Craxas & his war-band were marching steadily when they felt the shock-wave pass through them a few marines collapsed on to the muddy floor Craxas himself almost fell over if not for the old tree that had been conveniently there for him to lean on.

Marine: What was what that?....
Craxas:.... must of been some foul slaaneshe ....thing, we must make haste towards the sewers if we to get what we came for & get out.
Marine: My lord that shock-wave knocked out all our electronics..my Heads up display is gone.

With that Craxas kept on marched through the jungle it would be many miles before they could reach the sewer entrance

TGN saw the demon lord and knew he would die, he knew he had made a mistake. He knew these things even as he used his jump pack to fly towards the demon he hacked and slashed at the thing but it just healed and one more thing he knew when he felt one of the demons tentacles punch through his body was that this was not done, this was not finished for before him he saw a golden giant smiling and with his last ounce of strength teleported him and the still living Grey knight's away from that place. he didn't know where he just did it .

Ludd opened up the vox. "Maverick, do not ignore me. You left me to die, why should I work for you? Why do you assume we are on the same side?"

Ludd strode towards the 63rd, greeting the familiar faces that welcomed him back to the camp. The regiment was just over half strength, and Ludd felt a keen loss for the men no longer in their billets. However, we must be strong to face the monstrosity Ludd thought.

Craxas was caught off-guard on the way to the sewer a slaneeshe cult laid an ambush and he and his troops fell for it, luckily there was plenty of cover they were pinned down by constant lasgun & bolter fire Craxas occasionally managed to pop out of cover to nail a few cultists in the head with his bolt pistol but no matter how many they killed more came into the fray

Marine: My lord we cant keep this up forever our bolters are slowly running out of ammo.
Craxas: There is no other way but forward, Khorne demands their skulls!
Marine: we have spotted a predator coming our way, we don't have any anti-tank equipment to deal with it

Craxas: see that las cannon over there, if we can capture it before the predator arrives it will be much easier to defeat...tell the men to charge

Before the marine could relay the message to everyone he was shot in the head by a stray bolter round amongst the many wizzing las fire.
His armoured corpse crashing into the muddy ground "Useless" Craxas Thought He then relayed the message though his comlink "Men we charge now & take the lascannon do not fail me...
The blood champion marines burst out of their cover spots & blindly charged the entrenched enemy although some were cut down by accurate las-fire they managed to reach their trenches & the slaughter began although very brave & resilient the cultists were no match for the berserk khornite marines as they cut down dozens of cultists & even slaneeshe chaos marines who were unlucky enough the get in melee combat with them.

Having acquired the lascannon the blood-champion marines could hear the unmistakable sound of a predator approaching "Get that lascannon ready, everyone else move to cover!" Craxas roared
Three marines manned the lascannon rotating & position the heavy gun at the source of the rumbling approach of the predator. "Not yet..." Craxas said the rumbling got louder & closer "not yet...." The rumbling got closer & closer "NOW!!!" Craxas roared again.

The marines popped out of their cover & pelted the predator with bolter fire & grenades but was not in range of the lascannon yet it took out a few marines with it's main cannon & bolter guns but it was distracted by flanking marines when it came into the view of the lascannon which opened continuous fire the laser easily burning through its hull a lucking grenade toss by a marine manged to cripple the predator from the inside out leaving a smoking heap of metal.

Marine: My lord look there is the sewer entrance!
Craxas: Good very good guard my flank while i get this door open.

Craxas walked to the it had a computerized lock which needed something... he cautiously stepped on the pad & immediately several wires plugged into his armour interfacing with the console after a few moments of entering codes & passwords the door was opened & the blood champions rushed though

Coc0 charged forward through the ranks of lesser daemons of the thruster lord. On top of the dreadnought sat captain ladunov, taking out daemon after daemon with his sniper rifle. They were going to show hardiferous that the imperium will not falter without a fight.

Meanwhile on mount pelverest's high ridges the rest of the crimson fist forces were advancing. They had received orders to set up a command post on the mountain's summit. From there the two conjoined forces of thrusters and anti-thrusters could operate safely and somewhat out of reach of the lord.

