So with the robot space marines (who really aren't robot space marines anymore but i alwys liked the name) due in January NOW is the time for your completely false and made up Necron rumors
1 - According to my inside source, Warriors will get a huge buff! I'm talking about 2+ saves, T5 and the ability to disrupt power weapons! Of course that also means a price hike, 44 points per model! Ouch! Leaked scan below!
Spoiler:
2 - The origins of the Necrons will finally be reviled, turns out they are the lost 2nd Legion send back in time. They will revile this and accept Guillman as their spiritual leige and paint themselves blue.
3 - New special rules to go wtih "I'll be back" (feel no pain):
"Hasta La Vista, Baby" (Gauss attacks)
"Your clothes, give them to me, now" (looting)
"Ice to meet you" (Furious chrage)
"If it bleeds, we can kill it" (rending)
"Let off some steam" (killing blow)
"Get to the chopper" (phase out)
"Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women" (hammer of wrath)
Mindshackle Scarabs now effect every model making a melee attack against the unit containing the model equipped with Mindshackle Scarabs. The leadership test is taken on the attacking models initiative, but before the attack takes place .
No no, not this super elite warrior thing! GW wants you to buy hordes and hordes of warriors
Necrons will go to 9 pt per model. But they will have an army wide 4+ resurrection and you can take an orb for army-wide rerolls of failed resurrection.
Austrian accent: 2 pts per model. Thick accent causes confusion when necrons are within 6 inchest of an enemy unit. Units within 6 inches must take a pinning test
A new unit shall be released. It will be called the T1000 I mean the Necron Tomblordkoptek. The Tomblordkoptek is an advanced being made out of pure living metal that is able to change into any shape, absorb all small arms fire and has weapons that can rip through Tactical Dreadnought Armor with contemptous ease. The Tomblordkoptek can also be built into the Harvestnightankh which is just like the Tomblordkoptek except that it has AP4 weapons and costs 30 points more. Oh, and it has like... uhh.. fear?
Special Rules:
Shape change Before the psychic phase you may nominate one infantry model to be the Tomblordkoptek. You may reveal who the Tomblordkoptek is whenever you want. Yes, even if the model in question is a pskyer and is casting psyker abilities. Uhh... this is because of... uhh... polarity... inertia... thermodynamics?
Feel No Pain (5+)
It will not die
Fleshbane
Ignores cover
Fearless
Shred
Hand Scythes:
Monomolecular quantum massless subatomic metals make up these weapons.
The monolith will be made into new kit that has 3 smaller monoliths inside the original..
when one is destroyed it is replaced with a smaller one and so forth...
Kinda like a russian nesting doll.
Each will have slightly diminishing stats.
and have to be bought desperately of course..
at 39.99 each
with the smallest finecaste....
We will see the advent of Edison Weapons, which steal the shooting profile of one weapon from the first enemy unit they fire at and file a patent for it's design.
31-Necrons will have a new objective energon cubes which work like pain tokens for the Dark Eldar.
32-Necrons will get a new monserous creature lord called Meganecron. Armed with a gauss howitzer (s10) on his arm, at the start of any turn he can be removed from the table and another necron can gain the attack instead. he may return in later turns.
Leaked concept art below.
