I tend to say it plays like Warmachine without the bits I don´t like like Caster focus, Warjacks necessity or the Igo-ugo. Kind off. ;-) And I prefer the models by far. The rulebook is super nice (and cheap) and well worth a read. The models are slightly a hassle to put together at times. Well, I used historical Hoplites for my Halodynes anyways so that part worked fine for me. 3rd quarter is supposed to see the next wave of models, until then all 6 factions of the rulebook are supposed to have all their units. The guys are really receptive on the forums and are taking in suggestions for wave2. I´ll play on next friday again, this time against Wyldfolk. New army, this will be interesting.
I'll repeat what I said in the (apparently) duplicate thread: I frigging LOVE quite a lot of these minis, but I already play Warmachine; I don't know if the alternative activiation instead of IGOUGO and the lack of Warcasters/Warlocks and Focus/Fury is enough to actually get me to play the game, as unless the Quickstart rules are deceptive, it looks like it's exactly that; non-UGOIGO Warmachine without Warcasters.
Thats what makes me play instead of Warmahordes. ^^ So I largely agree. I like the world/figurestyle better as well and such I went for Godslayer.
Yeah, new things are the Cerberos and Hulking Brute of the Troglodytes. They want to finance the german rulebook and want to make the game better known. So I think teir approach is not too bad. I´d like to have one of those special edition figurecases. I am sucker for such goodies. ^^
The KS will finance the translation of the game into German, but also the quicker development of the missing miniatures already depicted in the rules. And if enough money comes tegether it will surly invested in writing new books.
The game is quite different from Warmahordes, where Warmahordes relies heavily on combos Godslayer goes more in the Confro/Alkemy direction but with some new rule twists. I don´t have the time to memorize all the combos and would get my backside handed to me most of the times though I am rather a good TT-player, but I rather tend towards traditional strategy/tactics. So, yes, Godslayer may compete with Warmahordes on some levels, but the rules part is different. Also the miniature design is scaled down when it comes to over-the top equipment, there are no toilet sized shoulder pads .
My personal view:
Since this game relies on the goodwill of shops to carry it, I am quite happy that they decided to offer some advantages to pledgers but do not go overboard with it.
Another KS went overboard with its rewards of miniatures that are already sold in stores and now some of those shops stopped carrying the line which hurts tze game big time. I can understand the shops, since they never got informed about it though they were among the first to support this line.
Looks ok, the pledge to get a rulebook and a starter box is reasonable enough so I'll probably chip in 50 pounds when I get paid.
Also I have a soft spot for spartans >.>
Problem is that KS does not allow you to set different shipping fees for different countries.
And btw. it is still cheaper than getting stuff from the US after the postal price rise.
This is the official permanent thread on Godslayer releases.
I think it should not be filled with the usual kickstarter spam ("Hey, we hit 30.000$" "I am now pledging as well." "Has your package arrived yet?").
And this thread should not be dumped after the kickstarter. So I vote for having a separate thread on the kickstarter campaign as all other companies have.

Somebody already tried to open a KS specific thread, but the MODs closed it and refered them here so I think you're stuck with it
They added a new pledge tier for people who just want to expand their existing collection and get a carrying case.
I have a question though, why does it seem that this game is quite popular in Germany? I don't mean any slight, just simply curious what about it appeals to the German gamer. (Might just be a perception thing on my behalf).
Maybe for the same reason why Fantasy seems to be more popular in Europe than in the States: it's a cultural and historical thing. In Europe, they've got thousands of years of history whilst the US doesn't. A game like Godslayer appeals to the European market because it's heavily based on historical themes. The company is also German or something.
I didn't realize they were in Germany, I thought they were in the UK. They are just registered in the UK and released the game in English to hit a bigger market. Part of my confusion was caused because this Kickstarter is to translate everything into German. That's my fault in not doing more research into the company.
Close connection to the german community and being a good product + no shipping costs. That seems to help. ^^ For me it was the perfect occasion to use the historical plastic Hoplites I had an eye on for some time. The background of fantasy + history is really appealing to me personally as well. But as far as whether this is specific to Germany, I can´t really tell.

Well, for the history of the major occupants of the country. There's like 2 million NAs in a country of more than 300 million. And most tribes didn't exactly write much down either, or what was was destroyed by invaders.

