] or get two and make one into Princess Celestia.
Think of all the Bronie moments you could have if you just pledge to this great venture....
ScarletSquig they are also looking at the possibility of doing a Single horn pony and normal pony bodies with options accessories to add wings or fire to hooves (or both) nothing confirmed but they are trying to make it happen.
At Rainbow Dash you need to pledge at least Adventurer level for $10 to get 1 type 1 mini which the Unicorn is after that type 1s cost $5 each and Type 2s (large monsters) $8 if you buy 4 of the same type you get the 5th (of that type) free.
not bad, will these all be available later on, so I can just buy a ton of unicorns and such (so far I only know of one place that makes pony-style minis and that is reaper with their evil toys, there's actually an evil my little pony in there)
Yes they will be available from Impacts store for general sale after they fulfill the KS orders, The Type 1 s will retail for about $6 to $8 and Type 2s for $12 to $15 subject final pricing being decided
Chris just posted the following which should make you both happy:
Creator Impact! Miniatures 3 minutes ago
Tom doesn't want to say something because I'm always the skeptic and want to make sure it will work before offering something up. However, we are having a 3D artist do Uni so we can use that to remove the horn to make a pony, add wings for the pegasus, and add back the horn for the alicorn. We're confident the art works and we can produce a 3d print, but haven't yet sent it through the moulding process so we could mass produce it.
Oh and they are probably going to make the Uni dice as people keep asking for it. It will just be the white and gold version with Uni on the 6 side. Dice are $3 each or 2 for $5.
Bit late adding this but Chibi Skeleton and Zombie have been unlocked (both type 1s $5 each)
Currently closing in on 3 headed Ogre @$25k ($296 to go) (type 2 mini $8)
Then @$27.5k One Eyed Demon, The Mummy, Dwarf and a Lich become available (all type 1s). They moved the Dwarf and Lich up the schedule too complete the Questing Hero set so no artwork is available yet.
Questing Hero pledge level will be added once $27,500 is reached it will contain the following (no substitutions) for $125 . It will be a level in it's own right or it can be added to any other level by adding the appropriate amount to your pledge total.
The Dwarf and Lich were moved forward as they have an idea for the pony enthusiasts that they want to incorporate to appeal to a different niche/type of backer.
The artwork for the Fire Mage created by a Summoner level backer should be up soon and will available for all to buy at $5 or as one of your type 1 choices. There is a second Summoner miniature coming soon as well.
And some more info for the Pony backers
Creator Impact! Miniatures 1 minute ago
We submitted a Unicorn die to get a sample as well ... should have it early next week to show. $3 add-on. We are looking at making a Pony Pack add-on that will hopefully allow you to create up to 6 different ponies from this list of 8 (Pony, Unicorn, Pegasus, Nightmare, Alicorn, Flying Nightmare, Nightmare Unicorn, Nightmare Alicorn) along with a Unicorn die as a $30 add-on package (and probably its own reward level). It is STILL a work in process. We do NOT yet know if we can actually add this on yet (which is why this is a comment and not an Update. But just wanted to mention that it is something we are working on for those that asked. We are also still working on how it works with the KickStarter as this is all an extra expense we had not planned so it might not totally work with the current TYPE I system of the KickStarter and we are working to figure out what works for us costwise to make this happen.
Yep they've identified a niche and a lot people have asked for these pony minis that would have no interest in gaming minis. I have no intention of getting any of the animals but if it gets pledge money in and I get my Heroquest set faster I've no problem with it.
(the bent leg needs work though, it's too long as is, but in the art it looks ok)
@OrlandotheTechnicoloured ... I'm checking with our artist. He sent us the Unicorn with all 4 hooves on the ground to start with. Based on working with him in the past ... normally he would than have articulated the knee and body to leg join and just pulled the art into position. So I "think" the leg being longer is an optical illusion. But I will verify with him that he did the articulation and pull to have the length be exact.
Also this is a personal moment for us to give up a grudge point. Last year, Impact! took 2nd (silver) in the Oggie awards for best new miniatures concept. We were beat out by the Make Your Own My Little Pony. sooooo ... while the Oggies are not a huge award ... it does sting when your teenage boys use it to joking mock you about it around once every two months. . So this is our way of gaining peace with the MLP community in our own minds by giving them an add-on package with our Dungeon Adventurers KickStarter.
