Hi to everyone, first of all, sorry for my English, it's not my native language
"Clarification: Even if many models are currently on Shapeways, Artisan Guild (me and my wife Francesca Musumeci) si looking for a manufacturer. Our miniatures could come in pewter, resin or plastic in the next weeks!"
During the last years i took part as sculptor in the most exciting projects, like the insanely successful Raging Heroes - The Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter, Slaughterball, Roots of Magic, and many other projects that are under copyright so i can't show you and a lot of personal project.
3D sculpt of Yoko
3D print of Yoko *I had the chance to sculpt most of Yoko miniature, normally all RH models are worked by the whole team.
3d print of Slaughterball Athletes, in collaboration with Francesca Musumeci (my wife, she sculpts too!). The blue guy was not sculpted by me.
I'm just a digital sculptor, Zbrush is my software, i do everything there, except for pencil concepts. I'm not a molding expert and, even if i have a 3d printer in my home, i can't print miniatures, as they requiere super expensive 3d printers that can make supersmall details. So, the only thing i can do it's sculpt. I do that everyday even if i'm not working, i always try to improve myself using new techniques and styles.
Video of me sculpting Jynx, for Raging Heroes. Check the video description for more informations http://youtu.be/eqQgnKN9_rs
Now, i have just rebooted my Shapeways shop eliminating every miniature i made in past: looking at them after 4-5 years it's very strange, it's nice to see the improvement but i want to give my best. For who don't know about it, Shapeways is a website where you can sell and buy 3d prints. They are a 3d printing service that offer a very good material for miniatures for a low price. Everyone in Shapeways can be the artist, you can design a 3d model, upload it there and sell it, no needs to own a 3d printer. If there are 3d sculpted out there, don't exitate to ask me for more information about it. Shapeways analyze the model and tell you if it works. It also tell you the price based on material, weight/size of the model and printing time. This means that even the artist pay for his model. Luckly, the artist can add a small amount to Shapeways price, so you can actually earn 2-3 dollars for each miniature sold. That's what I'm doing with it
Every artist can select one or more material for each model on Shapeways. I choose Frosted Ultra Detail. It's simply the best, and the only one that can print small models like miniature with awesome details. A single miniature printed in this material could cost from 12 to 25 dollars, it really depends on the material amount needed. The team of Shapeways keeps themselves very near to the costumer and the artist during the printing process, they send email with details and everything. If something go wrong, like a model fail during the print they refund you and the artist have to fix the model (like thicken one part that's too delicate). Shapeways keep you updated and bring you in contact with the artist, so it's a really nice place to make, buy and sell models.
Right now i work with Raging Heroes, i sculpt during the weekends for my personal projects and from time to time i also accept commissions. I have many models to work on and little time, i will not do money with Shapeways (2-3 dollars per model is not really a lot) but i really want people to have my models. I love them, i would paint them if I could, I would play with them if i had the time and i really enjoy to draw and sculpt new miniatures.
That's my shop on Shapeweys: http://www.shapeways.com/shops/tarum Take a look at it if you have the time, there's just one set of miniature right now, but I update it any time i finish a model.
Gargoyle Miniatures, 35mm from ground to the horns (the standing one) available on Shapeways! Check my shop for more details and does not exitate to ask me if you have questions
Wood Troll! 55mm from ground to the eyes. I recorded myself during the sculp, take a look at the video if you wish.
Dwarf Ranger update! The 5 are 25-26mm once assembled and you can really create a lot of different poses with them!
First miniature of The Artisan Guild Miniatures "Share-Campaign": the Female Dwarf Rangers (5 of them)! 50 Facebook Shares needed to unlock one of them, and they will gladly become 5 different multyparts units (like for the older dwarves we sculpted) if we reach enough sharings. The miniatures will be available on Shapeways!

