To follow up on the previous Kickstarter post about Wild West Exodus, I wanted to get out more info about the game and getting access to the game over the next few months as everything goes into full release mode.
I'd like to also make sure people know about our Facebook page where we put regular updates regarding releases, model pictures and more info:

Official Token and Template Set
Just wanted to show off the official game token and template sets. Now that we are shipping out the minis we remembered that we never updated these to show off the high quality end product. All of these are top notch quality and should last a long time.
Also, don't let the light red color give you the wrong idea. It is actually very dark and bloody red in person. Camera lights are making it pinker than it actually is.
Hello backers, We are starting a progress thread to keep everyone up to date.
These will go up on Tuesday and Friday of each week until we can confirm without a doubt that the final package has been shipped.
This will also save everyone the trouble of emailing us and asking what is going on with their package. Please do not do that. We really are moving as fast as possible and do not have the man power right now to dedicate to reply to general emails.
We will do our best to answer emails within 48 hours but don't get upset if it takes a day or two longer. Again, we want to dedicate all available staff to shipping.
We would also like to point out that now that we are getting into some of the large orders with 200 plus models it has gotten slower to ship. The biggest issue is no two orders are the same. We allowed backers to completely customize their rewards and that forces us to check and double check each shipment to make sure the correct items are heading out.
Even with a well thought out plan and dedicated people in shipping it does take time. We are doing our best and will simply update on Tuesdays and Fridays what amount of packages have shipped up to that point.
Please don't let the number scare you. Shipping 20 corrupt level pledges is like sending out 100 wicked levels. This is just the nature of the beast at this point.
We also ask and suggest to send all emails to info@outlawminiatures.com. We will no longer check this comment area for questions.
We just do not have the time or people to do it correctly. The forum may also be a easier way to get in touch with us.

Getting pretty keen to have these in hand. Browsed the WWX shop and the minis (some of them at least) were looking very nice all painted up!
Nah they were still renders when I looked sadly. Here are some of the painted characters, not sure if they're production models or not though, but they look nice ; )
Spoiler:
Frank James
Jesse James
Dr Carpathian
General Grant

Sherriff Mick Ironclad
All I pledged for was the Mercenary (not-Serenity) crew and they arrived today. The casts are great (and not tiny like the Sedition Wars versions were) but I was looking at the cards and they're 2 different sizes. One is the exact same as a M:TG card (with square corners instead of rounded) the others are about 1/8" wider.
Miscuts? Not a huge deal (especially since I didn't buy the minis to use in the game) but I wasn't sure if this was an expected thing or not.
Our hired hands are made out of plastic. The technical name of our plastic is High Impact Polystyrene or HIP. This type of plastic is the same style and quality as what you have seen from GW, Wyrd Miniatures, and Dream-Forge. This is not resin plastic.
The rest of our models will be cast in high detail Resin. This is the same quality of resin that you have seen with forgeworld, Dark Age, and others. This is not the same as finecast or similar soft resins.
The goal for us is to take all of our models to plastic if we reach specific goals.
Very happy with more of them being in delicious WGF plastic than initially thought. It was always the plan iirc, but I don't recall them saying whether or not they're achieved it. A very nice surprise, and completely not hypocritical of me after I really disliked Mantic doing the metal Dreadball models ; p
Just to give everyone a heads up, Wild West Exodus will be having a tournament at Adepticon 2014 on that Thursday, April 3. It is a 16 man event and will last most of the day, but for those interested:
As far as the Mercenary crew being plastic, that was a decision made following the huge interest in the Mercenaries and our goal to fill those models with a lot of detail. We hope you enjoy.

So is it safe to assume that those us that wanted and expected them in resin have no way of getting them in resin?
Do you have a summary of what is in plastic and what is in resin? Are all hired hands plus the mercs plastic and all characters resin still?
Mantic had a recent controversy with sending out metal minis that people backed for as restic so people are on edge atm ; p The more you do in WGF plastic the happier I'll be personally as I think their plastics approach resin for detail.
Can't wait to see how they compare to DFG stormtroopers regarding height. As I use those for my IG, I could really see myself using the Wayward Eight for conversions.
Outlaw_Sean: are you allowed to link to the Outlaw store in your sig?

I can line them up next to basically any Tyranid and many Space Marines. Pick something.
Edit: For the record I somehow didn't know that they were "supposed" to be resin instead of plastic, but I'm absolutely happy they're plastic and wouldn't trade them for resin.
All Bases and Base Inserts are injection molded plastic
All Hired Hands and Hired Hand Heavy Weapons are injection molded plastic.
The Wayward Eight Mercenary Box set (Marcus Wayward, Jake Mattia, Hicks Kincade, Zarelda Kincade, Sierra Icarus, Flowing River, K-Free, Sun Totem) are injection molded plastic.
Templates and Tokens are injection molded plastic.
Characters, Light Support, Heavy Support are all done in high quality resin.
Not sure about being able to have the store in my sig, I'll take a peek at the forum rules.

