That sure sounds like a plan. I will start building a Drop pod soon then!

I'm about to finish 7 bases for my warders (they're finally done!).

A drop pod and some thunderhawk action will be presented on my blog this week

Cheers!

Yay! That blade is so well done and provides an excellent contrast to the main scheme. I am SO ready for that drop pod.

Alrighty! I was able to use my friend's home made light box to take a few glamour shots of the recently completed Librarian Dreadnought. Check it out.

A proper light box makes all the difference. I'll be using it again to take some updated pictures of my other completed models in the future as well.

Thanks for looking, and further updates will be coming soon I hope. Till then, take it easy for now.

Nice. Light box pics are looking brilliant.

Have you managed to use it in battle yet? I used my freshly painted Libby Dread last week and it smashed face against a tac squad, but then got immobilised heading for an objective (why must dreads suffer so much from immobilised results!?)

Red, the lightbox makes a huge difference (and its noticeable!) - I'd suggest tweaking it a little more to get rid of those shadows and balance out the flash

Thank ya kindly.

I actually did get to use it in battle versus a friend's Eldar over the weekend (Semi-small 1000 point game) and it got wiped off the map by a squad of Wraithguard using D-Cannons. Got 3 hits out of 5, I had popped smoke prior to this so took my 3 smoke saves (5+) and failed all three. He then rolled three 6's and did something like 18 hull points worth of damage to it in pen hits. Suffice to say, it went from undamaged, to bye Felicia in one shot. Yay Eldar!

Thanks!

I'll practice with the light box, was my first time using it and was using my cell phone to take the pictures. I'll see if I can get some better pictures with a proper camera once I can try it out. I do love how the pictures turned out though and look forward to getting more of my army photographed.

In other news, I've started working on getting my dreadnought drop pod together. It's going to take some TLC to get ready, but hopefully I can make it work. The great preparing has begun in earnest.

Photo-less update for me here.

I've made some progress, starting the arduous process of preparing my Dreadnought drop pod.

First, scrubbing this thing down with a sponge and dish soap in the bathroom sink. After about 30 minutes of scrubbing and washing, I set the component parts over on a towel to dry overnight.

While scrubbing, I observed several issues.

Firstly, all three uprights are a little warped, and twisted. Not a terrible degree, but it's going to take some real TLC to get these things straight. This, while an issue, is not a terrible one. I'll break out a hair dryer or get some water nice and hot to get the resin pliable enough to get these bits straightened out.

The second issue is slightly more intensive and may require some major work to correct. I bought the kit second hand from a buddy who had purchased it years ago, and it has been stored fairly well overall. Sadly, and I didn't notice this when I purchased it, the 'top' plate of the drop pod's base has chunks of resin that have been broken off where the door pegs would mount in, holding them to the base and making the hinge mechanism work so the doors open and close without separating from the model. I can likely fix these, with some pin work and green stuff, it'll just likely look a little off. Thankfully it's the base so I can try and mask it with some burned charring around the base of the model.

The next step for me is getting the vertical fins straight, then fixing the base so the doors will mount correctly and open/close without coming off completely.

Pictures will be coming soon. After I get everything prepped, I'll get some paint on it and start up the project.

Take it easy for now.

Believe it or not, the dreadnought drop pod is, by comparison, an absolute BREEZE to assemble.

I'll be honest, I'm sorely tempted to use nothing but FW dreadnought pods for my army. Were it not for the chipped/broken sections on the floor plate, this thing would already be assembled.

I have three regular drop pods already, and I may get another pair of dread pods for future use (Christmas/birthday presents, etc.) since they're so much easier to put together. If you have a dreadnought you want to drop in and have the spare money to purchase the FW dread pod, you really should.

In other news, Teban and I are still looking for someone to help us complete the final part of Dread Bowl, 2016. Anyone out there mind rolling some dice for us?

More updates to come. Take it easy for now.

They really are. It's two base pieces (top/floor of the pod and bottom/base of the pod) that glue together, the three vertical uprights that slot in fairly simply to the central 'engine' at the top and then said vertical pieces connect to the inside 'floor' section of the base. The doors have pegs that set into recesses on the top base plate, and are held in place with the bottom base plate. Assembly on this thing would literally take 10 minutes once prep is finished up. Long enough for the glue to set on the two sub assemblies, basically.

Like I said, I'll likely just build one of my three standard drop pods for the moment so my Tactical marines have a ride. I've also got to get two rhino chassis from a friend of mine (special project, more on that soon.) that I've paid for, but haven't picked up from him yet. They're going to be a special project.

More info to come. Take it easy for now.

Quick update!

The drop pod is currently, sadly, on hold for the moment. I am going to need some green stuff to really make it work like it's supposed to and I cannot for the life of me find it. I've searched every hobby & modelling box I have to no avail. More will be purchased later, but till then the dread pod has been placed on the back burner for other projects till I either find, or purchase, green stuff.

What I have begun work on are two more death company marines. Specifically to bring my squad to 7 models strong for my Death Company Killteam list. The first of these two models is a power sword & bolt pistol wielding specialist, the second will be a standard chainsword & bolt pistol model.

I've gone head & knocked out the base for the first model & started initial painting on the helmet, starting on the eye lenses an getting the base coat of black laid down on the model. The body (head/legs/torso) are all pre-assembled, being from a now re-purposed old assault marine model.

More updates to come with pictures soon. Thanks for following along, and take it easy for now.

I do eventually plan on having 10 Death Company models with jump packs, and another 5 man squad with bolters and chainswords sans jump packs as well for back field objective holding. Long term plans, etc.

I'm very curious to see what comes of this latest Traitor's Hate rumor that Blood Angels will be getting a campaign book, called Angel's Blade, that will have new formations and other interesting things, namely Death Company Relics. Color me intrigued...

Rumors are 9 new formations, 2 new detachments, Death Company relics, tactical objectives, wargear uprades and 3 new missions plus updates to both assault & devastator squads.

Hopefully they're some help to our behind the curve codex, for sure. Fingers crossed, anyway.

It's a good time to be a Blood Angel.

I'd recommend a command squad. Would love to see your take on one. I'm currently sourcing a Rhino chassis that, I hope, will be something special once I can get my hands on it. We'll see how quick I can make that happen.

Yes indeed, I've seen it & drooled over it quite thoroughly. I hope to get my hands on the deathwatch bits soon if I can, as I have a small deathwatch force already painted up. Might try and expand on it later once I get my Blood Angels closer to finished.