Spoiler:
33-necrons will gain Preferred enemy-Taurox, especially the new Taurox special character Tauropimous Prime.
Spoiler:
34-However Meganecron must always be one guard lest one of his Night Scythes betray him!
The Necrons will now have a new list of relics called the "Pointless and uninspired wargear list". It will contain a bunch of sciency words, faux-Egyptian and morbid terminology.
Necrons Flayers will finally be usable again. Wraiths, on the other hand, will be nerfed so hard that Hasbro had to be paid royalties.
Necron Overlords will now be able to equip a variety of Tesseract labyrinths. There is the regular Tesseract Labyrinth, the great Tesseract Labyrinth, the Ultra Tesseract Labyrinth and the Master Tesseract Labyrinth. There may only be one Master Tesseract Labyrinth per army unless you cheat and say there are more.
We will learn about the new Necron Dynasties. These necron dynasties are in a much better mood, because they didn't have to get up early, and would like to be friends with the Imperium. If you play an army from any of the Well-Rested Dynasties, you can now ally easily with any Imperial Forces (except Sisters of Battle, because screw them). The book will include a new Detachment with a single required Necron HQ and any number of Armies of the Imperium slots
New Necron Realm of Battle Boards! Now, your Dynasty can really awaken. If you buy the new Necron Dynasty Realm of Battle Tiles, you can replace one ROB tile from the ROB board you are playing on during each Necron turn (you ARE playing on a ROB board, right?). The new ND ROB tiles each provide special benefits to the Necron player as they rise up from the sands (or whatever ROB tile they displace).
Incensed C'tan. This C'tan isn't just Transcendent, he's incandescent with rage. The Incensed C'Tan forces any enemy units faced with his Gaze of Malice to take a Leadership check on 3d6, using their Wounds (or Hull Point) attribute in place of leadership, or suffer that many wounds with no save (vehicles loose that number of hull points). The Angrier He Gets: for each successful hit on the Incensed C'tan, increase the radius of his Gaze of Malice by 6" and add one additional die to the Leadership check required. A positive benefit of the Incandescent C'tan is that Unbound Tournament rounds can now generally be completed in two turns.
43-New unit! The Necronmancer is a new troop choice who injects victims with nanites that turn them into cyberzombies!
He'll come in a plastic kit with 10 zombies, humans in ragged imperial uniforms with various cyber bitz growing out of them. The kit will even come with some ork, eldar, tau and tyrnaid heads and limbs to make xeno zombies.
51-Following the established trendline (2+ save in 2nd edition, 3+ in 3rd, 4+ in 5th) Necron Warriors will be T3 with a 5+ save. Reanimation protocols will become a 6++. Points however will remain the same.
Davor wrote: Resurrection Orb is a success on a 2+. Necron Overlords get to use the Resurrection Orb on a 2+ with all 1s being reroll able.
Cost 75 points and it's an Artifact.
It's called Court of Damnos and a Necron Tomb Citadel we can actually get that.
Though it's a lot more points.
A new piece of wargear will be made avalable to all other armies
Macbook 20 pts
The model carrying this relic can insted of shooting attempt to hack into the operating system of the opposing necron force
he rolls a d6 adding the game turn as a modifyer. On a 7+ all necron models stop functoning and count as destroyed.

