Civ 5 and Saint's Row 3. The former I have had for a while, but just got back in to playing, and the latter I recently got cause it was on sale on Steam. Both are quite fun.
Funnily enough I tried Civ 5 for a while, then remembered how much better Civ 4 is and have been immersed in it.
Have the civ colony game as well. I might give it a go some time, I had the freeware version aware ago and it was pretty cool, even if it wasn't really replayable.
Dino Crisis - PS1 title makes up for the lack of a decent Jurassic Park game.
Continuing to make progress with Skyrim, then it's back to actually finish Morrowind!

Is Civ 5 worth it? I heard 4 is better and I see a lot of not so Civ-like stuff in 5.
KamikazeCanuck wrote:.....they got star craft in space and Civ with dragons now? Damn I need a new PC.
Both are mods (well done mods), and both run on my old Laptop with its damaged onboard graphic card.
Just finished Metro 2033. Freaking awesome game, it's like the Mass Effect of the post apocalyptic genre, except it actually has a decent ending. I'll be reading the book as well.

Been playing Lords of the Realm 2 while waiting for my copy of Warhammer 40k: Chaos Gate to show up. Also waiting for Pirates, Knights, and Vikings 2 to release the next patch.

Can't wait for Last Light.
I tried to read the book. I remember buying the thing on my kindle but the entire book is in german!
Anyways Im playing Pikmin 2 currently. I love gamecube games.
TES V; Skyrim, Minecraft, Halo 3 ( i know..it's not the newest game in the halo-series, but it's a cool game) Assassins Creed Revelations... and i think i'm gonna buy Guitar Hero; Warriors of rock quite soon....
It's not quite maintaining the same core elements of the previous instalments (such as the ability to have full control over your squad member's movements) but it is still entertaining...
But most recently i have been playing CustomRobo for gamecube because i got super nostalgic and have been playing a couple hours a day for the last week lol
Played one game of ME3 this week multiplayer, came in on round 4.. odd, but bagged a Krogan Sentinel with a Premium Spectre, so used him and loved it.
Then did a mission in my main single player game, but have left her with the Geth world missions.
Also had a short blast on Sims 3, as Aura and I are trying to finish the achievements, only two left now, both being a little grindy, but should be done by the end of the weekend.
Apart from that, not playing much.
Will have to share a pic of my wargaming construction efforts at some point as thats where 70-80% of my free time is going at the mo.
Currently playing Dragons Dogma whilst also getting annoyed at Dragons Dogma.
Bandits just seem to be able to insta-kill me or my pawns. Either I'm still too low a level or my pawn combination sucks. Either way I like a bit of challenge
I've dug deep into my collection of Gamecube games and pulled out the video game adaption of Peter Jackson's King Kong. It's pretty fun and very atmospheric.

I actually forgot how many fun games I had on my Gamecube. It's been a blast replaying them...and I can't believe how well some have held up! For example, Metroid Prime is now 10 years old, and still plays great and looks decent for its age.
Jumpin Jesus wrote:Dragons Dogma. I cant put it down.
I'm with you on this one. I'v done very little of the Main Quest and still having a blast. Must admit the pawn system had me concerned but I think its pretty sweet.
Skyrim, Dragon Age 2, Diablo 3, and Warhammer Online. Currently working midshifts, so on my days off and my family is sleeping I have little else to do.
Currently playing Clannad, another Visual Novel CXalled Katawa Shoujo, btw, nice Hanako avatar pic remilia_scarlet,
and Assassin's Creed 2, and i must say, i am thoroughly enjoying it so far

I recently rediscoverd Rome Total war again
Im trying out different ones. My main focus right now (in Empire) is the Plains Nation... I have a feeling the US is about to turn on me, since Huron (An ally of US and I) and Spain (an enemy of all three) is all thats left, im trying to arm myself with some more advanced units...
I mainly like to play land battles and im trying out my luck with sea battles.
Rome: Total War is one of my favorite PC games ever... Im also playing a Julii campaign in that as well.
Finished Skyrim and started a new game of Morrowind. Loving it but unfortunately I'm playing the xbox game of the year edition on my 360 and it doesn't run quite as well; they should bring out an anniversary HD bundle optimised for the consoles, and maybe with one or two additional gameplay options.

