So I was just wondering dakka, who are you? I'll start, I'm a seventeen (turn 18 on Christmas eve) year old high school senior. I work at McDonalds. I have a lovely girlfriend. I love sharks and guns and am going to NAU for college. So what about you guys and gals?
As for me, I'm 27, married with a 5-year old, work hard making Black & Mild cigars, and I'm pretty boring otherwise. Love good beer, fighting, guns, and miniatures.
I'm Will. Married (8 years) - no kids because I can't have them and the adoption agencies don't see me as a "good candidate" due to my views on religion (they are all run by church agencies) and 46. Been a gamer for about 30 years. I've also done a lot of other things in those 30 years.
*crossfit, eh?*
Around here, crossfit is like veganism. Don't worry about asking - if they do it, THEY'LL TELL YOU, REPEATEDLY.
Im 26 years old, have 3 tornado's of destruction, married for five years.
working for the only zinc smelter in the US. (process control leader)
Just trying to have fun while life is worth it.
Avatar 720 wrote: I'm a city boy--born and raised in South Detroit--who enjoys taking locationally-vague locomotive rides during the late evening.
This made me smile.
I'm 35, married, with 1 child. I briefly taught Mathematics, then burned out. Now I'm working on a kickstarter project so I too can miss deadlines on your dimes.
I am Andreas, 37, I have been in this hobby a while and what I know for sure is that I am the slowest painter in the world
Beside that, I build the best truck engines in the world (and for a whole lot of other applications). I compete in shooting and I spend all my other free time watching movies or going to the gym.
I'm 41, married with an 11 month old daughter, did 15 years in the RAF as an Airframe Fitter, worked offshore looking for oil on survey boats for a couple of years, now back on the tools in Saudi Arabia living the expat life, and have been for the last 5 years.
I've been wargaming for about 30 years, do a bit of outdoor stuff here and there and a few martial arts (when I have time these days)
I've also just started a Mechanical Engineering degree course.
I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths led.
Alternatively, I could be a 16 year old who is capable of having a conversation entirely out of quotes, and will be studying Performing Arts, Music and Psychology, who just happens to be called Will Smith. I am Legend.
I'm a 26 years old Software Engineer who only started to live life a couple years ago. After a very frustrating career in another company, I've switched jobs and I'm slowly trying to be happy. Currently studying Japanese so one day I'll be able to translate the doujins I've always loved so much .
No spawns of evil yet, nor do I have any interest in such
I've just turned 30, divorced but got a lovely girlfriend, I was in science research but went mad (partly due to reasons I divorced) and later decided it really wasn't really cracked up to what I thought it would be. I ended up working in a school as head science technician. Enjoyed that so much I decided to go into teaching so I'm now a trainee chemistry teacher who has just finished their first placement.
Morning all, I'm Drew. A 34 year old Senior Care Worker/Nurse (when they are short staffed). I've been into miniature gaming for around 24 years and according to my wife of 8 years, I have never grown up. Taking a Care Management degree at the moment so I wont have to spend my entire adult life cleaning up sick and various other noxious substances!
I specialize in Palliative Care and that has rewards all of itself, though it can be a little sad at Times.
No kids, but we do have an unhinged Yorkie called Kobe.
18 years here, finishing the high school this year, into warhammer 40k for about 2 years now.
I also love the rock and metal music, and going into rock clubs.... Broke up with GF after i got drunk in one of said clubs and kissed with some girl i met there (girlfriends friends knocked me off ) The stupidity was strong with that one, but life goes on, and at least i have learned something from that incident
I'm Luke, 33 and work for the Government making plans.
I live in the countryside where it's nice and quiet. That is until I get hammered tonight anyway.

What does that involve, sounds interesting
I'm 28 and surf dakka for a job. I occassionly do stuff that involves water safety and drive a van around.
I've done none of what you guys have done, and do/ done what you guys probably don't/ won't do. My interests vary quite a bit.
I'm Brad. I'm a 30 year old sack of meat and bodily fluids. I work as QA for a major news company. In my spare time I make things. I brew beer. I play D&D. I am not my khakis.
I'm 30 and been married 7 years with two rug rats that I just adore. I did work my magic in a deli until recently I hooked myself in a cool new job that I'm looking forward to being the "it" career. I've been table top gaming since I was 13ish
I'm 41, a Plumbing Contractor, been gaming for 28 yrs. married for 10 to the most wonderful wife EVER!
I have an attic full of gaming things, including a gaming table, paint desk, assembly station with terrain lining the walls. Currently in the midst of a switch to Infinity/Firestorm Armada over GW stuff.
I also have about 200 gallons of saltwater tanks filled with an assortment of swimming and crawling things. A relaxing hobby that I have found a love for over gaming.