Well, before Columbus there were 1-18 Mio Native Americans (in a "country" of 1-18 Mio.) before the killing began. West and East coast were already densely populated with occasional military conflicts among the First Nations. BTW the Amazon rain forest was also densely populated at that time. Not being interested in those times is okay, but saying they haven't been major occupants or had no history is not.
Currently there aren't many Native Americans, and their records are either destroyed or lost and are only being dug up now. To say that I'm not interested in them is false. But if you're talking about the history of the major occupants of a country, in Germany you have the ancient Germanic tribes, in Britain you have the Saxons and Celts and Romans, in Ireland there's the Celts and Vikings, in Italy there's the Romans and Ostrogoths but with the States they don't have much. The White Nationalist groups there don't go for ancient history, they go more for "We're white and we're awesome herp-derp".
I don't follow you: In the times you mention, USA had 100% First Nations with as said 1-18 Mio people (according to different estimates). And it took centuries for white people to become equally numerous in the USA as Native Americans. Also a lot is known about some of them like Iroquois http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iroquois . You will find more people in USA calling themself Iroquois than people in the UK calling themselves Romans or Saxons.
The history of White People (the current majority) or people in the US is very short, and for blacks it's even shorter. The history of majorities in other countries is a lot longer. Hence there may be more interest in fantasy in these countries because a lot of fantasy is based on their cultures whilst in the States there may be less interest.
What do we have already:
Banebrood: I'm not sure, general monster faction?
Halodynes: Ancient Greeks
Mortans: Ancient Romans
Nordgaard: Vikings/Germans
Troglodyte: I'm getting a middle eastern vibe, but I'm not sure
Wyldfolk of Annyr: Gaels
Maybe a Chinese one in there would be cool, with their Chu Ko Nu kind of thing
I think the money I set aside for GoA, will be going on this KS instead. I am really liking the miniatures, the quick play downloads and even the videos they have done. Probably drop the £75 pledge on this.
This is the big problem I have at this time, I like all the different forces (Mortans probably the least), the latest video explaining about the future releases have made the decision worse as there are some really nice models from each faction I like. If I could afford it I would go for the level that has all six starter packs.
Halodynes and Mortans both look amazing. I'm defiantly getting Halodynes but I am giving serious thought to pledging enough to get a starter box of each so I can have a force for an opponent to use. I need something to drum up some extra interest and hopefully get some other people in on this, otherwise I'll never get a game. As it stands my entire local scene is 'only warhammer' guys and 'only warmahordes' guys
Someone on the GS forum condensed the info on the factions which might make it easier to choose your faction:
So far I can say that each faction seen in its completeness will more or less have the same options of playing the game! Of course the different factions have certain strong and weaknesses, but you could even manage to build up a strong melee warband with a usually shooty faction! We decided to balance the factions so that a player can take his choice of warband based on the faction which interests him the most but without loosing certain aspects of possible strategies! In our opinion it would be odd if someone for example likes the background and the models of the Wyldfolk of Annyr but is unsatisfied with playing a shooty warband! The Wyldfolk of Annyr are definetely the shootiest faction in the game so far, but wel, just leave your bows at home, get some Cromlech Guard, druids, etc. and watch them slaying their enemies in melee!
Let me give you a short example of the different playing styles:
- Banebrood: The Brood faction is fast-paced and brutal in melee. On top of that they spread diseases. The Reavers are cannibalistic marauders, not as fast as their mutated brothers but with regenerating abilites and strong melee skills, being more resistent in battle.
- Halodynes: The city-states are the militia and are suited for melee and will be suited a little for shooting later. The have high DEF and ARM skills. The temple cults are the most powerful mages and have melee protectors such as the Sons of War and the Cerberus. The amazons are fast and both skilled in melee and shooting.
- Mortans: Highly armored troops form the core of any legion warband. The technostratum have access to war-machines. The magestratum will ahve mages and undead, being able to ressurect fallen warriors etc.
- Nordgaard: The dwarves are skilled mostly in melee using defensive tactics but do also have access to shooters like the Fimbul Toughborns. The Skannfyrd are their human allies, mostly consisting of a berserker culture. They are of course faster than the dwarves and feature mostly melee warriros with destructive offensive melee tactics and abilities.
