Just a heads up to everyone, the Steam sale is on. Remember, wait for something to be 75% off before you buy, unless its somewhat recently released.
Personally, I have 10 games on my wishlist (which notifies you when things are on sale) and I am going to grab Skyrim Legendary Edition right now. 18 Pounds!
30 bucks for Skyrim Legendary? Feth I just bought hearthfire for my copy on the xbox >_< Hrm... to restart everything... or to say feth it and ignore that.
¬¬ I was just about to go in for a shower. Well that's my night
On another note; What ever happened to the banners that they used to have? I mean the cartoons of like Ezio playing Tennis because Assassin's Creed and ...Tennis were on sale that day? ...The were cute.
I might grab Remember Me and Bioshock: Infinite. Will have to check my balance, but feth am I overheated right now. Freaking half-hour walk around campus in the Texas summer sun....

Bioshock Infinite 50% off right now. It is on a daily deal, which is usually close to the best it goes. Those and flash sales. And the last day sales. Like I said, 50% for newish games and 75% for older ones is what to shoot for!
Steam's sever's have died for me due to having their typical heavy load. ...Died just as I was clicking the confirm purchase button on Don't Starve that is.
Damn, now I'm going to have to keep trawling the site, adding things to my cart until the servers are back up to pay for them. ....Oh well. =)
Yeah, I know. But heat exhaustion isn't something I take lightly so I'm gonna go drink a glass of iced tea and lie down for a bit before making a decision with my heat-addled brain.
Palindrome wrote: It took me 3 attempts to pay for Hotline Miami (both of my cards have been 'declined' apparently) and I finally had to pay via paypal.
I had that as well, was worried my card was on hold by my bank but this sounds more like Steam being a bit bonkers
Nooooo, nooooo, not again, it never stops, it never stops!!! I have like 138 games or something last time I checked Steam, no, nooo, you won't catch me again steam, no. Enough is enough, every year you rape my wallet multiple times!
Edit: Oh God-Emprah, now I can actually see how much Steam Sales have screwed me over the years D: 129 games owned, 116 DLCs owned D:
Picking up Organ Trail (2.99)- zombie oregon trail, Breath of Death VII the beginning, Cthulhu Saves the World (.98 for both), War for the Overworld (not on sale) and a character pack for Killing Floor (.99).

Yeah, but I don't have 130+ hours to deal with mods. I also own Oblivion and Morrowind for the PC, and I've not beaten either one... It's the idea behind, well is the addition of mods worth the time and effort to start completely over.

I did, I decided to not buy the pc version of skyrim, how's that for my own decision?
I have skyrim for 360 and I love it, but someday when I have a better computer, I plan to buy it again for PC and play with mods. Skyrim is one of those games like final fantasy tactics where you go back to it over and over for the next decade. Buying it twice is perfectly reasonable.
Skyrim with mods is a totally different game. The graphics of a modded Skyrim are absolutely stunning and amazing, making the console version look like dirt in direct comparison. Wars in Skyrim, Deadly Dragons, Player Horse etc. etc. The game's even better with mods. FAR better.