And for those that are NOT pony fans. You could get several of the small Nightmares as horde monsters and then the 60mm Nightmare we will hopefully unlock as a Boss type monster and have fun removing them from the dungeon.
The Questing Hero level is now available as the final 4 figures will get made whether they hit $27,500 or not. Costs $125 for 35 minis no substitutions it can be selected as a pledge level or it can be added to any other pledge level.
The 2 silhouettes are the Dwarf and Lich as the artwork still needs to be done here's the coloured One eyed demon and Mummy.
3 new summoner level figures will be added soon for all to buy they are a Female Fire Mage merged with a Fire Elemental, a Death Knight (Lord Soth), and a Female Praying Cleric. Available to all for $5 once the artwork comes in.
Finally like em or not the pony and a rabbid are now available backer Glenn McClune provided the 3D file for the Rabbid so they are making it as well. Pony options pack is in the works
When is Uni going to be available? Those MLP figures are lacking in the obiquitous runt with the raggedy mane that the little guy had. Not to mention all it looks like was done was to take a MLP picture, and just made one.
Heck, if you are going this route, just do it and call it a day as a secondary option. I don't like them at all, but if they bring in the cash- I say the heck with it. Put them out there and pull out the stops.
Lets see those pretty ponies with eye patches, glasses, fangs, bat wings, fairy princess pixi wings, sceletal ponies, lizard ponies, or whatever these flakes want or Whatever....
Bring those ponies on, and then as the cash flows, let us see the rest of the old school lineup. Warduke was only the tip of the iceberg, you know...
I made a suggestion for a chibi Cthulhu and Chris from Impact! just responded.....

Just need new backers to help him. If you noticed, one of our most recent minis projects was entitled Necronomicon: Cthulhu Mythos, so, ya...I'm a fan.
Chris
Update 16 confirms Cthulhu figures planned for Stretch Goals #12 and #13 so that's type 1 size and a larger type 2 size as well. They will be cultists and an Old One.
And new pledge level added:
Boss Monster $175 (plus $3 international postage)
Choice of any 40 type 1 minis (including duplicates) and 1 of every type 2 unlocked. You can stack Questing Hero on this for a total pledge amount of $300.
One Eyed Demon, Mummy, Dwarf and Lich are unlocked on to Nightmare (Type 2) @$30k then Cthulhu Cultists (Type 1) @$32.5k and a Cthulhu Deep One (type 2) @$35k
Well people asked for it so The Pony Pack is now available - 6 Ponies for $30 The set includes 3 Unicorns, 3 Ponys and 2 Pony Accessory #1 sets.
Extra packs can be bought or added to existing pledges for $30. The Unicorn dice are $3 each. The Pony Accessory pack #1 can be bought for $5 and contains a pair of wings with chest banner and 4 fire hooves
They are working on 2 more accessory packs for the ponies one will contain Bat wings, Tentacle mouth and tentacle tail for a Cthulhu pony and the other Fiery Wings and Fiery Tail

I find this all simultaneously disturbing, hilarious and a touch awesome.
^ Bronies are fans of the recent "Friendship is Magic" TV show, which is far more entertaining than anyone was ever expecting it to be. There aren't any episodes about shopping, the few rare episodes about fashion are some of the funniest, and my personal favourite episode features time travel and Cerberus escaping from the gates of hell.
Anyway, regardless of any opinions towards all that, this Kickstarter has just started getting a a ton of pony backers, right in the middle of the campaign, which is great since that's normally the painfully slow part of any Kickstarter.
Our KickStarter now welcomes a small herd of Bronies and we thank them for helping boost this KickStarter to reach 3 Stretch Goals over the last 3 days!
Stretch Goal #10
We unlocked these four TYPE I figures to be added for free to the CHAMPION, KINGMAKER, SUMMONER and LEGEND levels. (One Eyed Monster, Mummy, Dwarf and Lich). They can each be added to any other reward level for $5 each.
Stretch Goal #11
Stretch Goal #11 was then unlocked which brings to you a 60mm TYPE II Nightmare. This is one seriously kick-butt Horse and would go great with the Pony Pack as a leader, enemy or boss.