- Troglodytes: The trolloth are brutal offensive melee guys, able to breach most defensive models/units. The shadow trolls are ethereal beings able to cast spells and possessing attacks that ignore armor. The gnolls are sneaky and need a very tactical gameplay.
Wyldfolk of Annyr: The most shooty army in the game until now. The tribal guys are more focussed on melee though while the fiannor focus on shooting more. Both of them rely on speed and are not well armored, so should avoid offensive melee models. The tuathan are a bit more offensive and more tough in melee.... so far...
Definitely, all though the action points, alternate activation, and lack of warcaster and customization for Warlords makes it different enough that it's certainly going to appeal to some people who don't like those aspects (or the absence of those aspects, I should say) from Warmachine.
There are similarities, but it definitly has a game-style of its own. You e.g. can´t floor an opponent with combos if he does a strategical/tactical good job. There are combos, but they are less dominant as with Warmahordes.
An even more detailed description of the factions:
Some potential pledgers have asked for a list of factions and a short description. since KS has no more space for us to post this, I am posting here and we will make a link to it.
Godslayer is set in a mythical world based on classical and ancient Mediterranean and Asian cultures. We naturally draw a lot from history and mythology of Greece Rome Persia ancient Celts and ancient Germans. Later factions will expand on our first 6 factions. While our background setting does include factions based on these cultures, the world itself is a dark and exotic world of sword and sorcery in an age of bronze and blood.
I am listing here a short fluff plus general description of each faction and sub-faction, plus a code signifying their most common style of play:
OFFMEL - Offensive melee
DEFMEL - Defensive melee
HORDE - Horde
ELITE – Elite melee
SHOOTY – Missile heavy
MAG - Magicy
VM - Versatile mix
MON - Monster
LG - Light Guerilla
Banebrood – An evil faction controlled by the cosmic force of Destruction. All Banebrood are cursed with an innate subconscious link to the force of feral fury known as the Urghast. Ripples in the Urghast stir the Banebrood to crazed brutality, heralded by the dissonant thunder of bestial howls which echo down through the valleys like the overture to a symphony of slaughter.
These fiends are hell-bent on destroying all of civilization. Fast and furious, they are also carriers of foul diseases. Unmatched in speed and hitting power, the Banebrood are a horror to behold on the tabletop battlefields.
Beastspawn – Beastmen with many different forms, like buffalo-head, stag-head etc. (OFFMEL!)
Reavers – Barbarian cannibal, mutants based on ancient Germanic tribes (HORDE, VM)
Halodynes – An old culture inspired by ancient Greeks, worshipping the gods of Mortals. The Halodynes represent a grand and noble civilization sliding gradually into a decline. This proud and sophisticated culture of city-states and temple-cults re-civilized three continents,
Their pantheistic worship is so intrinsic to the culture that Halodyne society could be likened to the weave of cloth; for through the political might of the secular city-states is woven the religious power of the twelve temple-cults. The Halodynes believe themselves a superior, noble race chosen by the gods to lead mankind.
The phalanxes of the Halodynes have held the darkness at bay for thousands of years; but now with their very existence threatened, a new generation of shining heroes has stepped forth to restore civilization in a dark and brutal world of barbarism.
City-States: Historical Greek style armies with Hoplites and mythological themes (VM, DEFMEL)
Temple-Cults: Temple Warriors, Priestesses, Oracles, Cerberos, Animated Statues etc (ELITES VM OFFMEL)
Amazons: Cavalry sub-faction based on mythical Amazons and historical Scythians (LG SHOOTY)
Mortan Empire – a dark, powerful empire based on Ancient Romans –they reject the gods and embraced ancestor worship. Gripping the lands of Ghorn in its cold, gauntleted fist, the Mortan Empire is the mightiest nation on the continent, having assimilated dozens of conquered realms. This expansionist, human culture is at once magnificent and morbid, enlightened and superstitious, with the glory of its accomplishments eclipsed only by the malevolence of its methods. The winged-skull emblem of the empire - the Calva Alata - is said to symbolize mortal transcendence of death through necromancy, but it also rather personifies the image of Mortan culture - macabre imperialism.
The empire's sinister use of assassination, alchemical weapons, necromancy and overwhelming military might certainly undermines its image as compassionate philanthropist (which it claims to be), but the truth is probably that the Mortan Empire is neither a paragon of goodness nor irredeemably evil, but rather a multi-faceted, sprawling edifice of amoral decadence defying, black-and-white classifications.
