u971's Lab.
First off Welcome,How And what i will be painting will be varied I Will be making more effort, spending more time than your average painter to go that little bit further with detailing, parts placement and basing themes,And try my best to keep this updated with new models and WIP at least monthly.

Favor using as much scratch build stuff when i can and have the option and time, currently not making any terrain, buildings, boards, trees etc, focusing on purely models, preferring basic paint schemes,
using clean highlights, staying away from drybrushing on most of my models using only on tank size vehicles,Collecting several different army's,excluding dark/eldar never really liked them, currently working up to Space Marines (Ultra) Followed by,
Chaos Marines & Tyranids, before working my way into the small Necron & Ork army's i have unpainted, along with additional Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum Units to my 1.5k+ existing and painted models,Randomly Alternating which army's i paint to keep things interesting.

Current Army's 30k/40k:(Imperial Guard,Space Marines,Orks,Necrons,Tyranids,Chaos,Tau)
Overly Ambitious Goal for the Year: Get at least 3 full Size Squads Painted, and or minus 1squad for a vehicle or small building instead.

Current Army's 6mm World War 2 Historical&Bolt Action/Konflikt "47:(Axis,Allies)

Previously Worked on:Stupidly Massive Amounts of Objective Markers.

Target this month:!
Currently Working on:See above.

They are in the works, working on the below genestealers they are about half painted sorta, will post them with paint on in a few hours only ever painted 5termagants not so long ago see below,so its slow going getting the hang of painting new parts,i'am so not used to painting insect like things.

Spoiler:

Spoiler:

Edit: The Pictures below are the stuff currently being processed, slowly tidying up the stealers one of the top right shows how the main body will end up,that ones just missing paint on the claws & basing.
Leman russ weapon options in the upper right first picture.

The Mortar Pit without crew, more objective marker scrap&fuel, more brick bases, looking to eventually build a couple more brick bases for a future squad of likely fancy cadians.

Tyranids Completed! Brood Below.
First Genestealers i have ever painted,so forgive the parts i messed up,as i said before tyranids are totally new to me,still they came out okay i think few parts i'am happy with others not so much, things i learned from painting genestealers "damn that was annoying" ,next brood will paint better with a slightly different paint scheme, far less and better applied caroburg crimson, different and more purple carapace, although this brood was supposed to be a all basic first wave no bio weapon heads or morphs,so i kinda did achieve that much with them.

Of Lesser Noteworthiness Also Completed the Mortar Pit,Without Crew,See Below.

Forgot to upload and post these but i did finish that small batch of 25mm based stuff, more objective markers, bored of scrap theme now however, and will move onto something more engaging next batch of markers, have a small mass of 25mm bases so why not..

Bought a Basing upgrade, since i was running low on the sand i was using, lots of choice now, think i will likely use a fair few of the tiny little stones perfect size for small bases.

Below the squad i will be painting next month,Squad Octavian Battle for Macragge Edition, painting the above nids burned me out a bit, likely paint some bits while i wait a while, will be glad to paint some damn guns after them lot,the below pic will also serve as next months proof pic for the challenge.

Battle for Macragge Force Fields,Thunderhawk Homing Beacon & Fusion Core (Nuke) likely do these first before the above squad.

And lastly another Upgrade,to my paint&basing stuffs storage, along with added tiles for easy cleanup, besides glues waters & paints are starting to eat the tabletop!

Finished up some stuff been working on,see what below,as well as testing out my new basing kit, built a bunch of additional objective markers to add to my now overflowing boxfull,as well as some other random markers, theme is crates wooden crates,as i see a stupid lack of them in the imperial guard, really there should be more crates made of wood not "adamantium"

Number Crates.

Named Crates (Baseless) so can be stacked in buildings etc.

Random Markers,Siege Supplies & Loot.

Nice looking collection of objectives/scatter bits.

I like the genestealers, The bold red of the claws plays off very nicely on the pale carapace.

Good luck with those Ultras. I finally got around to painting my copies of them around when we got out 6th ed codex, and shiny new kits. Was hard to focus through those old push-fits. Still a decent squad though. I keep on meaning to field my pilot, just to get him on the table. I figure use him as a counts-as armourum cherub for a dev squad.

Looking very well done! Man did i have a lot of trouble with that pilot back the first time i tried to paint him.

I really like those wooden crates, i love little simple but charactarful things like those

Thanks! first stealers i have painted, but they came out nice which i was "not" expecting.

Also yeah i have a few objectives and such and not so slowly adding to them, will make more of them milktop ones in various colors,as well as a few 40mm based objectives but different to all my others, have the mental plans already ,figured the round containers would look sci fi enough and look good stacked around one or more of them Munitorum Armored Containers or a bastion,as for the ultramarine's figured there will be annoying bits being push fit more worried about insignia, likely to try freehand the armplates nothing fancy just some roman numerals, after a bunch of practice that is.
I plan on using the pilot as a demolitions guy in the future with a funky void bomb in a suitcase or something equally dramatic.

Same, the simple variety are quicker to make and more 40k legit regarding rules that is,and thanks the crates were made out of popsicle stick wood, very simple to make.

More Markers Completed see below.

Made the pools with nurgles rot technical, the tyranids bits are sliced up scything talons, really was that simple to make this set.

Made from "A pen" liquid cement and superglue tops, painted up nuln oiled, with waterslide transfers added.

Some other stuff below also making glacial progress on my marines, but have been busy with other things, like making them markers, which are now done so,hopefully get onto them next, unless some other idea for something distracts me away.....again!

Objective marker "Collection"

Nice Amount of New Additions to my pile,Will be painting them all as Ultramarines, some pics below,Damn! that's alot of sprue.
Betrayal at Calth.
x30 Legion Veteran Tactical Marines. Points: 160 Per Squad? = 480 Points.
x5 Cataphractii Terminators.[With Weapon options] =200 Points.
x1 Cataphractii Terminator Captain.[With Relic Sword] =130 Points.
x1 Contemptor Dreadnought.[With Kheres Pattern Assault Cannon] =185 Points.
x1 Legion Chaplain.[With Plasma Pistol] = 115 Points.
Total =1110 Points.

Notes on my entry to this months painting challenge, decided to slow down painting not in a rush this month,
The Reason is i might actually end up painting almost every model i have this year,At the rate i'am completing models, and ideally i would like a squad or two of different army's left to paint,
that way i have some models to paint next year.

Objective Marker Related.
Still making markers but also taking my time with them, still even so managed to Make a full set of chemical weapon spill NBC Markers,
[dip magazines in hazardous/nuclear/chemical waste = poisoned ammo] same as the other most recent builds,A 40mm plus the three 25mm base set versions,
Along with a Comms Nexus, which i was going for a aliens style theme lots of big dishs, but came out as necromunda or sci fi looking due to lack of any dish shaped bits,so went with aerials, will post them all in a few days when complete,
No more 25mm bases anyway I have used 40+ of them,so the next markers i make will be biggest yet, most likely 60mm dioramas of something, probably an ammo dump a sizable one,and some archeotech artifacts in funky jars along with some little eye catching pieces, along with trial rules for each marker as usual.

Also some to be repaired terrain & buildings, never found a good way to store such things, maybe when i someday fix them up and base them into city of death ruins.

The BaC box is packed full of goodness. Part of me wants to get another one, I had a ton of fun with the first one. But I also like some variety in my paintbench. Still, if you are thinking about 30k and building a legion, it is a solid core of bodies.

I’d not worry about running out of things to paint. There are always going to be new shiny things you will need to pick up.

Looking forward to having a nice size force of ultras eventually that is,as for running out of things to paint you are right there, still only 2 things i see myself getting in the future apart from more paint,a company command squad, and scout snipers.

Still taking it slow i mean compare to my usual painting speed, getting a stage done a day kinda approach feels like i'am getting slightly better results, also gives me time to get objective markers done,so many ideas i have to make in model form.

Comms Nexus & Toxic Pool Cluster Completed,Check Images description for Rules.

Made with a markerpen top for the main array, straws and bits of paperclip for the aerials a gluetop cut to size and shape, some thin card for the screens, and a couple of transfers.