Stretch Goal #12
And then if 2 Stretch Goals was not enough we unlocked #12 as well which added two more TYPE I figurines to the KickStarter of the Cthulhu variety to add some tentacles to your dungeon! Available to everyone now for $5 each to any reward level. The first is the avatar of a powerful Old One...Yog Sothoth. Yog knows all and sees all. A tentacled beastie with many eyes sure to cause you to lose your sanity. The second is a devoted cultist of The Great Old One; capable of destroying your mind with ease.
But wait ... after those 7 figures ... we STILL have more that have been added. We set up our SUMMONER level so that backers could create their own custom figurines to add to the KickStarter. We have the concept art approved for all 4 of our current Summoners and you can now add any of these TYPE I figurines to any reward level for $5. We have a Fire Mage merged with a Fire Elemental, a Death Knight, a Praying Cleric and a Halfling Thief. All great figurines and we thank our Summoners for adding them to the KickStarter!
So what is up next?
We could not allow two small tentacles beasts visit your dungeon without also inviting the big 60mm TYPE II elder being himself!
Cthulhu Fhtagn! In his house at R'lyeh dead Cthulhu waits dreaming. We're waking him up and bringing him to you! This Type II miniature will be available once we hit $35,000. Combined with the figures from Stretch Goal #12, you can add some horror to your dungeon crawl.
Well Cthulhu has been unlocked as has the Paladin (Type 1)
Next Up Stretch #15 - Bugbear (Type 2 - 60mm) @$40k
After that:
#16 Dire Wolf (Type 1) @$42.5k
#17 Shambling Moss Monster (Type 2) @$45k
#18 Medusa (Type 1) @$47.5k
#19 Large Dungeon Monster (undisclosed) (Type 2) @50k
#20 Halloween themed Undead Monster (Type 1) @$52.5k
#21 Large Undead Monster (Probably a Flesh Golem) (Type 2) @$55k
There is also a Half Orc Assassin and an Armoured female Anti Hero to be added from Summoner pledges.
The stone patterned 22mm and 46mm bases are finished and are off to have resin masters made. They will be available in both slotted and unslotted versions. Will be available to buy may be added as stretch goal #29 or #30.
Another mini has unlocked (Included for Impact's Tom so no stretch needed, Yay!)
presenting Red, a parody of a parody (& cute as a button)
Creator Impact! Miniatures 44 minutes ago
For those that don't get parody in a parody. This is a Chibi version of one of my favorite images of this character ... to me it sums up the typical gaming guy in a single work of art.
Parody #1 ... what serious female super warrior goes around in a chainmail bikini with that much hair to be grabbed. That was always the draw of the character in the first place. To me it was always a parody of a real female warrior and I have always loved that it was popular because of this.
Parody #2 (or the parody of the parody) ... the work of art I liked so much had her ready for battle carrying a shield, 2 handed battle axe, pole axe, long sword and short sword. Completely and utterly impratical if you think about it as she is carrying 10 times!!! more metal in the weapons than she is wearing. That and I'm not sure how you use 2 different two 2 handed weapons with a shield. And BECAUSE of this ... I have always love this art. It is what gaming to me at it most fun is about ... the complete suspension of reality just ot have some fun.
So thank you Chris for approving ... and thank you Lorraine for making her look so good.
I want alot of these, Especially the unicorn, the dice. and the angels
So how does kickstarter work? I pledge the money and what do i do for the strech goals?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, i have no money, and the thing ends before i get my check, what do i do then?
The Succubus and Fallen Angel Artwork has also been added
Both available straight away for $5 - the Fallen Angel comes with all 3 arm sets during the KS only at retail you will only get 1 arm set.
For those waiting for the Pony accessories (I know groan but 78 backers have picked the Pony pack option) they are due tonight.
@hotsauceman pick the pledge level that best suits your requirements and pledge the appropriate amount (plus postage if relevant). If you want 1 of every mini unlocked plus 20 extra type 1 and 1 extra type 2 picks, T-Shirt, Tiles, Chests and Dice pick Kingmaker and pledge $250. If you want more than 1 of a mini type Boss Monster at $175 allows you to pick any 40 type 1s plus you get all of the type 2s. Overlord at $100 gets you any 19 type 1s plus you get all of the type 2s.