Agreed completely, EDC.

I'm hoping to have my hands on at least one, possibly two, Clouseau pattern rhino chassis in the near future. I've already paid for them, just waiting on my friend to get them to me.

for reference:

On of them is going to be painted as a standard rhino/razorback for general use. The other I;m debating using as a Death Company Rhino. It may also get standard red treatment though. Not sure as yet.

I'm also going to try and start working on a standard drop pod soon as well (plastic) to be able to get my Librarian Dread into the fray turn one instead of having to footslog to to the enemy.

Lots of projects on the horizon, including eventually starting work on my Scouts, as well as finishing up the remaining five tactical marines waiting in the wings. Zero time to paint lately is not helping matters either. *Sigh*

Ah well. I'll keep you guys posted on progress. Take it easy for now.

I do think I'll try and get some of the BA centric deathwatch stuff for bits from bits re-sellers at some point, depending.

I like the deathwatch stuff. I want to get more of it later, but at this point I have SO MUCH left to paint on my Blood Angels. Hopefully I can keep steady at it once life calms down a bit and I can get back into the swing of things.

Step one, getting this Death Company model knocked out, and then finish one more, and keep at the model backlog here. More tactical marines (5), a trio of drop pods, a pair of rhinos, a scout squad (5), and my next purchase, which will be another (death company) dreadnought which will typically be fielded as Cassor the Damned. After that, Assault Marines will be purchased, along with some Devastator Marines, and then afterward a Storm Raven, and a Skyshield Landing Pad. Eventually I'll get more tactical marines also. I hope to eventually run a 'demi-company' with a decent sized contingent of death company and support elements (storm raven, etc).

Safe to say, lots to do.

More updates to come. Take it easy for now.

Not at all!

it's pretty straight forward. Basecoat black. One thinned coat of Abaddon Black, solid drybrush of Dawnstone Grey, clean up any overly heavy grey brush strokes/messy spots with a few touch ups of black, then Nuln oil over all the black areas, leaving the edges of grey clear of any wash. Once that's finished, fine detail highlight Administratum Grey (old Fortress Grey) on any extreme high points/edges to taste (I don't do much of this personally, as I like my Death Company very dark and gritty compared and contrasted to the brightness of the rest of my army).

As I've said before, I really want to play up the duality of the Blood Angels. I want the 'regular' forces to be bright, vibrant, and vivid. Lots of red, gold, white, etc. By contrast, I want the Death Company to be the opposite of those who haven't fallen to the rage visually. I want them to be dark, gritty, and menacing. The white sections washed with a black wash versus a blue wash on the tactical and other non death company elements. Dark/dirty silver being the order of the day versus bright gold for decoration, etc.

I hope I've achieved that distinction between 'light' and 'dark' to try and showcase the duality of the Blood Angels, their nobility, their grace, as well as their viciousness, their rage.

Do post up pictures of your Deathwatch when you can man. I'd love to see them!

Take it easy and talk to y'all soon.

Mini update, no pictures yet sadly.

Work has progressed on the Death Company marine I'm in progress on slowly. I've gotten the metallic sections of the body and head finished, as well as the eye lenses. I'm about to do the grey dry brushing and final Nuln Oil wash over the body before attaching the mini to the finished base, then moving on to the arms, shoulder pads, and Jump Pack.

I hope to get some solid headway made this weekend and, in theory, have the mini mostly finished by this time next week so I can work on the 7th Death Company marine for the squad (Which will complete my Death Company killteam).

Hopefully in short order, I'll be able to move on to painting my Dante mini once stripped of old paint, and then maybe knock out some scout marines I've got waiting in the wings, giving me a much needed second troops choice for a basic CAD force.

More updates to come. In theory, the next one will have a picture or two to show off as well.

Take it easy.

I wish I could say my painting was perfection! Thank you for the vote of confidence though for sure War Kitten.

I've made progress and finished off the right arm & Power Sword + gotten it attached. I've also gotten the lefy arm + Bolt Pistol to around ~80 percent complete. All that's left to paint on it is the pistol's casing (red) and the sculpted Blood Angels icon on the outside of it (white) then final inking & clean up before attaching it. After that, I'll be moving on to the shoulder pads and jump pack to finish it off and start work on the next DC marine in the queue.

One that marine is finished, I'll have my DC kill team finished, and will be ready to work on some scouts or whatever else tickles my fancy (Drop Pod is likely the priority model, though the scouts are sorely needed too for a fieldable basic CAD.)

Hopefully I'll get this current marine wrapped up by the weekend. Fingers crossed, anyway.

More updates to come. Take it easy.

It's a custom model made to look more like a Land Raider, but still be an obvious rhino. I wanted them for my force since BA have unique rhinos, and I want to represent that both visually and with their rules.

Still need to go pick them up from my friend. Hoping I can this week, schedules allowing.

My friend has a third one that's painted up in Black Templar motif and it looks gorgeous. I hope I can make mine look as nice as his does.

They will likely be the only pair of rhinos I have for this army. I envision this as being a mostly drop pod/jump pack equipped force. I'll also have a Storm Raven mixed in, with a skyshield landing pad for 1st turn deployment, utilized for for anti air and anti armor duties. Vehicles in my force will be two to three drop pods, a pair of Dreads (Librarian & Death Co. Dread/Cassor), and the Storm Raven. The first Rhino will come in to play with the eventual Devastator Squad I hope to run. The second may become a non jump pack Death Company transport. We'll see on that end.

I hope I can make the model look good. Will certainly try my best. Take it easy.

Finally able to get an update in. I've finished off the last member of my Death Company killteam, the Power Sword wielding specialist.

Take a look:

I'll freely admit it's not my strongest work, but I'm now sufficiently tired of painting black.

I've got one more model to paint black however, a Dreadnought (Death Company Dread, Cassor the Damned), but won't be embarking on that project for a bit yet as I'll need to purchase a Blood Angels dreadnought at some point. Possibly around Christmas, we'll see.

Next update will likely be some scout marines that I'm very much overdue to get started on. After that, more tactical marines will likely be completed, or I'll begin work on a drop pod. We shall see.

My Death Co. Killteam has performed admirably the few times I've taken it out recently. It really boils down to how many wounds/saves I'm forced to make versus enemy shooting on the way in. I only have one boltgun for ranged offense outside 12" pistol shots so using terrain to mitigate shots coming in till I can leap in to charge range is a big deal.