Made with broken up green translucent BB's Ballistic Bullets (airsoft) some nurgles rot technical with caliban green under it,with ash waste basing around said pools.

Random Use markers "Dataslates" Made with some cut up microwave container tops for the clear plastic, sodium bicarb for the snow, writing on the slates with a marker pen,pva glued in place.

Nice work on the pilot.

How many objectives do you need? If is that just how you do scatter terrain?

Thanks,As for how many objectives i need honestly have no idea, there were i mean are a ton of mission types of which most don't have any kind of themed markers,I have goggled what I wanted while there are some examples similar to mine, not one looks like i thought they should or don't exist at all, leading to me having to make them, there are a few more i have left to make not going to run out of ideas quickly, parts are my only limiting factor, otherwise i would literally make 1000s of objective markers one for every possible scenario.

And the scatter bits naa just making 3 more of the 3-colors of the bottlecap ones, they are to go with my munitorum armored containers, likely use as a large city armory,or stacked around my bastion, after that only terrain bits i will make is wooden crates lots of them, prefer modular terrain anyway not got all that much terrain as it go's,most is in disrepair, which is why the amount of small bits, well until i gather the will to take on painting the few resin pieces and fixing the old buildings I have.

@Cleatus,Thanks.

Blog Update (Completed Challenge Entry) Ultramarines squad half [Octavian],along with roman numerals and livery of the 2nd company which turned out not bad, although the U's not so much so i improvised and it looks good went for mini u's and scrolling, also learning new skills and perfecting others,Small Hobby Upgrade bought new skin paints as the age old paints i'am using are ok but i know i could do skin alot better, also more bases for you guessed it more objective markers, and a sprue of skulls for which I have a plethora of uses.

Enjoyed painting the below squad learned a few things mainly acquiring the clean crisp edge highlighting i wanted which i can now do to above acceptable levels, all the better for the next batch of marines, while I could practice alot more freehand designs and i will until i can freehand all them annoying shaped U's,also getting better at applying washes followed by now very little cleanup, which leaves a better neater finish, also learned painting a batch for a time critical challenge adds unneeded pressure and stress to get them completed,so next time a couple of models seems more manageable,Besides the next challenge looks like it's going primal as such all i have that fits that theme is a few choppy orks, will see next month but i would like to enter again.

Squad Octavian (Ultramarines) First Squad Half.

Squad Octavian Livery/Insignia.

Works in progress,my new paints, skulls, bits box working on painting up a tanks weapon options, and the second half of squad Octavian lead by Weapons Specialist Atreus.

Thinking on what i'am painting next month,as i said prefer to mix it up,alternating what i paint human to alien back and forth, being as though next month is Primal, and I just done a bunch of marines, some tyranids it is,will be doing the below, and as a single "Spore Mine Infestation Cluster" likely x4 Exploding Mines and one 40mm Infestation, and at a later date the acid & poison cluster, well as long as life allows it that is it's still a good time off in the future.

Either way also trying to quickly paint up these and the bike+biker.

Apart from that just finished reading the story part of the fall of cadia, the hell noo kell's dead I liked that dude seriously, and what the hell happened to creed wisked off by a steel giant to the great beyond or whatever so random.

Back to making objective markers, completed a big one,my best marker yet if i do say so myself, not going into construction details, unless asked,no point.
As for what i'am making next, not totally sure was thinking either big fat ammo dump a tyranid ammo dump sliding towards that unusual idea, and or some small chaos themed stuff not done anything evil looking in a long time, could make a large nid digestion pool snaz it up some could also be interesting, then there is Necromunda Theme like the below which is black holing me into making as they look so much more interesting..will decide after I finished this months entry and a marine biker should give me time to pick which and what next.

Also painting up my spore mines about 50% done already, also same on 6 Ultras one biker, needing only insignia highlighting and tidy up,then I officially have a full squad of nice shiny marines, and my nids will have some creepy bio bomb backup.

2 Tyranid Spore Mine Clusters (Completed) x8 total plus Spawning Infestion. (My last 40mm Base )

Exploding Mine Cluster.

Acid & Poison Mine Cluster.

Also Working on my next Objectives Markers,Decided to Stick with this years,Overwelming Theme Of Necromunda and/or Shadow War Variant,
Made x12 Industrial Bases (Necromundian/Underhive Theme) WIP for the markers,Rereading Necromunda The Rules Been a decade since last read through,
Love literally love the way it works upgrades fuel buying stuff guns/ammo troops even whole structures, like my comms nexus,or toxic pools,
Will make a few sets of Ammo Supplies & Grenades.(Weapon Upgrades),Promethium Barrels/Cans/Caches.(Funds/Buying) Knifes.(Melee Upgrades) Water Bottles (Funds/Buying) All Parts Painted already, just need gluing & Positioning Appropriately.

Industrial Base Batch.x12

Apart from that,i'am thinking I will eventually have to slow down and actually post just once a month, not several times as is,while its good and all getting nice amounts of stuff built,
It does backfire into real life eventually unless some awkward compromise between hobby and existence can be made, suspecting that the latter will soon come upon me like flys to the dead,I have also
Made my Last purchase for quite some time! not willing to spend more, have enough to keep my hands and mind occupied for the duration of the year and some,Last stuff i bought,a
Balsa Wood Assortment (Mini Crates) easier to work with than popsicle sticks,Kromlec Time Some Imperial Highlanders with HMG/H-Bolter,Plus Ork Operator & Goliath Mine,a Technical some Oxide effect, extra black running low,
20 40mm Bases And a few Metal Human Skeletons.

Necromunda Supplies,Objective Markers (Completed) Rules/Effect Listed next to the Items in Question.
Ammo (Reload/Credits) Flamer Fuel (Reload/Credits) Autocannon Ammo (Reload/Credits) Water Stash (Credits)
Smoke Grenades (Concealment) Table of Knifes (Melee Upgrade) Table of Grenades (Explosives) Promethium Cache (100credits per 3barrels,25 for x3 fuelcans) 3=One Cache.

The Markers on Tables are Meant to be Purchases off of a Trading Post,And or Upgrades Fought over during Games.
Water is worth 25credits As is the Flamer Fuel if Captured and Sold that or 4 Shots for a Flamer ammo rolls required as usual,
Similar for the Bolter & Autocannon Reload but worth less in trade 15credits,the knifes melee upgrade costs 5cred each member equipped,
alternatively if captured in a raid a one of x3 members picked and re-equipped,grenades coat 1cred each max of 6 per member, ammo rolls must be taken just in case the grenade used is a dud,
The cache of promethium is either won in battles fought over or captured during a game, providing credits for each acquired.

Already Working on my next bunch of Necromunda Markers Inspired by my re discovery of the game,
HQ's Watering Hole providing credit revenue and fought over can also be destroyed, with drinkys sorted food is the next obvious thing,
so a Mushroom Farm Crop is already partially completed, also more supplies likely some Krak Grenades, more Smokes, maybe some guns too.

Also something a bit different non 40k related a Cromwell Mk IV Tank (Airfix) was an interesting build, still deciding on the paint scheme though, and busy with other stuff anyway.

Upgraded my Bit's Box,Them little compartments are handy, and yes i paint all my bits, well most.

Thanks,And Not this time glued them in place, still have all the bits for the 60mm archeotech marker though built extra tables for the 25mm one's.
Prefer making them permanent, got over 100 individual markers already, and unsure how many more i will make, but the odds are good will be alot more.

Painted up a random Ultramarine Biker, along with more Objective Markers, next going to have a good go at finishing of the other half of my marine squad,
then move onto some bits and maybe my last munitorum armored container,My previous order has arrived,Kromlech Stuff,a WW1 Style HMG With Scotsman Imperial Guard,A Ork Operator And WW1 Style RC Goliath Mine, both are seriously detailed almost FW level quality,
as well as a few soft metal human skeletons along with 20 40mm Bases which are Not GW Grade or type there a bit weird tbh and about 3mm lower, but whatever they will do fine for objective markers and stuff, and a assorted selection of balsa wood to play around with.