Oh nicve, I never got the hang of the native factions. So I manly stick to either Russia or Sweden. Juli is nice, althou the Gauls and Germanians can be a bit troubelsome
Started playing Deus Ex: Human Revolution again. Its a game I really havn't gotten into atm. That and numerous Pc issues has caused me to restart this game so many times.
No reliable internet access, so can't install ME3. Therefore keeping away from all the threads about it.
Every so often I return and play through both 1 and 2 with a new character, so will have plenty of options for starting ME3.
Still, have been playing Skyrim, again with multiple characters. Mostly sneaky types that can take out most things with a single arrowshot.
Just started going through Fallout 3 again with my first female character, although getting a little annoyed that I didn't do a good job of character generation (Forgot to take into account attribute bonuses on things like armour) and therefore didn't have enough strength and keep running out of carry capacity.
KamikazeCanuck wrote:Why do you need internet access to install ME3?
Because of half assed designe choices and MP. alongside registration I assume
Can't register it, can't get it to play, no point buying it until I can register and play it. Don't actually give a monkey's about MP, just need to get on-line at home enough to register it than I'd buy it. Must have been through the first 2 games with about a dozen characters, and now can't finish the series.
Playing STALKER: call of pripyat. I love this game. I played the original but never call of pripyat. I really really like it. I modded it with the reloaded mod that adds a bunch of stuff and makes it harder. It has so much atmosphere its not funny. If you have a higher end pc, like shooters and like scary games you must try this.
I through Morrowind on the PC the other day and have been enjoying running through that one again. Though it is making me miss Skyrim something fierce. I need to get that for the 360
Just completed the Deus Ex Missing Link DLC. Gotta say its one of the better DLCs that I have played. Was rather gutted when I didn't get the achievement for not using Praxis points, Weapons and such.... I used the stun gun a fair bit. Didn't realize until after completing it that I wasn't allowed to use weapons.
Still both Deus Ex and the DLC have a decent bit of replayability plus im a sucker for achievements....The Pacifist is really gonna take some effort lol.

Just bought the Wife KOTOR and KOTOR2 for her bday yesterday. She absolutely loved those games when they came out and so I figured its a winner of a present. It was, we spent a good couple hours playing them.

