In a game against my friend, my 5 man scout squad with a heavy bolter managed to send his wyches packing and kill off a scourge squad while tanking fire from half of his army on a 4+ cover save (multiple dark lances, shredders, and pulse pistols, to name some of the weaponry used!). He went so far as to call them "punk scout s", which was rewarding enough for me, even though I lost. Has anyone else had a similar experience of a weak unit heavily outdo their points cost in damage/harassment?

4th Edition:

Playing Tau Fish-o-Fury with all drones on fish. One two man squad of my free drones assaulted a 10 man terminator squad. WON! then proceeded to ESCORT THE SQUAD OFF THE BOARD! I have never seen my buddy so shocked. Free drones are my favorit unit of all time! I will never forget that as long as I game...

A single 5-man DW squad tabled (thanks to him forgetting he could regroup his assault termies) an opponent singlehandedly.

The sarge murdered an ic who only had paired lightning claws (some named dude, no idea who) while the 4 pfist swings killed 3 guys to only losing 1 to thammers, and they went on to shoot two squads of marines (some wierd chapter that didn't have atsknf) off the board for the tabling. Meanwhile, my scout squads and naked libby did nothing, and the other (tooled up) dw squad mishapped themselves to death. T'was wierd.

My last game had my Dakkafex kill more of my friends Dark Eldar than it had any right to. After dropping in, it and its spore accounted for a Wych squad, a Venom, a Bloodbride squad (due to some being killed by the exploding Venom and the rest by overwatch fire from twin linked Devourers), his Warlord (a Succubus in the Bloodbride squad, in the Overwatch firestorm), a Hellion squad, then half of another Wych squad before being brought down.

5th edition: Marbo.

It was a 750 point game against CSM. Top of turn 2, Marbo arrives and throws his demo charge at a huge pile of CSM, scattering but still killing a few - just enough for a morale check. They failed it. They ran just far enough for Marbo to still be in 6", meaning they had to roll to retreat again, causing them to run off the table.

All that my opponent had left after his super-tooled single squad of doom ran away was a couple of rhinos and a few regular CSM. My opponent conceded at the bottom of turn 2.

A 65 point unit tabled a 750 point army in a single shot.

Not a unit, but a single 36 point model. My Fire Dragon Exarch is a man of reknown at my local club.

In a game against a Deathwing army - he was the last surviving member of his squad following the deathwing assault. Nuked a Terminator Captain on turn 1 (precision shot), blew up a venerable dread on overwatch on the top of turn 2, killed another terminator in my turn. Turn 3 he immobilized a land raider, before assaulting and exploding it with Melta bombs. He survived the explosion, and could do nothing as the deathwing knights inside assaulted and killed him in the following turn.

This guy quite often is the last remaining member of his squad, and then proceeds to go all rambo. He occasionally goes on a quad gun, where he usually gets his value back unless targetted early on.

One grot. Just one.

Same grot just keeps on rocking... I've had him since about 2nd ed.

His best kill was headshotting Marneus Calgar. One three-point model kills off a model 83 times his cost

Back in 5th edition I had my full unit of 10 Nobz kitted out with their Waaagh! Banner, PK's, and Painboy alongside their Warboss w/PK after bailing out of a wrecked truck survive a combined charge of Abbadon with his terminator champion retinue, 7 plague marines, and 10 summoned daemons simultaneously. I lost only 1 Nob due to Abbadon who promptly died under a deluge of power klaw counter-attacks and I passed an unholy amount of cybork body and FNP saves. This ultimately allowed me to kill the rest of Abbadon's remaining terminators, the rest of the summoned daemons from fearless wounds and only 3 plague marines were left to bog me up in combat. There was practically only 2 squads of chaos marines left with the rest of my army being practically unscathed scampering all over the objectives. My opponent shortly after conceded the match after turn 3. Proudest moment of my 'ardest...'ardest boyz *wipes away a tear*

At a recent game in Chi-town, I had an opponent not only see his Fire Warriors survive a charge from a Tactical Squad, but defeat them, and then go on to do the same to a second squad!

Personally, I have had many great experiences with a single Space Marine surviving enemy fire against all odds, and then rallying to do something insanely heroic. (Blow up a Deff Dread in CC. Defeat a full squad of Necron Warriors to phase the army and win the game. Charge a warlord from behind and crush his skull like a grape.) Once a tactical squad is reduced to one or two members, I often find that their heroism factor goes through the roof.