It may be just me, but the pictures for the Gargoyle and Dwarf Ranger aren't working.

thanks for your comment Eric, i'm glad you like them. I checked using my phone and another pc and the images works for me... maybe they are too big and very slow to load? Do you still have this issue?
Many thanks for the feedback,
BrookM wrote: What was it like working for Raging Heroes? Was your sculpt revised a dozen times over, as we've been led to believe from the Kickstarter updates?
Hello, I'm still working with them with my wife and it's one of my best experience. They have a superb art direction and everything must be perfect. Most of the models have been revised more than dozens of time, and not because it was not good, but because they want to give the best for each model, even an artillery servant. To ensure this, revisions happens during the sculpt and even after weeks, to make sure that your eyes are not "fooled" by watching always the same model. Sculpting is not like 3d modeling for animation and they want to use the most traditional techniques even if using a pc. This means that everything is hand sculpted, models are not actors with bones like in videogame... so every tweak needs works. After many reviews models get printed and we make additional correction based on the prints. The art director always think for new solutions for characters that does not convince him 100%. I can ensure you that we are working really hard and really a lot, but in the end i'm happy when i see many of my models in the KS updates.
On my topic, i hope that you will find my personal sculpts nice and i hope to see many of my models painted I'm not here to open a Kickstarter, every model i will sculpt will be available istantly on my shapeways shop, feel free to check it Comments, critiques and feedbacks will be welcome, i will probably ask to vote wich miniatures you want to be sculpted before.
BrookM wrote: Thanks for the indepth reply, I hope I wasn't hounding you, I was merely curious if what we were told was true or not. Not sure if you can answer this, due to the non-disclosure agreement, but did you also work on General Ilsa Wolfenstein?
To ensure that every miniature belongs to the same style-universe, most of the models are reviewed many times by different sculptors and always by the art director. I have worked at different versions of Ilsa, even the last one published in the last KS updates, but even my last version had been retouched in the end. So many times even if a sculptor make 90% of a model (that's not the case), it's always the product of the whole team.
In my main post i used Yoko because it have ben modeled 95% by me, with some really small retouches for making the model more easy to cast.
But concept was not made by me, and i received a lot of feedbacks and suggestion by the Art Director so Yoko would not be there without them.
Anyway, every model i will upload here (and sell on shapeways!) marked with "Andrea Tarabella - the sculptor den" are made 100% by me, so my concept, my stile and my sculpt

Hi Shawn, i hope that you like my new models on Shapeways. I noticed that most of the issue with the previous prints were the details not deep enough in the 3d model. Many software tends to highlight details of the model with particular Shaders so you see more deep details in the renders than in the prints. I fixed this problem sculpting manually deeper details . Hope that things are going good for you!
As for everyone, critiques are welcome, I would like to see my models painted by most people possible and i need feedbacks to make this true.
Hello there, I found an hour to sculpt the first pose for my series of 3 Dwarven Rangers. Every one of them will be a multypart model as this one, so you could actually swap parts between them. Please open the images in a new tabs to see them at full size. This miniature is already available on Shapeways for who's interested, here the link: http://www.shapeways.com/model/2771430/dwarf-ranger-miniature-30mm-sc-1-5in-38mm-1.html Hope to see many of them painted.
Taarnak wrote:More good stuff!
Also, the images which weren't showing before seem to be fine now.
~Eric
Many thanks Eric, i think you will not be disappointed with the next Dwarven Rangers I will probably make one single "file" on Shapeways containing all the dwarves, it will be more cheap as Shapeways adds a +$ (i think 5-6$) for each "single" print.
Alpharius wrote:This thread is very interesting, and much appreciated!
Thanks for taking the time to sign up here and post all of this!
Your comment is much appreciated! I will make a post everytime my models get updated or everytime i make them available to buy on Shapeways. I'm not sure if it will be better to put all my images in my first post or not, i will see how it works once they become more
I definitely want these dwarves on my table. It's very interesting to try and pick out stylistic similarities when I see stuff posted by the same sculptor. It seems to be much easier for me when the scale is larger.
Taarnak wrote:I've never been an huge Dwarf fan, but I love the fact that yours have knees and necks. Another good looking mini.

Yes, when I design model just for myself and not for other costumers or companies, i normally use necks and knees, ahahah I really appreciate your comment!

