Many people have started threads like this and they have been extremely successful. So I wanted to see what would happen with this. (And if I have been very stupid to post this as there is already a thread about this topic ) Anyway, I'll start off with mine: At my local model store there was this teen who went around beating us adults and saying ''U mad?'' Then, finally I beat him and responded to him ''U mad?'' That became my victory saying and has stuck ever since!
EDIT: My profile picture has now changed to a dark eldar mandrake which is my favourite unit in the game.
I don't think mine requires actual "meaning"...it's the black knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail after King Arthur chops his arm off. And if you don't know what MPatHG is, you need to vacate yourself to a floating asteroid. Bring your own oxygen and a sweater.
Right now is an image of Satsuki Kiryūin, a character from Kill la Kill I'm a major fan of. My forum title and signature matches the pic too, I like to keep it thematic
Its probably my best face on my models that I've painted. From the photo it doesn't look too spectacular but in person, the amount of time I put into it and the blending were a turning point in what lengths I go to when painting my models... Also I like pale skin.
For years I had a picture of a Squat, a decade or more ago this was a non-too subtle trolling attempt at the people who used to laugh about how crappy Squats were, and how it was good that GW had cut them from the game. But, it kind of lost its potency..
Now I just have whatever project I'm interested in or working on at the time, so it gets changed a lot! Mixed between Mars Attacks, Infinity, John Hurt being facehugger-ed (AvP) and now Dark Ages (for SAGA)..
Mine is something I put together, Lara Croft from Tomb Raider and Raziel from the Legacy of Kain Games, Soul Reaver. My favourite characters and game series! Best works of Crystal Dynamics and Eidos in my opinion
Mine's a retro poster for Fallout 2 (I just love that artist's work). Previously it was a smexy lady, but now that I seem to have become a little post apocalyptic centric with my painting of late I feel a change is necessary until this awful phase passes.
Ah yes I remember that one Wyrmalla, was a good one.
Best avatar pic then on Dakka?
My pic would probably be either Alpharius (who has tied his in with his name, but made it prettier to look at), Agamenmon for using an avatar that totally seems to match the character of his posts, and used to like RiTides big rock guy.. used to like Morathi's Darkest Sin's one of the dark elf/eldar lady one also..
d-usa's Miley Cyrus/chicken was probably the worst one I have ever seen, on any forum

Cheers, will pass that on to Aura, she drew it for me. She's been planning to update it soon, I'll nudge her this week. That one mentioned, although good was her redrawing someone else's pic while she was learning how her coral draw worked. Now she has photoshop paint and is a whole level higher with her drawing/colouring again, I'd like her to do her own version this time.
My current one is one of my fave bits of GW art ever on a mag/game box, mainly becasue I went through a long period where I played Necromunda and Escher where my favourite house by a mile.
I like walrus and I like cats. Got bored one day and wondered what a walrus-cat hybrid looked like so I googled it.
Didn't know there was actually a picture for it.
Mine is a model of a Dwarven Grenadier that i painted. Trust me, the picture does no justice.
It changes from time to time, but im trying to stick to my own work. The current meaning?
I painted this, and i am proud of it. That, and i actually did it specifically for my avatar.
I thought Id be patriotic and add NZs only produced tank ever, (orks have been rumoured to offer their services to produce the framework of this vehicle.) Complete with corregated iron, mattresses and a nice amount of machine guns this tank was a true NZ vehicle. Topped with it being able to be made by farmers in a few hours (thanks to the amazing idea to use tractors as the chasis) made this the perfect weapon.
I also identify with him in wanting to destroy all of humanity with apocalyptic firepower, but holding back on that urge due to the power of friendship.
A Sedition Wars Quasimodo because I really liked the green line art and was in the process of pledging for the KS when I stopped lurking and started posting
(also because my normal forum picture of one of my cats didn't really fit in here)
Mine is The Question, arguably one of the most interesting, crazy and wittiest DC characters. So much so that he's the template Rorschach was based upon in Watchmen.
I also use it because the facelessness of the character represents how we all are in some sense when we are on the interwebz; anonymous and you can't tell whether I'm being sarcastic or horny. Or both.
I'm going to tell you something important now, so you better dig the wax out of those huge ears of yours and listen! The reputation of Team Pink echoes far and wide. When they talk about its badass leader - the blob of indomitable spirit and masculinity - they're talking about me! The mighty AduroT!
Mine is the logo from my Adepticon team from last year: A crashing not-stormraven with a little stick figure getting ready to bail out of the side door.
It served well as the benchmark of our success, and forever a testament to the fine art of failure. I made it one night at about 3:00 AM after a combination of cough syrup and beer.
I've got Mordin from Mass Effect at the moment, as I'm on one of my ME kicks, but my usual pic is my converted Dark Apostle - back before there was a model, and they were only from the Word Bearers.
I've also had pictures of Alucard from Hellsing, and Mayuri Kurosutchi from Bleach.
Just a cool picture relating to my favourite 40K army. I like it because it's pretty badass, but also because I like the slightly silly/whimsical element of the Sister smoking a cigarette.
Back in 3rd I made a webpage for my army, partially as an exercise in coding HTML, partially to host some tactics/army building articles I had written. As part of that effort I did a photo shoot for my army, ’shoped them on a basic black background, and saved them in a web-friendly format.
Fast forward a number of years. I’m looking for an avatar pic for a different message board (HERO Games) and looking for something of mine I can quickly grab. Enter the old, RT-era Lieutenant Commander. When I started posing here, I just kept the same pic. I should probably get a better shot of him, but that would take effort.
Well, I wanted a gold shield to represent my name since that is the name of the mercenary company I created for a unit of Tilean Heavy Cavalry. Since most of my DoW/Empire minis have been stripped and waiting to be repainted in a much better fashion then when I started playing long ago, I decided just to find a picture of something to stand in until then. I think this was a model done up for a shield for Achilles I believe it said, which I liked because it looked similar to what I wanted all those Lorenzo Lupo shields I got to sort of look like.
It's a Dreadnought listening to Andrew W.K. a little too loudly.
Needless to say, he's having a GREAT time. I like to think that all the Dreadnoughts spend a bunch of their downtime just working on playlists for when they get into battle.
Changed it again, in honour of my first actual completion of ME2's story - been playing ages, but never wanted to risk losing my team!
Feels good to have finally done, and done it it right, first time - no deaths, crew saved.
Mine is a image of Chloe Morden and her "friends" - the Shadows - its the cover of an Alt universe pack I wrote for the spaceship minis game A Call to Arms: Babylon 5
It's a picture of GW art of whatever my current rank title is done in the infamous Obama "Hope" poster style. I presume it'll change when I hit whatever the next rank change track number is.