Supporting the steel clad cohorts are auxiliaries in the form of necromancers, undead and alchemists equipped with acid, fire and poison.
Legions: Legionnaires, Praetorians, etc inspired by imperial Roman legions (DEFMEL)
Technostratum: War-machines, Alchemists and units with fire, acid, gas, smoke, and Naphtha weapons. (SHOOTY)
Magistratum: Necromancers, undead legions, undead monsters (MAG, DEFMEL)
Nordgaard – An ancient Viking-style culture of Humans and Dwarves united by worship of the ancient gods of the earth element. Steel and stone, flesh and bone, where the earth still speaks and the mountains reach from the fjords to the very sky; Nordgaard is a realm steeped in myth, a land which the Jotuns once called their own. Dwarf and Mortal now share this land with a culture fused as one, for common threat was the fire which forged this union in ancient days of yore. The Eternal Kingdom the nation is named, for Nordgaard stands as the oldest realm among the lands of Ghorn.
Ancient beyond reckoning, the peoples of Nordgaard represent a hybrid melding of Earth-god worshipper cultures, based upon the two divine brothers. Few can match the daring, ferocity and ruthlessness of the Northlanders.
Clans: Viking style Dwarves and allied giants (DEFMEL)
Guilds: Elite units of Dwarves, such as scouts, warrior brotherhoods rune-warriors etc. (ELITE, DEFMEL SHOOTY)
Skannfyrd: Viking style humans and Ogres, Valkyries and Berzerkers (OFFMEL)
Troglodytes – Creatures of Elemental Shadow, based on Mongolian style. Shadow is guardian of the cosmic scales, lying between and beyond the four cardinal elements of Earth, Fire, Ice and Air. It is diametrically opposed to none of them, yet feared by all of them.
Of all the elements, Shadow is regarded as the greatest and its children the mightiest, being as they are almost immune to the powers of the other four planes. Troglodytes are consequently ubiquitous, able to survive in all climates
The Troglodytes maintain elemental balance by punishing the other elemental races with their crashing armies of feudal warriors, and by constantly culling the cultures of mankind. It is a grim task, but the Troglodytes are grim people ideally suited to violence on the grandest scale. Armed with crashing weapons and equipped with armor of iron, the troglodytes march forth.
Trolloth: Brutal but intelligent Trolls wearing heavy armor and living in feudal warrior society (OFFMEL, DEFMEL)
Shadow Trolls: ethereal Trolls with magic (MAG VM)
Gnolls: Goblin-style culture with horde warbands of cheap troops (HORDE. LG)
Wyldfolk – A culture of nature-worshippers loosely based on Celtic cultures. The Wyldfolk live in harmony with nature, taming its ferocious beasts for allies and building their communities in treacherous wilderness. Dressed in colorful clan tartans, and marching to the rousing tones of bagpipes, Wyldfolk are distinctive even from a distance, but these are just the warriors they mean to be seen; for preceding the armies like a shadow are countless scouts, rangers and hunters camouflaged in natural colors, as invisible as the wind. The men adorn their bodies with intricate tattoos, and on the eve of battle, apply war-paint of woad in solemn ritual. All Wyldfolk share a fierce and deep-rooted mindset of independence.
The Wyldfolk are expert in hit-and-run guerrilla warfare, but also excel in close combat due to their wild nature.
Tribal: Warriors, bards, druids and elite Cromlech guard. (OFMEL , LG)
Fiannor: Nomadic Wyldfolk mostly cavalry, scouts and archer models (SHOOTY)
Tuathan: Extreme nature worshippers who have dedicated the souls to the circle of life (VM)
Since some of you asked for it there are now options to get the minis without the shirt and case. E.g. the Warhost Prince gives you the book and two warhosts for 160 Pounds.
@Reaver
The above mini will be rapid-prototyped, cleaned up and then cast in metal.
Don´t burst my happy world with unpleasant facts. ^^ At least they have weaponshafts with enough substance not to bend at a moment´s notice. Well cut foam by the lovely Feldherren should do the trick.
Well, Halodynes will also not bend wen transported properly. Still on the fence whether I drill the shafts out and add brass rods instead. Will probably decide when I have them in my hands.
On a related note:
We just hit 56%. And there are two 45er rewards now. But still, for me the 160er and the first 45er is the best deal at the moment.