The benefit is break tests don't matter at all, as every model is fearless, and the enemy has to kill every single model to a man. Granted, with just 6 models on the board that's not a hugely difficult process for a swarm force or lots of shooting, especially if the dice are hot, but if I can get stuck in and a few charges or multi-charges in, it does help tremendously. I have learned the hard way that spreading out too much causes this force to quickly have problems. Death Company marines are extremely effective but still can be overwhelmed if swarmed. Having two to three DC models hit a model or models generally produces a withering number of attacks (10 to 15). It's enough to generally kill even hard to stop stuff like Thunderwolves or Necron Wraiths.

I'm still figuring out how else to play/what else to try and add to it, but I'm enjoying the shenanigans so far.

More updates to come. Take it easy for now.

Thanks guys, appreciate the welcome back.

For the leather, I used a couple of thin layers of Zamesi Desert yellow to get good coverage over the base coat. After that I went in and coated the leather with two layers of old GW Flesh Wash color (sadly no longer produced) thinned just a little bit with some water. Once dry, I covered the leather liberally with a good coat of Seraphim Sepia wash to dull it down as the old flesh wash color leaves a glossy finish. Super simple and produces a wonderful leather look. I stumbled upon this technique while painting my imperial guard (Vostroyans) and use it as much as I can.

The boots were painted the same way, but I used a third layer of flesh wash before hitting them with the final Seraphim Sepia wash to darken the Brown down a bit more.

Hope that helps and I'll update again soon. Take it easy for now guys.

No Chaos yet, though I feel some Alpha Legion in the offing in the future, that'll be a post of a different color (literally and figuratively) after the first of the year, and when my Blood Angels are closer to completion.

Moving right along, we come to my first finished Scout Marine, a CCW/Bolt Pistol sergeant with his own handy-dandy meltabomb!

Take a look:

Before anyone says anything, I know I completely airballed on catching the mold line on top of the bolt pistol's scope. Derp!

I have, since taking the pictures, scraped it off and will be touching up the top of the scope in short order once I start the metallics on the next mini, which is now in progress. In an effort to speed up the squad, I'm going to be trying to batch paint these models two at a time, starting with the first two. Hopefully it won't take me too long to get four models painted up, but with my hectic schedule on top of the Holidays, it's going to be rough.

All that being said, the entire squad will have camo cloaks, which I'm modeling stored, rolled up on their backs. I need to source two more camo cloak bits to complete the squad, but hopefully some of my IG buddies (where the bit comes from) will help me out and toss me a couple. This squad is meant to be a super cheap infiltrating troop choice, just five guys with camo cloaks, and a melta bomb, who hopefully get to roll out and chop/blow up something fun before they get blown off the table. I'm enjoying painting the grey quite a bit, though hopefully it doesn't look too flat. I also have to say the Scion helmets fit pretty nicely with only a small bit of modification to the neck area. MUCH prefer the scouts with these helmets versus the current scout heads which look to me, in a word, terrible.

More updates to come, thank you guys for keeping the thread lively here while I've been absent. Take it easy for now and I'll catch y'all soon.

Yea, it's a radical departure for sure. I've always liked Alpha Legion's color scheme (blue and green being two of my favorite colors) but part of the turn off to them is just how, well, barren their fluff is. I get that they're known for being secretive, the whole misdirection thing I actually really like, but I kinda lament that it carries over so much into their fluff.

Still, with the advent of Killteam, it opens up a fun option for me to branch out into something different but not break the bank trying to get a full army assembled and painted. I've also got a Harlequin Killteam in the works as well, however I need to purchase a codex for them and don't have the funds to to so sadly. Maybe after Christmas.

Of the Chaos Legions, my two favorite are Thousand Sons and Alpha Legion. Loving the new Thousand Sons models, for sure, but I want something radically different, as my Blood Angels already have some Psychic presence, I think trying out the infiltrating/wetworks style play sounds more appealing personally. Though, I'm lost in the woods as far as list construction goes.

I'll cross those bridges when I reach them. First thing's first, finish off these scouts and then try to knock out a drop pod or two for my tactical marines and Dreadnought. Once those are finished, I'll assemble more tactical marines and also some assault marines as well I hope and try to get them painted up quickly.

Take it easy for now.

I may yet do that. I'm in the REEEEAAALLLY early planning stages at this point so we'll see.

My focus shall remain on my Blood Angels. I've got the itch to paint some Sanguiniary Guard, but before I do I've got to paint the remaining 4 scout models, Dante and Mephiston, then more tactical marines (5), a pair of drop pods, some assault marines (5), as well as a Death Company Dreadnought/Cassor the Damned once I get another BA Dreadnought (Any Christmas $$ will go toward this Purchase) and eventually more Death Company too. Not to mention any other vehicles and such I decide to get.

Suffice to say, LOTS left to do.

More to come later. Take it easy for now folks.

Guess who's back? Back again??

After a stupid long hiatus on painting, I finally found my groove, sat down, and painted a mini for a friend of mine (A space wolf mini, of all things!). The desire to have some new models finished for 8th edition is helping tremendously.

I then, reinvigorated, started working on the scouts that have long been languishing in a state of semi-completed-ness.

I've finally finished the second scout, and am pleased with the result. Three more are waiting in the wings to finish out this squad. So, without further ado, here's the fruits of my labors.

More regular updates will be forthcoming soon. Hopefully my schedule will allow for more painting to occur in the coming days, fingers crossed.

It's good to be back. Take it easy for now.

Yo EDC! Good to see you man.

To answer your question: The cloak roll is an Imperial Guard bit. You get them in most of the I.G. Tank kits floating around. There's ty[ically a large flatter rolled up tarp bit, and the smaller "bedroll" style i'm using here. They're the perfect size and shape to be folded up/stored Camo Cloaks. I've gotten my hands on 10 of them so I can kit out an entire scout squad with them should I chose to in the future, if I ever get more scouts in the future ( A distinct possibility, though the next squad will likely be sporting Shotguns as I think they look awesome.)

I also fully agree that the head swap does a lot for improving the look of the models. Scouts look good, save for the standard head, but this head swap makes them look immensely better. Glad I went with them.

Also: Glad to see you too War Kitten! You as well STG, rest assured I'm back and steady at it as I can be now,

And Adam, Yea I hadn't realized it had been 5 months. Man time flies when you're not paying attention!

War Kitten, I will mention there is a very very minor bit of work I do to 'convert' the heads over.

