Spikey bits has a page up that they will be updating as things unfold. So far nothing has been shown
They will likely just describe in written form what is being shown, not sure if people can take photos in the seminar. But the community site will be updated when the seminar is over with pics.
It's as if they catch up, then slow down. This is an event that should be live streamed. Why on earth can't this company ever get into the 21st century?!
Togusa wrote: It's as if they catch up, then slow down. This is an event that should be live streamed. Why on earth can't this company ever get into the 21st century?!
They are probably trying to be all exclusive for the people who cared to show up (make em feel special).

They wanted to make it so that people actually present at the event get to see things as part of the seminar.
The stuff is supposed to go up afterwards, as in tonight.

I mean, it’s not unusual.
Like most panels and Cons, it’s exclusive for the people going.
The info is revealed after, but the goodness of being in the panel is unique for those attending.

I mean it has been pretty gakky for paying event goers that WH Community has been publishing release articles before the events even get started or before they are over.
Really disappointed, they promised to show of something big and they didn't really show much of anything new and I sat up quite late just for this...small loss though.

Agreed.
No primarchs, no GSC news, nothing that interested me in even the slightest.
But, good to see orks are getting some love. Enjoy ork players!
"The Blackstone Fortress will have NEW CHAOS MARINES Vs Rogue traders (Think silver tower level models but 40k) and then they will be releasing them as multipart later, and the chaos release for next year involving Khorne and Slannesh has models for both systems."
From vince the khorne and slaanesh box will have new models.
Yeah the coolest thing shown for me was the two helmeted sisters heads, especially with the visor up. The top middle head is meh though, not terrible...the variety is good. The one with the eye patch would be my 2nd or third favorite.
40k quest sounds awesome, but my immediate concern was what characters players would get and my brain went immediately to marines. Hopefully it doesn't end up being bland as hell.
I hope the Sisters Superior can take power-rulers when the new codex drops to punish wayward heretics and novitiates for their transgressions.
But I like these heads. Good to see the dude who cuts everyone's hair has learned a new style beyond just bobs. Some variety and non-awful looking female head sculpts will be a welcome change on the table
The Sisters heads aren't for 40k? Along with Blackstone, they were the biggest news.
The sisters heads are just 3d previews of something coming next year. So ho hum. Blackstone fortress is just a name, we already knew there was a game coming featuring a Rogue Trader. Its neat they gave it a name other than Rogue Trader. But there was no actual news. I guess tiny little tidbits get some people excited. I'll get excited when I see some models I like.
SickSix wrote: As a 40k player, I heard sad trombone music as I read the WH Community article.
Yeah, ork vehicles finally moving into the 21st century, slaanesh daemon reboot and 40K warhammer quest is definitely a whole lot of nothing. (plus the little things like updates on sisters and realizing that people actually want transfer sheets)
Seriously, though, the 40k stuff is far more interesting than rehashing the sigmar starter box for shadespire, or a diorama sculpt for LotR.
Curtesy of Vince from warhammer weekly who was at the seminar. The realm of chaos thing is a new box set which is useable for both systems. It will contain multiple new sculpts for both Khorne and Slaanesh. It is coming out “sooner than you think” . So will probably come out in 2018.
40k quest will have new chaos marines, new ratling snipers and many one off sculpts that have been in the lore but never had minis before .
That all sounds pretty exciting to me.
Edit Pipin can be removed from shadowfax and set up seperately.
New production facility will be completed in 2019.

The blackstone fortress is not the rogue trader kill team box. Supposedly it'll have new chaos marines.

We now know there are two games featuring Rogue Traders actually, the Kill Team Rogue Trader in September, Blackstone Fortress...sometime later?

No, not Ratlings! I already ordered all my bits for my conversions! Now I’ll be tempted to use the official models and these bits will sit idle forever!

I will admit that I am... for the most part reasonably happy that a few other factions are getting new stuff! Yay for CSM and the Orks... but am a bit miffed by the lack of any mention of Eldar stuff... like at all. I suppose the existence of artwork for Vect should tide me over...

Not a fan as I think the "haircut" is part of the uniform. Where were the non-aweful looking female head sculpts.

I'm certainly hoping they have 'additional character' options later for more than the Rogue Traders, maybe add in some Marines and such so friends can bring over their favorite Kill-Team guy and join in the fun of stalking the corridors!
Whoo! Warhammer quest was a pretty big hit, and a 40k version seems pretty good as well.
Lots of good stuff here that I certainly enjoy that's for sure. New Shadespire season with the addition of magic and the like should help shake things up.