Absolutely fantastic work!
As I said to Eric, when I sculpt for myself i can give my models 100% of my style. I definitely would like to see some of my models painted by you Right now the only way to have these dwarves on your table is via my Shapeways Shop, but, if you planned to buy all of them (the set should contain 3 dwarves), you could wait for the pack containing 3 of them.
Shapeways have lower price if models are printed all in one time, so it could be really cheaper.
Unlucky i have not planned to make cast or anything like that, that requiere space, knowledge and time that i do not posses right now.
BunkerBob wrote:I love these pieces of work, you are very talented. I also want to know just how expensive these 3d modeling printers are that work on this scale.
Thanks for your comment My 3d printer is a UP! pp3dp, the price is about 700$ I think, but I can just print big models because the resolution is low. Let's say that for achieve all the detail of my models they should be at least 15cm ore more....
Last time i searched for a really cool 3d printer for miniature i found price higher than 17'000. As that were new printers, i would not be surprised if now the price is halved after a year or so, but still it would be too much for me.
Right now I'm happy with shapeways Frosted Ultra detail, prices are not high for a miniature as you can see from my shop. I'm waiting to sculpt the next dwarf before ordering them, so I can print all of them in a single time and paying just one shipping.
These are all the informations about Frosted Detail and Frosted Ultra Detail material from Shapeways (resolution, prices, quality etc), i use the ultra (right column) on my shop:
https://www.shapeways.com/materials/frosted-detail-plastic
So, thanks for some feedbacks i decided to shrink down the Dwarves from 28-30mm (top of the head) to 26mm! This should make them a little bit cheaper on Shapeways due to the material amount and also make them more compatible with other games. What do you think about this?
In the meantime, my low-resolution ( :( ) 3d printer is printing the first two dwarves at a big size. They would not rapresent the final quality of the product by Shapeways but it will be nice for me to have them on my desk, at least i can play with them during rendering time or export for 3d print!
I had some fun swapping parts between my first two Dwarf Rangers! It's amazing how this work well, i managed to make a "Bruce Lee poses" using the arm that should hold the gun! I'm really happy with it, i will do some photos on the big 3d printed big figures too! My only problem is that i have not decided how to glue them. I still have 16 hours of 3d printing to think about it.
migooo wrote: I really like these. keep up the fantastic work
I will continue sculpting when I'm not working. Weekend is just begun, so I will probably publish the third Dwarf Ranger tomorrow and the cheaper set containing all of them.
I have just updated my shop, all the models now match perfectly the 28mm scale, and they should work nicely with 30mm scale too. With all my models 2mm smaller Shapeways lowered the price!
Link to my Shop: http://www.shapeways.com/shops/tarum To avoid big models in my shop, you can change the filters on the left column by clicking "Miniatures for Wargames and RPG). Thanks!
The Gargoyles went from 20.99$ to 18.99$!
The set of 3 Gargoyles from 59.99$ to 49.99$! (that's great, as i had to order one lol)
The multypart Dwarves went from 19.99$ to 16.99$, and that's great too as I imagine that the set of 3 dwarves will be even cheaper and i want to order it too.
Now, as well explained on each model page on shapeways, the Dwarves are 26mm to the top of their head. Gargoyles (they are bigger than humans in my design) are 35mm, and the one in the rune stone is even bigger.
I've never used Shapeways and so I'm curious to see what kind of quality they can produce.
But your figures look great. I'm also not a fan of Dwarves but I think I would have to say that I'm a fan of these. What other kinds of figures/races do you have planned for the future?