A lone Plague Marine melted a Zooming Vendetta out of the sky, then the very next turn melted a Zooming Valkyrie down.

One of his buddies ate a LR Executioner's entire firing in the open, making 10 consecutive Feel No Pain rolls and turning the 'well there goes the squad' shooting into 'oh you mildly annoyed them.'

I have forgotten my old favorite - my Salamanders assault in 3rd edition. After being reduced to 1 model, he took it upon himself to assault a full squad of Kroot with Hounds.

He killed one and survived, winning combat. They fell back. He outpaced them, Overrunning them.

That model was actually converted to be my new sergeant when I got home, akimbo Plasma Pistols (representing the Master Crafting sergeants could do in 3rd edition Salamanders) and power sword.

My Lancetek has the horrible habit of wasting that single shot every turn. It's good, yes, but he never seems to hit with it, or when he does, he usually missed to wound on a 2+ . He's still useful as a Solar Pulse carrier, tho.

Anyway, first game in a tournament, my necrons vs a friend's Chaos allied with IG. My friend's vendettas enter the field, one of them carries 10 veterans filled with melta ready to obliterate my AB as soon as they deploy.

I shot everything at that damn vendetta, including the ADL Cannon, nothing would either hit it or if it did he would evade everything or it would just fail to pen. Until it was time to use the Necron squad that had the Lancetek. All the warriors missed but the Lancetek:

Rolls 6 to Hit.
Rolls 6 "to Wound"
Vendetta fails evade
Rolls 6 on the table
Vendetta crashes and burns and not a single veteran survived the crash.

Two turns latter and a whole bunch of ones for my opponent, only 3 Horrors were dead and the Sanguinor was cleaned off the table.

Recently (in 6th edition) I had a squad of 5 plague marines with 2 melta guns (no other upgrades) in a rhino: Explode a battle waggon from the front, assault and wipe out (in one turn) the remaining burna boys inside, polish off 5-6 lootas as they marched past the previous mentioned BW, charge and destroy grots holding the back objective, and as the champion killed the runtherd in a challenge he turned into a daemon prince. The game ended directly after but it was good to know the dark gods were smiling upon me that day.

well i've had many funny instances over the years...

a recent one was a 10 man CSM squad shot 8 rapid fire bolters, and 2 meltaguns into a 8/9 man CSM squad and a chaos lord...

they all died... much to our amusement

though the best lols comes from my DE venoms, everyone underestimates them they have killed loads of stuff:

big nids
little nids
marines
give terminators goosebumps...
give guardsmen a taste of their own firpower in return...
slaughtered orks wholesale
made plague marines wish they hadn't turned up

oh and the blokes inside? one blaster shot taken meanwhile leaning over the side casuses all sorts of problems, especially when you blow up a tank

In a tourny I had my purifier squad devestated down to 1 man with a psycannon. In his lone wolf state he survived 2 rounds of three tesla destructor fire probably about 34ish wounds. And every turn he punked another Anni Barge. My opponent landed 20 warriors behind him in cover and drowned me in wounds, but still the purifier persisted. I ask my opponent what they are going to do if he makes it into combat with the warriors and gets cleansing flame off and I just sweeping advance him. He politely laughed and said he would flip the table.

I roll my difficult terrain for movement, I'm about 7" away for the charge. He overwatches and gets 3 more wounds and the purifier still refuses to be extinguished. I make the charge range through difficult terrain ...

I fail the psyker test for cleansing flame and die in combat... haha

Squad of 10 Fire Dragons bringing down a Reaver Titan in a turn of shooting before the Reaver accounted for ANY points himself.

Squad with Waveserpent was roughly 350 points, brought down a 1450 point model in a turn of shooting on turn 2.

What made this even better is that the guy showed up for a 3k Apoc game with 3 plasticard Titans(one Reaver, two Warhounds and a TechMarine was his whole list).

In the speed freek version of the old ork codex, you used to be able to run a deathkopta with a mek who could take a burna. I think it ran 45 points.

In those days, the burna did 2d6 pen vs vehicles, in addition to being both a flamer and a power weapon. Plus, all models were scoring.

So, I'm in this tournament, playing against an IG army. This one kopta kills a unit of lascannons, a unit of ratling snipers, a LR demolisher, and still has time to turbo-boost back and claim the winning objective.

