Well....I guess I cant be mad. Ray Lewis was one of the players I watched in High School and tried to emulate on the field. As one of the few Patriots fans in San Diego, I got a load of taunts after the game. I told myself Id be ok with either team winning the AFC, but it still stings.

Not complaining here, but just how did I win this week?
Both Hlaine and I had SF with most points, and NE with least. Byte had Sf/Atl.

My guess would be closest on the score in the SF/Atl game: I had Sf 27-Atl 24..... Final was 28-24....

Tie breaks I assume, I'm pretty sure I got the exact scores completely wrong but got highest/lowest scores right

Definitely tie-breaks.

Tie-break #1 is points, and you were only off by a couple.

Tie-break #2 is highest/lowest scorers, which both you and HL mk2 got correctly.

Wow I was way off.

How does Brady not score a TD with 11 minutes left? Lost the over/under.

Ravens are gonna with the trophy this year.

Post by: Chancetragedy

He doesn't throw a TD because Baltimore beat New England into submission. Brady looked scared and frustrated. Without Gronk we don't have a big physical receiver. At that point Ridley had been knocked into last week I believe by pollard the patriots DESTROYER. Pollard now has notches consisting of injuring Brady, Welker, Gronk, Ridley Just on the patriots.

It was a fluke interception off a batted ball. That is really the reason they did not score a TD.

Post by: RiTides

I thought the batted ball interception came earlier? There was another crazy ricochet that Almost got intercepted... Brady was a bit off, I thought, but of course the defensive line of the Ravens getting their hands up played a big role in that.

Brady looked "off". He wasn't playing as hard as he always expects his teammates to play.

Yah the way to beat the patriots is simple(but not always easy). They can be bullied. They have officially become the New England colts.... The early part of this decade had a team that smashed you into submission. Now they are getting bullied.

Yeah it was in the 2nd quarter I think when it bounced off the receiver and back to the line of scrimmage where Kreuger failed hold onto it

Only 3-1/2 weeks till the combine who's excited!?!

No one? Bueller, anyone?

Patriots have the 29th overall and the 61st over all. STarting to look into college guys now. Kinda want them to draft DB/dline or a coverage line backer with the first 2...

He's half right. It's my understanding the browns are going to be trading the 6th over all to New England for Ryan mallet. Due to lombardi's connection with BB.

And have anyone else seen the reports of JaMarcus Russell returning to the league?
Apparently he's still >300lbs but Marshall Faulk is part of his team, he could always challenge sanchez for the Jets starting job

I haven't heard Matt Barkley's name at all today, and I listen to Cleveland Sports Radio from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM and then from 3 to 6:30 I switch between sports radio and the local afternoon drive talk show on the rock station.

The list of interested in Revis teams I saw was pats, broncos, texans, chargers, Cleveland, and 2 others. Anyone who trades the minimum of a 1st and 2nd isn't gonna be happy that they are then gonna have to pay him a Mario Williams type contract.... Talking like 6 years 100million for a cornerback....

The Pro Bowl was interesting, but it was on at the ame time as the Blackhawks so I was flipping back and forth.

I did see the forced fumble by Charles "Peanut" Tillman. That guy is amazing to watch. I think he is the best in the NFL at forcing turnovers.

Not a fan of the Probowl. It's the least interesting of the all star games to me.

It should be a good game this weekend. As always, I'm just hoping it isn't a blow out in the first half.

I'm kind of glad the teams seemed to have tried for the pro-bowl. Although 62-35 is kind of lame. Why did the afc cough up 5 turnovers lol.

I've decided moreso than previous years. I'm really gonna do some scouting and study draft potentials. I might post an article or 2 I'm thinking about writing here as well.

Report says ray Lewis used a banned substance to come back from a triceps tear in about a 1/4 of the time it normally takes. Lol really? I think the question should be how many banned substances cause I doubt it's just 1. I'm so tired of questions of steroid use in the NFL. It's pretty clear it's there so who cares. There were what 28-4 game suspensions this year in the nfl for PED....

Do you realize the pressure he is under as a College football player.

If his team were 6-6, or 8-4 it would not have been an issue, but at 22yrs of age, and being seen as the leader of a 12-0 reg season team is a ton of pressure.