I teach high school science, after an aborted research career. Currently in an international school, really like my job. Moved here because of my girlfriend, really like her too.
Play a lot of D'n'D, but not much in the way of miniatures games any more. Starting to brew my own beer, thinking about writing adventures as a sideline.
22yrs old, male, American-New Zealander hybrid, forged in the labs of Carrollton, TX. (AKA Born in Texas, didn't live there long however, about 6 months) Lived most of my life in either MN or Brisbane Australia, moved around a lot. Currently in NZ, planning on staying, just finished a history degree.
I am going through the process of entering the NZ army as an officer, I've cleared medical and security checks, I've got my first assessment in Feb.
I’m 40, and have been gaming for most of it. Been married for 14 years (getting hitched in 2000 makes it easy to remember) one son, who is 8. While I have worked tech support for a small liberal arts college, and a spot of retail, I currently work as a private chef, chief groundskeeper, and executive manager of a live-in child-care facility. aka a stay-at-home dad. I have seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.

God-Emperor damn it, I get teary eyed just reading that ... such a beautiful scene.
I'm 30 and I have a MSc. in Economics and Statistics. I've lived and worked in five different countries on three continents. I quit my €100 000 investment consulting job and dumped the perfect girlfriend to pursue my dream. I enjoy guns, drinking heavily, and fine English women.
25, been a nerd for about 12 years..i make chemicals that'll eat your skin off that eventually go into your healthcare products... i like guns, hunting, metal music, and american muscle(cars/trucks)
A 25 year old man, married for 1 year (dated for almost 9 years prior) with a 6 month old Husky/Shepherd/Malamute mix. Been gaming for almost 5 years. The government pays me to fly helicopters in the best of the three services, though I have to fly them off the back of a boat. My wife serves in the oldest service, but I still outrank her...for now anyways.
I enjoy snowboarding, video games, playing bass/listening to loud music, and obviously wargaming. I prefer beer over liquor and wine, I'm terrified of heights, and I absolutely despise people who walk slowly in groups that take up the sidewalk/hallway.
I have two awsome rugrats at 8yo and 11yo... fun times.
I'm getting remarried to an exquisite woman next fall.
College Graduate with MIS (Management in Information Systems)...
If had to give you a quick blurb of my skillset... I'm a "Jack-of-All-Trade" in the IT industry, currently working for a large regional Hospital System.
Currently on a Diablo3 kick and awaiting season 2 to start!

What is your dream exactly? Mine is to be a guy who brags on the internet, but I'm not sure I have what it takes.
I'm a 38 year old transport planner and married with two children which basically takes up all of my life now. Aside from toy soldiers, my other passion is running. You can really sort your head out with a good run.
31 year old male, engaged, no kids. I do database administration and design for an IT shop. I love/hate my job. I enjoy whiskey and cigars, though my drinking has nearly stopped after dropping a substantial amount of weight (went from fat to puffy). I've been a gamer since I can remember, and dove into tabletop when I was 15, and then wargaming when I was 27. Building and painting miniatures has become a creative outlet for me that doesn't involve staring at a screen.
I'm 28, married, 2 kids. I'm a hooker for the local club
Been gaming since 08, video gaming even longer than that.
Army for 10 years till they thought I was too broke to go on. Attempted to sell health insurance for a few months after that, now I'm in school to pursue my "dream job", of being a high school history teacher/ HS rugby coach.
Avatar 720 wrote: I'm a city boy--born and raised in South Detroit--who enjoys taking locationally-vague locomotive rides during the late evening.
OMG I'm just a small town girl, living in a lonely world, I too took a locationally vague locomotive ride during the late evening too!
But seriously, um...
Well I'm 26 now, a crazy femmy weirdo, doll collecting dude.
hoping to find a job where I actually somewhat want to get up in the morning for.
I am 18. I am a nature-science student in Gothenburg.
I play far too much WoW, the occasional Rogue Trader, I have a decent CSM army and a small Eldar one but I don't really play any longer. I also have experience with martial arts.
I am also a feminist, somewhat pacifistic, an activist for LGBT rights, and other things that tend to annoy this subforum.