Very interesting - I might pick up a starter set with this. As I have been officially GW clean for four months now (except for White Dwarf - but that's a GW nicotine patch).
I really like the Elite Veterans options more than the starter boxes now. I wish they would do an option like the books and 2 starter boxes for £75, for the new Veteran Elite range. As it is this would cost £115 for a similar amount of models if bought as individual options.
Duncan_Idaho wrote: That´s probably not going to happen. Just calculate the numbers for those deals: They are already a steal compared to what you normall pay.
Wishful thinking, I know. I will probably get an additional two Elite veterans to add to my £75 level entry.
I'm in for the Warhost King and two Elite Veteran boosts for my two warbands. I'm going Halodynes and Troglodytes. I'm still tempted to add two more Elite Veterans for the Nordgaard and Banebrood. I don't think I can afford two extra warbands, but the Elite Veteran boosters are a stupidly good deal. Plus I can get my order, no matter how much, shipped for 12 GBP. It's soooo tempting. I love the fact that I'll be getting the models like a month or two after the Kickstarter ends, too. Nice that their selling the stuff really cheap to fund the German translation!
I'm so going for the Centuria pledge with the Troglodytes. I already have a Banebrood starter from when the game was released, and to be able to collect the two monstrous factions of this game as always been my project. Shame they don't do the centuria pledge for the second sub-factions of the elite pledge. I would have like to amass a Horde of Reavers or Magistratum Legio Mortum.
Well it´s a good thing they do it like this. Imagine they go all gung-ho and get a lot of boxes sold, but have angered the LGS so much that noone will carry them in the future. This is actually what happens to the Mierce stuff in our neck of the wood. The LGS are so angry about the many KS-discounted minis they already have in stock that they do not plan to carry the line any further.
GS-KS has some discounted stuff too, but not too such a degree and it is already clear that most of the upcomming stuff is not included in the KS-discounts. This way the game gets a kick, but not such a kick that it kicks the LGS out of the game for quite some time.
> Yes there will be minotaur models in Wave-2! We are still defining which ones right now, but for sure the Stagotaur.
> Well Centaurs will be well represented in Wave-2 with 2 units a warlord and a character. That will give the Banebrood some serious cavalry power
Reavers in Wave-2 will also get more models, including spell-casting witches, missile-armed trackers and a cool cavalry unit mounted on big wolverines.
That's the current plan, but I cannot make any guarantees at this point.

This is very interesting, I had wrote of any interest in the Banebrood. I really would like to know what is planned for the other factions in Wave 2 now. It would really help my final decision which factions to go for.
Half the time of the project is over and it is looking good so far! Would look even better, if we make it to a round number and breach the 75% mark today! This means that we have to reach £18,750 TODAY. I think that´s possible!
If we manage to reach todays goal, we will give you all a small GOODIE! We will re-arrange the stretch goals and the current 30K and 35K STRETCH GOALS will be IMMEDIATELY UNLOCKED and added to the specific rewards!!!
If you pledged for regular starters the 30K goal was an extra trooper pack for each starter. If you backed for a Warband the 30K goal was a new mage character added to the Warband. The 35K goal is a poster of the game world.
Stretch goals have been rearranged according to the suggestions of the pledgers and the KS got easier to read. 81%/ 20,527 pounds have been reached by now. The next strecth goal will be the dice at 30K. Already unlocked got the world map and extra minis.
I'm hoping some more people kick in for this game! It's getting really close to the target and with the addition of the elite veterans there's a really good selection of stuff to choose from.
Ok, another update on our Kickstarter with another goal for this week:
I would really like to see the project funded by the end of the week so that there is one week left for reaching stretch goals! I know many of you have already emptied their wallets to get us to this point, so this is more dedicated to new backers! Well, the problem is, that it is hard to reach new backers with Kickstarter updates, so maybe you can spread the word about todays goal once more and hopefully we attract some new ones!
In order to make our project successful, I would like to add some more attractive rewards! I will remove the current 350 GBP GODQUESTER and the 750 GBP GODKING OF CALYDORN reward and add three new reward levels that will be based on the WARHOST KING plus additional ELITE VETERANS! I will prepare the graphics this afternoon and upload them this evening! So stay tuned and when it is online, let us spread this out so that everyone knows about the new rewards!