Firstly, I remove a little bit of filigree decoration at the back of the helmet. It's quite easy thankfully. Just a little shaving and light file work and it's ready to go. There is one or two heads with a small spike sticking up from the top/center of the helmet. I just snip this off and file it down.

I do a little extra filing at the bottom of the neck area where it glues into the torso to help the join be smoother, but that's entirely optional.

Beyond that, it's a pretty straightforward headswap.

Take it easy.

Well if it's any consolation the Scion kit comes with ~857 head options for the 5 models in the box, so you can use the helmeted heads and still have plenty left over for a box of 5 scouts.

I'm going to need to get my hands on a few more scion heads in the near future to flesh this squad out to 10 models eventually.

With the recent Blood Angels spoiler that was just released, I may be able to actually pick up some of the new Primarus Marines and have it not make my head-cannon go wonky. At least a squad of five, perhaps. We shall see.

I wish I could grab a starter but I only really want the Rulebook and one squad of 5 Primaris Marines for support of my Angels.

At present Mephiston may get attention sooner rather than later. Not sure. I have a lot of infantry squads I need to both finish and then start first, plus a handful of vehicles too (couple of drop pods and rhinos).

Man I want to get some Sanguinary Guard now too. They're two wounds each, and are still such amazingly pretty models. Have them joined by a Sanguinary High Priest and watch the fur fly.

Choices, choices. For now, I'll keep chipping away at these last three Scout marines.

Take it easy.

Regular assault marine, likely the squad's sergeant. Gonna finish these scouts though. Draining my will to paint.. ugh.

Still, making progress. Check it out:

Leather is pretty much finished. Have to touch up the red areas, and grey fatigues, do the metalics (gold chest wings and skull and gunmetal colors on the weapons, hoses and buckles) and then do all the ink work, and add final touchup on the base. After that, it's finish the helmet (eye gems, etc.) and get it attached. Then I'll officially be over halfway finished with the squad... 6 months later.

And for extra funsies, here's the current completed minis so far, sans the scouts in the back and drop pod which is basecoated but still in progress.

Looking at it, it's not a very big force yet . Still, all told I'm happy with it and how it looks. Soon enough I'll be back at attacking power armored marines and will be able to make more tangible progress painting small bits here and there piecemeal to work toward a finished model or two in more rapid succession.

Take it easy for now guys. Thanks for following along.

Thank ya for the kind words, EDC! This will eventually be my showcase army, so I hope I can make it look as nice as a I can and maybe one day have a full battle company painted to display quality. Stay tuned for that in the far, far distant future.

That being said, I have good news to report.

I've made more progress, and finished off the next scout marine finally. Take a look:

Three down, two to go. Will be starting up on the next Scout model soon, fingers crossed. I'll be very pleased to finally have these damned models finished. They've been fun, but are quite the pain in the backside to paint, especially having to source two extra bits for each model (Head, and the rolled up camo cloak) which took a lot of looking and trading to accomplish. Still, when I get them wrapped up I think they'll look good and be a nice little extra stabby element I can put on the tabletop.

More to come. Take it easy guys & thanks for looking.

And progress, slow and steady.

I've gotten the preliminary red and grey down on the last two models, attempting to paint them together at this point to try and save time (as much as I dislike painting multiple models at once). At this point, anything to help me slog through the last two models faster, the better.

Another step I accomplished tonight is completing the bases on both remaining scouts.

I realize this is rather mundane, but I've found starting from the 'ground up' is the best way for me to paint. I get a feel for how the model will be posed based on the bases I'm using, and painting piecemeal like I have been, it allows for really nice looking finished bases when I'm finished (at least, I think they're nice looking).

That said, I'm having to depart from that for these scouts as I've been using them for gaming in their semi-completed state lately, so having to be careful on the bases is especially important here so I don't muss the paint job on the base.

Next step will be the leather on both minis, which includes the boots, pouches, holsters, belts, etc.

After that, I'll paint the fatigues and stored camo cloaks, including shading the armor in this step, then perform cleanup on the armor before addressing the metallic areas (chest eagle, hoses and buckles) before finally painting the bolt pistol housings & highlighting them and then doing the lense/gem work. After that, I'll do any final touchups on the helmets and attach them to complete both of the last two scouts.

Here's where we sit:

And

As always, the Rusty Nickel Miniature bases are awesome to work with. Highly recommended.

Take it easy, and I'll see you guys soon with further progress!

Finally! I've finished off the scout squad!

It was a slog, these last two models were more than a little trying. I've gotta say I DO NOT enjoy painting scouts. They're great models, and I like them on the table top and their look for sure, but painting them is a stone cold son of a .

That said, here's the last two models, starting with the most recently finished 5th member of the squad:

This one came out the 'worst' of the five I think. I rushed it and got a little sloppy with it, but it matches up with the rest of the squad just fine and I'm happy with it. Last thing I'll do is get decals for the squad soon and get them added on.

The 4th squad member and second most recently completed:

Now, we move on to some assault marines and a Storm Raven!

More pictures to come soon, stay tuned. Take it easy for now guys.

Thanks guys for the ever frequent and always kind support and feedback!

I've taken last night and re-evaluated my next few projects, and lined out what I want to do over the next few weeks/months.

Priority is going to be put on getting my Storm Raven painted and tabletop ready. Along side that, I want to work on a 5 man assault squad, and the last half of my 10 man tactical squad (5 models, one flamer and 4x bolter marines. These three projects should square me away for a good bit, especially the Storm Raven.

After that, I've got a few special projects I want to work on. I have both Dante, and Mephiston that need to be repainted (Mephiston has had some general work done already but has been placed on the back burner.)

In addition, I'm going to be working on a Sanguinary Guard Ancient that I've got the bits for, as well as another fun side project I pieced together last night and got the bits settled for.

Captain Aedus Sendini, armed with an alternative weapons loadout: Thunder Hammer and Inferno Pistol!

Once again, I'll be using mostly Sanguinary Guard bits, (torso, legs, jump pack, head) but I'll be using the Death Company Thunder Hammer (held in both hands) along with a holstered pistol to represent the inferno pistol and more unique shoulder pads.

Really looking forward to getting started on these projects. Stay tuned for more info soon.

I currently find myself at an impasse. I don't know if I want to take the time to really detail paint the interior of the Storm Raven, or if I want to do a basic pass at it and leave it be, or if I want to just seal the thing up completely so the interior is not visible to truly expedite the painting process.

