I wonder if this thread about the video review of a Dakka thread will in turn generate another video reviewing the thread discussing the video review of a thread.
I'm actually amazed at the concept of what this guy did, actually making a youtube video, complaining about a thread in Off-Topic, going off topic. At any rate, here is the link to the thread in question.
It looks like the posts are from Feb. 2015. Do we know which thread he was discussing. I flipped through some stills and recognized some old avatars, but couldn't listen to the audio.

If he wanted people to care and/or watch his diatribe he probably should exercise brevity in his uploads. I'm sure as hell not going to watch or listen to something of that length that isn't a MST3K film on youtube.
Wyrmalla wrote: So where's the crowd funding campaign to make this an ongoing series?
I want him to analyze YMDC. That alone would make for an... interesting video series.
You know, I think we see some pretty interesting mental gymnastics in here sometimes... but YMDC is basically an olympic level event for mental gymnastics.
This thread went to the underworld and back again.
And that was his last post here.
Calling it, one of the mods killed this guy and they're only pulling this out now years later as a veiled threat.
That or this'll be the last we see of Ketara for blowing the whistle on the whole affair... Outing Lego as an illegal online Greencard/Kitchen business mogul would have prolific however.
As I can't open the youtube or whatever rant here, was the any mention of the greatness of wienerdogs and then coming of Dachshundskrieg? Thats really the only thing that matters. After all, the 1st H of the 21st century will be remember for three things: Buck Rogers, The Great Zombie War (aka "the Zombie Games" in Texas), and the coming of the Wienerdog NorthAmerican Hegemony.

TLDNR
But I think we can safely assume no analysis of DakkaDakka would be complete without paying homage to the Great Wienie.
What an odd way to spend your free time, constructing a 1h 20m review of a thread the internet doesn't care about, on a forum that's tucked in a rather niche corner of a vast ocean. I don't know what drives these people.
*Goes back to swearing at metal miniatures thAT WON'T STICK TOGETHER GODDAMNIT!* *Hurls metal pieces and collapses sobbing in the corner*
So, in summary, he spends an hour and a half ranting about a thread going really off topic in the Off Topic forum - and he spends a lot of this time...off topic himself?

I know I'll only be satisfied when this guy posts another video about this thread about his video about another thread on which the pressing issue of the TV show "The Slap" is discussed at length by tabletop wargamers. The struggle is real folks!
I found it and posted about it in the Super Secret Mod Board told Ketara about it. I came across it because I was watching a vid on YT of someone complaining about BoardGameGeek and I thought, i wonder if there are any vids about Dakka Dakka. And there was one.

As soon as I saw my Tag I was like. Ohhhhhhhh FETH If I remember, It was me arguing against disciplning a child with slapping. Oh Yeah, and I got confused with the OP and thought it was actually about slapping a child.

Also, after 5 minutes of listening, I realized that HotManSauce better watch the feth out. This guy wants to child discipline you.
So does my girlfriend, but I dont let her do that.

While I am upset that I am not e-famous. (Am I? I didn't watch any of that, have I posted in that thread? I WANT MY 15-30 MINUTES OF YOUTUBE SENSATION FAME!) I have to say, I am not shocked at all that it is a thread started by Asterios.
Heh, I remember reading that thread and deciding it was better to walk away than post in it.
Meanwhile, is this the only way this guy could think of to make a comment on that thread. Did he get to the end of that hour long piece and think "gak, I just realised that if I really want to say my piece I could have just posted it in the thread... I've just wasted an hour of my life. Oh well, let's upload to youtube."

Plot twist: It is Asterios, but he is banned and cannot post in it anymore.
Someone who is not banned from the forums. Whether or not he's banned from OT, he's not posting in this thread but is still an active member so maybe not drag him into this for laughs mayhaps?
That wasn't directed at you. DJones linked the original thread this video is about on page one. You can refresh yourself there (he was the OP).
I just don't think we should be making jokes about him here, especially if he is banned from OT and unable to respond to it. I might push up against the forum rules on courtesy, but I do try to restrict myself to people actually posting in a thread.
Yup, an hour for each comment.
When they make a feature film adaptation it's going to be split into three parts and released 3 hours at a time just before Christmas to compete with Starwars, The Hobbit, Harry Potter etc.

Yes, please.

See, this is a youtube video I'd watch
I second that.
It could become a dark and moody short film about a man slowly driven to madness by his metal miniatiures. Please make it. This story needs to be told.

I had a pewter dreadnought leg and arm break off yesterday, while swapping it's cannon for a TLLC. I wanted to scream. There was cussing and pinning to be had. (Oh and to echo chamber everyone else, that is the video we deserve by the way.)
Gandair, I'm kinda surprised you took the time to do this.

A review of a thread. That's over an hour long. Has anyone actually sat through the whole thing? This does not seem to be an effective use of time. Since its a year ago, does that technically count as a necro?

Have we started a fire? Inb4 forum reviews become a thing.
Breaking news! There was a ten poster pile up on the DakkaDakka Discussions Board earlier today when a poster made a wild claim that Riptides were perfectly balanced. The claim has left the DakkaDakka world reeling, and our prayers go with the toy soldiers and their plight!
I'm ashamed to say I just watched the full twelve minutes of his review of our thread about his review about our thread. Admittedly, I was drinking with a friend simultaneously, thus rendering it not a complete waste of time, but still....

Don't kid yourself, it's a complete waste of time.

OK.
And?
And I find it continually amusing how things posted on the internet have their way of creeping back into relevance from time to time. It gives me a giggle. Once in a while I will randomly get a comment on the Valkyrie Profile Salerno Academy Puzzle Walkthrough video I made years ago or someone stumbling across one of my 40k batreps to point out stuff I did wrong or give me criticism about my style of presentation.
Also if anyone's curious I don't make any money off that youtube channel. I'm not partnered on it. All my videos are just my own folly/amusement. If you see an ad on a video for some reason that's all youtube and I have nothing to do with it.

that's an exalt worthy post.
he wanted to talk about a crappy show, then gets upset no one else does, he makes a video about it.
That dude needs a hobby
oh and another thing, it warms my heart you guys miss me when I'm off doing other things makes me sorry I missed that thread. thanks for keeping me in your thoughts Ensis & Whembly.

Then I see I have no choice but to make my own video complaining about how he pronounces Dakka in his video about a thread on Dakka! And I shall post it on Youtube also, in order to make my nemesis tremble in his boots when he sees that my power has grown to the point where I may absorb some of his previously untouchable youtube powers!

Most Americans seem to pronounce it "dahka" (or "darker") instead of "dacka" (rhymes with "quacka") for some reason, much to the chagrin of us British folk...

Ah, well yes, that's how I pronounce it as well - though I've heard that the correct way is that nails-on-chalkboard "dacka" noted above.

Sadly.
Well, it is meant to replicate the sound of a machine gun so it should be short and sharp, like a rat-a-tat-tat.