Much has happened is happening, primed a mass of orks old vehicles and more, for the bench awaiting a day like many others, killed off my can of black spray, but preemptively bought extra pot of black, and half half a pot left so i'am good for prime for a while,
Got myself 2 more ork goliath tanks on the way,and intending on mass producing bits and eagles with green stuff in order to up my game with objective markers and masses of kit for veteranizing imperials orks and traitors,as well as 5more termagants making 20total,which was my target, tyranid troop section all but maxed,at 3broods of Genestealers, 2broods of Gaunts.

A bunch of new and interesting objective markers have been made see my objective marker thread for the details.
Next month will be a hectic one, painting up an ork and 3 mini bomb tanks for mays challenge, should be interesting for me,and the viewers, being non 40k and quite a bit different from other specialist games,
Also got into Historical miniatures namely 6mm World War2 Aircraft, which are both cool and well within my field of interests, intending on getting into them in the near future, likely very soon, also will need some stuff for de germans to bomb,so some 6mm objective markers are also on the cards, british and welsh warehouses, barns, factorys and such, again should be interesting,
On top of all that i have some Shadow war Terrain & Rules on the way on release, current task though finish off my last 5 ultramarines keep ignoring them due to other interesting stuff catching me off guard and delaying there completion, want them as a kill team for shadow war,so sooner the better.

Progress Update, some delivery's arrived not sure where to start so left them to the side for a while,
just assembled my other 2 ork Goliath mines and undercoated them and some ww2 era planes, also working on objective markers,as well as a
mass of premade bases so i can just glue stuff on them to suit my visions as my mind generates them, trying trench bases & nid hive, post when i'am done with my next batch,
got the insignia done on my 5 ultramarines not much left to do,long boring highlighting then there ready for basing, intend on using them as a kill team or in shadow war, until i get there 40 or so buddys assembled.

More Chaos and Necromunda Markers on the way.
Next month will be "Explosive" in theme will likely make some bombs not the usual bog standard though, something bit different i reckon, making all these things is sucking the will to live out of me,
which is why i'am pre painting a mass of bases and bits this month to come,to use in the following month giving me time to read the shadow war book, and do a bit of a tidy up,kinda destroyed the area around me with glue & paint along with the floor, covered in bits of plastic and metal sharp bits, not as bad as stepping on lego but still up there,so intend on sorting that out.

Progress Update, plan on getting a layer on some marines in the next few days while i read shadow war some, get them marines a step closer to done,Notable stuff has happened,my first experience with green stuff made several molds,Water bottles,Old leman russ tank door,2 types of Aquila eagle, lasgun power packs, small pouches, ork bike hubcaps, ork medium pouches & belt triple pouches,The Odd Necron Scarab, also masses of cables and mechadendrites, and 20+ purity seals, starting to produce copys from the molds, long way to go before there are piles though, still have about 4grams left enough for whats needed i hope managed to pull off all but one of the molds which is still okay, slight pock marks when i made a mold of the tankdoor, foresee me using alot more greenstuff as i learn more advanced techniques.

Hope i can actually get them Goliath's done in time shadow war is also taking up my time nice book though, either way even if i don't make the challenge deadline they will still get done anyway in the near after.

x22 Purity Seals,x10 Of Two Aquila Eagle Sizes/Types,30+ Cables and Mechadendrites Various Shapes Sizes and Angles,x3 Old Leman Russ Tank Doors,x12 Small Scout Marine Pouches,x4 Ork Medium Pouches,x4 Ork Triple Pouches,x7 Ork Bike Hubcaps,
x3 Necron Scarabs,x8 Imperial Water Bottles,And (x32) Lasgun Power Packs unsure if it is enough for a pallet of ammo on a 40mm base thinking will need at least double that number,so that will have to wait till i buy more green stuff, which will be a while off, still going to make a bunch of pallets though.

Got a nice big mass of bits made up and almost all held there inprints well, plenty more bits to make my stuff more unique,as well as build custom models with.
Already put them to good use,Made some Servo Skull Doctors they came out Good and will double as extra cheap close combat servitors for Humans,as well as a medicae auto doc table, complete with Aquila, cabling, and dry blood.

Not been doing the best job of keeping this thing updated with what i'am up too,but i have not been idle, however i have taken a nice lengthy break from painting lots of models,as it is hot in wales, and with that a natural slowdown has happened,no problem painted over 50models and its only half way into the year so i'am not doing bad on the legit 40/30k scene.

What I have been doing is experimenting with green stuff, both sculpting simple but useful parts example would be,my purity seals on the artillery shells see below, but mainly duplicating uncommon amounts of bits, the numbers are already up to over 100 Bits,so i'am doing well, but by the end of the week will be more like 200+ bits, and lots of molds for keepsakes, going to take molds of any part/bit i like and do not want to loose the use of,especially OOP Bits, never know will have a brainwave one day for an epic model if only i had several random bits, which i now shall have Plan on taking pics in a few days of said bits,as well as before and after painted pics of the molded bits,so i can track my own progress with green stuff.

Blessed Artillery Shells.(The Purity Seals and Sculpted Green stuff) Objective Marker Set.

Kept a few of the above shells to eventually turn into IED style Traps,Have some realistic water effect, dunno its a thing, not sure how to work with it,still pondering uses, dug out some 30k bits to make molds from along with more water bottles eagles and such,
A good few will find there way into markers, lack of frag&krak grenades an holstered weapons for a start,Along with more necron scarabs they came out good want another cluster of them, possibly a full size swarm of 12 in time.

Total Bits Made:
x10 Necron Scarabs 4 styles,x10 Holstered Bolt Pistols,x3 Old Leman Russ Tank Doors,x4 Medium Ork Pouches,x10+ Power-cables/Mechadendrites,x10 Aquila Eagles 2 Styles,x10 Water Bottles,x10 Ork Bike Hubcaps,x8 Small Pouches,x6 Large Pouches,x6 Multi Pouches,x3 Triple Belt Pouches,x10+ Frag Grenades,x10+ Krak Grenades,x20 Extra Small Pouches,x40+ Lasgun Power Packs.

New Before & After Green Stuff Bits, like to keep track of what i make, good paint schemes for the bits, which molds are hard to do so on,and these before&after pictures help,
And may help others also, which is why i take pictures of the bits in that form.

Think the Scarabs will again see use as spy's sneaking around environmental obstacles, but different ones of course, the mini pouches are not easy to paint but i think they still look fine,
Krak & Frag grenades were annoying to release from the molds even with oiling to ease them out, just the shape of them sticks bad to the sides of the mold meaning the molds die quick after a handful of uses,
as for the water bottles thought i would try a more civilian or medical color scheme as they will be used in things like food or medical supply stash's,will be painting the rest the same as they look real nice with the blue.

More Before & After Green Stuff Pics below > That's only 20 lasgun power packs, only 50 to go

Third Picture of the before and afters, that will be all for a while now in my experiments with molds and sculpting, however most of the bits are to be used in my last few objective markers.

While i have painted a nice big amount of bits,it is still not even close to how many are left!
see my green stuff bits box picture below, that will likely be filled once i paint 80 or so more bits.

Green Stuff Bits Box.

Running low on Basic pre painted hazards i use frequently,Pipes,Razor Wire, that next, followed by hopefully a actual model or a few, been a while since i done something not objective markers,
but i'am nearing the end of my travels warp deep into objective markers, safely going over the top and over again with the amount and variety made, the last several sets are coming after the last mass of bits are painted.

After I have completed them,Models will surely follow would like to get a few squads up and running of various army's before the years end, maybe a building and vehicle or two along with them.
Should be easy too, being as though painting these tiny bits has increased my painting size tolerance, with many 1mm bits having been painted most likely gained some new skill level.

It's a nightmare painting the smallest pouches, but i figured they have some good uses to mix up the look of some basic models, cadian guardsman, space marines so on.

Forgot to post this progress pic back when i was producing molds of the bits, but better late than never.

Also took a Pic of the batch of Pallets and a few crates i made, for use in various things, not just objective markers, would make good barricades as is just stacked into a small wall.

Looking forward to getting them done,it's be a long time in the works getting the molds made, making the parts and painting them, feels good to be done with the tiny bits,

Hi u971- with apologies if this suggestion is too sophomoric, but for painting small detail pieces/bits like power packs and ammo pouches, have tried using double-sided tape? Attach a strip of paint to your painting area, stick the small bits onto it, and paint 'em.