Leaning toward the middle option and do a basic pass. I want this thing on the table sooner rather than later. I've already gotten the twin assault cannon turret completely finished up (using an alternative assault cannon turret, from the front of a land raider, as I cannot stand the twin assault cannon turret that comes stock on it) and am now working on some of the fiddly bits (vector engines, light bits, before beginning the initial assembly process and starting to work on getting the base coat of red down on the model.

More to come soon in any event. Look forward to some pictures in short order.

I would honestly just skip on painting the interior. 99% of your opponents will never get to see the inside of your Storm Raven, so doing it would just be for you to look at when you're at home admiring your excellently painted minis.

I'd do a basic job on the interior just for the sake of it and to make it at least fit in with the exterior.

Would that be Sendini MK4 or Sendini MK3.5 if/when you build him up with the Thunder Hammer?

It'll be Sendini Mark IV. Similar bits, but just armed a little differently. If anyone deserves to have multiple variants for differing weapons, it should be the guy who is known as the 'Keeper of the Arsenal'.

His default wargear will be a relic blade and a hand flamer unless he knows he's about to be facing something a little larger than normal, at which point he switches over to a thunder hammer and inferno pistol before dropping into battle from on high.

Now to get cracking on this storm raven a little more before bed. Take it easy for now guys.

No pictures this update, but the next one will have something rest assured.

Progress is being made on ye ole storm raven. I have recently found that my big brush is, sadly, defunct, so I'm having to use smaller brushes to do large work. I'll be stopping at my LGS to pick up a big brush to replace the aged one I've just trashed last night.

I'm doing a lot of masking tape work, getting things spraypainted and doing batches of the model with that in preparation for a hand painted layer of paint, then doing detail work.

I'm going to fully paint/finish the Hull first, as that's the largest, most complex, and biggest portion of the model and will take the longest to get everything buttoned up. Then the tail section will follow once that's all finished, then each wing to finish things up.

More updates to follow. Once the hull is completely assembled, I'll post a picture of it here for folks to see.

Take it easy.

I use Army Painter brand Dragon Red spray paint to get a solid base coat down on the model over the bare plastic. Once that's dry, I go in with one to two (usually just one) hand painted coat of slightly thinned Mephiston Red spray. That's how I achieve the shade of Red on my minis across the board here.

It's reasonably fast to get a good final over the majority of the model so you can then shade it and then begin detail work.

I'm having to really focus on masking off parts of the model in preparation for spraying them various colors (Off white for the interior, red for the hull and and leadbelcher for the engines.

The good news is doing it in pieces like this is helps ensure I can really get good detail work done across the board and make sure the model is a true centerpiece for my force.

I'll be working on it more over the next several days, updates pending once I have the hull put together.

Take it easy.

Yea, it's turning in to quite a project. I wish I had an airbrush, but I'll make due. At the level I plan to paint it up to, I doubt I'll get a second one. The good news is I'll be able to tackle armor with it fairly effectively with it. A twin multimela, twin assault cannon, and two wing mounted stormstrike missile launchers should hopefully put good damage on target.

I can't wait to get it on the tabletop soon. Gotta get a little more work done on the interior, and then I can hopefully get started on the exterior fuselage of this beast.

Look forward to more updates soon. Take it easy for now.

So I have a brief news update to share with folks here. A pleasant and all together unexpected surprise arrived today in the mail.

A new in box Storm Raven, and Blood Angels dreadnought!

After recovering from the initial surprise and befuddlement, I checked the return address and found a good friend who formerly lived in the area and who moved away a few years ago was the sender. We stay in touch as he is often in the area here for work and see each other still semi regularly. I messaged him, thanking him for the items and asking after the arrival of the models. He explained he had purchased both in order to start a small Flesh Tearers army in the past, but had decided to forgo the project recently and forwarded me the two models he figured I could use. So, that said, I now have a Death Company Dreadnought and a second Storm Raven added to the painting queue!

I'm going to need more Mephiston Red...

Next update will have pictures I hope. Just wanted to share the good news on the model front.

Take it easy for now.

Thanks for the kind words, and following along also. I'm going to try and keep making steady, if not slow, progress if I can. Finally, a tangible update!

First, some good news, my FLGS's first ever terrain day went off swimmingly. I'm happy to say I organized it, and by the end of the day we had somewhere in the neighborhood of 25 new pieces of terrain constructed and/or basecoated black for near future use! Quite pleased with the progress for certain! I'll try and get pictures of the fun up for folks here later. For now, on to the real meat and potatoes of the update.

Progress of a sort I can actually share has been made on Ye Ole Storm Raven. I've just finished getting the red finished up over the entirety of the Raven's fuselage. I'll be moving on to ink work next.

Here's the already finished (alternative) Twin Assault Cannon top turret:

And last but not least the front 'head lamp' assemblies that are also both painted and installed (Painted them separately then installed them after basecoating the hull red)

Next step will be inking, and adding some decals, then I'll begin work on the nose weapon, and cockpit/pilot assembly. Once that's all finished and assembled, I'll move on to the side doors, and get them installed to have the fuselage fairly close to finished up.
Then, after the fuselage is ready, I'll get the tail section spray painted red, then detail painted and attached to the fuselage. The final steps will then be each wing, which will be assembled individually and attached once all completed.

It's a beast of a model, and I'm enjoying it as it's very different from painting infantry as I have been. I'm taking lessons learned on this one for the second storm raven when I get around to putting it together. I'm going to need to work on infantry like a fiend though once this one is finished, as I have a decided lack of bodies for 8th edition and very much need to correct this in short order.

That said, thanks for looking and following along you guys. See you next update, and take it easy.

Pinch away sir! The storm raven turret mount spot needs just a little shaving to make the turret fit correctly so you know (I was able to take my hobby knife and make small shaves around the inner rim and after a few passes it fit flawlessly). I'm going to need at least 3 more of those turrets for my other storm raven and a pair of eventual razorbacks I hope to be able to run. We shall see.

Thanks for the words of encouragement also Much obliged!

Small progress update for the evening before bed.

I'm working on small bits first, then completing general assembly as I go, with the cockpit and forward gun being the first orders of business, with the raised/retracted landing gear as well.

Here's where we sit. (with the golden Aquila just in front of the canopy now finished along with clean up work finished as well. I completed those steps after snapping pictures.). The canopy is not glued into place yet. My next step is going to be to paint the pilot and get it placed into the cockpit before I glue the cockpit canopy glass into place and then glue the canopy to the cockpit.

The forward gun and cockpit sub-assembly showing the finished forward twin multimelta. I'm enjoying how the lenses are coming out so far I'll mention.

