Here's a bit more detail on the Lychguard & Praetorians:
Lychguard: S5 T5 A2 3+ save. Warscythes (2h +2 str power weapon) or A +4 inv. shield and power weapon. Shield can bounce saved shots back at any enemy if they are within 6". 40pts each.
Praetorians: S5 T5 jump infantry. 3+ save. Have a 6" shot S5 AP2 Assault 1 power weapon staff or 2 rending swords and a 3+ inv. 40 pts each.
And a recap from my rumor thread with a little taste about what the sniper unit is like:
yakface wrote:Another new Elites choice is a sniper style unit that can Deep Strike into play normally or it can choose to immediately Deep Strike immediately after the opponent brings an enemy unit on from Reserves, and they have some nasty additional damage ability against one nominated unit...obviously we need more info to know how useful this will really be, but the concept of countering an opponent's Reserve deployment immediately sounds interesting at least.

Metal flayed ones for me I think.
The whole point of the original flayed ones was that they seemed like skeletons wrapped in bloody freshly carved skin. Not like really fat warriors with bandages and tubes (which are supposed to be skin and entrails? I'm not even certain-poor sculpting there)
I really don't see the horror or the grim visceral terror these things are meant to evoke in those models.

You have it backwards. Both Egypt and the Incas had a Necron look because both cultures worshipped the Necrons as their 'Space Gods'.

Or, it would, if I had any intention of buying them. Which I won't until GW does something about their ridiculous worldwide selling policies.

The leak could be legitimate.
Beasts of War could have gotten an early edition of White Dwarf which these images are obviously from.
Then they're trickling these images one-by-one in order to keep people oming to their site and checking them out (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Yeah, but in terms of quality, the Dark Eldar far surpassed these new Necrons. There are one or two nice items (the converted sickle skimmer with the massive gun, the doomsday ark, one or two of the lords, and the teleporting chaps), but I would say about slightly over half of the releases smack to me of poor design choices.
Some of that can be potentially rectified if they retcon well enough, but I find myself a little disappointed; the excellence of the DE release gave me high hopes for a similar quality of xenos release for the Necrons.
Ah well, ho-hum, mustn't complain I guess.

I guess this implies a confirmation for the rumour that said that GW would no longer release the new ranges in waves, but all in one month. Like they did with the Ogres. DE however had two big waves (november 2010 with Warriors, Wyches, Raiders... and the second one with Scourges, Hellions, the Venom, the Razorwing...) plus lesser releases between and after them (Haemis and Wracks, the beast creatures, Archon's retinue...). I would say that the total amount of new stuff is bigger for DE. And I agree with Ketara, the quality of the new DE range is higher. This one isn't bad at all to me though.

Not necessarily, I don't see any new Tomb Spyders or C'tan models, and the rumours were that they were going to get redone (if not in their models, then in their rules, which would imply a different model to me). However, it would make sense to put these particular models in the 2nd wave since old models will fill in for them for the moment.

The Wraiths (plastic or Finecast?!?)
Warriors w/added bitz

Rumored items we haven't seen yet include:

C'Tan slaves or whatever

The thing you're missing about Flayed Ones is that they kind of operate in 'stages'.
The first 'stage' is they pick off isolated outposts, leaving nothing but a bloody mess behind.
The second 'stage' is that they infiltrate into the enemy's lines wearing the flayed skins of their enemies to hide the glint of their metallic bodies.
The final 'stage' is that they reveal themselves, cutting a blood-soaked swathe through the enemy and wearing the bloody hides as an intimidation factor.
If I had to guess, those "corpses" attached to the Flayed Ones aren't corpses. Their victims could very well still be alive.

And personally I like this background a lot better. But I do think there was some indication in 3rd edition book that they used the skins for infiltration. I hope that's retconned, though, because it's dumb, and pyschopathic serial-killer robots are cooler and scarier than cunning robots who play dress-up with carcasses.

I bet necron fans are trilled with so many new minis!
Necron was always a bit lacking in diversity but unless codex screws up the balance I think from now on the Necrons will have as much variety as most of the other armies.
Me personally I dislike the models, I mean if they went along the lines of huge robotic insects like the FW stuff I would be pleased but this is more a fantasy tomb kings meets necrons.
I think some of the weapons have potential for nice convos for other armies.
Overall nice sneak peek ( I doubt this is not a controlled leak), lots of new kits for all necron fans and unfortunately the look is a kind of meh for me.

But looking at this direction it has me wondering how the fluff behind the army will be hammered out. Also more importantlywondering what else shall be getting the makeover and are GW sugesting the plastics are "safe" to buy just to shift them on...

As a theory, remember that Necrons aren't "robots" they're people... And presumably, before being Necron-ized they had two legs, two arms, etc. Presumably they can adapt to Destroyer bodies reasonably well (Maybe they acted in a role similar to cavalry in life) but adapting to being a more traditional vehicle might be a bit too much.