Both campaign DLCs are very good, but Dragonborn is amazing right away. You have to play dawnguard for a while before you get to the really cool stuff. Dragonborn is great 5 minutes in.
Hearthfire depends on if you're interested in building a house. Take it or leave it.
Picked up at the urging of MrDWhitey and purps, Bastion, Mount and Blade: Warband (and the napoleonic expansion), and Dark Souls... WHY DID I PICK UP DARK SOULS?!
Alfndrate wrote: Picked up at the urging of MrDWhitey and purps, Bastion, Mount and Blade: Warband (and the napoleonic expansion), and Dark Souls... WHY DID I PICK UP DARK SOULS?!
Because deep down you wish to suffer. You want to be in pain. You crave it, you desire. Welcome to hell!
.. Or maybe you just like tough games like the good ol' days
P.S: Be sure to download the fan-made patch. The game is HORRIBLE without that patch.
Dawn of War 2 - I had the expansions/Standalones so why not.
The Walking Dead - Yes I paid £10 or so, but I'm 90% sure it will be worth it even though the price dropped.
Saints Row 2 - Played a bit of the third, want to know the majority of the story behind it.
Just Cause 2 - Holy balls its cheap.
Iv got my eye on a few others:
Farcry 3 - Unsure at ths one, looking to upgrade my GFX card at end of the month and its included in a special offer. Will Wait and see.
Civ 5 - Seems very interesting. Not played any Civ games and kind of want to try it. The demo seems confusing though.
Assassins Creed 3 - I'm really hoping this becomes cheaper, I love the AC games but I'm not happy with the whole "Cod Style" of franchise. If it goes 30%+ off then I may pick it up.
Funnily enough my wallet appears fine my bank account on the other hand must have a sore backside XD
Just Cause 2 is a bunch of fun as a sand box. I would compare reviews of Civ 4 and Civ 5 before you buy...I dumped a bunch of hours in Civ 4 but haven't bought 5 yet.
Yeah, civ5 was kind of a let down, but with Gods and Kings it becomes the best Civ game ever. First one that made religion work, and not feel like some tacked on nonsense.
If you like jc2 take a look at red faction guerilla. It's explosive fun like jc2 but with different mechanics. RFG has few downsides lack of quick save (aka you fail mission prepare to repeat mission same with jc2) and you have to use gfwl.
Both games get even more fun with mods (superman for jc2 and walker garage replacement for rfg).

Exactly what I did. I've played quite a bit of Skyrim for the PS3, but with my new computer I re-bought the full edition because I know it'll be better with mouse/keyboard control and full mod support.

GOTY 2012.
I did. Cost me USD$6. Only took me an hour to download as well, which surprised me.
Good pick H.M.B.C:! Walking Dead is an amazing games series. The finale is...wow. I can't recall a game that has been so touching before. I played it with my fiancee and both of us cried at the end
Automatically Appended Next Post: Just snagged tomb raider, FTL, and the Walking Dead game. Hope I don't regret the last two, even if they were like 10 bucks total.
Only ones left now are Farcry 3, and actually now that I think of its Spec Ops the line. I've heard several boards I lurk around praise that game, and I trust them for the most part.
Hotline Miami
Tropico 1,2,3,4 and various DLCs (even though I have already owned most of them already)
Cities XL
Expeditions:Conquistador
T-72 tank commander (it was 30 pence...)
And the sale is only 2 days old....
If you are having difficulty paying I have had no problems at all with the Steam android app but Steam itself can be quite flakey.
FTL is a really good game but it has quite limited replayability, but then it is under £2 so its impossible not to recommend.
I quite liked Farcry 3 to be honest, its certainly worth getting if its under a tenner.
Not the deepest game play in the world (and its one of those games that I can't be bothered finishing due to the tediousness of the final fight) but its quite fun to pootle round the islands sniping stereotypical baddies.
I'm eyeing up Mars: War Logs right now. Anyone played it? The reviews are saying its not masterpiece, but if you're into sci fi and that kind of RPG then its worth a look.
Considering it I may just buy it anyway. It looks damn interesting to me.
I completed Oblivion/Shivering Isles after 5 years yesterday.
And I just finished X-Com tonight (minus the slingshot missions, because apparently I need a new game for them?????)
So I can now happily play Skyrim and Tomb Raider without feeling massively guilty.
Despite, you know, still having 2 New Vegas dlcs to do... And another (literally) 100 games.