Payment is by Amazon Payment only and is taken as soon as the KS ends but if there are no funds they will try to charge your card for up to a week after that.
Yes Impact! are doing the KS to fund the production of the minis for their online store there is little profit in the KS for them as they have reinvested the money into the miniatures - Tom posted yesterday that as of $43,000 with the miniatures currently due to be produced they are actually making a loss of $350 this is why from stretch goal #18 they have to change to $5k stretches.
They will be available to buy once all of the KS orders have been fulfilled so probably May 2013. Type 1 minis will cost $6 to $8 retail and Type 2 $12 to $15.
With still over a week to go with the KickStarter we've not unlocked the Shambling Mound TYPE II. A 60mm moss monster that can also double as a treeman.
You can add him to any pledge level for $8.
Up next ... at $50000 we unlock Medusa for your Dungeon Adventures to try and defeat without becoming Chibi statues!
And we have many more items to announce that have happened over the last few days. When we added the KINGMAKER level there were 30 figurines in it .. and now it is up over 60 ... and it will only keep growing as we knock down pledge levels until we reach the end.
Holy hell, Why did I click this link? It is like Spyware is going to take another 250$ out of my bank account.
I can't find anything that states when the models will plan to materialize and ship... anyone know? I am just curious how long until i would get stuff in my grubby little hands.
Alpharius wrote: I'm curious...what are people going to be using these miniatures for?
Display pieces?
Counts As stuff for SDE?
Something else?
That is my second question... SDE is fun, but is pretty complicated to just throw new minis into without rulecards. These are good for RPGing, but I would really like a good skirmish game to use with these types of figs. I am curious if a ruleset is coming also, or if anyone knows a good system to look into for those interested in buying the figs and using them.
Mine will predominantly be used to chibify my Heroquest set - they added the Questing Hero level for me when I mentioned that's what I intended on using them for (but I'm now in for Queen Mo level - 34 of my Type 1 picks make up the Heroquest set) but they will also get a run out in SDE and other games.
hotsauceman1 wrote: So they will be available for full purchase off the site sometime early net year?
Will all the models on the kickstarter be made available?
Yes everything (so far) will be in Impacts store once the KS plegders get theirs
the only difference is that the Fallen Angel wil only come with a single arm option included (you'll specify what you want, whereas you'll get all 3 with the KS version so you can choose which to use and have a few bits spare
Any idea what these guys may be at retail? Trying to figure how big a savings "buy now @ 5$" vs "buy bulk" vs "buy retail"
Also, I am not sure the pledges and the 'what do I need to get one of everything' match... so I am not sure which is the best deal.
It appears like Kingmaker is everything + 20 dudes and swag, where Queen Mo is everything + 29 dudes... which seems like a slightly worse deal as you are getting 9 dudes but less swag for a 25$ increase.
I think I want to support this but I want to figure out the best package.

use this and enter in what you want the data is then collected and its compared over the different pledge levels.

thanks! All kick starters should have such a tool!
I think I will be in for the boss package where I can get at least one of every model... I can't tell if it is bad luck or good luck two SDE expansions are coming out right this second! :(
I just got the 80s DnD show homage... I knew they looked familiar.
Seems like there would always be a market for dice as long as there will be gaming bronies.
Ill admit, The only reason i want to unicorn dice to mes with the guys at the GC.
Also the unicorn is'nt my favorite The Nightmare is. ecause i have always love Flaming horses.
They are not going to be identical in style but should be similar
On the KS homepage they say these (type I) miniatures will be roughly 23-24mm to eyes and around 28-30mm to the top of their head once completed and will come with a round 20mm plastic base
KS ends in 7 days 5 hours. The minis will be available from Impacts! webstore for full retail price in May/June next year - once all KS orders have been fulfilled. All miniatures will be available there are no KS exclusives (the Fallen Angel will only have a choice of 1 arm set at retail KS backers get all 3)
Impact! have also said that they won't be issuing the survey until next February and you can add more miniatures then and pay by Paypal if you can only afford a certain amount now. You won't be able to change pledge level but you will be able to add as many type 1s for $5 each and/or type 2s for $8 each to the survey - the 5 minis for $20(type1)/ $32 (type2) deal will not apply to any extra miniatures added to the survey beyond your original pledge. The survey should also contain the option to buy Tiamat at a special backers price if it can be sculpted and produced as well as the dungeon stone bases,
Medusa is unlocked and next up is the Hook Beast (type 2) @$55k.