Ya, they're good. (first one's better though).
First one has a better story, but it is a bit galling that you have to play through half the game as a regular dude and then have to become a jedi.
Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. One of the best ever gets some better graphics and 3d treatment but retains the soul of the original.
Soul Reaver 2. Doesn't play quite as good as Raz's first outing on PS1, but it's by no means a big let down. I'm going to race through it to catch up on the plot before playing Defiance - the only game in the series I've yet to play.
Kid Icarus: Uprising. There's a good game here - provided I can master the slightly tricky controls!
I picked this up Tuesday, and I'm loving every second of it. I really like most of the changes from War for Cybertron, and they also made the multiplayer better....and it's also a nice change from playing so much Battlefield 3
johnscott10 wrote: Gonna blitz ME1 for a few hours. Got a load of DLC for 1 & 2 that I didn't have before. Hopefully its worthwhile.
Hopefully you didn't spend money on Pinnacle Station.
In other news beat the campaign of TS Cold War already. It was both easier and harder than Toy Soldiers 1. For some reason the Toy Soldiers are stupider in the 80s. Like a tank is bearing down on them and they just stare at it. You have to do all the work yourself. Yet, the campaign was still easier, maybe because the weapons are way more powerful than the WWI era ones. Still those WWI guys need to teach those 80s slackers how to shoot!
ME:1 and gads its pretty bad. Soo glad i didnt get it first time round as i dont think i could take the disappointment. It was probably my most anticipated game, just as well i couldnt afford a 360 at the time.
I am mainly playing it to get everything from 3 and 2 i missed. Mainly Wrex who despite playthroughs (2 on ME:2) of each sequel i am yet to 'meet'. I am considering getting all the DLC for 2 as for me it was the most enjoyable. Also tbh the first has the strongest Sci-fi story, albiet worst storytelling.
Dark Souls? I'd imagine it'd be horrible without a controller. For once, I am glad that I got that game on my PS3; no porting issues. If you have access to a controller, I'd recommend giving it a second go. It's a fantastic game when you get into it.
Oh yeah I almost forgot, anyone that liked world of tanks and like to fly planes apply for the beta of war of thunder. I like it much much more then world of planes beta. If anyone played il-2 sturmovik birds of prey/wings of prey for pc, its that but mmo.
Been playing The Secret World for about four weeks. It's... got a few bugs and the customer support is pretty questionable, but the bug-free stuff (which is the overwhelming majority) is generally pretty great; the dungeons actually require you to play well and pay attention, as opposed to dungeons in most MMOs, where you can pretty much mash the keyboard and win, at least until you reach the end-game dungeons.
It actually has missions that might require you to do some research, quests that require you to solve logic puzzles, and quests where you must decrypt coded messages, and other actual puzzles. I suppose if you were inclined you could just use google to find a guide to these quests, but really, where's the fun in that?
I'm also a huge fan of the setting and theme. Overall, I quite like it. I still think I'll be buying GW2 on Tuesday, though, since it also looks pretty good and there's no subscription fee, so I don't see any reason not to.
-World of Tanks
-Fallout New Vegas
-Gotcha Force
-Pokemon Ruby
-The legend of Zelda a link to the Past, Windwaker, 1, 2, links adventure, Twilight princess, Orcarina of time, Majoras Mask......... ok all but skyward sword
-Minecraft
Really was expecting nothing of Brink but actually it's really good. I'm impressed with the mechanics of how the battles are set up. I think this would be one of the best multiplayer games out there if anyone was playing it.
Well, looks like I'm not playing City of Heroes for much longer. The development studio has been dissolved and the publisher, NCSoft, is shutting the game down Nov. 30th. I'm actually so mad about this I don't really want to play Guild Wars 2 just because I don't want to support NCSoft anymore.
So it looks like it'll just be The Secret World and a sprinkling of TF2 and DOOM for me for the foreseeable future.
Pretty much playing only Dota 2 and Heroes of Newerth, depends which gaming group I'm playing with. But I think I'm getting back to WoW when the Pandaria is released.
Not too shabby. I think it does capture the feeling of busting ghosts. If you've ever wonder what's like too wield the proton pack and ghost trap this game has it down. Beyond that they take some creative liberties for better and worse. I'm digging it so far.

You are thinking of Honest Hearts. However, it's the Burned Man in Utah, not the Burning Man in Arizona.
Dang, swing and a miss x2. Gues that shows how memorable is was.
Hmmm, I liked Honest Hearts. It was my second favorite, first was The Lonesome Road.
Honest Hearts was my least favorite (so far, but only Lonesome Road left). I ended up rushing through it, as I found the characters to be bland and the story to not be all that compelling. I think the tribals also contributed to my dislike of it, they just seemed too overdone.
Beat Ghostbusters. That game really drags at the end and it actually gets ridiculous how the real Ghostbusters make you do everything but at least I saved the world .....or something.
Playing through Gears of War 2 again. I just got past that part where you're in the gigantic underground lake and you have to kill the Leviathan-thingy.
FTL is a great little game, but i hate after having my ship alive for an hour the computer decides that I have been playing long enough and the next random encounter is some uber ship that kicks my teeth in.

