Hit me with your favourite Giant minis, folks! Especially anything with a Norse/viking aesthetic, or with unusual weapons or other unique elements. I've got the Frost Giants from Archvillain Games, a skeleton giant from Cursed Forge and a zombie giant from RM Printable, but that's somehow not quite enough! Also looking for Giant-adjacent stuff like trolls, ogres, half-giants ect.

Titan Forge had a norse themed patreon earlier this year. It had a giant (one on the right), as well as a boat and a building. I think there was also a troll in it too.
The other one in the picture I think I found on thingiverse.

My current white whale is a good set of modular desiccated undead draugr or revenants. Like, beef jerky style undead, along the lines of Skyrim Draugr.
I've looked hard at Asgard Rising's draugr sets, but they're more akin to viking skeletons than what I'm looking for.

Ah yes, I'd forgotten the Titan Forge one... which is real dumb, as I own that set and even part-printed that exact model on my Ender aaages ago now I think of it. The other looks good though, I shall have to try and track that down.

Here is one I got that made a super great ogre: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/txarlifactory/northern-ogres-stl-files?ref=discovery&term=ogres
The KS is over but you can still download the free tribe ogre towards the bottom of the page - the entire line is superb! I printed the sample giant-sized on my Saturn and came out great.

Reddogminis.com has some other Tau stuff. They have a patreon too, only $10 a month for each of the three options (Tau, Black Templar’s and his own Mecha Front game). I backed his mecha Front minis years ago, great models and castings.
This months Tau is for skyhammer turrets I believe.

Here's one of two that Ghamak has up on MyMiniFactory:
https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-ogre-giant-2-persian-support-ready-192020
These were part of his fantasy Patreon last month; the theming is Persian Ogres, so perhaps a bit niche. Ghamak does pretty good work; I'm subscribed to his Sci-fi stuff on Patreon (where he's finishing up his 3-month run of Japanese-themed Drukhari).
And now for something I'm looking for, my friends: Crusaders. As in the Ministorum kind with the shields and swords; the actual GW ones are kinda crap looking IMO, so I'm trying to find some good 3d-printable alternatives.

Heresy Lab have a bunch of Inquisition/Ministorum types, you might find a few in there that could work, depending on how many you need. https://www.myminifactory.com/users/Heresylab-Scifi This one seems pretty much directly comparable, though I'm not sure there are any other matching designs. https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-hl155-185692

I've not printed nor bought any, but I've heard that Heresy Lab make some really detailed models that, at their scale, really push the limits of 3D printing in terms of getting the detail to print and be supported and be painted once printed.

Post by: Flinty
I would agree with that. Here is one of Heresy Labs models I did earlier in the year.
They are Definately super detailed with lots of tiny projections that I very much had to be happy with “good enough”

I'm looking for Skyrim minis, mainly because the lack of Dragonborn for Call to Arms isn't enough for my taste, but also because I want some in 28/32 mm for other games.
Also: Mass Effect models.

I found those pretty early in my search, and they have the exact same problem I'm trying to circumvent that the Oathmark Revenants have - withered skull faces and big muscley arms.
I'm being really picky here, but I really want something with a stringy, withered look like the Skyrim draugr, though they don't necessarily have to be quasi-Nordic like the Skyrim ones. I just want the half-mummified beef jerky look.

Also if you are after ww2 era stuff more generally, there are loads of British, German, American and Russian trucks and staff cars in the sets by m_bergman
https://www.thingiverse.com/m_bergman/designs
They are in 1:100 and 1:200, but are easily derailed enough to be scaled up to 28mm, maybe with a few extra gubbins added for detail.

And don't forget the magic that is mirroring! Its like being able to extend the lifespan of underpants by wearing them inside out! (caution, wearing underpants longer than one day in any configuration may affect your ability to talk to civilised people)
77922
Post by: Overread
Sometimes you have to be careful with mirroring, eg mirroring units holding shields is fine so long as you don't mind them swapping hands holding the shield; or if the core body is separate and the arms are able to socket to either side.
Also keep an eye on any writing on the model.
Otherwise yep mirroring is a great way to help get more visual braek up with a larger unit or even just two big models.

Does anyone know where I can find a model similar to the mechanical floating 5 faced beings from a popular eighties cartoon?
For more details, the mechanical beings float and have an egg shaped body with 5 mechanical tendrils that sprout from the bottom. The five faces generally represent Anger, Wrath, Wit, Wisdom, and Doubt.
I’m not looking for a straight up duplicate necessarily. Just something similar in concept that I can print (or have printed) to fit on a 50mm round base.

I'm looking for some small ruins, ideally something that will fit on a 60mm base for a flying Nazgul model (I acquired one that I'm going to build as Khamul the Easterling and I wanted to do an interesting base for him). The ruins would obviously need to be fitting for a fantasy setting. I've looked around a bit and failed to come up with anything suitable, but I'm hoping someone else here might have a lead or two.

You could print the Corsair backpack but without the vanes
https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/corsair-space-jump-pack
Eldar flight packs have always had the wings aesthetic to differentiate from the more functional imperial amd ramshackle ork kit.
What kind of aesthetic are you after? There are various mandalorian style stls out there that could maybe be modified simply with some eldar style jewels and blisters. Otherwise the main choices are imperial styles with one or more mai. Jets and with or without wings, or the slightly more discrete tau style, again with or without wings.