Back when I played Blood Angels in 5th ed, when the combination of invul saves and Feel No Pain from a nearby Sanguinary Priest led my Reclusiarch to withstand some 108 Ork attacks in close-combat before succumbing. It tied up his massive mob alone for just long enough for my Tactical squads to grab the objectives.

In 6th, I've only ever had middling success with my Basilisk, until one game where it hit a balcony two squads were standing on and managed to wipe out 2 tooled-up Sternguard squads with a single shot.

1. An individual Sternguard Vet in a Kill Team tourney killed 5 out of 8 team leaders, was nearly always the last man standing, and performed well over his cost in points. He killed- Harker, a Warp Spyder exarch through Overwatch, a stealth suit commander in a ruin, a Sister Superior, three Guard Vets, two fire warriors, a Warp Spyder and a Sterguard Sergeant.

2. A combat squad of Ultramarines killed 120 ork Boyz, Grotsnik and Zogwort. The look of horror on my enemies face!

6 fire dragons whiff in shooting and kill 1 terminator on 5 terminators+ Belial. Rest of army puts 2 wounds on Belial. They charge fire dragons. Fire dragons punch 3 terminators to death in the first round of combat, then the exarch survives to punch another terminator down. Belial is suck there with 1 wound looking around confused at the dead terminators, charges the nearest vehicle, and dies to dangerous terrain from the mission. We each sat there, shaking our heads, and even called the tourney orginizer over to tell the story how 6 fire dragons killed belial and terminator squad nearly single handedly.

So many its hard to choose!

Played a game today: junior officer shoots flying demon prince with 1 wound with las pistol. 6 to hit 6 to wound... 1 shot 1 kill!

Id say over all though it has to be my armored fist squad that's been with me since 3rd ed. It was my first squad i painted all by myself and because they were AF i wanted to make them different to the other squads I had, I painted there helmets and shoulders blue.
The "blue hat squad" is now famous at my FLGS. First game i used them, charged by 3 wraiths, lose one guy, kill to wraiths then run them down.
Another game they killed a space marine termie captain in close combat.
Killed a 15 ork slugga boys in close combat with only 7 of them left, lost no one, held the objective and won! list goes on and on!

One of my annihilation barges took out 9 Rubric Marines out of 10 in a single volley. Ahriman (who was attached to the squad prior to it disappearing around him) then tried to headbutt an Eldritch Lance.

My Annihilation Barges and one particular Lancetek seem to be the ones who overachieve, but it seems only to make up for my woeful Immortals, who have never actually hit anything with overwatch, and their shots seem to get shrugged off with relative ease. To put this into perspective, both my squads of 7 Necrons Warriors have outperformed my squad of 10 Immortals, and that's not combined outperformance, they have both outperformed my Immortals, and that's ignoring the 2 Crypteks attached to either warrior squad.

A Dakka Predator(1)
7 Space marines, 3 were Chaos(1)
SM Captain(1)
2 Leman Russes(2)
CCS(2)
Chimera(2)
3 bloddletters(2)
1 Tzeentch Cahriot things(2)
1 SW Rifle Dread
2 GK Rifle Dreads
3 GK SS marines.
He only died once at he last game.

The boyz were just bullet bags but did manage to kill some IG and a couple marines.

Id have to give props to vulkan too. he singlehandedly took out a 12-man pack of raptors(rest of the squad died while he was in the challenge) held his own against a termie squad with abby (challenged the sgt, killed him then went 3 rounds with abby) he aided 2 squads to sweep a PK nob squad and took on a tervagon all in the span of 3 games of a campaign. Not to mention all the TLing help hes given to my army. Granted more times than not he gets squished by PK/TH/LC/S8+ before he so much as fires off his flamer, but his purpose was to just be there. after than anything else was a bonus

I usually expect my SoB to die gloriously for the Emperor, but sometimes they do surprise me.

Outflanking Dominion Squads seldom survive their alpha strike, getting killed by everything nearby in retaliation (understandable when you've blown up two Hammerheads or the equivalent). But not always - I've had a squad of those survive in cover of their Immolator only to be charged by a pack of Fenrisian Wolves and a group of Thunderwolf Cavalry. Funny enough, by a combination of overwatch losses and cramped space for enemies to get engaged the Dominions destroyed the wolves and routed the TWC, sweeping the latter.