After that @$60k is a female centaur (type 1) and then a Marilith (type 2) @ $65k
Latest on the dungeon bases is that they are being moulded and may cost TBC $5 for 9 x 22mm round bases or 4 x 46mm bases they may be taken (when available) as a type 1 choice or purchased
This is probably as far as they get but they have provisionally planned
Djinn (type 2) @$85k
Sahaugin (type 1) @$90k
Flesh Golem (type 2) @95k
Gargoyle (type 1) @$100k plus at this point there may be some bonuses
Also on offer Queen Mo level (80 type 1s and 1 of each type 2 for $275) currently has 35 backers when it reaches 50 backers they will add 5 more type 1 choices to it for all at that level.
Creator Impact! Miniatures about 5 hours ago
Hey guys ... we'll make the big Update announcement of this when we reach $55k ... but Chris said to let you know now our new incentive..
We ran some numbers and would like to offer the following: If we get 50 backers at the QUEEN MO level ... we'll add another 5 figurines to the QUEEN MO level making it 85 total.
and we are currently at 35 backers with 15 more and the queen Mo will get an extra 5 Type I minis.
I really like where these are going. The only thing that might be cool is a way to upgrade some of the monster troops into a commander via bits. Like a orc captian who has a weapon or helmet upgrade. Doesn't even need to be a different model, just some bitz like the pony stuff.
I know I can always paint one guy a different color, but it may be an idea. A shield here, a spikey shoulder there and BAM! boss monster!
Another thing is as terrain builder, I think there is a market for chibi skulls. nothing says dungeon like moar skulls!
A few bits from yesterday first the coloured artwork for Marilith and Tengu
Next the Gnoll Artwork
Attached below the coloured artwork for the Fallen Angel and Succubus.
and a quick picture of some of the dungeon bases these need to be properly photographed before they are added. The bases are 46mm and 22mm solid and slotted. The current thinking is all type 2s will be supplied with a 46mm dungeon base all type 1s will be supplied with a standard 25mm slotted round base if you want the dungeon bases they will cost extra probably 9 for $5 (or 1 type 1 choice). Type 1 minis will be manufactured with a tab below the feet that slot into the bases type 2 minis won't have a tab.
Finally they have added new backer stretch goals along with the 5 extra type 1 minis when the number of Queen Mo backers hits 50 they will also add 1 extra type 1 to Overlord (so 20 rather than 19) and 2 to Boss Monster (42 rather than 40) when the overall number of backers reaches 525.
Andrew May the main sculptor is starting on miniatures on Monday but probably won't have anything to show before this ends on Thursday/Friday. Emilio the 3D artist (he did the Pony renders) may have something to show but not guaranteed - he is digitally sculpting all the Type 2 minis, 2 or 3 summoners and some of the type 1s.
Grrrrrrr, I really want the gnoll to happen. That is a mainstay of RPGs... I would love boarpeople as well but gnolls are a must!
I hope if all the goals are not reached that either they get made eventually for retail purchase or they get lumped into a 2013 program. I kinda feel something like this could have an annual release of new models.
Automatically Appended Next Post: and a little more from impact
"Just received art for our 3rd mini outside the Kickstarter (see we really are going to keep making these). Also, I've asked Tom about creating a thread on the Impact Forum to discuss the Chibi Adventurers. This is where we'd post new concepts as well as pics of greens, etc. It would also be a great place to discuss Glenn's card game"
note: the extra commissioned Chibi's are not part of the KS, but will appear in the Impact store after the KS rewards are shipped. If you are really sad you missed out on being a summoner pledge for the KS you could consider commisoning one too, just contact Impact via the KS!