Distorted screaming came over the vox channels on several frequencies. "Repeat that command, we require orders and targeting parameters. Do you copy, over?"
Commissar Solkan was getting desperate. 'Where the hell is TGN, or anybody for that matter?' he thought to himself in the chill of the caverns.

Ladunov heard Solkan's voice on the vox and turned on his earbead.

"Solkan, this is Ladunov, captain of the Crimson Fists 6th company. What is your status? Over."

Looking at the Communications screen from the bridge. Nikev read the messages as they were relayed through text. Picking up the mic he spoke words that he was told never to say, but he was forced to under these circumstances. "This is Commander NIkev to all of the Loyalist or Thruster Forces, move to the seeping forest. Rescue is awaiting all forces there. This world is lost. We must save all we can for a better strike to destroy this Abomination!"

"That is a negative, I am sorry. The best we can do is cover you from the tree line. But once you are in the tree line, keep heading deeper into the forest where it is most moist.There will be a large platform pad, hidden but large enough to hold a platoon. Stand on the pad and You will then be teleported to a safer area. I Repeat, Infantry Fire Support from Treeline is all you can get. Venture into the forest until you reach the Platform to be brought to the safe zone."

Solkan sighed. It was better than nothing. "Copy that command. Over and out." He switched out the vox and turned to another frequency.
"Solkan to Cavers. We are getting out now. Have the formations ready to move by 0700." He turned to the Wolfborn and bowed.
"My lord, I request that you do the same." The tall figure nodded and relayed orders to his lieutenants. Solkan was pretty sure the Eldar
already knew.

Coc0 reading all this on his display contacted Nikev and said:

"Nikev, if you want me to get out of this hellhole i charged into you better send me a dropship to pick me up! And also, all my Fist forces are at the summit of mount pelverest setting up a base camp!"

Not waiting for Nikev to answer Coc0 then contacted one of his his last remaining battle barge in orbit (OOC - Yes, its still there. But its just unarmed and heavily damaged.)

"This is commander Coc0, are your teleportation systems still operational?"

"Sorry M'lord, nothing is. Life support is barely holding out and engines have been turned off to power that." answered the fleet commander.

"Well Ladunov, its seems we're taking a stroll to the seeping forest." Said coc0 and turned around.

NIkev picked the mic back up "Uhhh, thats a negative, as the Flagship isn't in the same planetary zone, we are a good distance away. This ship just has the ability to tap into the Telepad there and to Send the teleportees to its ship-pad. Getting to the Seeping Forest pad is the only way." Finishing his conversation with Coc0loc0, NIkev walked with the generals of the combined armies that survived the Citadel assault and headed for the Telepad. "Well Friends" He said to them "Looks like we're in for a fight."

"We're here" Captain Marsle said over the intercom.

The troop carrier "Benign Interdiction" exited the warp as it approached Thrustabon. The captain looked through the deck windows and spotted a wrecked craft floating in orbit around the planet and saw the lack of the other craft that were supposed to be arriving along with them.

"Sir, we just got a message from 'Emperor's Thumb'," the servitor began mechanically "it states that the other craft in the fleet were moved towards a higher status threat, we are the only craft that was supposed to continue towards Thrustabon to aid the imperial forces.".

"So, what happened to the other landers?" General Vertol asked the captain as he entered the bridge.

"They were rerouted, we are the only support these men are getting." the Captain responded as he began ordering communications to the wounded vessel floating ahead of them.

The general tapped the Captain on the shoulder to interrupt,
"That vessel looks friendly and hurt, but I want to speak to the commanding officer planetside." General Vertol said plainly. "A certain Commissar Neekev, Nykev, Nikev. Yes, Commissar Nikev. Get him on the vox and tell him the situation with the reinforcements and ask him how we can help. All of our tactical solutions are out the window and we need some new info."

The general tuned around and began walking back to the troop accomadations, noting several of them were completely empty. The Kyrie 15th were a wounded company, the fact that they alone were being sent to aid forces already being attacked on all sides was a joke and James Vertol was not laughing.

