Have a look at those dice! If they don't look the most awesome thing ever!
But they look super awkward and nearly unrollable....
Also, SQUIGS!

My GF plays goblins in kings of war and blood bowl using GW models. This new release will probably add to that collection (and we do play AOS in the fall league/campaign so they will be broken out later in 2019 for that)

Yea I'm definitely making a pure squig army now thats for sure.
The only problem is I can't do the black and yellow color scheme as

Hopefully the book has some cool alternate clan ideas.

I quite like these. They fit with the same old school look as the originals but will have the advantage of being in plastic. Are these going to be back to the same scale as the old plastic Night Goblins box set, or the tiny size of those that came with the Skull pass starter?
The only thing I'm still not fond of is GWs overuse of making models look like they're flying or jumping in the air by using whispy thin tendrils. Not so good for transporting or fitting in cases.
I love that cave, but dread to see a price.

Any word yet on the dice being limited atall?
I usually just stick to normal dice and avoid painfully expensive ones, but these look too good to pass up.
If they are limited though, bad times.
The skaven warpstone dice were bad enough.
Either way, I'm gonna throw a couple of armies on eBay for funds.

Well, the WH community mentioned there would be more models coming in the new year. Most people guessed mangler squigs and new trolls, which all look fantastic. I'm a bit more interested in that sneaky guy in the troll pic.
When all is said and done, this will be one of the biggest armies in AOS, since it will include the spiderfang grots as well as all the troggoths. I think only Stormcast will be bigger, and even then it will be pretty close.

No real clue yet beyond likely the idea of the Troggoths liking the Gobbos more than they like the Orcs.
Loving the lore on the Dankhold Troggoths:
Antisocial and reclusive, these behemoths dwell in the darkest… well, dankholds, where they slumber away the decades, awakening only to feast on the magical fungi that grow upon the realmstone deposits in the roots of the Mortal Realms. Such raw magic doesn’t kill the Dankhold Troggoths as it would lesser creatures, but instead mutates them into the vast, lumbering monsters you see here. This gigantic plastic kit comes loaded with spare bits, enabling you to make a boulder club-wielding Dankhold Troggoth with a variety of alternatives. We’ll be showing you each in detail in the near furture.

I really like this release as well. It's a good evolution from the old WHFB army into a very solid battletome. Not by splitting things into useless subfactions, but by combining them into a coherent force with solid visual tie-ins.
Endless spells and terrain are a given now, but it really adds a neat special flavor to new armies.

Seriously, I would have never thought that an army of Warhammer goblin to be really interesting, but I really, really like those guys. In my opinion, them and the Idoneth Deepkin are the nicest range so far in the Age of Sigmar line. Now, I just need some good old knight models to be fully statisfied with the range.
I love the addition of an army specific terrain piece. While I still largely play 8th edition Fantasy, I still bought the herdstone for my beastmen. These are very nice addition!

I was counting and looks like I have 10 armies throughout 40k and AoS now. Not even close to done on my Beasts of Chaos, but crap! Now these guys come out and make the Beasts look boring. I think I would also enjoy the Troggoths as they're lower model count and I like caves. The squig-boingers supposedly do mortal wounds on the charge though, so an army of those guys might be in order too. I think getting the tome is warranted for investigation first. Then the Endless Spells for pure fun on shelf display. Then later, maybe, models. I know I'm not getting into Slaanesh, so that's a relief.

Or
Relevent quote:
The timeline section of the book has some really cool and fun snippets of story. Everything is covered from the origins of the Moonclan and Spiderfang, through the Age of Chaos, and into the Soul Wars. One of my favorite stories is of a Kharadron Overlord fleet which is overrun by the Gloomspite hordes when they attempt to find plunder amongst their ancestral Karak. The grots then fly this hijacked fleet back to the skyport of Barak-Khazzar, crashing the ships into the port and offloading the Gloomspite hordes into the streets. The Kharadron begin to fight back, but are overrun once a fleet of Grotbag Scuttlers arrive to assist their Gloomspite cousins. The skyport is now named Da Moon City and is now a floating Gloomspite fortress. I also like that the Grotbag Scuttlers are mentioned again, twice actually.

What I like about the new lore:
- Loon asylum is dark, horribly dark background. Insane wizards turning into mushrooms with mouths.
- God - spider and her brood that defies Nagash in their own way.
- The rats tried to blow up da bad moon.

There is a reference to Skarsnik in the lore too.
The Bad Moon has a satelite that erractically orbits it, and one of the legends is that its “a warlord that conquered eight mountain peaks” and was blessed to accompany the moon on its rampages through all time.

Looking at the online warscrolls, neither the Fellwater or Rockgut Troggoths have the MONSTER keyword either (although they are smaller than the Dankhold).

Just put together the first of my new GSG sets, the fungus fanatics. There’s a squig skeleton - that’s getting reserved to be a Bonerattle familiar. I got two sets’ worth of the 7ed gobbos and was not expecting a massive release wave for them after the Fungoid shaman dropped last year!
Also finishing rebasing and repainting my Fellwater Troggoths up with my stone trolls to follow, I picked up Throgg when he went made to order and he’ll be my Troggboss. Small for it, but I’ll put him on a tall base. Definitely want to add the Troggoth Hag and cast them as Grendel & Aglæca leading their tribe
I don’t actually play much AoS, but the main thing that put me off was fielding my Night Goblins and (1) characters getting shot up very quickly, and (2) fanatics seeming to serve no purpose other than easy roadkill. The core and unit rules have largely mitigated this and I’m going to give it a try. I’m prepared for things to be very different to my old method... I used to take loads of unreliable units and write off everything that fell over or bickered and focus on getting things done with the ones that reached the enemy, it seems the GSG game is more about stacking buffs? Interesting.
Main use I’ll be getting out of them will be Warhammer Quest, though. I’ve got a scenario written for my friends’ heroes, going to DM it soon and start a blog. It’s a road test for some homebrew rules for watery dungeons; Fellwater Troggoths will be dopey and passive on land, but get in water in them and it’ll be like fighting a Great White Shark crossed with a Crocodile
...in the entrance of the dungeon will be the Fanatic who’s puking his guts up

Something that surprised me was that Gitmob Grots were mentioned and prominently enough to say that they are definitely not being squatted. There was a clear reference to three grot factions: gloomspite, grotbag scuttlers, and gitmobs. Gitmobs were referenced as being based out of the realm of light, preferring to ride around on open plains. So implied cavalry/chariot focus there.

I always liked the 'scrappy wood construction' look of various goblin stuffs (the metal gnoblar scraplauncher is among my favorite miniatures ever), I would jump on an army of that immediately. Well, that's good news. I'm still of the opinion that we're unlikely to see any factions fully "squatted" without good reason.

Same boat, but Gitmobs were my one exception given they have afaik the most dated line of miniatures across any faction, and a lot of those miniatures are metal, and a lot of those miniatures simply look so bad they could not be reboxed (as opposed to chaos warriors for example).

The Doom Diver was a Gitmob Grots unit. The Gloomspite Gitz battletome only covers the Moonclan and Spiderfang Grots. Seeing the Doom Diver in the battletome wasn't really a realistic expectation.