Very much enjoyed seeing all your work- it's given me some ideas to try out myself!

Thank you!

Bought myself a large box of bits off ebay, see if i could get some good stuff, lucked out on a bunch of bits of much use to me,pics below.
Look for yourself! still sorting them into bags for now, likely buy a few organizer boxes looking at the "thousands" of bits in front of me! will make an actual list of what parts are there when i get some damn boxes to put them all in,bunch of rogue trader era bits guns and such mixed in there also.

@Meer_Cat.
I tend to use blu tack if i have problems with the bits running away off the table, was more referring to the repetitive highlighting one tiny part after another, that was not fun, next part will be though,
And cool nice to inspire people into making there own weird things.

When in Need, old credit card Bases!

e-bay bits. (Yet to be properly organised) know my stuff though so should remember the names for all the bits.

These bits have already been cleaned, paint taken off, glue chunks broken off etc. > see the old rhino half dunno what i'am going to do with that.

Bought some Historical Models,as i'am expecting to get some models painted in the coming weeks, due to i have built enough objective markers,to keep the markers thread up and running for another few months,
so i can do other stuff now,i will find a way to get a marker or two in there though duhh.

Bought some WW2 Warplanes but they are due September,x3 Bf 109 F-4,x1 Spitfire Mk. I/II,x1 Blenheim Mk. I/If."Metal"

And a mass of supplies for said planes, along with a couple of small ships, and a building from http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/
Will post Before and After pictures in my Usual Manner when they arrive, shame they don't sell rockets i like rocket armaments.

http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=224_225_58_92
50Kg/100Lb Bomb x10 "Metal"

LCS (S)(I) Landing Craft Support MkI x2 "Resin" http://www.scotiagrendel.com/Products/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=0&products_id=3101

Intend on Turning a few of the above into WW2 Objective Markers,Example being a line of Five 100lb Bombs on a concrete theme base, representing an airfields ammo supplies,a nice target for a strafing run,
the pillbox will be a target for bombers,as will the 2 Anti Aircraft Machine Guns AAMG's,the naval stuff, will be on ocean or water bases, likely mini dioramas for the rubber rafts, with just plain water for the x2 landing support crafts.
With most of the aircraft equipment for upgrading some planes with a more distinctive appearance.

Likely also do some 40k stuff models not markers,so keep an eye out for that to in future posts.

Squad Octavian 2nd Half & Full Squad (Battle for Macragge),that's one done 2 more squads of whatevers, and i have reached my target for the year! which would be well sweet and a nice achivement,
might substitute a squad for a large unit,building/vehicle.

Also below is the constructed infantry support ship, forgot how annoying gluing metals to resin is,it's been a while, must have reglued half the vents twice, until i decided to place them with tweezers, which was unfun, but as you can see it's all well placed, this time.
working on some minor bits and pieces atm nothing noteable, just stuff that needs doing, you will see what in time as usual when i share my creations.

@Camkierhi:
Lot's more to come in the future,as for the bits production it was hard work, but worth it for making my objective markers more realistic,
give it a few weeks,i post on the markers thread every 10days,you will see what i mean, hardly posted any i have made.

6mm World War 2 Models below,First of many,i'am using hex bases for most if not all of these types,
they have various uses from bombing&strafing run targets, optional aircraft equipment, anti aicraft functions, bombers, fighters,
example being the flak guns which in certain games "check your six" etc,can function as flak generators putting out a hex or two of flak.

Addionally picked up some Battletech stuff,a pursuit lance, some infantry and a couple of vehicles, expect a few objective markers relating to them in the future,
First page updated, nothing major just removing stuff i painted, and adding to the stuff i have.

Matilda Mk I Tank.(Bombing Run Target)

AAMG Single Anti Aircraft Position,(Bombing Run Target,Flak Generator)
Additional Use for check you six games, each hex base generates x1 hex of flak,at the choosen altitude.

1000 Pounds,100lb Bombs.(Bombing Run Target,Aircraft Optional Equipment)

Pillboxes.(Bombing Run Target) (to be based)

Not so sure about my attempt at dazzle camo, some parts are okay others look off center,if you know what i mean, still within tolerance though, not enough to make me repaint them.
Likely go with speckled grays when i paint my next few axis bombers.

Ju-88 Bomber.

He-111 Bomber.

All very tidy. Lovely work as ever. Got some more WWII 6mm bits incoming myself after seeing these. Not just more planes I mean. (Got more planes too of course.)

The camo on those German bombers is known as splinter camouflage.
"Dazzle " would have been the camouflage used for naval vessels. It looks really wild.

Looking forward to seeing your Battletech stuff, especially your objectives. Thanks for sharing all your hard work.

Picked up some battletech tech,A Rommel Heavy Tank,And a Mantis light scout Heli.
Next thing i buy is going to have to be paints, mainly pots of blacks, decided to stop using spray and go back to the old ways,of undercoating each model one at a time.

Rommel Heavy Tank.

Mantis light scout Heli.

Infantry.

Nearly finished painting my first 4 mechs also, and will be basing them tonight,
gone for my usual standard military theme, olive drab effect, various greens, nothing fancy, not my style.
Also next month will be Battletech month on the show of your objective markers thread! with a couple of sets due to be posted.

Added a few more 6mm World War 2 things also,a duel AAMG position, airfield defences, and assorted fuel drop tanks.

Awesome stuff. I'm a big fan of historical wargaming (mostly 28mm medieval stuff) but unfortunately I barely get games in with them. Is there a 6mm community where you are, or is this just a painting project?

Also I'll be expecting at least 10 of these.

WLF Wolfhound

CLNT Clint

CN9 Centurion

JR7 Jenner

Went for a woodland base theme as it go's with the military color scheme,
as well go's with the objectives markers set's i made for next month to go with them, very much like battletech,
likely get a whole bunch more after i paint another pile of 40k,lots left to work on,even though i have painted a considerable amount of minis, made very little difference to the amount i have unpainted,
intend to pick at my 30/40k stuff bit at a time, while also adding to my liking for 6mm-ww2 & battletech.

First Planning on a day or two break, earned the rest!

EmberlordofFire8.
Thanks, don't get to game myself, besides would rather be painting,as for the 6mm community couldn't say due to the lack of play,
It's a Personal project, also allows me to break up all the 28mm models.

Tiger tanks huh,a alltime classic monster that one, getting some 6mm german tanks myself eventually, although will be assorted types, stocked up for a few months as you can see above,
will be looking out for your tanks when you paint them up!

Dock Defences.(Bombing Run Targets)

Also based one of my patrol boats LCS Mk1,to see how it looked, looks okay,so will base the others the same, when i get some more 40mm bases that is.

And Painted up all my Leman Russ Tank,Weapons & Equipment options, get them out of the way,for when i eventually paint the tank at some point.

Taking a break tonight as i spent all day gardening and i'am knackered, but will get back to painting the 6mm landing crafts tomorrow.

Ultramarine Terminator Captain,my first termi.

Worked on a big battletech markers set based on theCrowe's,but with my generalistic painting style and theme added.
Just this morning finished them x3 Kromlech Ork Goliath's & Mine Operator/Driver i never got around to painting until now,now done,it's been a longggg time since i painted ork,is fun, will move onto an ork bike driver, hopefully the blastabike too,Expect an Ork Photo Album to be made in the next day or two,Gone for a dull bad moons theme darkened yellow banners/ork insignia's,With a bit of a world war 1 feel about them, before moving onto some battletech tanks,a heli a mech and a couple of scamm heavy trucks maybe the infantry also, and back round to 6mm models, starting with the big infantry ship, and a couple of groups of planes, well that's the plan anyway.

only got another dozen infanty to paint, and i'am half done with my tanks & heli.

My skulls arrived at last,i use a nice resin type as apposed to the cheap plastic ones,so you may yet in the future get to see the suicide servo skulls unit,
an objective for mechanicus forces hunting long lost STC tech within the skulls, and a weird upgrade for inquisition&ad-mech units.

