Only thing better than this would be if a gaming store would give away a shopping spree like toy stores sometimes did when I was a kid in the 80's and 90's. 5 minutes to cram as many models as possible into a shopping basket. Although, the store would probably go promptly out of business after that.

I agree, I used to watch these supermarkets do this on tv, always had the same dream for something like games workshop.
I would snatch all the paint, LOTR and 40k xD

I remember an old video game game show and the final contestant got to run through this mock store wearing a velcro vest grabbing NES games. Always wanted to do that.

.......... That sounds like a dying wish. Forget the last meal, just swap it with this xD
They had said the first of January. Now, it could be that they were talking 2027 rather than 2013, but I was just making an assumption. Also, as of me writing this, no news on their forums. http://www.ultimate-terrain-forums.com/index.cgi?board=general
I just entered. This would be an awesome win! It will make up for the fact that I never win at the lottery! Of course I have about as much of a chance, but ince they haven't announced, I figured it couldn't hurt.
Due to the number of people that have entered the competition after the closing date, we have decided to extend the deadline. A more detailed description will be uploaded tomorrow.
That was posted on the 28th on their YouTube account. No further word.
thanks for this awesome contest, I hope I win, ive been wanting to start a wood elf army for ages, but ive been broke. lol. all my moneys been going into the tau and grey knight armies I already have.
Really strange too, as many far more worthy giveaways have been purged from News & Rumours by the Dakka-Mods as soon as they appeared, and moved to far more obscure board, yet this one has gotten such a prominent platform here for months.
They're saying that they got robbed or something like that :/
'for your information why we have not posted up anything is that our studio got broken into and lots of stock, our till all our painting stuff and a lot more got stolen. we havnt been aloud into it as forensics and stuff dont want us in. so we have alot on our plate at the moment'
Given that its now 6 weeks since the final revised date of the draw and it generally takes the police less then 24 to do all the requires forensics after a burglary (talking from very recent experience) this excuse just doesn't hold any weight at all, especially after going silent and pushing the deadline back several times already.
Not saying that they haven't been burgled, just that it isn't the reason why they are not drawing a winner and giving away the prize. A much better excuse would have been that they lost all the names and contact details of the entrants and are having to try and recompile before drawing a winner (they could have even been really cheeky and restarted the competition again due to not being able to recompile the list and get loads more free advertising).

hahahah I totally agree with you there.
It's a bit of a let down though as clearly (including myself) people are waiting.
But in the end it's for many people (including myself ) a prize not won hahaahha ^^
So I guess it's not that different.
It would've been nice if they just owed up and said, well we can't handle the amount of entries or whatever. Something less of an excuse.
They don't seem to do anything really.
Keep in mind that it's a micro business, and they claim to have been robbed. It's very unlikely they had any sort of insurance and the losses come directly out of their pockets.
I don't know about other people, but if I had my home burglarized and lost a lot of my stuff, I wouldn't be looking to give away anything else for a while.

You would also probably say so instead of going under complete radio silence and dodging the question.

Unlikely they had any sort of insurance?
That's a horrible way to live, let alone run any kind of business.
Heck - my wife's home business is insured through our required homeowner's insurance.

If it was me, the first thing I'd do is follow through with the contest. By not doing so they've "poisoned the water hole" and destroyed their reputation - even if the burglary did happen.
I'd try and get an outside sponsor to help with the expense that I (obviously) wasn't planning on, but following through is even more important when you're having hard times than it is when everything is gold.

So I guess this is never ever going to happen.
S.
Wow, forensics, your lucky in the UK in the states the cop take a report then tell you your best bet to getting your stuff back is to call the pawn shops.
As they are a small business it could well be they were opperating out of one of their homes, and assumed their home insurace would cover them
Unfotunately home insurance (here in the UK) usually does not cover business stuff on the same premisis. It's a mistake many smalln first time businesses can make
Meh. *shrugs* I don't know these guys, I was only making a presumption with my post about insurance and all that.
Even if they got cold feet and changed their minds, it's within their right to do so. I won't berate them for backing out, even if they weren't burglarized. The 40K community doesn't benefit by people getting mad that a contest is cancelled. It could be cancelled for any of a hundred different reasons, all of which are entirely fine.
PS: I entered the contest but, I never win anything anyway, so I'm not all that disappointed that the contest was cancelled. I wouldn't have won, hehehe.
Sure it's within their right. But it's bad form to say "Hey guys - give us free advertising and one of you will win a few hundred bucks of stuff!" And then "jk lol no free stuff for you".