If you do have DFG Eisenkern that would be golden, but any Space Marine on a regular base (not ½inch of basing too) would be swell!
That's great. They should have told us. I don't recall them doing so prior to the pledge manager ending. In fact, in this thread is the first I've heard.
EDIT: It does appear to be in update 107. I'm trying to see if this was before the pledge manager closed.
Yes, Update 107 says specifically that all the mercs will be made in plastic.
The FAQ on the main KS page - from before the campaign finished - said their goal was to do more in plastic if possible. This means that we all were made aware before the KS ended that there was a possibility that some or all resin models would be done in plastic instead.

Again, that isn't specific at all. At all. If I had known prior to the pledge manager ending that they'd be plastic I wouldn't have purchased all 8. As it is, the update came after the pledge manager ended. I want a refund for them. I'm hoping Outlaw Sean can tell me the route to go about that.
Not specific? It says exactly what happened was their goal. High enough demand for some minis resulted in it being worthwhile to produce them in hard plastic - so they did. *shrugs* not something I care to argue about though.
Do you really not like the look of those plastic minis? They look to have very high detail whilst having the much nicer properties of plastic rather than resin.

I bought them with the understanding they'd be resin. They look "okay". The detail is more shallow than I was expecting, as I thought they'd be resin, so they don't match up with my expectations. Further, they're too expensive based on the rest of the line in plastic, especially when the hired hands are cheaper for more models in the same material.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Plus, on that sun totem model. You get the awful flat bottom underneath the skirt, something that wouldn't have been the case with a resin cast.

I'll do it tomorrow (Saturday). Any requests or is a blue tac-ed River good enough?
But, if you ever do get an answer, please let us know.
I am more than happy to get them in "Hard Plastic" IF the detail is still good, though I honestly do prefer resin ("Real Resin") for character models, and stuff that isn't meant to be only in a single pose.
So, I can certainly understand your dissatisfaction.
I cropped and cut one of rigelds pics so it could be nicely added inline and more easily see the detail. Already said my piece on the rest, so I'll just say how much I really like this plastic ; )
Thanks Rigeld! Looks to be taller than GW stuff if she's standing straight and isn't ridiculously heroic scale so it'll probably be out of place in 40k. Looks really good though! I love the proportions of the mini.
Yeah - she's as straight as I could get her. All the other models require more assembly than I have time for right now but I might blutac Mal together to see how tall he is.
Wasn't having a go at your assembly in case that wasn't clear, it's just that she's crouching. If she was standing upright she'd be a lot taller than she is. Wouldn't say no to any more pics you choose to take ; )
OTOH, if you're using Eisenkern stormtroopers as IG, then it's fine, I think. As long as, even a-kimbo like that, she can fit on a 25mm, I'm fine with it.
Mal is about the same scale - slightly taller than a SM. I can't get the blu tac to look good and I don't want to give the wrong impression of the mini so I'm not going to post a picture.
I got my package on Thursday night. I'm almost done assembling them... I love it. Sure, not as poseable as some kits, but the dynamism is gorgeous. WWX, you did some great job on those chaps.
I'm going to recommend we use those for our Rogue Trader games. They look very baroque.

Ask, and ye shall receive, good sir. Now, the lighting at the Mezz'art this morning was what it was, I only had a couple of minutes before opening shop this morning.
Yes, that is genuine old, fat grey cat hair on the minis. That stuff sticks to foam like crazy.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Second batch.
Those are not auto-adjusted, they turn out better. Does anyone know how I can switch that off on my pictures, or do I have to reload?

Champion! Thanks for the pics, good quality shots show the minis well. Really happy with them from what I can see - what are your thoughts on them?

I noticed this with my mates foam. I swear half the body weight of his cat was stuck to his foam in the form of hair. Could probably sell battlefoam as cat hair attractors to keep houses clean of the stuff.

I had a look and couldn't see an option to frig with that. The second lot are definitely much better.
I really like them. The split head on "Inara" is not ideal, but if painted as a tiara or part of a hair net it could work. They are not meant to be generic minis, but with very minimal work can be used for a lot of things. They're damn tall though. I'll try to get into work fast enough to take a comparison shot with a Dreamforge gal and a snap fit space marine (their a bit smaller, I think) just to show the difference.
Per the quickstart rules the base sizes are 1.25", 1.75", 2.25", and 4.5". This is closest to 30mm (actually 31mm), 40mm (actually 44mm), 60 mm (actually 57mm), and the massive base is 114mm.