No idea why Blood Elf sticks out on you......no idea why....not seeing it though but I got that itch you favor Horde
I'm fifteen, and last year I realised that people suck. I am hypocritical, arrogant, egotistical and manipulative. to most people I pretend to be a nice and funny guy, but that's only because I need the support that is offered by friends. in saying that, I am hated by nearly my entire year level.
I have a girlfriend, and i have now told you guys more about my real self than i have her.
I hate myself, but am too cowardly to do anymore but make an effort to change myself.
rescently I have taken to drawing, a hobby I abandoned a few years ago. I am not good at it, but not particularly bad at it.
I keep a journal hidden in my room.
If my friends read my journal they would hate me.
peace.
Recently turned 21, just about finishing up my Bachelor's Degree in English and History, worried about what I'll actually do when I get my degree and whether or not I should continue further into academia or just find a job as an underwriter.
Other than that I'm Christian, an avid Ork enthusiast/gamer, a pretty decent ping pong player and looking forward to Chinese New Year.

I thought you were improving yourself! I'm not sure changing from ponies to twighlight is a step in the right direction
I myself am an overly hairy (only on the body *sigh*) man ( i reckon i could beat armenians in a hairiness contest) who is of the age of 35ish, I now count my age by the numbers of hairs on my head . I work in a cool retail environment where I get to meet people from all walks of life. I am unmarried, never have been with thankfully no kids I have to pay child support for. I like long walks on the beach, romantic weekends and bushwalking. I prefer a NSSD with GSOH and also a TLG (twin lockup garage) , a house is a plus.

Sounds like me when I was 15, in time the hate will turn to apathy
I'm Matt, from Sweden, I like Kiwi-birds and Sloths. Also Stompas. I'm a young teenager, so I'm still a burden on society. I spend hours on DakkaDakka.

I woke up in a Soho doorway
A policeman knew my name
He said "You can go sleep at home tonight
If you can get up and walk away"
I staggered back to the underground
And the breeze blew back my hair
I remember throwin' punches around
And preachin' from my chair
On one hand, FINALLY! On the other, I'm almost dissapointed it took us three pages to get to this!
I'm 18, soon to be studying Military History as a Degree, a huge fan of almost anything sci-fi or fantasy, and am also a semi-prolific (but unpublished) poet and writer. I play guitar and dabble in keyboard, have a strong interest in Rock and Blues music and its history, and occasionally I actually get to play Warhammer!
Also, a lot of what's in this thread makes me want to:
As for who I am?
I am Alpharius.
I call BS on you being the actual Alpharius because no way in Hell will Alpharius be in MA.
OT Forgot to mention Married twice. Divorce twice. Third time the charm. Couple kids who are pissed they're getting a Nissan Sentra to drive instead of the Spider Eclipse, Jeep Yeti Wrangler, and/or 83 5.0 Mustang 'vert. Seriously contemplating the new Hellcat.....did i mention the Sentra is a '94.......
I'm a 42 year old professional socialite of minor English nobility. Living out a life of leisure on the remains of my family's wealth, my only goals are the pursuit of diversion, the publication of my memoirs and the up-keep of the few remaining family lands.
Seriously though, I don't share much public info online, but I will say that I'm an at-home father of two, with a wonderful spouse.
I'm Joey, 21, taking my 3rd year of Bsc Geography at Plymouth. I enjoy reading, driving (not at the same time), and I have a lovely girlfriend whom I met in Iceland. I've been able to travel the world thanks to the university, and I'm hoping I'll get to see a lot more in the near future.
I live in Northern Virginia, I'm in my thirties, I've married for seven years, and I have two daughters: ages five and three.
I'm a union steamfitter out of Local 602 in Washington, D.C. and I currently work at a data center in Ashburn, VA. I mainly paint stuff for other people and game very little. I like video games, astronomy, shooting, traveling, watching football and hockey, board games, and occasionally skateboarding (although it isn't as easy as it was when I in my teens).
I'm a person. When I was younger I wanted to be a historian but I never finished college. Now I cook things for people to make money, which is actually a lot of fun.
Ian, early 40s. Have lived around the middle of England, and worked in most of it.
I've visited most places around the UK, some of France, Cyprus, Malaysia and Oz.
2nd marriage, neared bankruptcy due to the first, and am far enough from it now to be happy enough with it.
Spent 6 years in education after school, with next to nothing to show for it.
Have worked in most support roles for IT, apart from application. Networks, Wifi, antivirus, firewalls, Microsoft servers, but mostly PCs. The previous job was for 14 years, surviving various redundancy sweeps.
Most importantly, I'm all for everyone getting enough, and get wound up when people take more than they should.
PREVED! I am Kirya, I am 15. I grew up in Sevastopol, Crimea, but have moved around quite a bit since then. I have lived in Berlin, Kent and Scotland and now I live in the Netherlands. As a result, I can speak 5 different languages, which is awesome. I go to school and deliver newspapers each morning, which gives me money to spend on my hobbies. I love sailing, mountainbiking, videogames and of course miniatures. I am also extremely fond of balloons and KV-tanks.
Who am I?
I'm a 30 year old dad of a lovely 4 year old daughter. I'm married to my wife of 5 years. I'm currently unemployed from a job as a machinist and in school to get a degree in manufacturing to further my career.
I haven't really been playing a lot of tabletop games lately and mostly just play hearthstone and do homework when I'm not playing with my daughter. Since I left my last job my back has been in the best shape it has been in over 7 years and I've been able to exercise again losing 10 lbs in the last 3 months.