One Page Rules was who I was going to reference. Also note that at some stage they are going to re-do a bunch of the Tyranid models - they've already teased some redesign concepts in their discord now and then.
Other than that I think Hydracast had one but he's selling physical products and is based in Russia so I think he's pretty much shut down at present.

Yeah I thought some of the earlier dragons might well suit what you're after. MMM makes very good quality models. Supports are generally very very good as well, though some of the earlier ones are older supports. If they are lychee they'll be from the main supporter who is very good, if they are chitu then its the sculptors own so they might want a little review, but should print.

Honestly I can't say. Buildings aren't something I've invested into from anyone. Mostly because they tend to be more and FDM or at the very least large SLA printer project. That and I've utterly no room for terrain stuff right now. So I keep an eye on them but I've passed on all. The two firms I've mentioned are pretty solid with their support work and a lot of buildings can often be fairly simple side for supporting and printing. So they should print fairly easily.

Honestly I don't think you'll find horse tails as parts. What you are more likely to find is a good quality horse sculpt that you like and then simply cut the tail off in editing. You could do that using something like mesh-mixer pretty easily.
The harder part will be attaching the tail since its going to be pretty small in contact area, doable but might be fiddly.
So if I were you I'd hit up My Mini factory, Cults, etc... and just search for horses/mounted horses and find a tail(s) that you like on them.

I've found that image searches give the best results. Just a simple search of what you're after and STL at the end, and you usually get linked to various STL search aggregator sites that you can flick through visually.
Best of luck with the printing!

If you are doing image searches one word of caution. Especially on sites like etsy and such be VERY cautious about prices that seem too good.
There are a lot of thieves out there and its very easy to find STL models that are being sold illegally.
So if you find something I strongly encourage you to spend a few more moments just to research that model. Throw the image into google images if there isn't a creator name attached to it; check any watermarks on the image. Spend a few moments just to make sure that the place you are buying from is legitimate; so that you know the money you are spending is going to the creator/studio and not to some random thief.
Broadly speaking sites like My Mini Factory are pretty safe; however sites like thingiverse, Etsy and any site that is independent of the major stores can be a theft site.
And if in doubt ask in places like here or in 3D print groups on facebook or reddit. Most people are more than keen to help shut down the thieves and to promote the creators directly

I'm looking for two very different things:
1) Anime inspired fantasy figures, bonus if they can be printed at 28/32mm and 72/75mm, but the problem is that while I can find many sexy ladies I can rarely find some dues outside of famous characters (Goblin Slayer I'm looking at you). I'd prefer to find a range of anime inspired D&D-esque STLs.
2) Ultramodern military and urban minis. I own a bunch of Wargame Foundry Street Violence minis, but to be quite honest they aren't the best sculpted modern urban combatants--they are unfortunately the only ones in any number. Again I can find one-offs, but it would be nice to see a range especially like Foundry's Street Violence with different factions as STLs.

For Anime you could look at
RNE studio
https://www.myminifactory.com/users/rnestudio
Also Nomnom have done some anime inspired larger and chibi style models for the 75mm bracket

RNE studio is kind of the problem I have. Their JRPG models are based on 8-bit Nintendo console games and Im looking for more modern anime designs. And while there are some fine "homages" to video game and anime characters, I'm looking for something less Link (from Zelda, Cloud (From FFVII), Goblin Slayer, Darkness (From Konosuba), etc..
I detest chibi or else I'd have had my fill of cheap plastic of that.
So, anime inspired generic class based miniatures--not chibi.

Humble Bundle has a set with male and female modular stl sets for modern infantry. Supplied From AlbinoRaven’s catalogue on MMF

I’m also certain I’ve seen anime inspired D&D stuff in MMF but i l ant put my finger on them just now.
There are the chibi 40k people(sorry, just seen your anti-chibi position!)

1) Galaad maybe?

Most of his stuff is more classic Fantasy, but takes some inspiration here and there. Though not really 1:1 copies of anime.
2) Turnbase Miniatures maybe? Spectre Miniatures also just launched a Patreon this month, but so far, I found it rather dissapointing. 2 models only, bit on the pricey side. But I'll wait and see what next months full squad brings.

That Humble Bundle I think I’m going to have to pull the trigger on. Good start to cops, military and a few ne’er do wells.
Galaad Is surprising good, not exactly anime, but certainly adjacent to it. I followed them at MMF.

I went for the full bundle mainly for the female soldier models. The heads are fantastic. Printing a second bed of them just now.

Guys, I'm gonna host some Lancer RPG con games this august, and I'm in need of some kaiju.
Specifically I'd need minis that would look cool and kaiju-like for regular sized minis (Lancer Size 1, think regular 28-32mm size, or Battletech) and fit on a regular hez sided Battletech base, and for bigger ones (Lancer Size 2, see the sizes below):
If you've printed something similar, that would look cool to fight with mechs, please let me know.

Hi all! Bit new to this 3D printing stuff.
I was hoping to use the one in our local library for historical miniatures, primarily Greek, Persian, Sassanid and Byzantine. I've tried trawling around, but I'm having trouble finding them. Care to give a pointer or two?