Beat fear like two days ago. Best non multiplayer focused FPS that I've played in ages. As for now, Starcraft 2 and CS: GO. Really liking CS, reminds me how multiplayer fps's should be.
Guitar Hero 1 & 2 on PS2, Skyrim (Illusionist) on PC.
Want to get my internet up and running again so I can get the original "X - Beyond the Frontier" and "FTL" which I will then spend days playing at a time.
Dead Island and MWO, well, when my computer doesn't screw up.
Whenever I'm playing games at fullscreen, like dead island for example, every 15 or so minutes it will freeze for like 10 seconds then resume as normal. It did in with MWO too, except it would freeze for 8, then black screen for 2, then come back. I fixed it by making MWO windowed full screen, but I can't figured out how to fix it for dead island. It's maddening.
Nostalgia, mainly. Also like the fact you never change your ship in that one. Before I even paid the Teladi back I had upgraded my cargo bay quite a bit so the profit I could make in a single run was more than enough to cover what I owed. Then I upgraded my engines and rudder the same number of times. Made sure that when I paid the Teladi back, I had a cargo bay full of wares to sell to start me off again.
After trading like a dragon, I was able to put the best shields and some pretty fierce weapons on board without wiping out all my cargo space, gained rep like crazy and started putting defences in an unoccupied sector. Once pirates and Zenon could not get into the place, I started working the factory chains. Start off with powerplants, then add in crystal fab to supply the powerplant, Cahoona Bakery to supply the crystal fab, cattle ranch to supply the Cahoona bakery. End up producing more energy cells than your own stations need, so set my price lower than anyone else within 2-3 sectors. Instant cash supply. By endgame, I had capital ship size shields and weapons on a fast, maneuverable fighter.
Been playing a lot of Battlefield 3 on PC...a LOT of BF3... This follows a massive third play-through of Saints Row: The Third. And I'm still working in a copious amount of EVE.
My poor painting table hasn't seen any love in weeks...
Resident Evil 6. Long time fan. And this one does not disappoint. I can't understand this wave of hate from a lot of reviewers, a lot of them are full of s--- jumping on the trend "Let's hate everything not made by Western developers, i.e., bro-tastic FPSs"...
Still playing Skyrim, with 2 new characters. It turns out changing/add/removing mods makes a save game become unstable.
Trying to play a bit different now since I now have the Alternative Life start. Going for a melee based female Nord who will join the Stormcloaks, The other character will be a Stealth based Argonian male who will join the Empire.
Thats another oh 100+ hours added onto my already 280+ hours rofl!
Right now, having a look at Doom3 BFG edition.
I can safely say that the only reason to get that if for doom 1 and 2. Doom 3 is still a crappy system shock 2 wannabe, and they made it even more annoying by giving it unskippable cutscenes and a intrusive save system.

Fair enough. I just didn't enjoy Doom 3 that much compared to the first games.
Oblivion of all things. Its utterly pish compared to Skyrim in almost every way but still has a certain charm. Admittedly The dark brotherhood questline story is good as is the thieve's one.
The length of these questlines also kinda puts skyrim to shame, oblivion's DB questline has like 20 medium length missions compared to the skyrim one having about 6 of any notable length/depth.
I think this is the difference in design ethos in a nutshell, skyrim has less than half the quests but these are far better designed and engaging.
I think people only say they like Oblivion more because almost every mechanic in that game can be exploited to ridiculous levels. Yes with a little research and effort you can break the game to your will but any immersion is lost as a result.
Things that i now wish were in Skyrim? Night-eye as a spell, the Cameoline spell, paralysis in illusion, pickpocket being a perk of sneak and first person horse riding.
Assassin's Creed III. It's pretty fun, not as good as Brotherhood or Revelations, but still fun in its own way. The only thing I dislike about it is taht it seems the Assassins have devolved in terms of firearm technology. I mean, you have Ezio running around during the Renaissance with that teeny tiny little pistol mounted on his wrist that was so easy to use, but now a couple hundred years later during the American Revolution I'm stuck using a bulky flintlock pistol? What the hell?
Sorry, won't play AC3. Lost interest in the series when I was forced to have a permanent internet connection to even play a single player game of AC2.
Also won't touch Bioshock 3, despite having just read the book "Bioshock: Rapture" which set up how Andrei Ryanov built Rapture in the first place and how "Frank Fontaine" started the splicers and set it all tumbling down in an effort to put himself in Ryan's place. The reason I won't touch BS3 - the copy of bioshock 2 I bought corrupet my Bios and it was only due to me being friends with the IT guy where I worked that restored my PC to a usable condition.
Also getting annoyed with Batman: Arkham City, and don't know if it's my keyboard or what, but I just can't get Batman to slide, so am stuck in the steelmill and can't get out. Anyone able to confirm if this is a bug of some sort and I need to get the game patched? I know it has told me I need to update my graphics drivers, and will do this as soon as I can get connected again, but wonder if there is more to it than that. Love the rest of it, but this is starting to make me paranoid about new games.

I always enjoyed having a ring that could toggle night-eye for those dark ruins of Cyrodiil , unless I'm mistaken the Khajiit night-eye in Skyrim isn't quite the same thing.
At the moment Rome Total War. Sadly I just got backstabbed by the Britons who are building a massive empire in Europe (as you do) and they attacked me with a stack of chariots. My hastati didn't do so well.