Greywulf, thanks for you comment, I really appreciated it!
About your question, well, I have planned every creature that comes from a Role Playing Game that i wrote in these last years. Unlucky the document is in Italian, so it's a bit useless to publish it now.
My role playing universe have some new and classical things. In the beginning there were not elves for example, but i tought that it was better for a lot of peoples.
The concepts I have ready are:
The Orcs: Not the usual big headed ones, more like Elder Scrolls orcs, both males and females. They are like ancent humans, greenish and a bit more muscular ones but smart and well-proportioned.
The Alfar: Sons of Humans and Arverians (satyrs), they tend to be more "evil-wild" compared to the classical elves. Most of them are slavers (capturing orcs and dwarves for hard works) and so the miniatures will resemble this feature.
Humans: Generic humans and mor norsk like. My wife is working at some Amazon-Berserker girls for this purpose right now Ummatha: large humanoids (more than 2,50 meters talls) with hard and grey skins. A lot of moss on them, expecialli as beards. They have rocky parts around the body, tribal society with really tribal outifts and huge totem-tiki stone weapons with big faces carved on them.
Monster: this is not a race, but i will add one or two Trolls (similiar to D&D ones but with more belly and super high hairs!), Goblins, Kobolds (dog-headed like in old D&D editions) and many others. Gargoyles are already published on shapeways
there are other plans and several miniatures for each races, but both me and my wife work fulldays for Raging Heroes, so we just sculpt our models during weekend, and sometime i find some hours here and there around the weeks for minor tweaks, rendering or export the models.
Of course some weekends we need to turn off the PC...
Well, I am definitely looking forward to seeing some Orks from you.
I am really tired of the comedy Orks and Goblins from GW and their imitators. I like the ones from the Elder Scrolls, the Lord of the Rings movies, and the "Orks" from Scale 75. The ones that I am working on designing are more like these.
Jehan-reznor wrote:I like the Ax gun neat idea. Would like to see more SF stuff.
Do you mean Science Fiction? Unlucky I'm working fulltime for Sci-Fi right now so to mantain sanity i prefer to go fantasy in my freetime. There will be a chance for me to sculpt some sci-fi models by myself too, in the meantime i suggest you to check Raging Heroes, i sculpted a lot of model with them for the last kickstarter and even the other models are superb
Alpharius wrote:I love the old school AD&D trolls!

Me too, honestly, i got in love with these kind of trolls in Baldur's Gate II, I was 10-11 years old i think. Torgal was trying to eat my poor dwarves and all my companions as well!
I would not make an exact copy of them, there are already miniatures of them and i prefer to make something a little bit more personal.
Some years ago i did a fast concept, but it lack equipment and details (for equipment i mean wild decorations on his body that will be fun to paint, like bones, tools etc).
Here's my concept
In my signature you will find someting else inside my blod... kobolds, goblins,... but these concepts are olds, and not designed for miniatures, just to draw down the idea

We are on the same boat about orcs. I loved orcs in Elder Scrolls game since Morrowind. Warcraft have a mix of warhammer and proportioned orcs like Elder Scrolls, but still too cartoonish for me. These concepts were designed for my orcs miniatures. Someone could have already seen hese pictures because originally i did them for a different project. For some reasons the project did not continued, but, as the design is mine 100% i really want to make them.
There is also a small unit of Orcs Thieves in my mind. I really want to make this guys with a nice hood and dark outfits.
I really would like to thanks everyone is supporting me in this topic, this give me the strenght to continue this project.
I'm going to order the three dwarves once the third is in my shop so I can show you the quality of Frosted Ultra Detail material from Shapeways, when used properly
Dwarf Rangers - complete set is now on my Shapeways Shop!
As I just managed to export the file for Shapeways, the third and last Dwarf Ranger is now available on my Shop The three dwarves are multypart miniatures for the 28-30mm scale games so each one will be tall about 25-26mm once assembled. All the body parts can be swapped between them thanks to the balljoints, there are no limits of posing in this way.
In my Shapeways Shop you can buy the three dwarves separately, or save some money with the set of three dwarves! Don't miss them My Shop (you can browse here all my miniatures and sets): https://www.shapeways.com/shops/tarum
Thanks to everyone who purchased the model! I'm so happy about it and i really can't wait to see them painted!
In the meantime, I have created the Facebook Page for these miniatures. Like and share it if you want to receive weekly updates with more photos, new miniatures available and much more http://www.facebook.com/ArtisanGuildMiniatures
Miniatures are already available on the shop!
Thanks to everyone who's supporting this project with feedbacks and critiques.
Tomorrow I will place my order at Shapeways so I should have some nice photos of the models in some days My wife just finished her first Berserker woman and she's awesome!!!
thanks for the kind words We ordered everything plus some metal pendants from Shapeways, this will longer a bit our shipping, we should have everything for 15 November.
I'will lunch soon a poll for the next models!
I think it is important to also post this in regards to Tarum and his talented work!. These are painted up miniatures of Tarums past work we commissioned him for our first miniatures and now finally having them painted up fully by the very talented Dwartist: http://dwartist.blogspot.ca/ we would like too share both of their most talented work!.
We received Frosted Ultra Details model from Shapeways some days ago and I'm super happy with them!
In hands the models looks super detailed, but we are not very good photographer unluky!
We tried to make some photos but it's not easy, we will try again during the sunlight.
The Frosted Ultra Detail material from Shapeways is really detailed, but as it's trasparent is hard to make nice pictures with it.
We made a fast black primer coat on top of it but we realized that take pictures of black miniatures is super hard, and pointing the light to it create this strange rough effect.
If you have some suggestion please let us know
Thanks for the suggestions, anyway for the moment I'm just able to do these pictures with black paint :(.
The models come from Shapeways not assembled, clean, without supports.
You can buy them here:

I just returned to working as a sculptor for miniatures after nearly 30 years (things happened).
I did work as an architectural sculptor, making fancy pieces for houses and furniture for about 12 years, from 2001 until just the last summer.... But my boss changed business plans, and it put me out of a job (he now just mixes and matches pre-sculpted parts in a software package - basically everything I and the other sculptors did for him over 15 years, putting us all out of work).
But he did give us all full licenses to a bunch of expensive software.
I got a Mudbox License (I lost the coin toss for ZBrush).
I has a post on the forum with some goblins/Orcs I am doing
I have a very different style from you, which is more purist, and less stylistic, but in would say you are probably MUCH better than am I.
It would be nice if you could take a look at the Goblins I am working on to give me your critique of the work so far.

Have you seen my WIP Orcs (currently calling them "Goblins" as that is what the miniatures they are modeled after are called)?
They are intended to be modeled after the work of Tom Meier, and are closer to the LotR Orcs... And they are definitely not the GW comic styled Orcs.
Shown are only three In Progress models out of a total of 20 (40 eventually) that I am doing.
Only, like the OP... I cannot work on them full time.
Also, I have a very different style and workflow than the OP, you will need to be familiar with Tom Meier's work to get an idea of what they will be like when finished.
Thanks all for the nice comments I did some other shots on the black painted miniatures from Shapeways (with brush, not spry). The color is pretty thick, covering some details, but that's surely better of a colored version by me... I'm so unskilled at painting miniatures ...
So you can see the other two multypart dwarves (they can be mixed togheter as they have balljoints) and some gargoyle shots.
For the moment I'm really busy with my main job at RH, so there will be not new miniatures to expand my personal line in the next few weeks. I'll update any time I have some new work in progress or finished models.
Cheers!
Alpharius wrote: They look great - and they look even better together!
I'd love to see a game based on/featuring your miniatures!
I'm testing my roleplaying game right now. It's a rulebook that I'm writing from years now, the only probelm is that I wrote it in Italian. I will translate it (a friend of mine from England will do that), but I prefer to do that once everything is ready Thanks for your comment!
I'm expanding the 3 Ranger set with two more dwarves, they will be available in both versions: all togheter in a single pack and everyone as a single model!
Tom Meier did an exact duplicate of the old AD&D troll for Ral Partha in the early 1990's when Ral Partha finally got the license for the AD&D miniature line.
They did exact duplicates of most of the Monster Manual monsters.
Those dwarves are second to none. I especially like the gun-axes. The sketches of the orks look promising too. Look forward to seeing more of your excellent work!

