The Spetznats returned, just in time to see that they were smart to get their weapons. They instantly began to open fire on the huge daemon in the chamber. "HAHAHAHA! THOSE TICKLE! WHY NOT LET ME TICKLE YOU WITH A GIFT IN RETURN?" It boomed. The Violators snapped out of it quickly as they readied their weapons, the platoon sections with the Kommissar took time for her to rally, but with Father Orlov there, it was possible. "Listen not to the Daemon, for it is a liar! banish the Daemon for it is unclean! SEND THE DAEMON BACK TO THE WARP!" he finished. this finished rallying the troops.
Rat, Ogre and Cook got their meltas ready. The Daemon erupted from several spots, the Spetznats swarmed by smaller versions of it no higher than their knees.
Mikhail said "Great unclean one, by your description, I have your name and shall use it to send you back from whence you came." The Crusaders had taken positions of defense, shields held at the ready, swords out and prepared to attack. The same with the Adept, who had a large hammer
Valentina was also in battle stance.
The Daemon spoke "BUT I JUST GOT HERE< AND I HAVE SO MUCH PARTYING TO DO< SO MANY GIFTS TO BESTOW!" he chortled as if it were all a big joke. Mikhail got his attentions by raising his hand and uttering an invocation that saw lightning leap from the fingertips to the beast, and that drew a bellow fo rage and pain from it.
"NOW!" he yelled and the Violators and platoon section all fired at once, burns erupted on the monster at where the meltas and krak grenades hit, the las bolts having little effect as they did nothing to the potent creature from the warp. It charged at the men and women of the Khadrovian Iron Guard, who all held their position, the Inspector General read from the book. "N' urg'lethar, na' hoth, return to the place of Nurgle and be banished for a thousand years and a day so sayeth the Emperor, in His Holy name do we command you!"
That made the Great Unclean One stop mid stride, and he then chortled, "OH, SO YOU WISH TO BANISH ME? KNOW MY NAME DO YOU? BUT NOT MY TRUE NAME!" and with a swing of rusty chains, he batted a squad of Khadrovians aside.
The Spetznats were all laying where the tiny daemonic imps had killed them, they ran back to their "father" and nestled amongst his entrails. "NOW YOU WILL ALL BE PUNISHED AS YOU HAVE ANGERED ME!" the greater daemon bellowed.
Mikhail drew his force blade and shield, he and his retinue charged as the Psyker gave them protection from the diseases of the monster, Vasily and the Violators as well as Orlov and Zvedvedov charged, all engaging the monster in melee.
Mikhail drove his sword into the guts of the Daemon, and willed himself into the attack, even as more people were smashed flat by the daemons' mighty fists.
The Great Unclean beast looked surprised and pained. "NOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo!" it shouted as it faded away.
"For a millenia and a day foul one!" Mikhail canted. He then dropped to his knee and prayed with sword in front of him, as did his warriors.
"What was that thing?" Vasily asked. Valentina smiled at him and said, That was a Greater Daemon of Nurgle, very nasty." everyone shook their heads in agreement to that.
Father Orlov spoke next. "All of you will swear yourselves to secrecy about this! By order of the Holy Throne!" Mikhail stood. "The good father is right, you people will have to swear secrecy, and those that have survived may get re-assigned to special units after this is over."
That brought a hushed whispering. "Nothing to worry about, you are all veterans now and worthy of elite postings. The Kommissar and Father will likely be given new troops to whip into shape."
"What about these creatures?" Vasily asked referring to the web making things that had attacked the Spetznats.
"Those will be collected for study by the right departmento. " Mikhail and the adept said together.
As Vasily and Valentina seemed dangerously close, Kommissar Zvedvedov placed herself with her back to the young woman and faced Vasily. "I think we should get back to base and have that Regicide game." she said to him, her eyes boring into his.
Vasily looked at Valentina, who nodded, and then to the Kommissar, "Of course we will."
Mikhail turned and said, "Oh yes, thgere is still the matter of handling that Lt. Troucescau of yours!"
Zvedvedov turned around smiling coolly, "Oh I would not be so worried about trouble from him anymore Inspector General."

oh the great unclean one...*holds his nose closed*...
but seeing all those zombyfighters before i should have thought in that direction...
if they didn´t swear secrecy, would the lot of them be executed by the inquisition for spreading heretical talks?
so the violators have yet again climbed up the social/military ladder due to this mission...fitting and well deserved!
and i hope vassily is smart enough not to anger Zvedvedov any further with sweet looks at valentia.... or this might get very much more ugly than facing the nurglish demon^^
thanks for the quick update^^ was very wellcome to my breakfast^^