Battletech Stuff,A Mech,Some Trucks,Plus foot infantry,Two themes gray&green for my two forces,
Going for a sorta armored core theme with my mechs,Vehicles and Infantry,So mercenarys & terrorists,The Mercs being Olive Drab with red lenses,The Terror being Battle Grays with blue lenses.

Locust mech.

Scamm Heavy Trucks.

Conventional Infantry (Foot) (1) There is another group but only just noticed the camera never decided to focus soo, will retake when i can.

That's most my battletech painted, couple of nice groups forming, will add to them eventually,
but now i'am moving back onto 6mm World War minis, beef up my showcase with more planes well after a bit of a break that is,
besides seem to be losing steam somewhat and making mistakes, have managed to get a nice amount of stuff painted quickly though, which is nice.

@theCrowe: Not using any particular clan or house, just your average un-named band of mercs and terrorists, figured i could get away with it,
the battletech universe being stupidly massive,The colors i picked they would also fit in either stiener or jade falcon factions, but not by design.

Couple of Battletech Tanks.
There was a Mantis helicopter also but i managed to screw it up,have since stripped it for repainting.
Happy with the Medium tanks paintjob, not so sure about the heavy, may or may not repaint that tank at somepoint, likely be a slow next few months with not that many models getting painted, but i could be wrong.

Finished reading both old and new battletech rules books, some interesting stuff, although just read for the basic fluff lore, going to read some historical timeline books next like northwind highlanders for a start,as i'am unsure where to begin,
theres literally a data mountain gigabytes of books, more than i could ever read well at least not this decade, will give it a go though.

Going to rotate back to 40k now for a few models, likely a ork warboss and a vehicle not sure which yet though, deffcopta or oldstyle trukk.

Ork Warboss Cogpole.

Scamm Heavy Trucks.(Another 2,they will be painted greens,no need to post a before pic, already one in my WIP Gallery)

Small Scout Vehicles.

Marksman AT Tanks.

Medium Field Laser.

Grav Jeeps.(want another 9 of these eventually, thinking of basing them on 1p Bases as they are perfect)

Also Decided to Base my Heavy Trucks,Granite base to fit there color theme, intend on painting my other two in greens,on woodland bases,
And most likely some others will be based the same like the Grav&Tracked APC's,Markman Tanks, think i will have to use something smaller for the jeeps and such though,as a said.

Still not finished up my orks one Deffcopta to go,then will hit some World War 2 stuff some Allies&Axis planes, and back into battletech, and round and round we go.

Loving pretty mud everything I see here. Battletech, orks. 6mm WWII aircraft! Its all my bag.

I've been there with the Battletech lore. "Overwhelming" hardly approaches the feeling. I must've read at least twenty novels, Gray Death Legion, Prince Hans (the despot) and friends, Wolf's Dragoons, The Jade Falcon trilogy the clan invasion and Phelan Kell's assention to Mr Clan Bigshot. On and on and I still felt like I was missing about 99% of what the universe had to offer. Never mind trying to write fiction within the cannon. Its a minefield, but at the same time it's an endless rabbit hole to research.

One Ork Deffcopta.

Decided to paint up an old trukk also,Since it looks like it won't be much work so might as well get my last ork vehicle done,
don't know if its just me but my bad moon orks, have taken a weird turn into a sorta world war 1 steampunk look.
Also Yay i hit 100 Minis painted this year,so far, never thought i was capable of such a achievement.

@theCrowe.
Just reading some of the companion books, mainly for the funny or weird ability's or drawbacks certain tech has,as well as technical manuals although not fully reading them,
Only the mechs and vehicles i have i look up,seems i have mostly medium lasers, not sure what i will get next, undecided between a couple of class1/2 mechs or a few vehicles and a long tom cannon.

Planning on building a couple of small battletech army's,in time.

One Classic Ork Trukk.

That's all my Ork Vehicles done,Only a small Mob of Nobs & Boys left, will do them in the far future though sometime next year.
On to 6mm World War 2 Planes Next,With a Squadron of BF-109's,and a RAF plane or two.

Also been experimenting more with penny bases, some 1&2p Bases below, the 1p ones are a perfect scale for the tiny battletech grav jeeps and light grav scouts will be using them for tiny battletech things,
besides would look tiny on a hex base,i checked.

1p Granite & Chemical River Bases.

2p Woodland & Granite.

Nice stuff. Ork stuff is a bit subdued. Maybe I’m just used to the old style with the garish splashes of color. Obviously a different era. But I still think things with more realistic paint jobs could use a bit of a spot color to help pop off the table a bit.

I played a TON of battletech back in the day. Still have a a couple of companies worth of metal mechs somewhere, and a dozen books on the shelf. Lost track of the fluff. I kept up with it into the clan invasion, but lost the track somewhere after that. When I hear snippets of the modern lore I just get puzzled, they seem to have gone a long way afield since then.

I made penny bases topped with clay for infantry back then. But most of my conventional forces back then were for OGRE. Same scale.

That trukk definitely belongs in the GorkaMorka Legacy hall of fame
Love the toned down look on your orks. Looking very Gorka. If they were a GorkaMorka mob that is.

The big cog on your Boss' banner pole looks cool. Looks like its a trophy from some super-heavy tank he famously pulled apart with his own claw.

A Squadron of Messerschmitt Bf-109s,A Fairey Barracuda (Torpedo Plane) And a Gloster Meteor (Jet). Also added to my 6mm Gallery.
Like the way they turned out,Nice camo pattern on both Axis&Allied Planes,Never took much time to paint either, slowly running out of planes to paint,2more batches like this, and there gone!

Onto some more Battletech next with 2 Grav APCs,2 Light Grav Scouts a Wasp Mech and a Medium Laser Emplacement,
They will be painted as Terrorists, keeping there allegiance secret, with basic battlegray paint schemes, slowly adding to the terrorist faction i have,
maybe write some backround someday for my forces,I like to think both groups Terrorists&Mercenaries work for a famous well know faction like stiener or jade falcon.

@Nevelon.
I know what you mean about my orks, after i painted them kromlech mines, the style seems to have just carried over to the rest,so i rolled with it,
rather than paint them in the usual bright comical color schemes of old.

Nice to know there are still a few battletech fans about,Companies of Mechs you say,I'am jealous! been paying most of my attentions to non mech vehicles,
there's something about the tiny but weighty tanks and such, that induce a sense of childish excitement at there metal coolness.

@theCrowe.
Thanks and yeah kinda does fit gorkamorka with the industrial feel my orks have ended up with,The Warboss's Cog is just that,A Trophy ripped from a famed imperial superheavy, that and my warboss likes mechanical things.
Easiest Conversion ever that one,The cog was from an old printer i ripped apart for bits to use with basing,The now old snowcovered scrap objective markers of mine were also from a dead printer, gotta love recycling.

Bf-109's.

Fairey Barracuda.

Gloster Meteor.

More Battletech.A Mech and Vehicles.
Slowly adding to my well equipped terrorists this time with some grav/hover APCs armed with lasers&missiles, some unarmed scouts which likely carry sensors for calling in artillery and missile support,
A medium laser emplacement did order 2 but the stockist could only find the one,so one it is,And another insect named mech a Wasp Mech.
Next will be rotating back to 40k as it's turned into my routine, going to paint up my last munitorum armored container, along with something small thinking them couple of mortar crewmen i never got around to.

Along with 3 Necron Scarab Bases for the monthly challenge and Halloween, figured i have already painted a 12+ for objective markers,so i foresee them taking not long to paint, will be having some small toxic rivers scattered about the bases too,add that bit more danger to them.
Ordered a small selection of Battletech as i'am running low,and having fun building up my forces bit at a time,Got a Commando Mech A couple of Medium Hover/Grav Tanks with Missile Launchers, and 3 more grav jeeps on the way, since there cheap and cool looking.

Wasp Mech.(A Strange looking mech this one, again a mech with a granite base theme like the Locust)

Grav APC's.(Hi Tech looking and well armed for Personal Carriers,With a fixed Laser turret and SRM's short range missiles,Well armed indeed)

Light Grav Scouts.(They are on 1p Bases,And i think they look surprisingly good on them,as the scale is perfect)

Medium Laser Emplacement.(It's on a 2p Base, looks nicely sci fi and hi-tech,shame there was not another available)

Some Necron Scarabs for this months painting challenge.
Gave them some Toxic River bases, add some hazardous atmosphere to them, less spooky though, more creepy.