Here are a couple of other angles.

Next step is getting the cockpit interior done and gluing the hatch down, so I can then move on to the ink and cleanup work on the fuselage and then get the tail attached. Once that's done I'll be down to the wings and we'll have a finished storm raven on our hands. Lots left to do, but steady as she goes for now. Thanks for looking everyone.

Take it easy.

And another small progress update for those following along here.

I've managed to get the cockpit finished as of tonight. I'm really pleased with it. Went with an Object Source Lighting effect, the pilot being lit from in front by his instrument panels. Simple, but effective, and nicely shows off the cockpit details without being distracting.

Tell me what you think, like it, hate it, paint over it? Would really like some outside feedback on this element of the model. I'm planning on doing the second Storm Raven in the same manner on the cockpit when I start it up in the future. That said, on to pictures!

Thanks for looking. Last part of the hull to be painted and attached are the pair of side doors on each side of the fuselage. I'm going to go ahead and paint them first, then detail paint the entire fuselage with metallic paint (vents, etc) then come in with the Nuln Oil in the recesses and hard angles before a final clean up to finish the fuselage off. Then it's on to the tail, wings, and top central vent intake. Lots of steps left to go, but progress is progress. More updates to come soon!

Take it easy.

Thank you for that EDC. I'm always a little hesitant to try OSL in this way as I'm afraid I'll mess it up or make it look sloppy.

It contrasts with the red of the exterior beautifully (woo opposite colors!). In hindsight I should have probably been a little less heavy handed with the brighter greens and done more with the darker greens, but I like the finished product, plus its all glued together now anyway.

I'm going to go ahead and work on both side doors, wrapping up the component parts of the Storm Raven Fuselage before I get started on detail painting the exterior. Once that's finished it'll be a quick job on the tail, then the wings.

Slow & steady wins the race.

Take it easy folks.

Mini update to document progress and also to show one of the side doors I'll be using finished and attached.

I've gone ahead and gotten all large sub assemblies finished, except for the wings/engines, and spray base coated everything either red, or Leadbelcher (engines, wingtip thrusters, wing missile launcher front and backs being Leadbelcher). Once that was finished I decided to go ahead and get started o the side doors and got one finished up. The second door is at about 45 to 50% completed and is identical to the one shown. Good progress, for sure. I was worried I'd run out of red spray at first, but thankfully had just enough to get everything a nice red basecoat.

That all said, here's the door and it mounted in place:

I'll be buttoning up the second door and getting it finished before going on a massive red panting spree to get the base coated sections red before moving on to detail work.

Thanks for looking, and take it easy for now.

Not on this one, my next one will likely have Hurricane Bolters, saving the points on them on this model, as its more of an anti armor build. Eventually I'll have a twin lascannon turret for it and this will be my primary anti-tank platform (2x Multimelta, 2x Lascannon, 2x wing missiles, Storm Strike I think they're called?).

The Second Storm Raven will be Nose mounted Cyclone Missile Launchers, Hurricane Bolters, and a Twin Assault Cannon, so I can put a lot of hits on target. I'm simply using the twin assault cannon here instead as I want this flyer to be able to deal with both anti armor and anti infantry equally well.

Thanks for the encouragement as always EDC. More updates to come soon.

Finally, another update. I got some good work in last night and made some solid headway on the Storm Raven, completing the tail and attaching it, as well as getting most all of the ink work done on the wings, engines, and top central vent intake.

Take a look:

(Sorry it's sideways. Formatting error)

Here are the wings in component form, showing the wing mounted missile launchers detail (targeting lense) and post ink work done. Still need to clean them up a bit, but that's the next step before assembling them. I'll also be painting the aquilas on the wing tips gold to match the one on the nose.

I plan on doing some real work on this model this weekend and get it finished in preparation for my first Konor campaign game Sunday. Hopefully I can get these wings finished up, put together & attached, then get the roof air intake buttoned up and attached to finish off the model. I'll still need to do a few decals and apply some light weathering, but that'll be closer to the end of assembly.

Thanks for looking & I'll see you guys next update! Take it easy.

I'm going to get the wing tip aquilas painted gold next, then get the heat scorching effect finished on the engines and after that's finished, I'll do final clean up work and I may apply some decals before assembling the wings and getting them attached. Then it's down to the top air scoop/intake behind the turret, and attaching it to finish up the model.

I've also gotten the Hurricane Bolters started (just clipped off the sprue, truthfully ) and will be prepping them for paint once I finish up the model proper.

I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, so hopefully I'll be wrapping this up soon.

With the exception of the top center vent located behind the twin assault cannon turret, which just needs a little more detail paint work, applying a couple of decals, and doing some light weathering, the Storm Raven is ready for the tabletop!

The wings aren't glued down, but are blue tacked in place for gaming till I can get the top vent finished, and glue everything into place. I've started the base last night, and gotten it mostly painted. Compared to the monster that the Storm Raven was, I hope this project goes a little faster.

That Storm Raven is looking awesome! I can't help but picture Astorath jumping off the canopy with his giant axe as a diorama though, don't know why but it was the first thought that popped into my head with that first front on shot of the flyer.

Dread base is looking good, did you add the ammo pouch and auspex yourself? I don't remember those being there on the old bases.

I did indeed add the pouches and auspex Adamski, along with a little mixed sand and ballast to the edges in a few places to just add some additional detail and tie the look in with the rest of the army's basing (along with using the same color pallet of course).

I hope I can do some cool army pictures in the near future. I didn't get a chance to play yesterday (Sunday) so I didn't unpack my minis to take pictures.

That said, I'm going to get this Death Co. Dread painted up as quickly as I can and begin to chip away at more infantry.

Speaking of Infantry, I'm going to be stripping & repainting my Dante soon too as a special bonus project soon I hope, along with my hammer wielding Captain as well.

Quick update here. I've finished the base for the death company dread and have been stymied on further progress on it, as it's been raining constantly here and I cannot spraypaint further.

So, with that said, I've opted to start another project I've been patiently waiting on while I await the weather to cooperate.

Firstly, here's the finished base:

Next, the other 'quick' project I've started. Been meaning to get this guy painted for a while, just had other more pressing items in front of me. I've made good progress so far, but have a lot left to do on it. Working on one section at a time till I get it all finished up.

Top work on the Storm Raven dude. Really snazzy. How did it perform in the game you played with it?

Dread base is looking good too. Really looking forward to seeing Mephiston finished, but as you say don't rush it.