Oh yeah, that was why they had to work to rally the troops.
Yes, spreading of stories of such things could lead to servitor status, or penal legions!
Vasily lives dangerously!^^
Figured that would be a good update.
Soon I will make a story from the POV of a Necron Lord.
24297
Post by: Viktor von Domm
now this is something i would found totally new^^ necron fiction...never seen that around here...mind you it isn´t as if i had a lookaround for that but there you go^^
of course he loves danger...in all it´s shades^^ and he uses all weapons at his disposal...meltas, grenades, powerswords...and if all else fails amasec and some flowers possible to sooth the tides of war between sexes^^
do servitors perserve a sense of self after their treatment? or is it rather like death to a personna?
2326
Post by: shasolenzabi
Death of persona as they scrub your mind out, and then half your brain is replaced with a cogitator to do the job they assign to your modified body.
Yep, that Vasily is one smooth guy.
Oh, it will be a new story telling for me as it will be first person telling.

Nice work!
Getting reprogrammed into a servitor is one of the worst punishments the inquisition can give without direct death.

i think i have aquired their codex but never came around to read it.... be sure to give me a line when you write the story^^
well sometimes i think the IoM is the cruelest one of the factions around... not even the peaceful death is allowed to their servants... but i guess nothing better is to be expected from a faction that believes and serves a rotting emperor and sacrifizes thousands of special people each day...

seems as if i missed an installment... all too soon ended...for my taste mate...
you took all lose ends and tied them all together but the overall feeling of me now is a bit unsatisfied...the whole issue with the "rectangle" of love between vassily and his numerous interests is way to short and for now leaves me wanting...
the Lt. Troucescau issue is also a bit of a too short ending and is not showing some of the i think nneded aspects to deal with some matters brought up in the storyline... for instance if a commissar breaks a Lt.s nose in midcommand during a battle... there has to be a fitting aftermath...
lets make a deal ole chap...i redo my poste here if you redo yours^^....please... for the sake of the story and the joy and hurt of the charcters we all came to feel for and love...please?
please?
yet again please?

Once the surviving troops and veterans got the wounded patched up, they were sent to the surface, sworn to secrecy. “Now, since the present danger is over and we are able to all discuss what happened in that chamber, all I can say is don’t.” Mikhail said to the assembled party. Their questioning looks told him enough, “None of this ever happened; we went after the enemy in their HQ where they set traps and ambushes and we fought through them and slew them in the end at the cost of brave souls going to meet the Emperor.” He let that story sink in, “Am I clear on this?” he said with a gaze that could stop a tank in its’ treads. The Platoon and others, Vasily and his men included all said “Sir, yes sir!” Now they understood this was a matter for super classified discussion and not for others outside those that were there to talk about upon pain of death, or worse.
Vasily and the others having gotten the charges set as Mikhail also went back topside to smooth things over with the military. He was satisfied that the problem here was resolved, but worried there were other such places being used by the enemy. The satisfying sound of the explosion was less pleasing as he contemplated the need to go in and clean more such filthy places out made it less so to him. For now, they would have to be happy with the present results as they were.
Father Orlov and Kommissar Zvedvedov would see new troops come in with the veterans of the platoon elevated to sergeants to make sure they drilled properly. Of course they would have their watchful eyes on the political and spiritual health of the soldiers under them. The newly minted veterans would need to be careful to avoid certain discussions of this incident. She turned to the veterans., “Keep in mind what the Inspector General said, if I hear one word out of you about today, I will kill you myself!” she snapped.
Vasily and his men were re-united with pvt Hellier, sporting his new leg under the uniform, but he would always complain at how noisy it was to use (No one else heard this so they would make jokes about it.) “Pvt Traeger, If you like we will keep you on as a new “violator” if you like that idea.” Vasily said to him; Traeger, always one to have been looking for acceptance beamed and said, “I’m yours to command until you can find a better replacement!” Later, they all had a wake for Galier, many jokes and tales of him were passed around in his honor.
A week later, there was a ceremony for the valiant exploits in destroying a major enemy control node and allowing other forces to press the battle to the enemy. They all were given awards for their service of which they could not discuss. Medals were awarded, and these would be hung on the walls for vasily’s men and their ready room.
Sgt Vasily did spend some time with the acolyte Valentina, much to the Kommissar’s private consternation, and after wards he dated the nurse again, also to her dismay, but, she did keep in mind making her feelings on this felt were dangerous for morale of the company as well as the regiment. When he did go to finish the game of regicide with the Kommissar, she was able to finally have a chat with him about this. “So, I hear that you have been seeing the nurses, and that Valentina, acolyte of Mikhail’s.” she said calmly. Vasily moved his piece and took a knight, “I do tend to bide my time and enjoy what time away from battle I can Teona” he replied with her first name. “Of course I know a certain political officer who keeps spying on me when I go for these dates and I have kept quiet about it.” He said further. She moved and took his regess off the board and had his regent in check. “So, you know I make sure that you are not violating regulations then?” she replied. He stared in disbelief at the Regent in check and had to come up with a plan, one that would save him on and off the board. “Well, speaking of regulations, I wonder about the ones that make it a problem with the men if they discovered a relations that could be considered inappropriate.” He said, and he moved the regent to another square, and placed a castle tower to defend. “I think that if we can keep other secrets, what is one more, besides, it is my discretionary powers as a political officer to conduct whatever I feel necessary for morale of a state hero.” She moved and killed the castle tower with her own piece. He was out maneuvered! He sat back and smiled.
“So, what did you have in mind, now that you defeated me on the board and with the regulations?” he asked. She replied quietly, as she moved in and kissed him.
Mikhail and his retinue managed to find another assignment. They had news of other problems that needed his attentions, and the fact remained he had many other assets to exploit in his endeavors against the forces arrayed against the Emperor.
As for Lt. Troucescau, he was relieved of command in the field, Zvedvedov recommended his demotion to sergeant, and he was reassigned to Marshall Zhuikov's staff. There his career was mostly filing papers, getting the Lord Marshall's recaf, and taking notes for him. He would never rise above that last and final rank, his star extinguished.
The enemy, their forces and spells broken, left the war torn planet in retreat, the Khadrovian forces in pursuit, chasing them back into the quarantine zone, to be watched against and tracked if they showed themselves again.