Craxas ran through the sludge & slimy waters of the underground sewer system, his warband close behind "fire!!" Craxas yelled as they encountered nurgle cultists in these sewers the marines slaughtered the poorly armed cultists in a matter of seconds. As the marines regrouping Craxas walked up to an old map embedded into the stone showing the the many pathways of the sewer system

Craxas: hmmmmm.....
Marine: Do you know where we are my lord?
Craxas: according to this map we are here, but we need to get here under the main palace sewers if we are to get our prize
Marine: but this map was embedded here 2,000 years the system could changed
Craxas: one thing about those backwards morons is they like to keep things the same i'd bet my soul to khorne, however we should expect cultists,mutants & other gak in these sewers. Now lets move out

Craxas moved on with his marines close by as they navigated the treacherous sewer system they found hundreds of small nurgle cults,mutant settlements,sewer monsters,walking undead & eliminated them & destroyed the temples & shrines to nurgle they continued down this pattern of navigating the sewers & eliminating threats until they came upon a walled underground city of nurgle.

Craxas: hold!!
Marine: by Khorne! they have a bloody city down here
Craxas: indeed they do by why don't they infect the surface world?
Marine: I don't know my lord maybe they lack the numbers
Craxas: What ever the case that city stands in our way we must burn it to the ground

Hmmm, I'm feeling like a little plot twist before I quit this RPG.

(OOC - Yeah, the thread is kinda dieing, i say we go out gloriously, kill our character and end with Exterminatus.

(OOC- well, my character is safe. So feel free to kill your characters if you wish. and the Whole Hardiferous thing WAS the plot twist. so.......as long as it leaves the story open to be continued at a later time(though I doubt it will be) feel free to scrounge up a plot twist. Just don't involve me or who I'm with.)

However after a few minutes of fire fighting it looked as this was going nowhere

As the grey knights we kept busy Craxas yelled to his troops to charge forward into the underground city they slaughtered all who stood before them but they had to move fast. They encountered heavy resistance but slowly pushed onward then he heard a familiar voice over his com-link

Moros: Craxas My Dear Friend im afraid i have...........troubling news for you.......the imperium pricks have ordered an extermintus on the planet

Moros: Im Afriad you got only an hour the get the package my thunderhawks will be waiting up top...don't make this our last chat

with that the com switched off & Craxas knew he had to work his men double time he pushed through fierce resistance & pushing through an eternity of mazes. eventually finding a manhole directly underneath the main palace although he had to blast through hundreds of crazed nurgle cultists some of his marines went down but he could not worry about that. he climbed the manhole along with 250 surviving marines he chucked a few dozen krak grenades into the manhole to slow those nurgle bastards down.

He looked as men "My loyal minions today is the day that you prove your worth to me he must rush to wards the very top of this palace to gfain an artifact that will ensure my immortality, though this palace is ill defend due to the battle outside there will still be resistance.....we have less than 45 minutes to make it to the top were our thunderhawks are waiting

The marines moved fanning to different positions blasting away the scraps of resistance that stood in their way. outside Craxas could hear exchange of bolt fire tank shells & artillery tearing this place apart infact some of those shells hit the palace shattering glass & take a few marines with it. As they made their way to the top they found tougher resistance of loyal guardsmen who were easily killed but they also found stormtroopers who were a pain the ass but were killed nonetheless.
Craxas soon spotted a hydra tank that the guard somehow drove into the place the marine quickly going for cover before the hydra could see them.

He Whispered "Does anyone have any Krak Grenades left" None were left so Craxas decided that the he would approach the hydra tank stealthy but the clank of his armour alerted the hydra tank of his presence it tried to open fire but craxas was already on top of the tank, opened the hatch & killed the crew with his bolter. He signaled he marines they the path was clear he went into the next room guns blazing the lascannon fire simply bounced off his terminator armour he proceeded to slaughter everyone there & moved on with his marines. In Half N hour he had made all the way to the specified location slaughtering his way through hundreds of guardsmen,a few dozen loyalist marines & an inquisitor but he was shocked to see what layed in the last room however

"Recall all transports." the Captain said to a servitor.

The pilot of the transport began to turn it back towards the troopship, the jarrin turn was noticeable to its passengers.

"What is the meaning of this?" General Vertol asked the pilot.

"We were ordered to return to the troopship." the pilot responded metallically.

A few minutes later, James Vertol was on the bridge of the ship demanding to know why his troops were recalled.