And ofc, back in the WH days my Inquisitor Lord had a Sage in his retinue. An Eldar Avatar was bearing down on them, and taking heavy fire. The Avatar was down to one wound when only the Lord and retinue were left. Of all the fancy weapons there it was the Sage who killed it, with a basic Laspistol.

Two drones that popped off of a Devilfish in a 5e game of 40k. Nobody ever shot at them, since there were plenty of other targets, so they were pretty much free to wander around the board. At one point, they jumped behind a Chaos Rhino full of Khorne Berzerkers, shot their carbines, and blew it up. The squad inside proceeded to fail their armor saves and leadership rolls spectacularly, and the drones walked them off the board. I was stunned.

My custom Power rangers army I had Tommy the red ranger (2 wounds, eternal warrior, T3, Sv4+) survive shooting from:

36 fire warriors
3 crisis suits
Devilfish
Stealth team (including a fusion blaster)

As to a real unit, I had my stealth team with markerdrones (back in the old codex) procede to kill a defiler, a DE transport, the Homonculus inside it, the chaos rhino that player 3 brought in full of plague marines, then proceeded to use their marker drones to call down a BS 5 Hammerhead template on top of the plague marines inside it. The best part is that my hammerhead hadn't hit anything the whole game until that point...

Recently been using a squad of Raptors armed with 2 Meltaguns, a Lightning Claw and a Plasma Pistol. Comes to less than 150pts but the damage this unit has done had me stunned.

- First game: Deepstrike, blow up a Battlewagon, killing 6 out of 15 Burnas in the explosion, which are then mopped up by my Vulture. The squad then goes on to claim Linebreaker

- Second Game: Deepstrike. Mishap and get delayed. Arrive again and scatter out of 2D6 Melta range, but still manage to blow up an Annihilation Barge despite it still having Quantum Shielding.

- Third Game: Deepstrike. Critically damage a Leman Russ leaving it with just a Heavy Stubber. The squad is then wiped out except the Champion who goes onto contest an objective through assaulting the unit and surviving until the end of the game.

- Fourth Game: Deepstrike. Destroyed a Vindicator. 3 Remaining guys are charged by a 12-strong squad of Blood Claws. Champion is the last one left, survives for two more rounds until he kills a single Blood Claw, causing the rest of the unit to break, and run straight off the board!*

*Blood Claws or Grey Hunters, don't know the real difference. They had Bolters and CCWs for what it matters.

Back in 5th, when you could turbo-boost during scout move and charge in 1st turn, I ran 5 man scout squad with combi-melta, power fist in land speeder storm. Once in a 1500 points game they have mastered the art of trolling.
A full squad of havocs with lascannons and missile launchers with temporarily attached fully kitted out sorcerer got charged in turn one. Scouts killed two of them and only 3 csm could attack back and did nothing. They failed morale due to LSS launcher.
1/3 enemy's army fleeing from table before shooting once is a great view for every general, however i agree with 6th ed nerf.

During another game (1200p) versus BA my basic librarian with "avenger" and "might of the ancients" rampaged through the entire board killing over 600 points worth of models. This included a LRR, 6 death company marines and enemy librarian.
And recently Marbo destroyed 2 BA razorbacks and a vindicator in one shot. Sadly it wasn't enough to save me the game.

One of my Rhino's stormbolters actually killed something.

I was shocked.

One of my Sergeants also beat a Nurgle Biker Sorcerer in close combat, killing it in one round of combat.

Sergeant Badass has gone on to slaughter other sergeants he fights, only losing when he chooses to heroically sacrifice himself against a Hive Tyrant or other HQ.

I have a converted Thunderfire Cannon that consistently makes double to triple its points back. On average it will obliterate a devastator squad, kill a squad of deathwing terminators, or slow bikes down like molasses. My opponents try their best to kill it but i believe it has only died once so far.

Considering how Khorne Berzerkers were (and still are) Fearless, that's quite a feat.

Ah, maybe I misremembered it. Either the guy playing them was doing it wrong (and, well, nobody else played Chaos so nobody could correct him) or it was actually a squad of Chaos Space Marines. My bad.

My Dakkajet killed a Trygon Prime (from full) in one round of shooting. Granted it was Waaagh! turn, but 18 shots causing 6 unsaved wounds with TL BS3 (effectively), even strength v. toughness, and 3+ armor was still a heck of a lucky turn.

Terminators passed every invuln save. Ate the Fire Dragons, Wave Serpent, and the Falcon carrying the Farseer.

