Rather than clutter the forum with topics, I thought I'd take a page from some other services and keep everything in one place.
I will still maintain seperate topics for personal projects (If I ever have time to do a personal project again, lol.)
and with that... let's recap.

I had these guys paint several Necron vehicles (not sure if they're the ones posted or not, my internet is crap and the pics are taking forever to load) to include 3x ghost arcs, 3x annihilation barges and 2x catacomb command barges w/Overlords (I DESPISE painting vehicles...)
The service was excellent, and they were very thorough in making sure they got the paint scheme that I wanted for the vehicles and they turned out precisely as I'd wanted.
Communication was also excellent, whenever I sent them an email asking about the status or any other tidbit they were always quick to respond.
In short, having used Battleworthy I'd certainly recommend them to others.

1) Thank you for uploading to Dakka. I normally don't get to see the showcase models because people don't upload to dakka, they just link from their site.
2) Many of the models here are absolutely great looking. I'm not a fan of the Blood Angels or the Warmachine stuff (sorry ), but at the same time, I'm loving the basing work, I really like how it looks on the Warmachine models, so it's just the paint jobs on those models that aren't working for me.
3) Keep up the work man! Even if I don't like some of the models, I can tell you put time and care into the work

The faces are all free handed. Any titan commission gets that kind of attention. There's a Mechanicus themed titan in the queue I am looking forward to doing.

Tau: The red and chrome color scheme works well, but I feel that the chrome needs a bit more depth. Right now it kinda looks like this big blob of monochrome metal. Could use some shading and some mithral silver highlighting to add depth.
...speaking of Tau...nudge...nudge
Empire: Those yellows are beautiful James. The buildup on black armour plates is excellent.
51224
Post by: Battleworthy Arts
Im going to work on better photography for the tau... its impossible to shade or highlight, because its chrome plated.
If you look close, you can see the reflection of his thumb in the gun.

Post by: wyomingfox
Ah, how did you go about getting the chrome plating? Did you just prime the model with an automotive spray and then paint over it in the areas you wanted painted red?
And I really like the black chest plates on the empire figure. What is your recipe and buildup for the black?
51224
Post by: Battleworthy Arts

the chrome effect is an airbush application, and everything (including the black lines between the plates) must be CAREFULLY painted on afterwards.
Not sure I'll be doing it now for my personal army (I've fallen in love with a more Star Wars inspired paint scheme), so perhaps I'll leave it as a possible scheme for a commission.
The black is many built up (very thin) layered highlights: Dark Reaper, Thunderhawk Blue, Russ Grey, then whatever the pale blue/grey Edge Paint is.

The thing that bothers me the most, oddly enough, is your logo on the photos. It just seems like it takes up too much room on the photo and is a bit of a distraction. You have dark backgrounds at first glance and then BAM, all i see is a logo that i can't seem to look away from.

Still a tad noisy there mate. I've downloaded the image you just posted (it's in a cruddy resolution) and mixed it through PS suite 5, and used a plugin filter that's called:

Great little thing, but I can only do so much with a downloaded JPEG of this format.... Here's it after a threatment of the old noisewear professional:
* PS: I also amped up your exposure with 1/3 stop on it. So it's not all noise filter here...

YOU ARE A WIZARD.
Any advice on taking the shot with less noise? I had an very low ISO, F stop at 8, and shutter speed of about 1/25
My camera is set at 180 for resolution... not sure how to change it
47272
Post by: Elmir
I'm not even sure what 180 resolution means...
But erm... f8.0 with 1/25th shutterspeed means you are either using a LOT of light, or your ISO setting compensates.
Check those settings again, you might have a setting for 100 ISO, but if there's an option to increase ISO if needed, it's probably doing just that. I don't think there's that many camera's that shoot that grainy at low ISO tbh... Unless your digital camera is really old.
Because when I think ISO 100, f8.0 in normal lighting conditions, I'm thinking shutterspeeds even slower than the 1/25th... Unless ofcourse you are using a lot of lights.