Thanks, that's very nice to hear! They will be available on Shapeways soon.
I'm trying to financing my role playing game and (hopefully) the casts using Shapeways. Right now I have no way to cast them and I'm pretty happy with Shapeways Frosted Ultra Detail Material.

50 Facebook Shares needed to unlock one of them, and they will gladly become 5 different multyparts units (like for the older dwarves we sculpted) if we reach enough sharings.

Don't forget to pay a visit to my wife shapeways's shop too: http://www.shapeways.com/shops/fra She's have not published new models in the last weeks, but with our first child on the way she deserves all the rest needed during the last weekends!
You sculpt EVIL eyes in your minis (evil to paint).
As far as painting eyes goes, I find nothing harder than painting an eye in which the sculptor has tried to sculpt iris or pupil details.
The easiest eyes to paint are simple, plain spheres.
Yes, the eye is not a sphere, as the cornea/lens sticks out from the front of the actual eye (it is like a bump on a sphere).
But the cornea is clear, and is what produces the large specular highlights on the iris/pupil. That is easier to paint than it is to try to 'realistically' model or sculpt the eye as a lopsided sphere.
Tarum wrote: I could have the chance to cast the miniatures in pewter, what do you guys think about it?
Yes, please! The shapeways prices are too much for me, but metal would be cheaper, and even better quality. If you could negotiate an ongoing metal casting contract, you have the beginnings of a fantastic miniature range here.
I decided to respond to requests to upload a video of digital sculpting. In the video I deal with the Wood Troll, part 1. In the next part I will pose the models and give him some equipment. Do not forget to follow out Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/ArtisanGuildMiniatures Thanks!

Luckly I had some hours on this weekend to continue the Wood Troll. He's not ready to be completely shown, right now I just ended to pose his body and so there are a lot of small details to fix here and there, and obviously to properly sculpt the weapon and details on the base. What do you think about it?
Also, don't miss the sculpting video i recorded when I was sculpting the first part of this model. The next video (posing) will be uploaded once i have some time and this guy is finished
As I said there's a chance that we casts the models in pewter, I will give you more information in a near future.
Do you guys prefer Pewter, Plastic or Resin miniatures?
Right now we could be able to cast my and Francesca's models in one of these 3 materials, it would be nice to hear your feedbacks!
Cheers

If you have the choice and it's not prohibitively expensive, I would hands down do them in plastic or resin over pewter. I have no idea of the ecenomical side of casting though, so I guess it's something you'll have to weight up.
The reason I would choose plastic or resin over pewter is that from my experience all metal models are far more prone to paint chipping / spalling, particualrly on raised areas, edges and extremeties such as outstretched arms or weapons. It didn't seem to matter what type of lacquer or varnish I put on the model, I could run my nail over it and it would scratch off. I believe it's an issue of the undercoat bonding in some way with plastic and resin, whereas it won't do so on metal.
Ordinarily I'd also advise plastic for ease in converting the figures. These isn't so much an issue with these models becasue they're very unique looking to begin with, and use proprietary parts, so I don't think you're going to get too many people wanting to chop them up.
I will keep this in mind thanks!
Everything is new for me in the casting-molding pipeline (and marketing), I'm trying to figure if my models are "sellable"
I have not news about casting right now, but I noticed I forgot to publish the finished Wood Troll. If everything goes well, we can cast it When I'll have some time I would probably make two alternative poses (with some other differences here and there). I'm not completely sure about the final size, we just want it to be HUGE! For who lost it, the making of (first part), directly from my zbrush: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RquFEeD0ZIk
Happy weekend to everyone!
What are you planning to do this one?
Here there are some 5 Dwarven Heavy Warriors under sculpts!
It's really a work in progress, weapon and shield are placeholder (they will be really different).
Hello! We have our first test print of the Wood Troll, what do you think about it? There are some little printing errors here and there, but the next time it will be better
and fully assembled:
He is cutted in different parts to accomplish casting and printing: currently from the belt to the base is one single part, another one for the upper body with half mace, one part is the mace head, right armo from the elbow and left hand. I decided to cut the teeth because i would not change the design to suit the mold. Every part have a cube-joint to be easly assembled
I would love to see (and buy) a multipose set of these for building a whole unit.
thanks! I hope to find some time soon to update the unit. Right now we are almost done with our biggest project: our first son Gino will be "out" in some hours ! (not sure how to explain it in english!)
BeAfraid wrote: What are you printing him with, again (Printer, resolution)???
Also, roughly what is the printing costing, if that is acceptable to ask?