Coming. By your logic, since we already know its coming, they shouldn't show us anything.
Titanicus Xenos factions?
Way too early. That just released and they're having stock issues with the basic kits. And you're asking for expansion stuff already, when the first wave stuff (warhounds and reavers) isn't even out yet?
Ridiculous.
Eldar Pastic stuff?
Is there anything substantial to this beyond folks' imagination?

Welcome to marketing. The show more as the release dates get closer. Hence showing pictures of the ork game, rather than just a few models.
Yes, this is largely just teasers. It was a seminar at a random games con- I honestly have no idea what you expected, but I'm glad to see more than the same old stuff that I haven't been buying.

Well sisters was just renders, and everything you mentioned aside from orks was just an announcement. Nothing shown, thus nothing to get excited for except for what is basically an idea at this time. They talked this up but had little to actually show. The lack of even an artwork of Delaque just sours things even further. They previewed some Cawdor artwork not too long after Van Saar was out, months before the gang even released.

Lots of people want primarchs my man. Lots, just spend a day on any of GW's social media and 1 out of every 3 comments is either about russ, vulkan or fulgrim.
Eldar Plastics are a dream yes. I never claimed they were a guarantee. Given that GW said this would be a "big" reveal, this is an example of an out of left field "big" reveal. Same thing for the Xenos titanicus issue.
The bigger reveal by the way of the ork stuff isn't bad at all. I expected that, so I can be forgiving with relations to it. But come on. Is Shadespire popular? I've never seen anyone in my local community even mention it, our store doesn't even stock it. If it is selling, good! But, it just didn't mean anything to me.
Respectfully then, no actual evidence. If it was true, it would have been mentioned in the community site. There isn't even any articles about this rumor on any of the click-bait sites.
I'm just picturing this massive hive city, and up on the wall are some Deathwatch marines and an Inquisitor, looking down at the surface of Vigilus and seeing Orks LARPing Mad Max.
MARINE: "So... they're just driving around in circles really fast."
INQUISITOR: "Yep."
MARINE: "And they're shooting at each other."
INQUISITOR: "Uh-huh."
MARINE: "Should we even-"
INQUISITOR: "No, no. Just... this is fine."
MARINE: "All right, we'll just- HOLY EMPEROR DID YOU JUST SEE THAT?!?! HAHAHA! The grot just- and the engine- WHOA! THIS IS AWESOME!"
Man, if Blackstone is truly a coop game, and not 2-4 players plus "game master" I will be hyped. Even better if it allows for both play styles - playing against the game, or playing against the gm. Most of my favorite board games anymore are more focused on coop and trying to beat the odds with some friends over competing with each other.
I just find it hilarious that it's always Ork, Sisters and Slaanesh getting left in the dust so the one time there's an event and it features ALL THREE you get people going "waahhh, where my Primarchs at?"
Why does this happen every time? Just because people are expecting something specific (with no reason to expect it, most of the time) and then it isn’t shown, doesn’t mean nothing has been shown. There’s a hell of a lot here, especially considering we’ve had quite a few preview events recently. There’s a lot more than I expected. If you aren’t interested in half the games GW make, any preview event is going to have less to offer you.

Likewise. Co-Op is so much more fun. And half the time it's not really a 'GM', it's just a dude pushing bad guy models and rolling their dice following a script.

I mean.. lets be fair. Eldar are not exactly showered with gifts either. I mean good for all three, especially Slaanesh as people were worried about Slaanesh being killed off/reduced.

Some of us expect some level of consistency. Compare the last two events, to the May Warhammer Fest reveals, or to those from LVO/Adepticon.
And, I agree. There are always going to be things that people do and don't care about, for example, I give all of nothing about webcomics. So, why this was something that had to be announced at a preview event, where people were expecting codexes, models, and so on is beyond me.
Nostromodamus wrote: I just find it hilarious that it's always Ork, Sisters and Slaanesh getting left in the dust so the one time there's an event and it features ALL THREE you get people going "waahhh, where my Primarchs at?"
I for one an going to be counting my pennies and hoping the releases are spread out enough. I now have not one, but TWO Rogue Trader themed games coming out, Sisters are getting closer, Slaanesh is my favorite Chaos God (here's hoping Emperor's Children follow the daemons down the line), and I've always been somewhat interested in Orks (just not enough to collect a full army of them, though I have a small smattering of units laying around).
Long story short, I am going to have to be very careful with my purchases over the next few months (and hold off for ebay sales for a discount on discounted prices).