Moving on up,about to make a start on an armored container, after some minor repairs, the prime is covered in tiny white paint flecks,
Somehow at sometime a big flick of white must have hit the air. After that the Inside will need to be painted in the same colors as the other two of mine, then glue it into place.

Also made a triple objective marker set, some big badass 40k booby traps, while i do intend to "stop" posting on the objective marker thread sometime next year,I will probably still make the odd marker here and there,
so you know,if your a follower stay tuned.

Suicide,Close Combat & Ranged Attack Servo Skulls.

Suicide Servo Skulls.

A optional Equipment available to Adeptus Mechnicus or Inquisition Only Units, can also be captured as part of a acheotech hoard,as these have access to mind-link technology, each skull moves "6 but cannot be more than 24" away from the unit with the mind link, max range, skulls are armed with either,
Frag,Krak,Gas,Melta each skull has Toughness-1 and a 6-Save representing the chance of hitting cables, mechanical parts etc,and explode using frag&krak,Melta profiles,or produces a gas cloud around the gas-skull for several turns,at which point the skull served its final purpose and deactivates.

Close Combat Servo Skulls.

A optional Equipment available to Adeptus Mechnicus or Inquisition Only Units, can also be captured as part of a acheotech hoard,as these have access to mind-link technology, each skull moves "6 but cannot be more than 24" away from the unit with the mind link, max range,
The Skulls are armed with a Close Combat Whammers S+1 Weapon For Strength lvl-3 Melee Attacks Using the large Whammer each skull has, each skull has Toughness-1 and a 6-Save representing the chance of hitting cables, mechanical parts etc.

Ranged Attack Servo Skulls.

A optional Equipment available to Adeptus Mechnicus or Inquisition Only Units, can also be captured as part of a acheotech hoard,as these have access to mind-link technology, each skull moves "6 but cannot be more than 24" away from the unit with the mind link, max range,
The Skulls are armed with laspistols, and have laspistol strength profile, each skull has Toughness-1 and a 6-Save representing the chance of hitting cables, mechanical parts etc.

Used up "all" of my Resin bases on the above conversions, using green stuff parts made for the objective marker thread some time ago,Have a nice big group of servo skulls now a sizable swarm with various ability's,Imagine if you would a swarm of floating human skulls,
Blowing up,flailing about madly, spiting lasfire,And disgorging plumes of toxic gas,Demoralizing to the max when the unit previously destroyed comes back for another go.
Repaired the flecks of paint on the container and painted the inside, and outside detailing, slowly losing the will to paint the bloody thing being as though i have to apply alot of washes and alot of highlighting next, but when it's done it's overwith and i have a nice set of building size containers,
Doing something less labor intensive next definitely.

My next batch of Battletech Arrived.

Commando mech. (A cool looking tactical mech) another mech more to the terrorist side and i'am done with gray mechs for a while as they have grow to lance size formation, not sure what yet will have to wait and see.

Medium Grav tanks with MRM,Medium range missiles, these will be greens along with several other vehicles, also got 3more grav jeeps.

Sorry, that's what your laspistol servo skulls made me think of. Are you Dr Evil?

Also meant to say before your Wasp mech is sweet as. Naive work on all your Battletech stuff so far. Mine is mostly all mechs so its nice to see so many more of the conventional units in your collection. Kinda makes the mechs more special too, like they should be.

Was going for comical slinky looking servo skulls, think the laspistol&whammer ones came out nice, the suicide skulls could have came out better, but still probably make for some "good" (sub standard) sentry's,
I like the battletech vehicles more in a way there so sci fi and there are a great many to pick from, trying to keep the colors neutral like they are factory fresh, although i might do an aquatic themed lance sometime that could be interesting.

That took longer than expected,Finally finished my last Munitorum Armored Container alot of work them things, well they are when you paint all 3 differently and your sooo not into it,if i ever get more they are well being all the same color, but none the less i now have a nice set painted up in various themes,Took a few pics of a Container Yard Diorama Of all the Scatter i have Painted this year so far, looks cool huh!.
Worked on some bits also 20+ for use in conversions and making dull stuff more intresting, gonna paint up more bits next, then some 6mm planes, before battletech gets more love.

Got my final group of battletech, for a while anyways, have a hunter missile launcher (arrow IV missiles) and a hellhound mech completing my terrorist lance, which will be locust, wasp, commando, hellhound mechs, will be a good while before i work on my next lance, the hellhound is my biggest mech yet,its a chunky one alright,
,also thinking i'am going to keep the rest of the vehicles baseless just in case i want to use them in a 3d battle, although me making terrain is in the distance, will hit the scratch building scene with a vengence when i have only a couple of squads left to paint, who know's how long that will take,
If i manage to paint another couple of hundred things in 2018 i will be very much closer to building buildings, and granting new life to some old beat up terrain of mine, that would be a project of itself, which always take a chunk of time pie, although next year is alot of time away, and maybe a year short of it,will have to see.

6mm WW2 Plane Below had to magnetize it when i found some old magnets in my toolbox, added to my 6mm gallery as usual,Got some better paint on the way also, getting a taste for warpaints so a few of them got in the order as did an unusual two-tone green-to-blue Alclad II Prismatic Scarabeus Paint.
Also got about 40bits painted up for use in various things,13 new objective markers got made and will eventually be shared in my usual manner, used up the last of my useful diameter balsa strips making some shelfs, chairs,a flat crate, bookcases and tables, some of which will also be used in objective markers,
Upgrading my hobby uhh tech guess that's the right word, hit green stuff world with an order for a long overdue double diamond texture roller, more than a few things i could do with that, will take a while to arrive though.

Mosquito B Mk IV.

There was another 2 bombers also but being a dumbass painting at midnight while sleepy and out of willpower to paint, guess what happened, yep i screwed up the pattern, nice colors and pattern, badly executed at a late hour,
,will have to strip and repaint them sometime,Still i hate wasted paint! kinda depressing, working on some battletech mechs now and some objective markers, followed by 9 vehicles.

Failed Camo Pattern.

My Greenstuffworld Double Diamond Texture roller arrived early along with some green stuff, going to make a dozen or more green stuff bits, and 9 new molds! a few nice OOP Parts too,for use in another objective marker project,as well as other as yet unknown things, using new tools, new skills, and new parts, meaning my next battletech batch is on hold, for now.

Some WIP. (Made a new mold batch) Rogue Trader backpack,Imperial Guard Stowage Pack Large,Ork Big Spanner,Ornate holstered laspistol,Dagger,Auspex,Medal,Ork Pouch with Shells Medium, kroot bones accessory.
Also topped up on earlier made bits i'am low on,more hubcaps,an aquila eagle,scarabs,various pouchs,water bottles,holstered pistols,grenades.

Anti Sneaking Surface plates.Double Diamond https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rolling-Pin-DOUBLE-DIAMOND-Texture-Double-Thread-for-Warhammer-bases/271664839263?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649
(Used up the the leftovers from the below bit production to experiment with my new tech, funky huh? how about them lil nuclear radiation warning signs, with my thing for toxic themes they will be very handy i suspect)
Kinda difficult to use at times if i'am honest,if you don't apply enough pressure the pattern loses resolution,if you roll slightly sideways the pattern can impress at an odd angle, meaning lots of resqushing the green stuff to try roll again, using water or oil helps but water seems to help it not stick better, even so sometimes it just decides to lift the green stuff off the surface its on,warping the pattern, seems this tool takes some technique to get a perfect pattern, guess it's going to take practice, outta green stuff for now anyway since i killed 20g's of it in basically a couple of hours.
Was going to use the last of my green stuff to make a large plate/panel but vastly underestimated the amount left,so i made a few smaller panels, should be good for basing, managed to fill a few molds with leftovers scrapped from the setting molds,so its all good.