Right now, I'm not sure about that, there are a lot of options but right now I should wait a bit and evaluate everything.
Hello there! We finally started to sculpt during the weekend, so our project is going to be updated every week! This time we sculpted the heavy dwarves, they will be 5 28-30mm models full swappable, We are still organizing for production, but we will keep you updated.
Finally the first Dwarf Warrior (of 5) sculpt is finished, even if we have not found a way to product these guys, we are still expanding our range of models. Once we are ready, we will surely have the basical troopers for three armies: dwarves, and orcs and barbarians (womans barbarians actually!). Fantastic! There's no way I can buy these at the shapeway price but if you get them cast.. wow.. yeah, I'll be on top of that.
Aside from the dwarves, I like the Gargoyles too. Is there any possible chance you could do a unit of those that is more batlike (bat faces and fur instead of stone)? Anyway, thanks for sharing, very very cool!

Yes, after the dwarves, orcs and (girls)barbarians, I would have a chance to do that, as it would be a simple modification.
Now, I have just realized that the first dwarf is left-handed, wich is not a problem, but it will when all 5 of them will be out: they need to be swappable as they cam with separated arms, legs, head etc. I have corrected the sculpt and also the image, plus, there's a new guy here. Note that they are "normal" infantry, not heroes or commanders. Cheers!
EDIT: I noticed that the helmet used in the sculpt was the older version, so it has been updated (still it's a different helmet from dwarf warrior 1).
Hello!
Here the sketch for the upcoming Delelok Skjaldmær units, they will be 5 swappable models with balljoints.
In RotVar! universe, Deleloks is a race of man, and as all the others man races they cames from the ancent dwarves. The Deleloks are the human population that resemble more the dwarves, and they are closely related to the real vikings.
Sorry for my English, it's not my language Francesca, my wife, wil take care about the Skjaldmær units during some weekends, even if now with our son ( he have 1 month and half!) it's pretty hard to find time to sculpt Follow us on http://www.facebook.com/ArtisanGuildMiniatures for updates on this unit and the others!
So here there's a test using the same model (Dwarf Warrior 2) but assembling it differently. This can achieved by you too, once this model will be casted and producted.
As I wrote, you will really have 100% freedom assembling this, mixing the warriors with the rangers (and with the next coming dwarves). The Giant Woar (wolf-board) raider will also be swappable with these pieces, so you can place your mixed dwarf over it.
For the next armies, such Delelok (barbarians, with many girls there like the shieldmaidens), Orcs, Duum-Lok (deepth-flame dwarves) it will be the same.
(about the alternate gargoyles/bat-people) Fantastic! I was hoping it would be easy since they are very bat-like already. I have subscribed to this thread and will keep my eyes open.
Artistically, I can't think of any dwarves I've seen that I liked better. GW and AoW have some nice ones but yours feel stout without being fat or overly stocky and the design of the armor has a lot of great detail for rank and file troops. Great work!

Thanks!!!
I have attached two image about the first dwarf ranger. It's not the final print, and it has not be cleaned.
Hi!
Here the Captain of the Dwarven Warriors, the Captain. As any other Captain, he will have the option to be a normal infantry, so he comes with a normal shield. Every Dwarf Warrior will come with the Axe option too, if you want to have some mixed units or you don't like hammers.

I noticed that the whole topic is a bit confusing as before this started like a Shapeways project, and now we just would like to cast and produce (normally) these miniatures in resin, plastic or metal. Right now we are still planning everything and sculpt the models before actually launch the project, but the feedbacks from the community would be great in this "sculpting-phase".
I will probably end up with a completely new topic if possible, sorry for the confusion about this one