I don't know, but the BoW pictures all had small tidbits of info, and this one was about the Immortals and Flayed Ones:

Finally, All Necron armies need troops, but what about some new models to represent them?
Check out the Games Workshop's new Flayed Ones and Immortals...

Quick capsule review:
I got mixed feelings about vehicles. Especially Command Barge which reminds me of 70's SF movies and THAT approach to space-alien-tech...
New Immortals and Deathmarks are awesome... Lords look cheesy. Lychguard and their multi-part friends... Will need to see them in my own paint palette, but seem OK.
Now the cherry on top: the new Flayed Ones. Boy I'm happy I bought all metal blisters available in Warsaw few weeks ago Shops were already almost out of stock, but I managed to scavenge 10 metal Flayed Ones and, if you ask me, they look much better then those new grotesque abominations. Banish them all to Haemonculi Zoo! Hope I won't need more than those 10...

You're apparently using Wikipedia as a credible source of information, for starters...
His name is Matthew. Whether you shorten that to 'Matt' or 'Mat' comes down largely to personal preference. 'Matt' is more common, which is why most people default to it.

On a side note, some people actually think these models look nice, and since you are now in the negative about this thread, is this really constructive?
Only "allowing" positive comments isn't constructive either...
What I meant is that his negativity is not constructive.
You calling my opinion negative is not constructive... To me my opinion is positive... am I not allowed to joke on the new cron models like people joked on my beloved Draigo? (who does look like he's wearing his oh face... this had nothing to do with me wanting his helmet on BTW)
Again... whats with the flayed ones? its like they purposefully took a unit meant to cause fear and dread even among their own ranks and turned them into a cartoon from Rob Zombies nightmares?
To address what was said about the designer sympathy? then whats the excuse for the last models... the followed the similar formula to the orks... necron warrior=boyz sized, immortals=Nob sized, Lord=Boss sized... I can see them being made a little more elaborate, but for crying out loud... there is so much bling its gonna harder to distinguish now... its like flava flav got ahold of them and put them through some wacky flavanized device... that or the harlequins played a prank on the crons for the stuff the deciever pulled on the laughing god lol

Sorry if all ready said - but hasnt GWs policy of embargoing all info prior to a release backfired specatularly with BOW leak.
Whilst the GW website has posted stupid pictures of studio staff dressed as pirates for weeks on end - theres been no mention of necrons. No teasers - no building up of excitement/interest in this release - instead BOWs site has crashed out of the amount of traffic theyve had and GW have missed a great opportunity to drag people to their site and missed the marketing opportunity of more visitors!!!!!!
Pleases someone - you must check theses boards - sack the person who came up with this crazy strategy and employ someone who really knows how to market products!!!!
Bet thisll take the shine of the mistep that is Dreadful Fleet!

On the contrary, it makes the leak all the more omg newsworthy. Maybe they leaked it themselves?

Dont agree - BOW get all the credit/publicity and in the process GW look icompetent at keeping to their own policy whether or not they leaked it. Marketing 1-0-1 - control your own product - they cant!! Its like Apple leaking the iphone 4.5 to microsoft and let them make the announcement - doesnt make sense!

Yeah, wasn't the Ogre Kingdom stuff leaked about a week in advance of the official GW announcement? If things continue to follow this pattern the only reasonable conclusion is that GW is comfortable with and/or intentionally facilitating the leaks, as long as they adhere to that timeline.

First of all, the policy was never set forth explicitly by GW or publicly announced to their fanbase at large. The only people who are aware of it are those that pursue GW rumours and news online. Secondly, those same people are all capable of putting 2 and 2 together and realizing that GW are behind the leaks (assuming, as I said, that things continue to reflect this pattern).

GW wants sales not credit.
As I've said before I think that GW are rather more savvy than the Internet "experts" give them credit for. Who knows they could be a Market leader someday.

In all fairness, the Xenomorphs from the Alien series had tails and could be quite scary. Skeletal looking tails kind of like this, even, although much longer.

I think this is naive: to think that GW doesn't care at all about Marketing, and only wants sales. If so, why create a Facebook page, why have the little quirky things they do on the website? To drive you to the website. You know what happens if you're driven to the website? You may make a purchase. You may not, but the chance is there. If all of the traffic that had been going to Beasts of War today went to Games Workshop instead, someone might have seen Dreadfleet that hadn't seen it before. Someone might have read an article that really pushed them into starting that new Khorne Berzerker army. Whatever it is. Having another website leaking your information (intentional or not) is counter-intuitive marketing-wise. If you want the drive and you want the groundswell of newsworthy release, it is not going to detract from it if you release it yourself.
I think it's interesting to call them 'savvy' and then saying they're more interested in sales than in where the information comes from. That is not marketing. Even if they are trying 'viral' marketing - it would still go viral if they released it themselves.
It's backwards logic. If you go into a store and ask them about their new product, they're going to bend over backwards to tell you about it and hopefully, you'll leave with either one in hand, one ordered or with the intention of ordering. If you walk into a GW and ask them about the new Necron stuff, they'll stare at you with a blank face and say, "keep watching White Dwarf!"
That's not marketing.