To be fair Skyrim's dungeons, for the most part, are Floodlit by comparison. Oblivion's are truly pitch black, which can often get annoying and makes night-eye a neccesity for stealth play. I suppose thats another thing that is different about oblivion, yes you can be the invisible sneak-king but killing anything? Good luck... It seems 6x damage doesnt go very far, although some of the dumber enemies can be hit multiple times before noticing . It makes sluthing a bit more tense as often you have to forgoe loot because you have no chance of killing the opposition. Whereas in Skyrim you are merely plodding through dungeons tapping people with your magic insta-gib dagger.
I got through most of Oblivion stealthing. OK, it's still easier in Skyrim with the correct perks. I mean, if you can sneak right up to someone and have the right gloves and dagger X30 damage is really OP compared to Oblivion's X6, but that's why I restricted myself to bows in Skyrim.
Still, fancy playing as mainly illusionist with miinor destruction and restoration abilities next time I play.
Spent 8 hours yesterday playing Spore. Damn that game is addictive. Only picked it up since I managed to get it for £10 because of Origins Halloween sale otherwise I wouldn't have bothered. Just need to spend another 2 hours playing it and its been worth it haha. May consider getting the expansion for it.

Skyrim is just the game that keeps on giving for me. I cant recommend Sneak/Illusion/Pickpocket enough, turns the game on it's head and allows for near fully non-lethal play. I levelled up my Illusion and Pickpocket by stealing my gold Back from the illusion trainer .
The only thing i havent done in Skyrim is Enchanting, Alchemy and Smithing i dont really like these Skills as they seem to only exist to be exploited.
Speaking of other favorites i too love the bow/sneak + Aura Whisper, never gets old picking guys off, although thanks to some OP loot its again a little too easy. My last 30+ character is Block/One Hand/Light Armour/Restoration + become Ethereal, Have a fun tactic where i use Become ethereal if i am low health, run away while charging Fast healing and Cast it when the ethereal runs out. He also Eats ALOT of vegetable Soup.

Jeez. I know this is heresy, but you could get a console.......
Playing M.A.V. from BombDog Studios. Essentially a Chromehounds fan with a background in Videogame design decided to go all Minecraft on that sucker, and is making his own Modular Mecha game using Alpha/Beta buyin and on his own time. It's pretty cool so far, though very, very early in development.
KamikazeCanuck wrote: Jeez. I know this is heresy, but you could get a console.......
Not heresy at all. Don't have the money at the moment to get a current gen console, even second hand, love my PS2 and am playing through all levels of "Guitar Hero" and "Guitar Hero 2" trying to get perfect on every song in every set before moving up a difficulty level and starting all over again. surprised myself recently by taking out some songs on Hard, something I have never been able to do before. Thought I would be rusty as hell since I hadn't played for over 2 years, and now doing better than ever.
Also have "Need For Speed: Most Wanted" on the original PS2 version, and been playing that a bit too.

I play on hard myself. Expert just gets stupid difficult.
Right now, playing Norton Ghost because sysprep failed on the last image -_-'.
Besides that, been playing Minecraft and Painkiller: Hell and Retribution lately. Already beat Painkiller but I'm gonna go for a second play though on Insomnia.
Fallout New Vegas, on hard with hardcore mode with the J.E Sawyer mod. Its brutal, hard as hell, and I bloody love it.
Really buggy though. I think the mod is conflicting with something.
I've noticed that there's been a lack of an AC3 related threads yet in the subforum. I'm curious - has anyone else been as disappointed with the game I have? I feel as though I've wasted $60 in buying it.

Not me. I know I said earlier in the thread that I liked Brotherhood and Revelations better, but I take that all back. To me, ACIII is the best game in the series.

