Same here. Black Templars are known for their hatred of heretics and their associates.

He's no heretic, he isn't yet aware of the heresy, though I'm sure him being a psyker will upset the Templars anyway

Of course we don't know how he'll deal with the revelations as they arise

I'd say go with what you're comfortable with. For lots of dialogue your structure can work well, though you may find a more narrative approach works if you want to create an environment specifically. Otherwise you may be disappointed if we interact and adapt it in a direction you don't wish

Thanks for the suggestion, but retreating is not his style, especially against a foe he considers inferior. He'll fight to the end, but I'll have him resurrect back in the core to go again, using the Miraculous survival ofc, to be fair.

I would imagine that any Imperial faction would be at least suspicious of your particular chapter if not downright hostile. Openly claiming your chapter is the descendants of a traitor legion will not get you brownie points with many.

Also, the idea is that the hounds of loken were formed from survivors of istvaan three who managed to arrive at terra, where they were tested, tested, and eventually found pure of chaos. So they got their own chapter.
A few hundrd years ago, some of them started to turn into chaos spawn, it became evident that some one had poisoned the geneseed, I'M LOOKING AT YOU ALPHA LEGION! and at the "current" time, their chapter master, solace has been fighting the affliction, but his condition worsens by the day.
All hounds know about the afflicted, but only solace' inner circle know about his own affliction.

I'm sure certain knights in grey will be more than happy to purge them all with holy flames.

Alright, Dred's Entourage now consists of 1 Lychguard, #307 from before, and two Praetorians armed with Rods of the Covenant. Those rods are short ranged guns that can penetrate terminator armour and double as melee weapons. They're also jump infantry.

Merric got shot, don't know if he's dead or not.. but the Lychguard just pulled him into the secret tunnel through the door he ran through before. The Praetorians covered them out.

Your choice here, shrouded lord. I won't godmode. Suffice it to say that Turbo-Penetrator rounds can smash through tank armour without problems, so if Merric does not wear a helmet, it is likely to at least wound him.

Yeah, but considering the shot was rushed -- a flamethrowing necron vargard was charging at him. We could say the shot wasn't 100% perfect and might have grazed his head.


But it's up to Shrouded. At the very least he's unconcious, considering Lychguard #307 dragged him away

Mind you, he took the shot before the vargard reached him. Gamewise Vindicares are BS8, and they are consistently portrayed as among the best marksmen in the galaxy.

It's pretty safe to assume that even being grazed by a hyper-velocity round will knock him silly. You can drag him.

True, but we also don't reallly know how large the hall is. Shrouded said before the drop was ten stories from the balcony to the floor, and we don't know how long the hall is and how far away the Vindicaire was.

There are many factors to consider, and in heated situations like that it's highly unlikely the shot would be perfect.

Merric could have moved a bit in the intervening distance, the Vindicaire could have moved slightly due to the imminent threat, electronmagnetic fields from the Necron tech could interfere with the bullet path.

It's all up to Shrouded really.

Whoa, facetanking a Turbo-Penetrator?

Merric is one tough basterd.

I'm going to go with weird necron power fields or electromagnetic fields or stasis fields etc. interfering with the bullet enough for Merric to face-tank it.

It is a solid shot, it's just that it is fired with enough speed to penetrate heavy tank plating.

In my mind I was looking at a way of building my team slowly, instead of just having four individuals ready to go, but the reality is Iv ended up battling a carnifex alone. I will be making more effort to involve myself in the storyline

Merric will probably be more concerned with the assassins almost certainly trying to finish the job of putting a bullet through his head.

Sorry guys, had to do it for three reasons.
1. it's only a few days until my fifteenth birthday and i'm'a goin' to the cinema to watch how to train your dragon two (shut up, I'm allowed to like httyd.)
2. just finished the dragonBorn questline in skyrim.

Thinking about the fourth member of my team being encountered soon, but can't decide where to go with them

I can't decide whether to add another abrasive element- a space wolf would be an idea, or a Techmarine or non marine

Thoughts?

feth space wolves, I hate them for what they did to the Thousand Sons!

Maybe, a Minotaur Terminator? All of your marines could despise him as an abrasive element.

They did it the exact same way the Vargard did, via the teleportation platform. Polymorphine is not enough to make the Callidus look like a massive Lychguard so they used holograms instead, and it was child's play for all of them to hide in it until the right moment when they split off.

As for Nathaniel,i see countless options,we could have him be overrun and slain right there (possibly brought back by the plague as an enemy),have the templars run into him,have him hack his way through or find help from someone else (that one is unlikely though,i mean,it's not like an Ultramarine Librarian would just pop out of the warp right infront of him ).
Prehaps our DM could manipulate the zombies attacking Nathaniel,that could be even more interesting!

Anyway,i've ranted enough,i really shouldn't type when i'm dead tired and talkative