.
From what I was told, no, no artwork shown, but was briefly mentioned. Keeping my fingers crossed here. This is one model that NEEDS to come back to the game.
I am surprised at the attitudes here. Vince from Warhammer weekly is one of the most reputable people in the warhammer community. He is not just some guy. He has done break downs of many of these preview events and he has never said something that did not turn out to be true.
New chaos marines ARE coming. This has been something forum members have been asking for for ages. New Slaanesh demon sculpts and new Khorne demons ARE coming. We can finally put to bed the rediculous rumour that GW would Squat Slaanesh.
Orks are getting what looks like the single biggest release of the year with 4 vehicles already shown and more confirmed.
GW is doing open public playtesting for a new codex.
40k Quest with a whole bunch of unique sculpts is coming.
This is all big news.
At warhammer fest GW showed off the majority of the nighthaunt and Stormcast range. So even though the last of those models only came out a couple of weeks ago, aos players feel like the haven't had any news for ages. This is the danger of showing off stuff too early.
They also had their plans for Rogue Trader spoiled by the early leak. So when they showed it off officially at warhammer fest Europe it did not create much excitement.
Also GW are doing many preview events now. This was the third one in 3 weeks.
GW have the 40k open day and Blood and glory in November. There will be previews at both events. I also think there is one more event in October when they did a preview last year.
We will see more ork and more Shadespire stuff throughout October.
I just find it hilarious that it's always Ork, Sisters and Slaanesh getting left in the dust so the one time there's an event and it features ALL THREE you get people going "waahhh, where my Primarchs at?"
Oh I quite like the Speed Freaks models. But they are not big news. They were big news a couple weeks ago when they were revealed. The Sisters heads are more 3d previews ho hum. If plastic Sisters were releasing and they had photos of models, that would be big news. 3d previews, not so much. Slaanesh demons are not even either of the above, just some words, these are coming, eventually. Its not the factions that are the issue, its the lack of any actual news. Drop some pictures of Sisters models, and Slaaneshi demons, and all of a sudden its big news.
Chikout wrote: GW have the 40k open day and Blood and glory in November. There will be previews at both events. I also think there is one more event in October when they did a preview last year.
They did a preview at Spiel last year. That should be another preview in late October. (25th and 26th)

The tent for GW customers has grown big. Too each their own.
40k is unplayable garbage right now, can skip right pass that.
Shadespire is the best game GW has released so far, eager to see what the next set brings (though booo! more stormcast of course)
I'm not sure if it is to be believed but the Spikeybits synopsis of the Q&A said that GW was going to update the Fortifications and terrain rules for 40k. That would make me happy (assuming they do a good job).

We did not know 3 non-speed freak ork releases are coming. Shadespire has fan ase and LOTR has also loyal fanbase which is why it's being pushed again.
Eldar plastic stuff ain't coming quickly, titanicus isn't getting xenos for minimum year, likely 2. And less sooner more primarch appear to 40k the better.

It happens because they had a preview seminar without any previews. It's just a bunch of teaser trailers. Personally I can't wait for Blackstone Fortress but how about an actual preview? One model, maybe one from each side but instead we get a voiced version of the pic they put up on fb.

Well said. There is a lot of good news here for WH40k, but some people seem to take it personally when they don't get what they want.

Lots of people want primarchs my man. Lots, just spend a day on any of GW's social media and 1 out of every 3 comments is either about russ, vulkan or fulgrim.
And lots of people want shadespire and LOTR.
Duh. To satisfy everybody they would have to announce ridiculous amount of stuff. What? You want every release for next 5 year already leaked? Would be boring 5 years with no new news to wait for.

Again not at all.
We got magnus Christmas of 2016, with the reveal happening in October 2016. Rowboat came from LVO 2017, and Morty came from Adepticon 2017. Since then, there has been zero primarch news in 40K. 17 months of silence despite the new lore mentioning heavily both Lorgar and Fulgrim.
It's possible this news will come in October, or November. But I was honestly expecting it much sooner.
Nothing of interest for me beyond the WHQ: Blackstone Fortress...but that's a mixed bag for me. As an arden old-school WHQ guy I really couldn't stand Silver Tower or the other watered down AoS release.
I'd love to see it given far more depth and work, but I suspect it'll be a rehash of the AoS model for the game mechanics, so I'm probably out on that too (unless it has some killer models).
I could gripe about nothing of interest for Eldar, but I've been playing Eldar since the mid-90's...I know better than to expect anything, ever, particularly without tons of hints from GW. I've finally reached the point where I don't even care anymore. I don't think any Eldar player should ever get their hopes up that there will be a surprise Eldar kit launch (and no, Ynnari doesn't count - that was a huge waste of our one shot...so...that's probably it for a long time).