Damn it, I was very curious the moment I saw the trailer...only 9,99... Damn it steam! ><
Picked up Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion at the request of Purplefood (more like every five minutes he'd ask if I'd bought it yet). And I grabbed Chivalry: Medieval Warfare due to the rest of the OTL team picking it up. Sins is a damn sight more confusing than I originally thought, but man is it a big, detailed game.
Btw, I bought Garry's Mod when it was 75% off. Great sandbox to play around in.
I'm almost afraid of the next wave. Manage to hold myself and only (finally) buy System Shock 2. I hope I'm able to play this game, I'm really curious to play this game so many people praise and say it has en even better atmosphere than the first Bioshock.
TheDraconicLord wrote: I'm almost afraid of the next wave. Manage to hold myself and only (finally) buy System Shock 2. I hope I'm able to play this game, I'm really curious to play this game so many people praise and say it has en even better atmosphere than the first Bioshock.
It really, really had. And I mean "had" because it's old graphics may interfere with overall atmosphere. If you can see past it (some mods may help with that) it definitely earned it's fame. Just make the effort of finding and listening to audio logs / reading informations. Because the quotes from the game are superb.
Buying the game also has the benefit of removing your name from my "gamers to kill" list who are not worthy to live because they did not experience this awesome game.
Asherian Command wrote: Just found age of wonders. And a ton of other games.... MUST GET ALL OF THEM
You don't already?
I notice that Inestation:Survior Stories is in the running for the community choice game. Remember kids it used to be called WarZ and its terrible. It is a blatant (and inferior) copy of DayZ which has already had a lot of controversy over some shady practices by its developer.
Dishonored for 10,19€! If you don't have this game, buy, BUY IT NOW! (If you like a decent 1st person stealth game that is. Scratch that, if you want a FANTASTIC stealth game, that is)
As for me, Dust: An Elysian Tale. The game looks far too good.
P.S: Because I'm an ex-achievement wh***, sometimes I have some lapses. The Badges for the Summer and Holiday sales badges are some I really like collecting. If anyone is willing to trade one of the following cards, I would be very grateful. - Bioshock: Infinite - Prison Architect
I have the following to trade: - Kerbal x1 - Riptide x1
Steam name: draconiclord. Alias: Vash the Stampede

TWD really suffers from a slow-starting episode 1 that feels like it has to make a tour-de-tv-show-characters, leading you to believe its just going to be "okay"
You can trade cards? I only see the sell options. I think there also must be a delay with their servers right now. I bought Reus just there, but one hasn't shown up.
Dammit, only after Civilisation V goes off of sale do I want it. However its latest expansion isn't ( paying £20 for a DLC), so I'll probably just wait till that's on sale later.
I bought Torchlight 2 a few minutes before the sale ended. So I'm up to $11 spend on this sale so far and I have two games from it.
Grundz wrote: TWD really suffers from a slow-starting episode 1 that feels like it has to make a tour-de-tv-show-characters, leading you to believe its just going to be "okay"
by the end it is one of the best games evar!
I'm now into the fourth episode. When you're filling in the grave at the back of that house and then there's that guy just there it really made me jump. Most effective scare in the game so far, even though I knew something was going to happen.

I think that the characters repeatedly tell you that everything you do is according to a script, you only get to change little things about the plot, not the bigger picture. In a game about choice you can't choose how it all ends apparently.
Hmn, I've never actually saved her. It seemed like the right thing to do was go for the less obvious choice of the regular guy rather than woman with the gun. Apparently only 25% of people save him. It'd be nice to see if she develops well for once. =/

Anybody see the 'deus ex' series available at 85% off. When i posted in the other thread it had 6 hours left to go. The whole collection for 6 USD. That's a steal no matter what anybody says. That's one fast food trip in cost.
Edit: Well, I'm an idiot who didn't realise until now the DLC for Dishonored are -66% as well! Got me "The Knife of Dunwall"! Dishonored is just a frakking AWESOME game.

Thanks for the heads up. Since i've already got Dishonored i didn't even click on its store link and totally missed the discounted DLCs.
Yup, I've been playing it since it first came out - my only concern is danman stopped updating his 7 deadly sins mod back in entrenchment days. Loved that mod.