At a tourney back in january, my mega warboss and retinue of 5 mega nobz proceeded to take out 4 land raiders & 2 vindicators over the course of the game, all of which exploded and (dice gods on my side) took out the majority of the units inside the land raiders! Only lost 1 mega nob through it all! Suffice to say I won that round

That was the first real time I had used the MANZ, and never looked back as I have kept them in my main army list ever since!

my fire warriors went toe to toe with 3 blood angel assault marine squads in assault and proceeded to survive 10 consecutive rounds of combat. During said combat they proceeded to kill a marine or 2 per turn and save every wound he caused on them.

After this had gone on for a while I decided to throw my crisis suits in to finish em off to which they were all killed and shadowsun ran off the board! The combat finally ended when the blood angels players command squad eventually showed up in there storm raven disgusted that they're brethren hadn't finished the job already and wiped the fire warriors off the table!

Funniest game ever!

(3) Baneblade
(2) Stormblade
(1) Plasma IG Superheavy
(3) Warhound
(8) Land Raider
(4) Leman Russ and variants
(2) Stompas
(≈25) Terminators

And a few other tanks and infantry models that were necessary to die while on objectives and in cover

I'm aware I already posted in this thread, but I just realised that while not a unit, lasguns always over-perform. It's probably because I rarely expect anything out of them, so when they do kill things I'm very happy. However that last "whatever I might as well roll it" lasgun shot seems to be the most powerful out there.
I emptied 7 plasma rounds and a lascannon into farsight on one wound, only for a stray lasgun shot from a unit with 9/10 members out of range to take off his last wound.

I've got two.
The Green Baron, my favorite Deffkopta, has had two moments. (Both in 5th ed.) Once, he turbo boosted for the 3+ cover in a 1500 point game on turn one. He fired every single gun he had save one rail gun at my kopta... and failed to kill him, inflicting only one wound. He then blew up a hammerhead.
Another time, he dropped a bigbomm on a unit of 8 Ork Warbikers with his way boss included (in a 1000 point game) and caused three wounds. They broke and ran off the board.

The other one is my Mek, lucky. (No, not a Big Mek.) He killed a helldrake once. By himself. With one shot.

Through out 5th edition my strangely equipped Wolf Scouts consistently did more to win my games than any other unit. Here's the load out:

Wolf Scouts - 121 points
x1 Wolf Scout w/ Sniper Rifle, Bolt Pistol, Mark of the Wulfen
x1 Wolf Scout w/ Meltagun, Bolt Pistol, Power Weapon (Sword)
x1 Wolf Scout w/ Sniper Rifle, Bolt Pistol, Power Weapon (Axe)
x2 Wolf Scout w/ Bolt Pistol, Close Combat Weapon

I usually had this guy attached as well:

Wolf Guard Pack Leader - 48 points
x1 Wolf Guard w/ Combi-Melta, Wolf Claw, Meltabombs

So less than 125 points, or 169 points in games bigger than 1500 points. I should note that in 5th edition I Infiltrated almost as often as I had 'em go OBEL.

Some highlights:

- Combined with a Chooser of the Slain and the forces in my Deployment Zone, they prevented Chaos Infiltrators from setting up in any effective manner by deploying aggressively forward. They managed to advance into a unit of Chosen on Turn 1, defeating them with a single casualty at the end of the Chaos player's turn, then Melta a Defiler. The enemy Havocs had suffered small losses from fire from my Long Fangs and took out all but two Scouts, the Meltagun and the 'Wulfen, who then drove them off the board.

- They Pinned an Eldar Pathfinder so that some Grey Hunters could route them, and then charged into a group of Warlocks. These Warlocks also happened to have two enemy Farseers with them. Enough loses were caused that the unit had to fall back. They were never able to regroup from the savagery of the attack, both Farseers running off the board by the 3rd Turn!

- Operating behind enemy lines, they snuck up on a unit of Guardians entrenched in a ruin building. They managed to drive the 20 man Guardian unit from the battle field in a single round, defeat a unit of Howling Banshees that counter-attacked, and then disabled the Wave Serpent they road in. Did I mention that they then denied the objective in the ruins to the enemy forces?