"The planets going to die." the Captain said coldly "An exterminatus was issued after a massive warp storm allowed a greater daemon into the world."

General Vertol had been robbed of his cance t fight in this warzone, he wouldn't have it.
"Is there anything on this vessel that can strike the planet?"

"We only have weapons for self defense and to clear landing zones for the dropships." the Captain said "Why?"

"Hit the planet with everything that can hit it." General Vertol began "We'll use the self defense weapons to stop any tainted craft from leaving the planet."

A quick argument broke out, but Vertol eventually got his way. The first salvo began to enter the atmosphere scant seconds later.

Ludd stared at the sky, purple, red, grey... all the colours of the spectrum and more seemed to co-exist in the vast vista. He picked up his plasma pistol and sword and walked out of the command post, he knew what he had to do.

TGN and his Grey knight's fought bravely and eventually overcame the chaos spawn. a voice crackled over his comm link "all personnel evacuate now exterminatus has been ordered". TGN turned to his Grey Knight's " justicar urian activate your teleport beacon and tell the Emperor's wrath to bring us up as soon as the first cyclonic torpedo is launched" "now to find ludd" and with that he vanished and appeared in front of his arch enemy "LUDD" he roared " face me no tricks just sword and cunning"

As the cultist scampered back towards the warp gate he noticed lord Mozzyfuzzy sitting on the steps of a desecrated imperial shrine, with a smoking pipe and a look, which simply wondered why this entire war had gone to pot.

Seeing the last of his cultists begining to leave, Mozzyfuzzy simply sighed and walked into the warp gate.
(to a horizon with a setting sun and accompanying music, [whatever you guys feel is most appropriate for this kind of moment{which in case you hadn't realised was the end of the film where the hero takes one look back before riding off into the distance}])

When Craxas Peered through the wall he saw several space marines & a buttload of guard protecting the artificat "Bloody hell....fething captians no less" Craxas cursed. he signaled his men to open fire the suprise of the attack led to three of the captians being shot down while the rest were going to be a problem the guardsmen followed the captians lead & took cover but Craxas had more than enough marines to begin slaughtering the guardsmen Craxas ended the fight quickly as time was of the essence. he quickly grabbed the chaos artifact & headed toward the waiting thunderhawks when he was alterted the sound of lasgun & bolter fire he turned around to see waves upon waves of chaos guardsmen & slaaneshe marines pouring in they wanted the artifact aswell he took cover as shot 5 foolish marines in the head with his pistol taking careful aim & making sure to hit each enemy in the head.

The Blood champion marines soon ran out of ammo and reverted to their melee weapons & stated to run this into a bloodbath Craxas himself ran out of pistol ammo and using his poweraxe with only one hand since he had to carry the artifact in the other. Craxas Fought with Savage brutality & fell thousands of pathetic guardsmen & dozens of marines but this was a losing battle his armour was barely holding togather from the multiple bolter shots he was receiving but he kept on fighting he sliced the head off a noise marines, cut a raptor in half & decapitated several guardsmen at once with a swing of his mighty axe he looked around & saw his marines being overwhelmed & killed....he fought his way to one of the thunderhwaks ships a few marines had made with him he scaremed to the pilot "TAKE OFF NOW!!" The thunderhawks engines roared to life & incinerated the foolish enemies who were tryng to force the door open, At last a bit of peace had come to Craxas mind as watched the war torn city below, he finally had a chance to look at this artefact & opened the casing inside he found a.....book. "All this for damned book!?...no matter moros will explain later"

The thunderhawk slipped past the imperial blockade & headed towards their ship. Once the thunderhawk docked with the battlebarge The battlebarge engaged its warp drives & left the system seconds before the extermintus went into effect

@Scorpionov- But Creeds my best mate so what you thought was your thunderhawk seat, was really a vortex grenade, so the pressure of Craxas sitting on it made it explode.

The thunderhawks flew up towards the atmosphere, around them explosions and chaos filled the skies. Coc0 stood in the troop compartment of one of these craft. It had been able to pick him and Ladunov up before the planet started falling to the torpedoes.