The backer stretches have both been reached so these levels now have the following:
Overlord 20 type 1 picks (+1 mini)
Boss Monster 42 type 1 picks (+2 minis)
Queen Mo 85 type 1 picks (another +5 minis +15 overall)
The stonework bases are now available packs of 9x22mm bases for $5 and 4x46mm for $5. The buy 4 get the 5th free applies to the bases as well. They will allow you to take a pack of bases as a type 1 pick if you add an extra $2 per pick to your pledge or if you take bases as 2 type 1 picks you add an extra $3. The bases will be available from Impacts! store from November retail price 3x22mm bases $6 and 1x46mm base for $1.50. If you get them as part of the KS they will be delivered in April with the minis not earlier. Every type 2 comes with a stonework base as standard.
Coloured Gnoll artwork $70k stretch goal.
Owlbear Artwork $75k stretch goal
Also attached is an early render of the Bugbear - this is a very early WIP the body has only been blocked in and it hasn't been posed yet the sculptor has mainly focused on the head and face for now.
We reached the Marilith stretch goal so this TYPE II will now have one added to all the Stretch Goals that automatically get all the TYPE II figures and any other level (or levels needing more than 1) can add her for $8 each. We now have 51 miniatures in our KickStarter now ... thank you backers!
Up next when we reach $70000, we unlock the Gnoll as a TYPE I figurine.
In addition to this good news ... we have decided that anyone wanting to replace TYPE I picks for Stonework bases can do so either $2 per a pack substituting a pick or $3 for 2 packs substituting 2 picks. So if you wanted 5 packs (ie 45 22mm stonework bases), you could use 5 of your TYPE I piks and add an extra $8 to your pledge to get them ($3+$3+$2). The bases are solid and will also be cast in Trollforge plastic resin.
$90k Sahuagin
$95k Flesh Golem (Type 2)
$100k Gargoyle (Type 1) and Flying Pig (Type 1) complete with Aviator goggles, hat and wings or jet pack. The flying pig started as a joke as it didn't seem possible to get to $100k but they will make if the KS gets there.
Also at $100k they will offer the following as extra purchases (separate to type 1 picks you have to add $15 to get these deals)
5 Dire Wolves for $15
5 Cultists for $15
5 Gargoyles for $15
$105k Chimera (Type 2)
The last 2 or 3 may not be possible but they are planning ahead just in case. Once the KS stuff is done Dragonmen, Goatmen and a Minotaur are top of the post KS list (Cerberus has also been mentioned) there is already a Satyr in the works as well but not as part of the KS.
The plan seems to be to do themed packs after the KS with both a Greek Mythology and Oriental pack high on list. The Oriental pack may contain Ogre Magi, Oni and Kappa
Hmmm that’s interesting (thanks for posting it I can't access KS in work and my Tablet is to far from a Wifi source right now) and as you say fair play to Wizards of the Coast for asking for a change now rather than enforcing it later. The changes seem to be very slight as well just some weapon/equipment swaps so it’s not the design as such but it’s a combination of various elements. I’d prefer Master Mage with a gnarled staff and long sword anyway and the Dusk Elf may be more dynamic without the crossed daggers look. Looks like WoTC have been monitoring the KS after all. Also looks like the cultist has passed the sufficiently different to a mindflayer test.
DaveC wrote: Looks like WoTC have been monitoring the KS after all. Also looks like the cultist has passed the sufficiently different to a mindflayer test.
Either that, or they just hadn't got that far down the list yet.
Can someone please link to what they appear to be infringing on? I am really curious as all I see is orange gandalf and a WOW nightelf.
I really wanted the Gandalf.
The elf is inspired by the famous Dark Elf Drizzt Do'Urden D&D character, star of a lot of novels written by R.A Salvatore (characterised by twin Scimitars & a magic panther summoned from a figurine)
As to the wizard while I saw a 'Gandalf', it would equally fit Elminster the Sage, again a D&D character and star of novels by Ed Greenwood (The pipe and staff with the globe on top and feahters on the haft are again key parts of his image)..... Actually their changes will still leave this as a great Gandalf, as if you remember he carries the long sword Glamdring.

Yep, seeing the characters, I totally agree with WotC. Glad they were nice about it.
Sculpted eyes still a little odd. They should be sunken not sticking out. I would rather 'no eyes' than poke out eyes. I can't paint black lines to define the eye area.
I am starting to think this whole line would have been better as 3d models to prints. Every 3d Model looks excellent and the physical prints look good too.