Alrighty.

I've gotten a game in earlier this afternoon and after finishing it up, I snapped a full army photo to show the army progress.

Take a look-see:

Not the biggest army, or the best painted, but I like it and am proud of it.

I'll have more painting updates soon I hope. Take it easy for now and thanks for following along everyone.

A very awesome full army shot there Red, might not be the biggest but as long as you like it then that's all that counts. I also like it and I'm sure a few others on here, like War Kitten and Teban in particular, like it to.

Actually reminds me of a more powerful version of my own current force - we've got the Jump Packs, the Dread, The Jump HQ/Librarian, the Air Support(though I'm being very kind in calling my solitary Land Speeder Air Support), a 5 man Tac Squad but then you've got some Scouts and DC whereas I've got a full Bike Squad with Chaplain(usually always my Warlord). I love the similarities and can't wait to see more.

Thanks so much for the kudos as always Adamski. I hope to see more shots of your Ultras soon as well as an aside!

Update time! So I've spent a good portion of the evening painting up my first (ever) primaris Marine, an Intercessor Squad Sergeant for my Blood Angels.

I have to say, they're fun to paint up, but are quite detailed and a lot more involved than standard power armored marines. I'll be working on this squad pretty hard over the next few weeks to try and get them ready for the tabletop and add some much needed troops to my force.

That said, I've been painting this model piecemeal, starting with the base, then working my way to the left leg, then right leg/back torso, then front torso, assembling things as they're completely painted. This is my normal method for infantry now, I'll note.

Here's the photographs as each part/component is finished:

Base:

Left leg:

Right Leg:

Front Torso/fully assembled:

With any luck I'll have this one finished up by weeks end and can start on the second squad member. Fingers crossed I'll have the squad done by next month.

Thanks for looking and following along. Take it easy for now.

Addendum to the last update as I snapped this picture upon finishing the work yesterday and completing the final decal work.

Showing the 5th Battle Co. marking on the sergeant's shoulder. I'm so glad I only have to do this on one model per squad. It looks great but is tedious to say the least.

More updates to come. Take it easy.

Haha nobody wants to see any photos of my Ultras, they are way too old and badly painted. Most of the army is still the original models and paintjob from 14-15 years ago lol. Actually just realised that and it's seriously quite depressing

But back to you and yours, I do love those Resin Bases you picked up. Said it before and I'll say it again but they are very nicely done. The paintjob of the Primaris looks very decent and I really like the extra touches such as the ammo pouches. Also you cannot ever go wrong with 5th Company Colours and Markings, best company of them all but honestly I love that tear drop and shoulder pad, such a fantastic job you've done on it.

I managed to get the left arm mostly finished last night. Only have the decorative wing bit left to paint white and shade before attaching it to the mini, and moving on to the Helmet, then the right arm/bolt gun and backpack to finish off the model.

Take a look.

Maybe not the best lightning/energy arcing effect in the world, but I tried something new and am not unhappy with it. It'll pass muster, anyway.

I was asked to provide a few extra shots of the left shoulder detail:

Also, here's the starting point of Primaris Marine #2:

I'll get this base painted up quickly and move on to the legs/torso and shoulder assembly to get the main body finished and glued to the base. Once I'm at that stage, I'll move on to the arms, bolt gun, backpack and helmet.

Will be trying to knock this guy out in fairly short order, I've got three more to go after this one is finished. More updates to come soon. Take it easy for now.

"Future Projects" ??? Hmm sounds interesting. Also got a quick question about that Primaris - if you didn't have the Emperor's Children-esque Winged Shoulder Pad with the excellent white, would you have considered doing the sword wings in that white rather than the gold? Especially with the blood drop being right there in the middle as well, I think it would've been interesting to see. Unless you've already done it previously in the blog and I don't recall?

I did the same sword up with white wings on the hilt on my Company Champion previously. That said, yea, had I not had the wing bit to attach to the shoulder pad I likely would have done the hilt wings in white to help carry that color more into the miniature (I like having the color white featured in the army as much as I can, as opposed to the black/dark grey that is normally featured in the GW artwork for Blood Angels).

I'm going to have to do a bit more decal work on these next few Primaris models, with both shoulder pads sporting a decal and the right knee also having one on it. Decals are always super time consuming, so hopefully I can make them look as good as they do on the Sgt.

Take it easy for now.

So you did, I just went back and saw that on Pg. 7 as well as the Apothecary/Novitiate having the white wing on his sword on Pg. 4. My bad, I had obviously forgotten about it but maybe that's why I had the idea in my head for that Primaris. I'm not going to mind if you add more white to your army, you paint it so brilliantly. Also can't wait to see Mr Decals - Primaris #2.

Thank you so much for that. I'm trying to make sure each and every miniature is as close to display quality as I can achieve. Fingers crossed I'll be able to maintain the quality of the current work and carry it forward throughout the future minis I paint. My main thing above all else is consistency. I want a consistent shade of red, I want the bases to all be of a similar style and color palette, and a generally consistent theme across all of the models in the force. I think I've achieved that so far. Hoping to continue to get there.

Thanks for that! I'm only going to be running a single squad of Intercessors as auxiliary troops. I eventually may paint up five more to flesh the squad out to 10 models. I was very happy with the basic conversions I did with the sergeant and am looking forward to hopefully adding a little more flair to each of the other four squad members of IV (4th) squad in some way or another. I've already got an idea for one conversion but haven't decided if I'm going to actually execute the look yet or not. Will be toying with it during assembly shortly.

I appreciate the kind words and positive feedback everyone. More updates to be added in short order. Take it easy for now.

Finally an update. I managed to get the lion's share of work finished on the second member of 4th squad. I've still got to paint up the helmet, back pack, arms & boltgun, but steady progress has been made all the same. Take a look:

The head and arms are up next, along with the boltgun too obviously, and the backpack will round it out to finish up once all other component parts are painted and glued into place.

Steady progress, going to knock this one out as soon as I can and get cracking on the third squad member to maintain momentum.

I'll post another update once this model is finished. Take it easy for now and as always, thanks for looking.

Hey Adamski. Yes they have the squared off backpack peg which helps make sure the backpack is square/straight when mounted to the torso. I'm a fan to be sure. Thanks for the kind words also as always.

Pictureless update to share, next one will have a few pictures.

I've managed to finish off the helmet & get it attached, as well as the left (support) arm also. I'm currently working on the right arm and bolt rifle now, and then the backpack last to complete the mini.

