As to the OP: Is it that hard to believe that users from two primarily English speaking countries are the large part of the membership of an English speaking forum?

...on a more analytical note - I think it's fair to say the bulk of posters here either play, or have played GW games. GW is a British company, with more years' groundwork here, and its other big export business is to the US. It's expanded into Europe mostly and a few countries elsewhere besides over the last decade or so, but it's not like those markets are anywhere near as prolific for GW as the first two.

"Bombing has begun in Canada. Canadian Government officials have offered their sincere apologies to all involved. There has been global condemnation of the widespread bombings, with the US and Britain offering their condolences to those affected and calling for tighter security to be put in place to stop it happening again. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has urged for talks between the groups involved in the latest spate of bombings, and has warned that sanctions may be put in place if a suitable agreement and conclusion is not reached.
Meanwhile, authorities across the globe have been asked to be alert for anyone attempting to carry out copycat bombings in the wake of this latest tragedy. There is split opinion amongst the public, however, with people quoted as saying that current regulations are "already too restrictive" and that "not enough is being done to allow for this sort of thing to occur under freer conditions", although most people hold a different view, with some saying that "[the] rules are there for the good of everyone" and that "bombing is a reckless act that risks the lives of innocent people, as well as ruining lives.".
Whilst there is difference of opinion, the fact that there are clear warnings against this sort of act speaks only of the need for further action to be taken against those who ignore such signs, and those who allow these acts to occur under their watch.

Nah, I am in an undisclosed location though. And enjoying a nice cold bottle of sobe, to ward off the fear, out of the ice chest we squeezed into Náströnd. It's a whale of a time. The internet in my lap, a 90mm and controls for four anti-tank missiles on my one side, a beer dispenser on my other. The US Army may have the most advanced weapons in the world, but they are novices when it comes to the fine art of carrying one's drink into combat. I've seen how they do it. Putting that delicate case of glass bottles out on top the tank, exposed, as part of their exterior stowage, where running into the shuck might bounce it off. For the love of god, what if it goes arseways and the enemy were to shoot the Gat? Then what?
It would be a terrible war crime what follows, I tell you.

Tell him not to be. Economically speaking, Quebec is actually in a better position than any other state or province in the US or Canada combined to be it's own economic entity. Not only does it hold 51% of Canada's total venture capital, it also has 61% of it's high tech industry, and is home to the world's largest producer of aluminum. Each year, Quebec exports 68 billion Canadian dollars+ worth of goods per annum, and it's primary imports are crude oil and cars.
This beats out Texas (the only other state or province with a serious interest in separation) due to it's diversity in major exports. (though Texas makes more money, it's also beholden to a single market, meaning it's less stable.). Interestingly enough, a joint venture between the two would effectively allow them to create two stable, viable states, as long as they don't piss off the rest of the US and Canada in the process.
Frankly, if they manage to elect a government even half as smart as the US Congress, they should be stable (meaning they could elect utter morons and probably remain economically viable). The real issue would be maneuvering through the ethnic minefield and making each ethnicity in Quebec feel fully invested in it. Which would be the tricky part.

Technically, our aluminium industry does not belong to us anymore, it's owned by a company in another country. Although our electricity is still, at the moment, making it viable to ship bauxite all the way to us.
The only reason my father wants to separate, and not everyone but an important part of the population, is to sever ties with the Anglophone world. With the laws being proposed or discussed right now... it feels a little xenophobic at the moment in here.