1) Warlord causes fear
2) Warpflame Gargoyles on shooting attacks
3) 1 Resurrection Orb becomes rerollable each game
4) Mindshackle scarabs range increased 3 inches (aren't they close combat?)
5) Warlord has a 6 inch +1 leadership bubble
6) Warlord can reroll reserve roles for himself
I am surprised nobody has mentioned the supplement. Necron Suplement:The C'Tan.
You can field an all C'Tan force just like how you can field an all Imperial Knight force. Only Necrons can be allied in though is the only restriction.

I heard there's a Phaeron named Absentint that lets you have 255 Master Tesseract Labyrinths.

I just got the joke after 3 days of thinking about it.

So...you install Windows 98 as an OS?
Vista, actually.
It works because none of the Necrons are logged in with administrator accounts

Oh wait.
Sorry.
I forgot this is false rumors.
But your are right in the false rumour. You don't have too. That will be a "house rule" So in your false rumour you will have to rebase all your minis.

Wraiths will finally get "We'll be back!" special rule. But to ballance it out they'll also get the "No, we won't!" that makes them die even if they've passed the WBB roll. You still have to roll.
Torga_DW wrote: I think its an 'absent int' reference from programming, with 255 being the highest number possible range for a byte.
Absentint - absent integer - being a synonym for Missingno - Missing Number - the glitch monster that you can kill in the original Pokemon games to dupilicate any item to 255. Used to gain 'infinite' master balls.
It's confirmed that Mindshackle Scarabs will now work on a failed initiative test instead of a LD test. They will also be released as a separate model (akin to ammo runts). It's gona look like this:
koooaei wrote: It's confirmed that Mindshackle Scarabs will now work on a failed initiative test instead of a LD test. They will also be released as a separate model (akin to ammo runts). It's gona look like this:
Flayed Ones will regain their Terrifying Visage from 3rd
Monoliths will regain S9 on the Particle Whip as well as the ability of forcing units to move out of the way when it deep strikes onto them.
Necron overlords will be able to take any two items from the Cryptek wargear list.
Necron Destroyers will regain their S6 AP4 36" guns
Gauss will regain the ability to autowound on a 6
They will gain access to a gun that can teleport targeted units to any location that have lunar rocks, including off the tabletop. This will be an artifact that cannot be taken by HQ units.
They will get a new unit which will be test subjects for the Necrons attempts at reversing the biotransference. They will have access to special footwear that allows them to ignore fall based difficult and dangerous terrain tests. One of these test subjects can be upgraded to a slightly overweight female who has access to the aforementioned teleporter gun.
Will gain a HQ choice who was a female overlord whose consciousness somehow merged with her tombworld's master program. Unlike other overlords, she doesn't gain access to a royal court. Instead, she can take a cohort of however damn many you would like to take turret thingamajigs with twinlinked guns. She can only be taken if you bring an empty cake box with you to the game, promising your opponent that if he/she beats you, they can have the cake, which they really won't because the box will be empty.
Filling the cake box with neurotoxins is perfectly acceptable.
We are going to find out that the Necron fluff has been redone again. This time we are going to find out that EVERYONE is Necrons now. They have finally got their flesh. They are the Tau, Eldar, Humans or any army that has living flesh. They are not Chaos because they don't want their souls in the new flesh damned and don't want to become Orks because they don't like Plants vs Zombies. Some Dynasties have become so desperate for flesh they even can be Tyranids because it's natural living tissue. Races of the same faction don't even know that their Kin were once old Necrons.
There will be rules for them, that they can use any codex that is Tau, Eldar, Humans (not SM because they are genetically enhanced and not "pure" flesh.) They can also use the Tyranid codex as well. They can use all of them combined for a legal CAD just pick what ever unit you want.
Also there will be CLEAR and CONCISE rules written and there will NEVER EVER be any arguing on how a rule works.
Face Huggers - Initiative test or die. Leave model on board, make reanimation protocol check at end of Assault phase. For each successfull check, remove model and replace with a facehugger base. If you run out of Face hugger bases, or are unable to place them for some reason, the additional bases are lost.
1 Face Huggers base is included in each of the new $29.99 Cryptek Blisters
The Necron book will only be available in hardcover.
The cover will be manufactured from 3mm thick steel with a titanium coating and razor sharp edges. Each page will be a thin sheet of gold leaf, with the writing stamped on.
It will be limited to 2000 copies at £12,000 each, and they will forget to number them. A second (similarly priced) codex will be released three weeks later, superseding the just-released one immediately.
In the tradition of codex witch hunters and daemon hunters (3rd edition), the necron codex will contain a unit for their opponents to field: john connor. He will attach himself to one of the necron units and force constant leadership tests as he makes bad 80s quips and one-liners, while instructing them not to kill anyone. They will still be allowed to fight in melee, however (apparently that's different).
Davor wrote: We are going to find out that the Necron fluff has been redone again. This time we are going to find out that EVERYONE is Necrons now.
Nearly.
GW, on the the back of the coming Necron codex, wrote:The Necrons were created by the C'tan. They rebelled. They evolved. They look - and feel - human. Some are programmed to believe they are human. There are many copies. And they have a plan.
To continue the breakfast theme, Croissants will be used to transport Toasters (the new name for Necron Warriors).
New rules: All Along The Watchtowers: One of the enemy characters turns out to have been a Necron all along. Season Swerve: On turn 3 the game will suddenly shift in theme from military sci-fi to metaphysical fantasy. Characters will receive enigmatic visions (counts as Prescience) while dead pilots will return to the table as "Angels"... or will they? Box them: The player can choose to "Box" rebellious Necrons, returning them to their boxes for all eternity. Remove them from the game.