In the home stretch so to speak for this one. I've also started prepping to paint the base for Intercessor #3 next once I get these last two parts painted & attached to Intercessor #2.

Steady progress, though slow, it's at least steady.

Whelp, another Primaris Marine is finished and ready for the tabletop, and the third squad member is about to be started up shortly. Before I get started, here he is, Squaddie #2.

These guys are a lot of fun to paint, but are very detailed, far more than standard power armor anyway. It's taking a little more time to hit all the details and get these guys up to match the standard marines I've painted up so far. Hopefully I'll be able to make some good headway this week and get this next intercessor buttoned up in short order. These are fun, if not detailed, models to work on and I'm enjoying them quite a lot. With any luck I'll have the squad finished in somewhat short order, I hope. We'll see what life has in store in the short term on that end.

More updates to come. Take it easy for now everyone, and thanks for looking.

I've been slacking with updates due to work, but finally made enough headway the last two days to warrant a quick update.

Intercessor #3 is almost finished, just lacking the back pack to be painted and attached. Here's the current progress:

Pretty pleased with him, though the assembly of the arms and gun gave me fits, the right arm join to the upper arm isn't seated securely, which bugs me I will confess, but you can't see there's an issue unless you look at the model from beneath, so I will just live with the wonky assembly and hope nobody notices it.

Next up, once this model is finished, I'm going to mix in a Death Company marine to help me finish off my recently started Escalation league list. Will be a single bolt pistol & chainsword armed jump pack Death Company model, so it should go fairly quickly I hope. Final update on the Intercessor shortly. Stay tuned!

Take it easy & thanks for following along folks.

Finally! Another update!

I've recently started up an am running an 8th edition escalation league at my FLGS (as well as gaining employment there as well, part time!) and this has cut into my painting time quite a bit. That said, I'm still making progress!

I took a short break from the Primaris marines and quickly painted up another Death Company marine over the last two weeks. Very pleased with the finished results!

Take a look:

I've also taken to editing my pictures a bit better now, so future updates will hopefully be more pleasant to look at thanks to cropping to show more model and less surroundings (Finally found an app I can use effectively to edit my photos prior to uploading them, thank goodness).

Thanks for looking, next up will likely be another Primaris marine (or two) and then a Company Veteran squad veteran sergeant model with a power axe and storm shield.

Another update soon to come. Take it easy for now folks.

-Red__Thirst-

Edit: Fixed the little expose plastic on the join between the torso and left army I didn't see till posting pictures. Whups!

So I just realized I have forgotten to upload pictures of my third finished Primaris Intercessor to my Blog here, so let me rectify that.

I'm currently in process on the 4th squad member now. Will post updates on it once I get the body finished and mounted to the base. For now, this is my most recently finished mini, finished just prior to the Death Company marine above I paused to paint up (Trying to mix in the black models with the red, as I really do not enjoy painting black I will freely admit, and genuinely look forward to painting red again after finishing a black model.).

Pictures!:

Very pleased with the squad so far. I'll take a group shot shortly once I finish the squad off completely (This one that's in progress and one more to follow). These intercessors are fun to paint, but I'm looking forward to going back to some standard power armor once again once I wrap them up. Going to be trying to work on the second half of my tactical squad along with a couple of vehicles, specifically a Razorback and a Death Company Dreadnought, along with a few more Death Company mixed in for good measure.

Take it easy for now and thanks for looking/following along.

We have progress! Primaris #4 is nearing completion soon and Primaris #5 (I call him Johnny) has been basecoated along with his base.

On to the pictures!

Pleased with the consistent look I'm getting with these guys. They'll tie in nicely with my existing tactical marines as an added troops choice.

Next up, we have the last marine to be started soon:

After these two models are buttoned up, I'll be starting work on another Company Veteran marine, along side a Razorback transport and a Death Company Dreadnought.

More to come soon. Thanks for looking as always, and take it easy for now.

Loving the work Red, as much as I do love the red and the Death Company dude I really like the extra touches and look of the addons like the ammo pouches, pistol holsters and those beautiful purple purity seals.

Can't wait to see #5.

Thank you kindly for that Adam! I'll mention these Primaris Intercessor marines are all from the Dark Imperium box set (traded some minis I had still on sprue to get them) and all of the pouches & belts as well as the pistol holsters are part of the mini. They look fantastic and I like having them on the models, as I try to include pouches and grenades on my standard marines.

I hope that I can make more headway on them shortly. I've got the base for #5 painted and now just need to get the legs & back assembly painted + attached to the base.

Thank you for that, STG, I've been exceedingly happy with my decals on this squad. To answer your question, I do use Microsol, but not Microset actually. My method is lay down a coat of 'Ard Coat gloss varnish, let that dry, apply the decal with water and then dab excess water away once the decal is where I want it. I then apply Microsol to help the decal adhere to the smooth/gloss surface and ensure I don't have any bubbles, as well as to help it conform to the surface without issue.

Once dry, I then go in and coat the entire area I covered with the 'Ard Coat with the new Lahmian Medium technical paint (Remarkable stuff, really) and let dry. It produces some amazingly nice results as you can see. I'm very happy with how they turned out.

I appreciate the kind words. Take it easy and I'll have more updates soon.

An update this way comes! I have finally gotten off my butt and painted something, which I'm happy to report was both fun, and a nice side project for me between painting on other infantry.

First, a parts list:

Legs, torso, head, jump pack & wings - Sanguinary Guard box
Purity seal on left shin & pistol holster on right thigh - Tactical Squad box
Hammer shaft + arms & right shoulder pad - Death Company box
Left shoulder pad - Baal Predator box
Hammer head & Iron Halo - Blood Angels Terminator Captain blister (Captain Karlain single miniature)

Now, with that out of the way, here's the finished product:

Spoiler:

I'm exceedingly happy with how he came out. More regular updates will be coming soon I hope. Will be starting up on one here shortly, as a matter of fact.

Can't believe it's been so long since I checked in on this, seems like I've missed quite a bit.

Not a fan of any Primaris but that squad of Intercessors look pretty beastly, you've done a really great job on them.

Love the charging Power Axe wielding Company Veteran - reminds me of a bloodthirsty Blood Claw desperate to engage with the enemy - the thirst or rage taking hold maybe?

That is a gorgeous Captain you've built there, seeing him in all his glory with the snazzy new lightbox is especially helpful at noticing a lot of extra details. Very surprised you didn't christen him in the blog for all the followers to know who he is.