Various Hobby Updates.
Working With stuff, making green stuff molds another 20+ & bit mass production, and base production as much as i can with 12inches of stuff, getting pretty good at it now anyway,Several sets of objective markers, and another 20+ more sets of unposted objective marker idea's to good to share, along with many small scratch build scatter needed to complete "most" of them.
Will take a few more days while a make massive amounts of bits.

Snazzed up my hobby tech so i thought why not reorganize my supplies and paints, scavenged a old non used spice rack thats now pulling duty as a paint rack, and got myself some essential toothpicks/cocktail sticks, more than a few uses for them, besides need them to make some "things",went to home bargains and grabbed a few nice big organizer box's low quality but perfect for bit storage,
,now i have various new parts expect more dakka more from this dakkanaught.

Did buy a green stuff world bullet&shell mold, along with green stuff,i assumed would work with it,i was wrong, needs milliput or airdrying-clay,and i managed to slightly damage the mold, ahhh the stress's of the hobbyist huh.

After all that will finish up a batch of battletech i put on hold and make a start preparing for this months painting challenge, needing to assemble & prime a full unit of x12 necron warriors,I figure with my style of painting they won't take me long.

Balsa Bits,Tables&Railings.

@EmberlordofFire8.
Kinda hard to use but i'am getting used to it after about a dozen uses, even so still mess up the pattern now and then, basically means lots of resqishing the green stuff,
But other than that i recommend it already made an objective marker with it,great for basing, and i have seen it used on lots of ork conversions, plus there are several styles of roller, they are a bit expensive but also a high quality item.

x3 Barracks Buildings "Daemonscape" (Before&After) & Green Stuff.
Done with green stuff bit production, made a good 25 new molds a few doubles due to part coolness, plus a mass of new and shiny OOP bits, many of which will be used in objective markers, new bits below.
Also spent a day making tiny scatter tables, jewelry, some railings, more mines, shells, and weapon parts some hardcore self sourced improvisation needed on them all i tell ye,as well in the process of making markers and built another 5,mainly 40mm&cavalry base versions, going to quickly mass produce x10 industrial themed 25mm bases for which i have plans, then quickly slide on over to my still unfinished batch of battletech.

Barracks. "Daemonscape" Always take proof pics if i can nice for comparing before&afters.

Green Stuff Bits.(4) not descibing which bit is called what,as most dakkanaughts know there stuff.

Next batch of Daemonscape Buildings to come with general purpose set of five,2 small 2medium and a garage/shed,
and yes i have got a liking for these so expect to see a few more here and there mixed in among my 40k,battletech,ww2-6mm.

Also made another half dozen objective markers, and no i'am not telling anyone what they are,but trust me they are nicely different to my usual,Warhammer, and even Orks will get some love.

Battletech Below.
x2 Battletech Mechs, was going to be a bunch of vehicles too but its turned into a grind if i'am honest, and it's been a busy month with next being even more so as such i have been cramming in hobby time, also much time was killed making set after set of objective markers some real nice ones though,
So the battletech vehicles are on hold,Going to rush these dozen necron warriors now, hopefully i finish in time to enter them in the painting challenge if i do with some time to spare, then i will paint the battletech vehicles, always wanted some of them glowy gunned necron buggers to display.

Commando Mech.(Quite nice for the little mech that it is,painted in the same pattern as the rommel heavy tank)

Hellhound Mech.(It's a bigone alrighty weighty too,and my biggest mech yet,the hellhound/leader of the terrorists lance definitely looks fearsome)

Nice sharp work on these mechs. The Hellhound does look pretty gangsta.

Also, I really like that yellow scarab. Not sure how good a whole cron army would look to match but the scarab is nice.

Thanks, that will be all the mechs for a while for me now, only vehicles left a good few though.

The Funky looking Scarabs are Captured and reprogrammed by crazed mechboys into "Ork Racing Scarabs" one of 4 which is why the tiny numbers they are objective markers,
And function as attack squigs and unusual sidekicks for my orks well that was the idea anyway, basically ork wacky races racers.

Getting a bit tired of futuristic stuff,so will be mixing it up yet again with lord of the rings battle games in middle earth,old-ish but i remember it being fun,
so i rounded up a bunch of the old issue on ebay at reasonable prices along with sprues, probably add to them if i get into it to any degree, what i have currently below.
Not sure what i will start with or when so don't ask.

Issues 1,2,3,4,5,6,10,12,21,28,31,37.

x24 Moria Goblins,2 sprues.(x8 Bow,x8 Spear,x8 Sword&Shields)

x24 Last Alliance Elfs&Men,2 Sprues.(x8 Bow,x8 Spear,x8 Sword&Shields)

x5 Uruk Hai Siege Assault Team,1 Sprue.(x1 Beserker,x4 Ladder Bearers,x2 Ladders,x1 Bomb)

x10 Fighting Uruk Hai,1 Sprue.(x5 Pikes,x5 Swords&Shields)

x1 Aragorn.

x1 Gandalf the Gray.

x1 Frodo.

x1 Gimli.
x1 Haldir.

x1 Ringwraith Nazgul.

Actually have some experience painting LOTR minis,i said some i mean alot, back when it was out i had the first issue collecting up to about 30,which is where i drifted,
and sold them all, most were or would be a 3 or less on the painting skill level, besides the selling of them got me into 40k with a battleforce some rules lots of paint and hobby materials some of which i still have like my clippers and static grass of which i have had many many years, never use much clearly,I Will still be painting 40k here and there, slowly growing my armys a chunk at a time, will probably rotate as usual though,as for battletech & 6mm soon as i'am done with the next couple of groups they will be taking a rest for a while,as will me making objective markers as i made a huge amount, and have plenty to keep the thread alive with so there's no pressing need to for a many MANY months,
Besides in order to complete my next dozen sets,i both need to make 1000s more green stuff bits yesh thousands,as well as paint a fistful of plastic&resin bits that are also needed to complete them,so i'am in no rush it's alot of effort and thought required after all.

Ahh Necron Lovelyness Full Unit of Warriors below, easy to paint but kinda fragile more so than they look heads kept breaking off nothing major though, they are my first necron warriors too,it's a learning experience,Proud of how they came out will be keeping them the same color scheme with any future necrons, also when i completed them me being me,they looked lonely so i built a nice marker for them to guard,Going to paint some battletech vehicles next with a couple of tanks trucks jeeps and APC's,and probably something easy for next month to go with them like my latest set of daemonscape buildings.

LOTR eh? Wow. Didn't see that coming.

I'm a Massive Tolkien geek but I never really got into the LOTR games. Got the original hardback LOTR game rulebook somewhere. The first one, the skirmish game before it went all 5 armies. Also got a Moria scenario book maybe from a box set but I never played it or really had any one else interested in playing it. I have a collection of the fellowship that I never finished painting, though I like the miniatures a lot. They're very fine detail sculpts, really beautiful.

Looking forward to seeing your work on some of these soon.

Made Several new Green Stuff Molds, and made a bunch of new bits, guessing by how much green stuff i have left, will max out at around 500 bits maybe more,
alot of the new ones are quite large like the ones below, the massive book & combat shield use quite a bit of green stuff,so will only be making a few of the larger bits less than 10,
Taking a break now though and soon will be getting on with painting them battletech vehicles along with undercoat the deamonscape buildings, going to try get them both done early before Christmas kicks in,
even then after it's over with will be a while before i get the green stuff before&after pictures done, also will be double my usual amount of bits taking longer to paint.

11 New Green stuff Molds.(5)(Large book,Combat shield,Autocannon drum half,OOP laspistol,Bullet belt,Space Marine Backpack,250lb Bombs,Tau Backpack,Tau Photon Grenades,left&right vehicle lights)

Also have a new battletech piece that's somewhat interesting,A Long Tom Artillery Cannon, its in two halfs the main unit and the ammo carriage,
it's one big gun alright weighty too.