In a recreation room that had trophies and photos hanging on the walls, plus a shrined, massive hammer...............
i really like that ending line...almost like a graphic novel...very imaginative in that way!
“Am I clear on this?” he said with a gaze that could stop a tank in its’ treads.
...
this part made me wonder if it could took your fancy to make a feature story of his history...the development of an inquisitor...that would be a nice story to tell...
his star extinguished
...again nice image you used here...^^ a double entendre and so rightfully used^^
i think the former Lt. Troucescau has nothing to speak against the path his live is leading now... in fact it could have been much more diresome and rightfully so...
the end is now much better and although a tad (just a tad^^) to fast it is still a very fitting end. all loose ends neatly tied up and also potential to visit certain charcters later on in terms of a maybe spinoff story *hint, hint, nudge, nudge*^^
also i like how the smart mouthed vassily got pretty niceley outmaneuvered by Zvedvedov (by the way in russian it should be written as Zvedvedova... as femals get the extra "a" to the names attached...it is a language thing)
i hope for both of them to be inteligent about it enough to know that this is a thing that cant be everlasting love...also the bit with:
“I think that if we can keep other secrets, what is one more, besides, it is my discretionary powers as a political officer to conduct whatever I feel necessary for morale of a state hero.”
sounds a bit like the understanding made by anakin skywalker and princess amidala...but only a bit^^
thanks for that grim dark happy ending^^

Glad that this hit the spot for the proverbial appetite, I may now wrap it all together and see about a submission for a short story to add for a BL anthology^^
I also plan on more stories of our dear friends and thanks for the reminder of the "a" to feminize the name. But she tends to use the male version to keep the men in line if you get my meaning!
Vasily now knows she is his equal in many ways.
I will ponder a back story for Mikhail. He is a special case.

that might actually work even in the real world!
Vasily now knows she is his equal in many ways.
...hur hur...i suppose he is rather sometimes equal with her... most of the times a commissar is the better of any other fighter...
I will ponder a back story for Mikhail. He is a special case.
ha! that is telling^^ of course he is a special case^^ he is and inquisitor...

Oh yeah, my friend with his Germanic painted army, His russ tanks are sand based color with Green and rust camo. Would use them in City fight, and Vasily and the lads took "sewer rats" as a way to sneak up on his tanks and shoot them in the back armor with the three meltas, Vasily was there to kill enemy soldiers who charged them and use the power sword on them! Each turn they were on the board, they killed a tank, he hated Vasily and the Violators so much! But he gave them a worthy marker, and made the Vodka stash for them.