Besides that, I will add the character models of the SOUL HARVESTER as optionals.
And until then, take a look at another painting WIP of the MORTAN NECROMAGUS:
Automatically Appended Next Post: New pledge levels for the undecided.
I've been looking through this KS and like what I see but I cannot find a "deal" that has everything I want. I'd like a starter set, the rules, and the charc models. I like the contents of 'lucky adventurer' and 'soul harvester' but neither comes with the rulebook.
Forlorn wrote: I've been looking through this KS and like what I see but I cannot find a "deal" that has everything I want. I'd like a starter set, the rules, and the charc models. I like the contents of 'lucky adventurer' and 'soul harvester' but neither comes with the rulebook.
Just pledge the amount of all the deals you want and add shipping and at the end of the KS you will get a survey that asks you what eaxactly it is you want.
Only make sure that you pledge for early bird if you want one as your reward.
So in your case you would choose:
Lucky Adventurer + Soul Harvester + Librarian of the Gnostic Cabal + Shipping
20 + 45 + 25 +12 = 102
So you pledge 102 and choose e.g. the reward level Soul harvester.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Woot! Nearly there!
On a related note I was trying to order the £30 one that would just get me a Halodyne starter but I broke and got the £75 one so I could get the Mortan one too What I haven't figured out yet is how I tell them I want the english book and those two factions.
Duncan_Idaho wrote: That´s probably not going to happen. Just calculate the numbers for those deals: They are already a steal compared to what you normall pay.
I am starting to feel like a stalker - the second post, and again quoting Mr. A. :(
Good thing - some of my friends have decided to try this game and buy a few starters. Bad thing (for the Kickstarter) - we will do it through a discount shop. 36/34 Euro vs 42 GBP just doesn't stand the math. Even going to the http://www.megalith-games.com/ it is 40 Euro per starter. Shipping within the EU - free. Why don't we drop a ton of cash on the Kickstarter to improve the "already a steal"? To satisfy curiosity in the new game, but not to have a buyers remorse.
And those starter sets are (looks like they are) really amazing...
The starters are for every game close to a loss-maker, so they can´t go that much lower.
But the higher deals are getting better when it comes to savings. The more of you share one pledge the lower the individual shipping will be. Also, no matter how much you order from the KS the shipping stays the same if you share one pledge.
And as much as I like to save money, I do have my problems with huge discounts. Those are only possible if you are huge or you don´t have a brick and mortar shop. And the latter if run properly are a big help for the community since they (besides gaming clubs) present our hobby to the world outside the internet. Most of TT-gamers only rarly check the tt-forums and it is the local shops that are their source of information.
With a big jump from ca. 24,200 to 25,894 the KS has been funded. The German translation is secure now and also some of the upcoming miniatures can be released earlier. Every pound more makes sure that even more miniatures can be released earlier! The next stretch goals are 30K (Godslayer-Dice) and 35K (Plastic-Templates).
Hurragh! The Kicktraq still shows a below 25K number, but I do trust this is funded now! (Here a celebratory smile should go, but I can't decide which one to use. Not that there should be many available to a happy little tree.)
@Duncan
Did you find out if there will be a pledge manager for extras after this finishes. I'm in for £160 at the moment but I can boost this to the £360 godslayer level in a couple of weeks after this finishes if possible?

Yes you will be fine. They have said this several times now that you can add items and select which ones you want after the kickstarter ends. I know this is a bit annoying for the people who pledge to get the stretch goals but in my opinion it is still better than have no option to correct mistakes you may have done
Hulksmash wrote: If they weren't metal I'd be all over this thing. Ptiy, they are some pretty models.
You should give Godslayer a try. The game is awesome. Even if you don´t like metal miniatures, the rules outweigh by far. Great game with some beautiful models.
If those blue Hy-Hylc-hyc, if those blue spartans are the default colour scheme awesome, I love it. If they are not then whoever did them I am stealing your idea
Also Hulksmash I am not a fan of metal models either but they are cheaper and look nicer than GWs recent stuff so I'm giving it a try (and hoping with 2 armies I can get some other people interested, it takes off in my area and eventually starts a plastic range).
The shocking thing i just discovered today at my LGS: two plastic characters from the GW Demons cost me the same amount as the whole GS starter box.... I knew prices went up, but thats ridiculous.