Big post as usual,9 Battletech Vehicles And 5 Buildings A bunch of grav jeeps,Some Tanks APC's and Trucks, not very bright the standard military green theme but it is realistic and hi tech looking,The theme goes with my Pursuit Lance mechs nicely,
i'am taking a painting break now i'am done with this months challenge entry, likely get back to producing green stuff bits alot of them going to be a hell of a cleanup job with the knife i tell you, will look impressive when they are layed out though gonna be alot.

x2 Marksman AT Tanks.(they look pretty cool i gotta say, major mecha/gundam vibe with these things, look like they would be badass mech killers too)

x2 Tracked APC's.

x2 Scamm Heavy Trucks.

x3 Grav Jeeps.

"Bonus" Striker Lance.(all my metal mechs so far)

Daemonscape General Purpose Buildings.

Nice little buildings they be,will be getting another 3 or more sets next year, some roads/highways and some skyscrapers along with hardened military hangers & bunkers,
When i get back to it Next battletech i be painting will be support based weapons a missile platform a really big gun and some missile tanks maybe a helicopter.

It's been a long time since i have posted as i have been busy with many things, both hobby and non hobby,Biggest Mass Production of Green Stuff Bits to date, going to take alot of painting all them bits probably take better part of an 2 days,or several painting sessions.
Safe to say that is one large upgrade on bit uniqueness and variety, many are large bits too, alot of work but it would cost a stupid amount of money for the amount of bits i use,
each maxing out at about £1 per for most of the bits, meaning i would need about £150+ on bits alone to do it the common way with GW made resin parts, but the way i paint them its barely noticeable if at all, take it from me it was hard work this time,so much so several blisters formed healed and reformed during the many hours of cleaning up the edges of the bits.

A huge array of.
camo rolls,combat shields,7+ Types of pouches,bullets,daggers,swords,sword racks,2 types of lasgun,3 types of laspistol,2 Types of Holstered Boltpistols,2 types of slugthrower,protective gear/gas masks,water bottles,2 Types of Bomb 250lb/100lb,3 Types of backpack/powerpack,boltgun magazines,keys,hammers,jewelry/medals,talismans/tribal,3 Types of Grenades,Autocannon Drum halfs,vehicle stowage packs,vehicle lights,2 Types of aqulia eagles,Ork Bike Hubcaps,Auspex Scanners,Sacks,Lasgun Powerpacks,Large Books,Scrolls,Mortar Bases,Necron Scarabs,Tribal Backpacks,Ork Big Spanners.

Green Stuff Bits (5)

Daemonscape Outpost Buildings.(have enough for a small town after these are painted)

More Battletech Vehicles.
Both are nice models the land barge is 5cm long and quite weighty armed with a large laser, the grav scouts are armed versions of the light scouts and look nicely detailed for such small things.

Land Barge.

Grav Scouts.

Also picked up some bolt action, alternate reality world war 2 konflikt 47,its got mutants, fricken nazi zombies, warewolfs lol, power armored mericans, and a bunch of other awesome stuff,
needless to say upon discovery of the expensive but all so cool minis in the starter set,i felt i had no choice for it was like a bigass magnet invisibly sucking me in,not sure when i will get to paint them,
but even so it was just too tempting, will have to watch a bunch of bolt action how to tutorials first me thinks,so i can pick nice and realistic paint scheme, them nazi totenkorps though! are some damn cool models as is the spider mech&tank.

Have to update the OP soon too, nearly be a new year and new project goals need be set.
Made a couple of somewhat large hex based objective marker sets, and another 40k marker set plus an odd extra.
Going to get another 20 or so bits painted next, resin bits though just something small to occupy the rest of the month.

Lord of the Rings Heros.
Something a bit different from my usual, gotta say had fun painting these and looking forward to painting more LOTR characters in the future,
A nice start to the year for sure! next on the cards a mass more bits and maybe the next set of epic scale buildings if there's time left on the month,I intend on being busy so less hobby time for a month or two most likely,Gonna try cram in a few midnight painting sessions though,so i can still keep some momentum.

Gandalf The Gray.(Fellowship)
Armed with a staff of power & glamdring, this is the version where he faces the balrog in moria you know the now iconic "you shall not pass" scene, that's this gandalf.

Aragorn.(Two Towers)
Armed and armored with a dagger, chain mail from the armory at helms deep, and a two handed sword.

Frodo Baggins.(Fellowship)
Armed and armored with a mythril shirt & stinger [sword] from rivendell, and the one ring.

Tamiya German Fuel Barrels & Jerry Cans set.
(added to my scatter pile,i used my last set on a fuel cache objective marker set, these are the replacements)

Sandbags Set.(painted ages ago, only just taken pictures, but better late than never, more stuff in my scatter collection)

Daemonscape Outpost Buildings.
Painted the bunker looking one in classic military olive drab scheme, since it looks right,
Noticed some damage to the rectangular buildings base, dunno when or where or how that happened but whatever, gave it a trim to make it look less broken,
It's less noticeable but whatever stuff happens, other things await painting, got a nice size collection of epic scale buildings now, doubt i will be getting any more for a some time though,i have more than enough models to paint anyway.

Took some late night painting them things,as i'am busy getting some flight hours in with a quadcopter before it warms up enough for outdoor use, grass is always icey or dewy lately,
And playing some old video games an hour here and there too,As for whats next a batch of battletech vehicles i reckon,
After that going to make a start painting them green stuff bits, that's gonna be laborious probably take them on in a few painting sessions, since there are so many.

Upgraded my Paint With some Dakka Favorites,I'am slowly phasing out using only GW paints,
with the aim of slightly upping the quality of my paintjobs, while bringing some color to what i paint,Not that i can't paint colorful models,i'am just better at dull,
post apocalyptic or industrial wasteland style of painting, tons of metallics rusts/dirt,or standard grays&greens in military fashion,Them WW2 paints are for my konflict 47"
Forked out quite a bit for that box, more realistic water effects as i make cool looking sets with the stuff, and a couple more i wanted to add to the collection so had to get more.

Anyway picture below, any advice on painting WW2 Tanks and Bolt Action stuff would be helpful but not essential,I would&will find a nice scheme for them regardless.

Got a nice batch of Battletech Vehicles Painted, took longer than expected due to being busy making markers and a bunch of other stuff
,Painting balsa wood crates in different colors and shapes some small pallets and rusty pipes, got 2 respectable size battletech armys formed could do with a couple more big vehicles though,
Then they will be showcase worthy which i will do next month, intend on painting some battletech in the painting challenge, when i eventually stop making objective markers,
a few more sets to make before i'am done,i will finish that up early next year, but i will still add to my collection every now and then also in another showcase,i will concentrate more on actual models, alot of real nice things to pick from.

Medium Tanks with Missile Launchers.(futuristic looking huh?)

Grav Scouts.(them pods on the back make them look like star wars speeders, not a bad thing)

Grav Jeeps.(more itty bitty tiny weeny little jeeps, this time with a scale shot, you could fit 2 on a penny!)

and see no change in the coming future, hopefully will get my challenge entry done in time as i'am painting some green stuff bits, you know that super size batch from a while back,
going to take more than a few sessions to get them all done, anyway some pics below.

Green Stuff Bits,Before&After.(7)

Green Stuff Bits,Before&After.(8)

Green Stuff Bits,Before&After.(9)

Double Diamond Texture Roller,Basing Materials.(metal anti sneaking plate with radiation warning signs)
I will likely turn a few of these sections into primitive walls and barricades to use as scatter in key item type objective markers, you know like the last scanner for miles,
or something more simple such as a hidden ammo/fuel/item caches/stash's.

Green Stuff,Double Diamond Plating.(1)

Been Quite some time since i have posted, kinda burned out from making insane amounts of objective markers, many many new ones that were made as the idea's came to me,
Anyway not sure what's next as i have painted nearly all the green stuff bits, and used 90% of them, likely paint a few squads next i suspect, need a break from markers have enough to post for a huge amount of time so it makes sense to get some models shiny,Likely will make a batch more green stuff bits later in the year,i do have another 20 or so large bits to take molds of.

Long Tom Artillery Cannon & Ammo Carriage.(Fires Cluster Bombs,Nukes,High Caliber Shells,Two Part Vehicle)

Wow.. what a fantastic hobby blog. Don't know where to start really!

Great variety of stuff here, you certainly have a wide range of interests!

Good to see some closeups of those Daemonscape buildings as was thinking of getting some of those myself.