Chivalry has been a fun game, though I'm finding it difficult to do well, surprisingly did well by playing the objective one game . I only wished there was a single player mode.
Doctadeth wrote: I have just cause 2 already for mah PS3. PC was just cause it was so low and for the DLC and MODDING! so I can get more than just helicopters.
Just got AC 3 and Civ 5 Gold(forgot it was in my basket). It better not go to 75% off, even then I feel £15 for the gold edition was good enough, better get 15 hours of gameplay from it now XD
I know have no money for any other games unless I 100% want it and not just cause its cheap.
Also I need the Kerbal and prison architect cards to complete the set. I have spares of Torchlight 2, Tomb Raider, Skyrim, Reus and Dead Island.
Name is NoobGamer on steam, also part of the Dakka Group if interested. Feel free to add.
I got frustrated that Civ V hadn't gone any lower yet and decided I wasn't going to buy it.
Then, whilst in town today, I happened to wander into a Gamestop (the family was buying shoes next door). Lo and behold, Civ V gold for $12.50! This was being advertised under the Steam Summer Sale too (requires Steam to use)!
I'm contemplating Civilization V. However as the latest DLC is £20 I really see no reason for buying it as that DLC is supposed to add a lot of desirable content to the game. Rather I think it proper that instead I wait until the DLC's on sale at 75% off at some point later (hey maybe even during the next summer sale). £20 just seems way too steep to me for a DLC that's supposedly a required update to make the game more playable. =/
Also, if people are wanting to trade cards I have extra copies of Dead Island: Riptide, Football Manager, Tomb Raider and Torchlight II. I don't actually know how they work (ie what constitutes a set), but I do have nine unique cards if that amounts to anything?
Spyder68 wrote: 12.50 is a steal for Civ 5 didnt expect it to get that low.
Civ V Gold Edition at that. However, it wasn't purchase through Steam (and though I got it eventually put on Steam, I'll warn everyone now that buying a digital copy from Gamestop requires you to download their pseudo-Steam first. It's as bad as Origin.

I got it free with XCOM.
I have 2 Chivalry, 2 tomb raider, 1 prison architect,1 Reus and 1 riptide card spare. I need Bioshock, Skyrim, Kerbal and Torchlight.. My Steam name is = which makes me hard to find
Decided to get Evoland. This game looks really cool for us gamers that played through all the genre continuous evolutions. Not only that, I saw an enemy called "Kefka Phantom" in the screenshots.
If it has anything Kefka related, it must be played

Mother of God... the wait is finally over... I don't know whether to laugh or cry manly tears of joy.
The evidence is very thin to start thinking that HL3 is a mere 3 days away. I'm sure it means something (this is Valve) but the chances are good that it isn't HL3.

Since Duke Nukem Forever was released, we need a new "myth". I don't even think it's HL3, but Half-Life Episode 3 that's gonna be delayed eternally

If anyone has cards and doesn't know what to do with them, feel free to give them to me - Steam : Bigoz11
In sale news, if you ever wanted to get into Eve, the starter bundle is 75% off.
I am getting kinda of disappointed seeing the same games recycled through the sale. But I suppose its because I bought pretty much all I have time for. My will power is surprisingly strong haha
Steam account: draconiclord, Alias: Vash the Stampede
Was hoping to send you the Bioshock card, I swore I had to. Sadly I have only one.
So my Sales list has grown:
The Walking Dead
Assassins Creed 3
Saints Row 2
Civ 5: Gold
Dawn of War 2
New Additions:
Euro Truck Sim 2 - I really have no idea what made me buy this, there is something compelling/relaxing about driving around "Europe"
I swear those are the last. I was looking at Torchlight 2 but I'v got the first and didn't play it(I got it as a gift aswell) and there is Path of Exile which is a similar game for free.

Meh, if you ever feel playing a vastly inferior game, now you are able to!
III's the inferior? There's more recent ones in the series other than the online game?
Honestly I kind of play games like them more to just build up a nice little empire for myself rather than to play them competitively. I actually find it fun to start up a custom battle and set most, if not all the other nations to allies. At the start of the battle I move my builders to their empires as quickly as I can and ...wall them off. That way I control most of the map and can happily build away at my leisure.
Yes, I apparently play the series as The Sims: Age of Empires.