For the time being GS will stay metal, cause though plastic-production went down in prices, but it is still quite expensive.
The table was every bit as fun to play on as it looks. :-D Some stuff was to be had before release, so I got my Sanctum Priestress for example and the Troglodytes Longshadows look as cool as the art imho.
Rumour time (my first, joy! ;-)). The following is straight form Davids/Andrés mouth:
Halodynes will see more stuff for the Amazons in Wave2, for example medium cavalry, Peltasts aka young lightly clad Amazones with throwing spears. We will also see a mounted Warlord for them who will be able to boost shooting and closecombat. The Sons of War are likely going to be sculpted at the computer which considering the result with the Banebrood Reaver I like a lot.
The Mortans are in for ogresized undead legionaires and some undead vultures. Sculpting on the Legio Mortis has commenced and is done by a former confrotation sculptor that did some of their undead.
The Trogs are supposed to see Harpies.
Forgot to ask more on the second day, sorry! The guys sounded quite set for sure, esp. concerning the new units.

Right, this has confirmed my choices. Lightly clad Amazons and Undead Ogres, what more could I ask for!
Really nice review here, I still haven't got a clue if I will ever actually get a game of this in but it looks amazing so I had to go add another £14 to my pledge to get that necromancer and sanctum priestess.
I really think they hit the nail on the head when they say it isn't a game you look at an go 'yep, I like that army' but rather you like all the armies and then get stuck choosing.
Those dice look pretty nice but I wish you were getting more than 4 d6s and a d3 for £7.
The cerberos is very nice too but it is already on the additional extras part, what are the odds amazons, hill ogres or zombie mortans will get up there before the end?
And we breached the 30000 mark. We now have the dice available as stretchgoals for many of the pledges or to be bought seperately. Damn, I´d like some of the faction specific ones but that probably will not happen. Getting to 45000 would be optimal though to get more variety in the basic troops. So, pledge, people! ^^
Hmmm, maybe the Wyldfolk might have potential for me afterall. I very much like the Reavers. The Halodyne Sons of War are supposed to be sculpted like this, too. So if they turn out that nice I wont complain. ^^
Last 12 hours and the plastic templates are only some 800 pounds away!
Automatically Appended Next Post: 35K have been breached and the plastic templates are secured. Next goal ist 45K, but even if we don´t reach it, every pound extra will bring their release a bit closer.
Congratulations!!! Even though I was no part of this Kickstarter, I watched it very closely and am very happy now, when it has passed another stretch goal just before the closing time! So, thank You, all involved, and back to the shadows for me, to follow the development of this game and maybe even trying it out some time in the future!
Saw that, seem to be taking their time with it but considering I threw more money towards extras than I did the actual pledge I guess a more in depth survey is a good thing.
Well, there are quite some things KS needs to update, selecting several pledge levels, using multiple credit cards (group pledges with 20+ peple cen get quite high ), etc.
Woo, my survey is sorted and now I am just waiting on shipping.
I can not wait for this stuff to arrive and I'm glad I went in for 2 starter sets, I've been trying to get my local gaming group interested in games that aren't made by GW for a while now but noooo, everyone just wants to play 40k (wanders out of the thread ranting about fanboys).
Some of the WIP from Godslayer, interestingly the sculptor for these lovely models is Scibor. I have also been told that the Undead Mortans will be ready in 6-8 weeks, I'm looking forward to seeing some WIP for those soon.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Just remembered, the expected wave 1 range is planned to be completed and released by October.
I like the above pictures, and there are plenty more on the Godslayer website as well. My slight issue is that these renders were not in the KS, I have quite a lot of items I pledged for just waiting so the KS undead Mortan leigonaires can be added to save on their postage. There is no sign of any of these undead Mortan leigonaires as a green or a render, any news or update would be appricated.
Thank you very much for the link, as usual Dakka Dakka has all the answers!
I'm not sure why they have not shown these pictures on their own website or KS yet.
It indeed seems like they don´t so far. They have a good connection to Brueckenkopf but the pics should be shown elsewhere too. Well, in due time I guess.

I paid through paypal and for some reason the KS status was failed payment. I therefore cannot put entries on the comments page or do I receive emails from this KS
Wyldfold will likely be my second faction, I like them a lot. The axeshaft of the 4th guy will need replacing though as in this soft metal it will bend in no time.