20, studying Computer Engineering, planning to intern for Crane, a Navy Defense Tech firm this summer, designing boards for them. I might alternatively do some Three Phase Power analysis, or Power Factor Correction, who for, I don't know.
I'm a frat bro (I'm our athletic chair), l'm addicted to the gym, and I'm as of this last Tuesday single...ladies?
I'm 23, a genius by birth, and an idiot by association. I'm the fattest thin person you'll ever meet. I'll silently voice how I'm better than everyone else around me, rightfully so, whilst letting themselves be better.
I'm always happy, yet I moan constantly, though you could put that down to being British.
I don't have any hobbies as enjoying things is for fools. I do spend a lot of time gaming, both tabletop and otherwise.
Truly, all of you should bask in my glory, for when will you see such brilliance otherwise.
I'm a 22 year old painting student in her senior year of her undergrad. I've got a boyfriend who introduced me to wargaming. Prior I spent most of my time playing a boffer combat game called Amtgard, and wasting away my nights playing pathfinder until the wee hours of the morning.
My paintings for school are all figurative realism in oil, but I also try desperately to aquire skills in digital art. My current digital project is a women of 40k illustration series including so far SoB, Eldar, and Daemonettes.
I have green hair.
I work at a Pacsun in a mall and sell clothes to teenagers.
I fluctuate in and out of a Minecraft addiction every couple of months.

I'll have a go. I am 40's single dad with a 5 year old little girl. Contractor with the US military and living in Thailand at the moment. A gemologist, weapons collector, and war games hobbyist . I Don't have time to play games anymore.
However, my daughter and I have invented a new game. We call it War toys. I'm starting to get her involved in war games hehehehe. The War toys is we each set up our toys (my little pony and smurfs action figure, blah blah blah) across the table and we each have a turn of getting a small toy car (you roll back and release and it goes) to knock them. the winner is last toys standing. We also each get 15 jinga wood block to build our defense. I actually like this game and it encourage both of us to come up with jinga construction of defense. The game is challenging in the deploying and building the jinga. She is getting good. I let her win sometime. But sometime she really beat me because of my "fail" Jinga defense design. This game is actually very fun against other grown up. The first time my brother build his Jinga fort... was silly. You don't build it high.. you build it low to slow the car down... any way....

Hahaha I actually found that my first week on dakka. They don't take people their first week in though, for understandable reasons. Luckily I've been on a low point with my minecraft addiction lately. I'm sure it will start back up in a few months, hopefully just in time to prove my worth to the whitelisting folks of the server
I will not divulge my true name, but the perceptive few may suss it out anyway.
I have been a tree nursery manager, a newspaper editor and a cashier. My most recent profession is attorney, where I dealt in child custody and divorce matters. That last job, like all jobs, is a 'mixed-bag'.
A little while ago, the opportunity to become a stay-at-home dad for my twin toddlers appeared and I said "Yes." I am grateful for the opportunity and for not chickening out.
My wife is great and I love her, but she is a boss and one should not trifle with her.
I have been in the wargaming hobby since 1993(?) but I am more serious about it now as I have some cash and am a grown-ass man.

Thailand is pretty much the Gemology capitol of the world. It's a great thing to get into if you have the spare cash. I started this myself about a year ago.
24 yo seconded, first year, nursing student living in Reading, hoping to go into oncology at the moment. Used to play rugby until my knees gave up at the ripe old age of 12. When I'm not at uni or doing bank work at the hospital as a HCA for extra cash, I play this strange game called war hammer, have done since 2000. I try to play guitar but fail, enjoy reading, tv and xbox. Ice hockey is one of the best sports out there and I want to go to Boston one day to watch the Bruins play.
Oh and I was born Friday 13th, unlucky for some, not me.
Well.... Name is Josiah, 32 going on 33 in April, work for the IRS(business not personal tax) out in Utah, divorced but have a wonderful girlfriend. Spend most of my free time in the local comic book shop or playing some sort of game, video or tabletop. Goal is to buy a house sometime next year and raise a family.