Ladunov stood at one of side windows of the thunderhawk. at the horizon he saw the hulking thruster lord standing, waving his arms like lightning and screaming out cries. The captain just kept staring at the beast. Suddenly he saw a cyclonic torpedo hit the beast right below the neck. The device exploded and split into dozens of smaller charges. The beast was torn apart by the shear force, turning to ashes while letting out its final scream.

Ladunov then walked away from the window to coc0. When having reached his commander's side he said:

"It's all over. It's all finally over."

"No, this may just be the beginning..." Coc0 answered.

"Sir, several ships have left the orbit. One of which was identified as tainted." a servitor said to the captain.

"Yes, a battlebarge, something we don't have weapon capabilities to ward off." the captain responded.

"We also have the other ships identified as imperial sire, what are your orders for those?" the servitor questioned.

"Hail them." the Captain responded quickly.

A loud beep indicated that his signal was being sent across all friendly channels.

"To all imperial transports, this is Captain Eduard Marsle of the troopship Benign Interdiction. We are willing to assist in extraction of your forces and are capable of carrying additional transports if necessary. If you do wish to dock, hail back and follow proper docking procedures. Ship security forces will meet you in the landing bays to aid in the procedures." Captain Marsle finished in a monotone voice.

General Vertol was in the landing bay with his men within 5 minutes wearing rebreaters and hazardous environment suits. Most of them were armed just in case the imperials turned out to not be imperials.

So who actually won?

If nobody won then I claim victory.

"Captain Halonachos, this is Techmarine Aldeus of the Crimson Fists. Our fleet was destroyed and our Thunderhawks are close to bingo fuel. Requesting permission to dock on your transports, over." The pilot of the main thunderhawk spoke to Halonachos over the vox.

Ludd drew his sword and his elegant pistol...
"One last time..." he muttered under his breath. Behind him lay his entire armoured force, the husks of smoking metal ripped open by the unholy powers of the daemon lord. With a hoarse shout, he raised his sword and charged at the towering monstrosity, red lightning rippled down the length of his sword, arcing up to hit the beast. As he fired off shots of glowing plasma into the creature, a faint blue haze extended out from his body. Slowly he began to glow, "No. You will not deny me this." He muttered grimly, striding forwards regardless of the ethereal effect that the strange light had. However, someone disagreed and as Ludd was about to thrust his sword through the fibrous mass of the daemon's calf, the blue glow sucked itself back into Ludd's body and with a scream, he was ripped away from his last chance of revenge...

How was that for an open ended plot twisting finish?

The Commanders, torn asunder, mysteriously disappearing or escaping via ship, would not forget this day.
As the Imperial Ships blasted away at the planet, it began to break apart. All the while Lord Hardiferous was laughing maniacally at the carnage that he caused. As the Bombarding reached his location, he looked toward the oncoming weapons and smiled, because he knew. Chaos, can never truly be destroyed.

The thunderhawks of the Crimson Fists chapter landed in the landing bays of the troopship Benign Interdiction. The troopship itself lacked the accomadations for space marines, many of the bunks were too short and there would be little room for the power armor the marines wore.

As the marines exited their landers the Kyrie's in the bay saluted them with the aquila and even the least battle hardened of the shocktroopers could note a gloom hanging over the head of the space marines now entering their craft.

While the shocktroopers had been robbed of a chance to fight the marines had been robbed of valuable men and of course parts of their fleet.

CoC0 approached Vertol and easily dwarfed the unenhanced human.

General Vertol flashed the aquila and CoC0 halfheartedly returned the gesture out of kindness to the Guard commander.

"General James Vertol." General Vertol said bowing to the marine commander, "We are sorry we were not able to aid you and the other imperial forces earlier."

"Don't worry general." CoC0 replied monotonely "There will be another time for you to fight, only this time you may not be late."

The troopship had belonged to the imperial navy, but now was under the command of the Crimson Fists until relieved of the duty.

The marines would have a rough time resting on the small bunks if they rested at all.

General James Vertol would learn about enemy tactics from the Crimson Fist commander CoC0.

The loyalists would continue to wage war against the forces of evil.

TGN looked around he was in a white area everyone he had ever known was around him and he knew everything he needed to know. he cast out his mind and found the soul he was looking for and whispered to it"it is not yet your time" and with that he walked to a great golden figure in the distance and his final word was "ludd"