And Eldrad yelled, "I must fight the Necrons!" "No Eldrad", said the voice, you are the Necrons And Eldrad became a scarab.

-Flayed Ones are no longer unit choices. Instead, when an opponent's model is killed within 24" of a Necron with a Resurrection Orb roll a 4+ and it rises as a Flayed One.
-K-9 and the Tardis are Necron technology and are licensed troop choices, but a fee must be paid whenever you play them.
Following up on the Necron's mars raid, the new codex has a raid on Holy Terra itself (!!!)
The Necrons breach Terra's defences and land forces right in the Emperor's throne room!
After an epic battle taking 3 whole paragraphs of the codex, they fight their way through the Adeptus Custodus, take down the 2 warlord titans (!!) at the Eternity Gate and even zap the Zombified Corpse of Malakar the Sigilite!!
They march right up to Him on Earth, pop off their skull helmets, step off their stilt legs, open their chest cavities and it is finally reviled that...
Spoiler:
It was the squats all along!
Everyone has a good laugh and the Emperor promises to give them a new codex.
Necrons get a new "infiltrator" unit. Using vats of rapidly grown flesh to cover the endoskeleton bodies of the Necrons, the new unit will be able to deploy closer to the enemy, pretending to memebers of their own race.

In the Soul Drinkers Novel Hellforged, Flayed Ones pretty much did that (Oldcron Flayed Ones) except they skinned dead or dying soldiers on the battle field and then wore their skin and flesh and clothes. From there they feigned to be injured soldiers so that they were taken up and sent behind lines for medical treatment only to be dead on arrival. They were then tossed into what was effectively a makeshift morgue and once there were enough of them, well... all hell broke loose.

See, those are the necrons that I know and love. Not this prissy honor-bound space Egypt crap.

Yeah, and Monoliths were ridiculously scary, Destroyer Wing was at least a semi-competitive army, C'tan were death incarnate, we had legit Flayed Ones and those good old Pariahs.
Mind Shackle Scarabs are now an army wide rule. Anytime an enemy model assaults a Necron Model, vehicles included, the model must test for Mind Shackle Scarabs.

how...couldn't they have noticed it's a huge metal robot inside a dead man's skin.

*shrugs* I suppose they didn't complete skin them, leaving chunks of flesh in the right places to give them the appropriate look perhaps? And I'm not sure, but i think that back then, the Necrons weren't that much bigger than your average human, well, at least the warriors and flayed ones weren't.
Also, since this was during an ongoing battle at the system's last still populated fortress, the medics and doctors may have just quickly checked for a pulse and not finding one, moved on to the next soldier in hopes of getting as many in back into the fight.
There's also a scene in the beginning of the novel in which a group of astartes land on a planet to discover everyone is dead and hanging from trees, buildings, rafters, etc. Turns out quite a few of the corpses had flayed ones hiding inside of them.
Automatically Appended Next Post: There was also fluff in the oldcron codex of an officer being momentarily tricked in the midst of battle by a flayed one wearing his subordinate's skin before realizing that it's in fact a necron when he notices the still breathing bloody mess that was his subordinate (and then either blows his own brains out before the same can be done to him or gets flayed). So Ben Counter wasn't pulling something he thought would be creepy out of his ass, there was precedence for it
Automatically Appended Next Post: Oh, and let us not forget about the Necron Lord posing as an Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos.
koooaei wrote: Necrons are gona get new tiny cute flayed ones models to match the fluff. They'd look like dead guardsmen.
Now you have me thinking about converting some plastic guardsmen with necron bits. I've never really liked the Flayed Ones models. Infinltrators would be interesting.