Thats a fair claim, I can't tell whether AC3 is good or not since I don't have it.
I'v been playing a lot of Guild Wars 2. Just completed Kessex Hills area. Should probly switch games so I don't burn out like most MMOs I have tried.
Skyrim, bombing around on horseback swinging a battleaxe is great fun - oddly, the only thing the "jousting" approach doesn't work on is mammoths - they're very good at anti-cavalry duty, it seems.
Just started my latest Football Manager 2013 addiction... Have warned the wife and got in a large pallet of 'Bombay Bad Boy' pot noodles. Yah, i'm set for the next 2 months or so!
Also 'Frontline Tactics' and 'Borderlands'. Still.
Are those good? I picked up the core of Toy Soldiers awhile back, and loved the concept, but hesitated at the DLC.
I got them on sale for $2 each (plus the Cold War ones). Kaiser's Battle is just more standard Toy Soldiers fun but harder than the original campaign. I don't know if it's because you're playing as the French or something but your soldiers seem a lot more incompetent than before. They barely bother to shoot and seem to outright miss a lot.
Invasion! is definately worth a try. It's fun to take on extra-toyboxellar foes like Aliens, Knights and Fire Trucks but also quite hard. Final boss is a giant robot with death rays that's really pissing me off right now. Stupid giant robot....

I'm also playing Black Ops 2 but finding it kind of enjoyable both SP and MP, which is odd as I thought it would be crap.
I didn't like the plot of the single player, and the multi-player seemed just more of the same. I played the gak out of MW, WaW, MW2, and BO...but now it's just more of the same, and if anything, just more fast-paced. Most of the changes just seemed really superficial.

I'm also playing Black Ops 2 but finding it kind of enjoyable both SP and MP, which is odd as I thought it would be crap.

Ill agree that the MP is more of the same, but I skipped MW3 since is was god awful compared to Black Ops so the break has actually helped me enjoy COD again I think. As for SP I havn't played much of it but I did enjoy the Strike Op mission, it helped break up the run and gun formula I'm used to in a COD game. Tbh I wasnt even planning on buying BO2 but I seen it paired with WAW for £55 and jumped on it....Still no idea why since what I remember of WAW it wasnt that good. I dunno, maybe its just another game to add to the collection so I have something to play when I can't connect to the internet.
I got to say, I am disappointed with how bland the darksides writing is. I like the Republics stories so far but that might be because I am playing a Smuggler. My alt is a Sith Inquisitor and I have just been bored to tears with how underwhelming they are.
Both of my toons are at least lvl12 but I really don't know how much more I want to stick with it.
Well let's see, at the moment i'm playing the Mega man x collection on game cube along with Civilization 4 on pc. And i'm about to go back to Battle for middle earth 2 along with Command&Conquer 3 since the last game in that series disappointed me deeply and i'm trying to forget that it was ever made lol.
Ugh. Hated Rage. I sold it back the same afternoon I got it. Weird thing was, due to a BOGO and extra trade in value overlapping at FYE, I got MORE back for it than I paid (paid twenty-five, got back forty). I used the return cash to buy LOTR: War in the North, which was another AMAZING game from Snowblind Studios. Champions of Norrath and Justice League Heroes are also excellent games by them.
Anyway, I'm playing the crap out of Borderlands 2. So much better than the first one. The commando has a personality (Roland did not), the Siren has a more badass ability than Lilith did, but I'd rather have Mordecai than the Assassin. Both Brick and Salvador are for me.

I'm only a few hours in but I like it so far.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Finished up the last episode of The Walking Dead. That was a hell of game, very emotional.
It really does seem like Oblivion and Just cause had a child.
The driving is really good, better then most current racers.
The shooting is also well done. Not a giant selection of guns but enough.
The fire effects are great.
The graphics are also super good. I dont have a super rig either.
I have a quad core @2.6 with 4gb of ram and a 560 ti gfx card so not the best pc but not the worst, and im running it on DX11 with most things set to high or super high, and I'm getting over 30 fps and in my opinion totally playable.
The only negative thing I can say about it is I have a feeling it might be on the short side, but I have not beat it yet as I have been doing lots of side missions.
with a view to finishing that and heading straight into KOTOR2 and the "Sith Lords Restored Content Mod" to finally find out what the ending of the second game should have been!

Ahhhh, I'm holding off on putchasing that....I think my girlfriend is "surprising" me with it for Christmas
As for me, I picked up Halo 4 over the weekend. I'm really enjoying it thus far...but it's a huge change of pace from what I'm used to. I haven't played a Halo game since Halo 2, and the only FPS I've been playing recenrly is BF3 on PS3. It's been good, though!
Just started playing Jonah Lomu's Rugby Challenge... sad that it's the only current system rugby game out there :( I still think its a great game, but wish I had options on my playstation as well, instead of only my pc.
