I love the work. I don't care for the base on the Dreadnaught. It looks underwhelming compared to the others. Great work overall though.

Post by: sockwithaticket
Simply superlative paintwork. The black on the Deathwatch marines is so rich and the green gun-casings, while an atypical choice, work really.
The Commissar is perhaps my favourite model here, he looks so grizzled.
Not a huge fan of the Dreadnought's pose or the random head on the base, but undeniably very well painted.

Astoundingly good work! this kind of painting is certainly top tier and perfectly executed to the point I almost want to hang up my brush! I can paint fast but I'll never get to that level it's actually beautiful. work of art.
45504
Post by: Soul Samurai
They look fantastic. I love the way several of them are stepping off sunken enemy heads!
My only mild criticism is that, in the photos at least, the red on the base tops can feel a bit flat in places; I think the problem is related to the fact that the OSL highlights are actually brighter in some places than the "glowing" lava that is supposed to be the light source.

Everything you've done since my last comment is, as to be expected, phenomenal. I love your color choices on Slenderman. Very eerie contrast between the alien fleshtones of the head and tentacles and the grounded, bright colors of his costume. Very off-putting and eerie. Perfectly fitting!

Wow! feth me that's some high grade work. Really like the bases. I will need to check out your FB page when im on my home PC for any useful tutorials. I would love to know how you did the bases.
I'm very happy to have found this thread, overflowing with talent.
KD miniatures are so freaky lol. The pregnant warrior is so bizarre I love it.

My reactions went something like this:
First model: "Excellent work, great use of a muted colour palette."
Second model: "What a strange diorama, I don't know what's going on, but those colours and textures really draw eye in."
Third model: "OHGODOHGODOHGOD WHAT THE HELL IS THAT WHY DOES SUCH A THING EXIST NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Why do you do this to me Manu? You lure me in with your beautiful brushwork then you scar my brain with the horrific nightmares that said brushwork brings to life! And I keep falling for it! I blame your painting skills, they're just too good, even when I'm looking at a model that's making my skin crawl I still can't stop admiring the skill behind it.

Sorry, the choice of pictures was random (almost - I posted what was finished from the smallest to biggest mini).
Kingdom Death minis are a little creepy, but I paint KD:M commissions constantly so I gained some invulnerability to the gruesome/nudity themes. I'll try to pay more attention to what I post in the future.

I was just kidding mate, your work is amazing and I really enjoy this thread - even the freaky KD stuff!
It's interesting to me that in your Lorgar, despite how ornate and detailed his armour is, it's the plain human face that draws the attention through it's realistic tones and shading. Very nice work!