- Against Renegades from a Blood Angels Successor Chapter, they Infiltrated behind a hill topped with a ruined building. Advancing quickly and taking position in the Ruins, they were able to disable the front Razorback (took out the TL-Plasma Gun and Immobilized it) of a convoy of enemy troops trying to outflank the entrenched Grey Hunters. The delay cost the Blood Angels player Two Turns of movement with the two vehicles behind the first Razorback. Throwing enemy plans further into disarray, they charged Commander Dante and the Jump Infantry he was leading from behind when Dante engaged my Grey Hunters (hurray Move Through Cover). If it weren't for the plethora of no-save attacks the fight would have gone very differently.

And one of my favorites:

- Against Imperial Guard, they came in from the flank and succesfully took out an enemy Basilisk and Leman Russ Battle Tank from the rear. They took some casaulties and fell towards the Space Wolf lines (which meant running through the Imperial Guard lines) and managed to take out the Battle Cannon and hull mounted Heavy Bolter of a second Leman Russ Battle Tank while they retreated. Once through enemy lines, they regrouped and charged (hurray 3" + 6" + 6" movement!) into a Combined Squad of 20 Guardsmen who had failed to Get Back Into The Fight! after taking cover from my own shooting (Murderous Hurricane + 2 Plasma Cannons + Bolter fire and I killed 3 Guardsmen thanks to the 2++ Cover Save; yeesh). They kept the IG blob engaged for two more turns, and thus on Turn 5 the IG squad broke, falling back towards their table edge and leaving the Objective they were camping open for my rather weakened Grey Hunters to claim.

I'm really bummed that the rule changes killed any chance this unit has of being this awesome. Several of these games they were just proxied because I wasn't sure it was worth buying models. They ended up performing so well that I went to great length to convert some Scouts. Still need to paint them and half my army mind you, but all well. They won't be seeing the table for a while in 6th edition...

Playing Ravenwing at 1000 pts plus a buddies tau at 1000pts vs 2000 pts of grey knights. I take a darkshroud just to try it out, upgraded with assault cannon for fun. Grey knights fly on with two stormravens after killing all our tau AA on turn 1. We are winning the ground war, but stormravens are messing up my buddies gunline. I unload my meltaguns, plasma talons, the works into his stormravens, nothing, Darkshroud shoots raven 1, hits, six to pen is a pen, immobilized. That raven was going to turn and kill an almost full strength squad of tau, forced to fly off the table due to locked velocity. Next turn, other stormraven and a grandmaster are all that is left on the table after his other flyer ran off. grandmaster dies to shooting, I dump more melta and plasma talon shots into this stormraven, knock off a hull point. Darkshroud steps up to the plate, two hits, one pen, explodes. Maybe it did not win the game, we pretty much had him at that point, but I will never underestimate the shooting of a flying statue again.

Storm trooper squad, plasma pistol, power weapon, plasma gun x2. Deep strike and does not scatter and blast open a razorback of some sort. Wound two occupents inside, one SM dies. Librarian and 4 SM are in the crater. His turn, shoots at storm trooper squad, and I loose one. his librarian casts some power of some sort, perils and takes a wound. Assault, kill a SM in overwatch, make all saves that I can, and loose one trooper to the librarian. He losses all but the librarian during my initiative step. During my assault phase, kill the Librarian, not loosing a trooper. Remainder of squad keeps going, killing a few things, and eventually take out the SM cpt on a bike. Just down to the SGT at that point, but, he finaly died to some bolter shot.

I think that SGT was pissed he got overlooked for SM recruitment. Never did that well again.

A surprised blood angels player learned the hard way that 5 assault marines + his captain were no match for my crisis commander + 2 bodyguards.

2 marines died to overwatch, hammer of wraith did nothing, he challenged the commander with T5 2+/4++ FnP and the str 10 AP 1 onager gauntlet.... it didn't go over well at all - lost his entire squad just to cause 1 wound.

A similar thing happened against a dark eldar player with baron + some hellions.

I now take an allied detachment of tau with my farsight enclave just for the iridium commander (I also save 1 pt per FW since allied tau don't need the bonding knives )

Most people will say this model is not weak, but in a game against Dark Eldar he more than made up his points:

Dark Eldar opponent had a full squad of Wyches with attached Succubus. Right in front of them on foot, a full squad of Warriors led by a Haemonculus (no idea what wargear anybody had). My one little 90 pt Doom of Malan'tai Rages, strolls up and through a combination of Spirit Leech and close combat wipes out both squads. Meanwhile in the opposite corner, my Tervigon charges into a squad of Warriors holding an objective. I do a single wound (under Warp Speed with Crushing Claws, 10 attacks, 3 hit, 1 wounds) and sweep them. He conceded having three virtually unharmed Flyers and I only had lost a couple small squads of spawned Termagants.