Excellent, yeah they are single pose characters so any multi purpose out of them would be an unexpected bonus, especially given the frequent failure/death/obscurity rate of new gaming systems. The height definitely seems problematic when used with other common ranges, but as you say, if it matches Dreamforge I'll be pretty happy too! Thanks again for the pics, helps tide us over until they arrive ; )

They did clock in at 32mm when I measured them. I remembered how important base size is when playing a TLOS skirmish game. being able to hug cover as much as the rules allow is crucial in, say, Infinity. So my Statuesque models on 30mm bases are at a bit of a disadvantage.
I do wish the best to WWX, even if I like the look of Wild West games, my gaming group is really not into them. The proportions of the mini are really swell, though. I'm getting tired of the huge heads, ginormous hands and bookcase-sized guns of some games.

You're all my Battle-Brothers!
I agree - and amen to that, Brother!
Also, I think I'll be fine at 30MM, 40MM and 60MM...
You asked us for base size, you're getting base sizes! If we're too precise for you, it's all on you!
So here is the first batch reloaded with original contrasts
And I just noticed the crack in Simon's buttocks... I'll have to fix that before I paint him.
Automatically Appended Next Post: And we should chip in to get heartserenade a copy of "not-Inara"... he does things with dresses that are out of this world.
A little taller, but the scale mismatch is probably more of a problem with 40k. Heroic scale needs to die I think ; p They seem to fit nicely with Dreamforge which is great, only slightly taller if at all and very similar scale.
Yup, I agree. But on the other hand, it's common for people not to all be the same height, and since the scale is close (no huge heads) then it makes it believable.
Man I'm wishing I'd put my $170 into this rather than robotech tactics which is making me more & more queasy by the day. At least I'd likely have something to show for it by now. Ok hurry up & get the KS stuff out so I can buy the 2p starter set already before I go broke lol.

Or not... They must be shipping to California last as me and a bud have not received ours yet.

Model Assembly Instructions

We have assembly instructions ready to go.
For anyone who has received their rewards you have found the Hired Hands and other plastic pieces in your box. These awesome models have amazing detail but because of the speed we needed to pack them at our printer did not have time to get us the instructions needed for the packages.
This required us to create PDFs that are now live on our website. Please follow this link to view or print out assembly instructions for all of the plastic items currently released.
As these go to retail next month we will provide the instructions in the box. For now anyone can use the website to get the information needed.
Thanks for being patient with us everyone. Oh, you may see a few links currently not available. Don't worry about those we are adding them as you read this.
As noted, they aren't all up there yet, but will be soon.
My pledge arrived a few days ago, really happy with it. The quality is outstanding, both the plastics and resin. The hard cover rulebook is also really high quality, very heavy and has a lot of story stuff in it (that I haven't read yet). The tokens and templates look good too. Well packed, order was correct, some nice sheets were included etc. Can't fault WWX in any way for how they've handled this KS.
The plastics have to be the highest quality plastics that I've seen, at least on par with the Eisenkern also made by WGF, those guys are the masters of plastic it seems. My only problem with them is that there are no options - it's not really multi-pose plastic, it's just high quality plastic. Plastic is good for multi pose so it's a shame to not see that taken advantage of, though the kit will still result in some very sexy models. The resin also has no optional components that I could see, not that I expect them with resin - Vic is the only good one that I've seen add optional heads and such with good resin kits lately. I'm glad I went in for 6 iron horses, I think they're going to make great chaos bikes once they're chaosified a little.

I know as soon as I get the required points put together and painted; I'll definitely put in an application for this. Would love to see this game grow.
I wouldn't mind getting into this unfortunately Wayland games seem to be the only uk supplier which puts that on hold til more interest is shown. Which I am surprised by how little interest there is
Until he updates, here is a pic of my moderately painted bear. Also, these are up for sale in the webstore. (http://www.wildwestexodus.com/) The bear is Geronimo of the Warrior Nation.
I would like announce an awesome new series of videos that will be coming out over the next few weeks to help you and your friends learn Wild West Exodus.
Enjoy Video One.
Nice to see WWX getting more publicity here. I've been trying in vain to strike up an interest in WWX locally but no one will even look at anything non gw. But by God they rush to order the newest gw40k kits.
It's time for the third installment of the Wild West Exodus Community Model. Vote now and vote once per day until September 26th. This is your time to decide the future of Wild West Exodus!