Yeah, I was so disappointed with III. After so much time playing AoE II having so much fun, AoEIII hits and I hated it. Maybe it was a better game but it didn't feel like the AoE I and AoE II I knew and loved.
In other news. Card Status:
Missing:
- Prison Architect
I am still missing the Chivalry and Torchlight II cards. If someone needs any of the following cards, Dead island, Football Manager, Kerbal, Prison Architect, Reus or Skyrim, maybe we can arrange a trade.
Edit: I got Gunpoint when it was on sale. It's a fun little game with multiple ways to solve the "puzzles", albeit a bit too short. Caveat: The controls can only be changed between wasd and the directional keys, so in case you've got a different keyboard layout or got used to a different (and better ) setup you have to use something like autohotkey to change the otherwise hard-coded controls.
Edit2: Got all cards once, yay.
Edit3: Need Bioshock, Chivalry, Tomb Raider and Torchlight II, have Prison Architect, Dead Island, Reus and Skyrim.
It's not Valve's fault everyone voted for a game you don't care about.
Now I'm trying to figure out if I should get Baldur's Gate...
The choice was between a F1 game, a Football Manager and a Basketball game - so not much of a choice here!
If you have never played it - yes. It aged quite well, but takes some time to get into. If you have played it before or still own an original copy: don't. Use the old copy and install some mods for widescreen, better res, more content etc.
..and wow, Prison Architect's price must be a bad joke. The game is way overpriced.
...I dunno, I see an AC III looking at me...After completing AC1, AC2, AC2 Brotherhood and Revelations, I sure as heck wanna see where the story goes and Steam always provides that "excuse" for buying it...
yes, Dark Souls is a great game and yes, 7,50€ is a ridiculously awesome price for it, but if you need to pay another 25€ to be able to play it on PC, you can keep it.
Thanks.
On further regard: if you like Asian settings, get Sleeping Dogs and if you haven't bought Max Payne 3 yet: do it.

I was thinkng getting kotor 2 is it worth due to ending (assuming I use community patches)?
Also I got spare chivalry, riptide, 2 footballs, prison and annoying guard.
Dark Souls is unplayable on PC without a Xbox 360 controller and the adapter costs 25€. Dark Souls is the laziest port I have ever seen for PC - the game does not even show you the keyboard shortcuts, it just uses the gamepad icons. It's THAT bad. Add a downright broken, fickery camera, actions that require pressing a keyboard and a mouse button at exactly the same time etc. etc.
It's a really, really, really shoddy port. Shame!
Right now, I am completing my "scrap list" aka games at <5$ that I'll buy tomorrow.

Any recommendations?
To be fair, it's not the first and I bet it won't be the last that has that problem. The real reason I think Dark Souls should be ashamed are the graphics. All textures are console-crappy ones and it took 2-3 days for a random dude create a patch that "fixes" this problem. Without this patch the game is far too ugly to be played.
As much as I HATE Kotor2, I'll try to give it a 2nd chance with the community patches you speak of. Not only that, I only played a pirated version of it, so it's another off my "Bad Karma" list.
P.S GOD-EMPRAH DAMN IT, I can't get a damn Prison Architect card!
Disappointed in Van Helsing not going down to 75%. The rest...meh. Pity for Dark Souls. Might pick it up at Christmas for the Xbox *looks at fiancee*
Apparently prices were bugged and are now properly discounted. Still...really? So many repeats...no series sales? Splinter Cell series? Meh, meh, meh. Just bought Chivalry.
For a last day its been a bit sucky. I really hate when they only put on game in a series up for sale, not the whole thing, especially when the previous games are old. Conversely I did pick up the complete Tomb Raider series for a tenner. ^^
Things I wanted to come up for sale but didn't? The original Call of Duty's(I couldn't give a toss about the later ones). Don't Starve could have been a lot cheaper (feck paying £7 for an indie game). Bioshock: Infinite was tempting, but I don't see the point in buying it at its current price unless the DLC is discounted to. Better to wait a year for the base price to go down as well.
...and the last 4 offers are in. To end with a blast, the last 4 flash offers are Crysis 2...uhm...Total War Shogun...eh...Retro City Rampage...and...Endless Space...okay, Valve, now you're just trolling.
Worst steam sale so far. First few days were good, then started the endless repetitions and the ending was a bad joke. Booo Valve. Booo.

There is a mod (if you PM Soladrin he can tell you where it is) that makes the game playable on the PC.
Or you could be like me. I bought Darksiders 1, found it annoyingly unplayable with the camera being tied to the mouse, and bought a wired xbox controller for 20 bucks (you don't need the fancy adapter) and downloaded a program off of Microsoft's website.

Or you could be like me. I bought Darksiders 1, found it annoyingly unplayable with the camera being tied to the mouse, and bought a wired xbox controller for 20 bucks (you don't need the fancy adapter) and downloaded a program off of Microsoft's website.
Ordered a used copy for the Xbox 360 for 11€ today
yes, Dark Souls is a great game and yes, 7,50€ is a ridiculously awesome price for it, but if you need to pay another 25€ to be able to play it on PC, you can keep it.
Thanks.