My Striking Scorpions Exarch (usually use the Karandras model) lost his whole squad after they murdered about 30 guardsmen

He then proceeded to RAMPAGE through my opponent's backfield advancing from unit to unit. I passed at least 35-40 3+ armor saves between 2 shooting phases that he was moving to charge a new unit

Ended up with roughly 25 guardsman kills, 3 full autocannon teams, a command squad, and a leman russ BT

Survived to the end of the game when he was still in CC

Dude is the most legendary model in my collection

Shortly after the 6th edition Chaos codex came out, I played an unexpectedly lulzy game against Space Wolves. Back then I thought that loading 8 Possessed with the MoS and IoE in a Land Raider along with a Terminator Slaanesh Lord with Lightning Claws and a Power Fist was a good idea. I cracked open two enemy Rhinos with Lascannon fire on the first turn, and on the second moved my Land Raider 6in, and moved my Possessed out of it 6 in to assault the exposed Grey Hunters. The Possessed failed their 5 in charge distance even with the fleet re-roll and were slaughtered to the man by Long Fangs and bolter fire.

It turns out, that despite the crushing failure of my Death Star, the real MVP of the game was their Land Raider. My opponent neglected to bring any Melta weapons to the table at all, and relied solely on his 4x Missile, 1x Lascannon Long Fangs for anti-tank. I kept the Raider in cover, and blasted my Lascannons at a squad of Drop Podded Wolf Guard Termies. That lone Land Raider ended up wiping them all out, its HB alone ended up killing 2 terminators before turning its attention to a second Termie squad. By the end of the game, that Land Raider was the only thing I had left aside from a small squad of Noise Marines on an objective and a Heldrake. Even though I lost the game, it was a major moral victory to see the Raider roll everything in its path.

Back in 4th two fire warriors beat 2 lictors in close combat,
In 5th my deamons went against a tailored grey knight list and tabled them turn three (love those old op flamers),
And most reacently those same flamers being charged by banshees failed to hurt them with overwatch then beat them and ran them down in cc.
Of course there's always the other side where my bloodthirster died to 6 gaurdsman in cc (bad rolling big time fluffed everything) or my lord of change gets singled out first turn by the warp table and going home early.

Aggh chaos!

My DV Chaplain model killed 7 GK terminators in a single assault phase on his first outing, with a power axe. Sadly that was literally the only thing that went well in that game, I killed very little else with my entire 1750 point army.

Also, last week my ~160-point 6-man BT assault squad killed a LRR, a GK strike squad guy and 3-4 Vanguard veterans before dying.

Hell in my most recently one I took over an enemy bastion and kill Vulkan and a storm raven using the lascannon up top all thanks to Marbo just showing up. Most other times it is them showing up and waxing most of a terminator squad or some other large unit of expensive models.

My first game of 40k I ever played still has my greatest performing unit ever. It was a 500 point 5th edition game between my brand new Space Wolves and another friend's brand new Space Marines. Another experienced friend refereed the game and was teaching us how to play.

I had a 5 man unit of Wolf Scouts that outflanked and proceed to kill EVERTHING. Devastators in the backfield. Dead. Combat squad 1. Dead. Combat squad 2. Dead. 5 man tac squad. Dead. Chapter Master in terminator. Dead. At the end of the game I had a single Wolf Scout standing over the dead bodies of an entire Space Marine force.

Of course, this also means that the rest of my Space Wolves were possibly the most underperforming unit I've ever had as they killed only a couple of marines and mostly just died to shooting.

When it come to the Tau Turn only one Fire Warrior has LOS and proceeds to fire his Pulse Rifle. He scores a hit then a wound, then the Terminator fails his armour save. First kill to Tau for that game.

Back in 5th ed, Marbo and his 65pt demo charge self, threw his

demo charge over a 12 man squad of assault marines, with

sang preist, and libby, didn't scatter, and oddly, I didn't roll a

single 1.

wiped them out completley. 65 points killed somewhere in the

nieghborhood of 400+ it was a good day to be IG.