Apparently the eyes have been recessed since these pictures and these aren't the latest versions:
Creator Impact! Miniatures about 1 hour ago
Chris just told me that we didn't have the final image from Andrew. The Thief's eyes were being recessed and I'll double check but the Calavier's were as well.
Also The Unicorn pictured is a baby Unicorn it's a new option and is 45% smaller than the standard unicorn and pony will be - the accessories will not fit this unicorn it's also why the bugbear looks so big!
All of the Type 2s will be 3D renders and Emilio has been allocated more of the type 1s to digitally sculpt as well so as to get things done quicker apparently the Nightmare is nearly done and should be part of next weeks update.
the legal evils (presumably from WOTC) have forced 8 changes
Greetings to all our great backers.
For reasons beyond our control, we've been asked to replace the following artwork on our KickStarter meaning these images will not be produced or available.
TYPE I: Cultist, Sahuagin, Bullywog, Death Knight
TYPE II: Shambling Mound, Marilith, Owlbear, Hooked Beast
We will be replacing these pieces of artwork with 8 new pieces of artwork as follows:
TYPE I: Avatar of Shub, Lizardman, Beastman, Fafnir Warrior
TYPE II: Troll, Scorpion Queen, Minotaur, Pit Lord
We have discussed the full range during this last 10 days and have confirmation that the rest of the range has no further objections.
While disappointed that we cannot include these models, we believe that the substitute models we have picked based on comments from backers during the KickStarter will give you a complete and exciting line of miniatures. Our 3-D sculptor already informed us that he was much happier with these 8 new figures than the ones that they were replacing so we hope you feel the same. Lorraine is booked through mid-December but as soon as she is free we will get new art from her for the 8 replacement figures and post them in our Thursday updates as they are completed. This will not delay the project as we have already contacted all our sculptors and moved these figures to January and February so that there is no delay to the current planned production schedule.
If for any reason the replacement of these 8 figures causes your pledge amount to be higher than you would have made while the KickStarter was running, please contact us via private message and we will definitely work with you to insure your overall satisfaction.
Thank you for your loyal support of Impact! Miniatures and we look forward to moving on and releasing a very successful line of “Chibi Dungeon Adventurers” next year due to your backing.
I was getting all the dropped figs and will really miss the Cultist (and I didn't even think of it as a counts as mind flayer.. it WAS a cthuloid cultist to me), Shambling mound and Hooked Beast
but I'll need to wait and see what the alternatives look like (I just wish the IP holder had been faster to raise problems as adjustments were made during the KS for this)
to say I am disappointed is an understatement as I really wanted the Death Knight, Marilith, Bullywog, and Shambling mound.
until I see the new art work and replacements my order may change... now I'm going to OCD for months about what to change and get.... not to sure about the new options some sound good but it depends on the art work.
@Orlando I to wish they had bought it up earlier.... talk about pulling the rug out from under Impact's feet....
but I am confident that Tom and Chris have it in hand and will still provide us with awesome minis and fantastic service.
Cheers
LGW
"Yes I am an Impact mini FAN-BOY!!!!! got a problem with that?????
I think that this was such a obvious D&D themed group of minis is what got them stuck.
I am unsure what was disallowed, the names or the likenesses since a lot of the likenesses are very generic.
They may have been better of making their own generic IP opposed to wedding themselves so close to D&D. I wanted fishmen, squidmen and frogmen. I don't see why they can't have generic names.
Yeah, I just don't get it. PP has frogmen like crazy, and I have seen squid-head mages in almost every Japanse RPG game ever made and tentacle humanoids are everywhere. Mermen come in so many flavors, they could have made a totally different design.
I think they stayed too close to D&D overall. here is hoping they design some unique concepts and make their own incarnation of those types of creatures.
Well the guys at Impact! have been keeping up with the weekly updates so I thought I'd post some of the sculpts here, some sculpts are physical sculpts some are 3D renders. There are one or 2 others done but as these updates have been for backers only I don't really want to go against that and post the pictures so if you've backed you know what they are if not they'll show up in due course.
Monk Weapon options, Monk, Monk flying cloud base, Monk airball base, Winged Boar, Boar (same mini just leave the wings off), Flying Pig (wings, cape, Jet pack) it started as a joke if it hit $100k but they made it, Barbarian, Ranger, Nightmare