LoTD.
Just yesterday they came in and took so many AP1 and two shots in an apocalypse game, the guy was in disbelief when I rolled for my saves.
Him: What are you doing?
Me: Rolling my saves.
Him: They're AP1 and AP2 shots.
Me: So...?
Him: They ignore armour.
Me: Invulnerables!
Him: On?
Me: 3+. *offer to show codex*

It didn't help that we were allowed to re-roll ALL 1s...

Lord Zhufor from the Vraks book always gets more than his points total back. Last big game he and his command squad took out two baneblades, Calgar, a Chaplain and a unit of Terminators.

I've had this as well, my Wolf Scouts are freaking badasses. I was bummed at the onset of 6th edition that they couldn't assault from reserves, thereby making my 5 Scouts + Meltabombs + Meltagun unit next to useless... and then I realized I could take 2x Plasma Pistol and Plasmagun. They're also pretty damn cheap so it's almost a waste for your opponent to shoot at them. In separate games they have:
-Multiple times they have wiped out Devastators and stolen the enemy quad gun and defense line; one time a single plasma pistol guy managed to kill an enemy sergeant on overwatch after having finished off the rest of his squad in assault
-Killed 2 Land Speeder Typhoons and then the 2 survivors wiped out a full squad of Tactical Marines
-Killed a Basilisk and blown the turret off of a LRBT
I'm pretty sure they've done more as well, but I just can't remember it all at the moment...

This award goes to one of my 10 man paladin squads, they have to this date accounted for some 500 Ork boys, a unknown number of Guardsmen, hordes of Warriors & genestealers pluss other horrid beasts. And the occational HQ hat happens to come in their way.
Their most recent streak of awesome was when they steamrolled a CSM lord in Termi armour and the horde of Khorne Beserkers that followed him.

...how is that overperforming? 10 Paladins is like 600-some points, aren't they?

I accidentaly made a death star out of my nobs+warboss once. 10 nobs in eavy armor and a painboy giving them cybork bodies and fnp. Led by my fully kitted out warboss. In a looted wagon.
I felt like a giant douche crushing first an assault BA army and then a DA army without giving up a single kill point.. The DA player hasn't felt like playing since :/
Ooops!

A unit and a character.

1. A simple 10-man guard squad. Not vets, mind you. After a melta gun blew up a CCB with overlord inside, the explosion pinned the other 2 squads I planned on assaulting with. After a round (and a half? Two, maybe?) of combat, they were down to 6 guardsmen. I roll 3 hits, then 2 wounds. Oh, darn, he has weave! Armor save... Both fail! That was his assault phase, so my next turn began with the melta gunner exploding a zooming night scythe in 1 shot. Too bad I was nearly tabled that game...

2. Company commander, only upgrade is power fist. After my blob begins assaulting so orders are useless, he hunts down a cryptek w/ warriors and punches their teeth out. The blob is destroyed (not overran, oddly) by 2+ Lord and warriors, and the rest of his squad dies to the warriors, but he wipes The Lord in challenge, then overruns the remaining crons next assault phase. THEN, he hunts down a scarab base or two that chewed through my last tank, and the metal bugs eat knuckles. Game was already finished as a draw by this point, but we continued anyways. Commander was the only Guard left on the table, but he had reduced the Necrons to 3 immortals and 6 or 7 warriors, basically solo.

So today I ran a naked Seer Council - 2 Farseers, 7 Warlocks.
Final turn ( I was down 6-1 soon to be 8-1 so I conceded). My opponent threw three Wave Serpents, 5 Wraithguard, some Rangers and a Farseer at them for shooting. Went to ground for a 2+ cover save (area terrain plus shrouded). 37 Wounds, 1 kill from Mind War, one failed invuln save. They were not going down...

Barry the grot.

Barry and his unit have taken down terminators, headshotted Calgar, tarpitted a Trygon (due to reeallly bad enemy rolling, to be sure.) and generally been about as badass as a 45 pt unit can conceivably be.

The also very rarely fail morale checks. I've had just badass Barry hang in a fight after his unit got toasted when anyone sane would have long since broken.

Give Barry a melta gun. It doesn't matter if regular grots can't use them, that's an order.

n the last chaos codex I used to spam summoned lesser demons. 50 for 650 points and their ran over most everything they hit.

I did have a single dreadnought destroy a 20 man strong unit of de wytches which was hilarious to me

He does have an unusual looking grot blasta (he's an ancient lead RT or 2nd ed model) . I can say its a Meltagun or KMB i guess.

I'll try to get a pic of Barry the Wondergrot up tomorrow