The stress probably got to him, and he was duped. He is young and has most of his life ahead of him.

Now NFL, Vegas has SF at -3.5 so they are favored, and the Over/Under is 47. I am thinking ravens (At +3.5) and the under.

What do you guys think?

Stress? Americans younger than that put their lives on the line everyday overseas in combat zones for months at a time. That's stress.

Than again he does primarily play a game and had a free ride through school. Maybe he was stressed enough to pillow talk with a man on the phone for 2 years... Or he's a village idiot.

There's still the stress of having to perform your best week in week out as the figurehead of what effectively is a franchise and being judged by pretty much every college football fan.

It's not combat stress but it's still stressful

Art Modell died in September.

Do people in Ohio seriously call him a team stealer? Its not like he left like a thief in the night, ala Baltimore Colts. From what I understand, Ohio wouldn't build a new stadium, since he was losing money hand over fist, so he went elsewhere.

I'm more upset that it was Sapp over Haley... Strahan and Sapp didn't really have the careers to warrant a first year and in ballot. Sure Strahan has much better numbers that Sapp (including the single season record), but I think that overall he shoulda gotten in AFTER Charles Haley... Given that after winning a SB with the 9ers and getting seriously injured, they said he was done. He only worked his ass off and won another one with the Cowgirls.

True, I've spent my youth deployed in warzones and working on the flight deck of aircraft carriers. I literally have 6 years deployed over my 23 years of service. Never had to pillow talk with a stranger on a phone because I was that stressed. I see American patriots everyday doing their best for their family and country and come up short. Making this personal? Come on man really? He plays a game... he's a student... keep things relative.

Haha love it! To be fair though i think manning just plain didn't deserve the MVP and AD2k is one of my favorites in the league so i sure am biased. And I am glad manning was as good as he was in his comeback because you never want to see people seriously hurt. But Peterson has just been a beast this year.

It wasn't Strahan's first year...

That doesnt change that he should have been in behind Haley, but ahead of Sapp.

The actual voters thought otherwise. No reason for you and I to try to make sense of it.

Art Modell died in September.

Do people in Ohio seriously call him a team stealer? Its not like he left like a thief in the night, ala Baltimore Colts. From what I understand, Ohio wouldn't build a new stadium, since he was losing money hand over fist, so he went elsewhere.

Oh I know when Art died, and yes he stole the team. The city asked of he wanted to move downtown next to the.baseball field and basketball arena, he said no because at Municipal Stadium he had the yearly lease for a dollar and was making hand over fist because the Cleveland Indians played there, he actively BLOCKED the creation of an expansion team in Baltimore which allowed for the creation of the Jacksonville Jaguars, and when it became known that he was going to move the team, many different people and businesses in Cleveland offered to buy the team from him but he woudnt sell the team. When the owners met to approve the the transfer, bus loads of Browns fans went to Atlanta to stop the transfer and at least beg and plead for Tue name, colors, records, and history of the team would stay in Cleveland.

So yes, he stole the team from Cleveland just like that no holding call in the 4th quarter stole the super bowl from the 49ers.

Edit: I'm sure no one south of Akron, Ohio gives a flying feth as to whether or not Art stole the team, it's Browns fans that care, and most of us are up here in the Cleveland area .

I think the Ravens lack quick-strike potential, especially in the playoffs when everyone really bears down on defense. It's hard to have to put 10 or 12 play drives together every time. Some of that is on Flacco. Some of that is on a very vanilla offense. Some is on his receivers. They seem to have some fast guys now...but are they good *receivers*? I'm not sure.

Suggs being out hurts. Reed and Lewis aren't they players they were (especially Lewis), but they're still probably two of the team's top four players on defense. I guess I have a hard time seeing them as an ascending team. Last year was their year to break through, IMO.

Plus the guy that started it said that teo had nothing to do with it.

In NFL Action the 9res can suck an egg, I hate them so much right now.

All they had to do was pick up a 2nd and 2, and then a 3rd and 2 to get a first down and score a TD just before halftime. But no they suck and had to kick the field goal, missed out on $600 because of that.

but grats to the ravens and a hard fought cinderella story season for Ray Lewis.

Ouch, $600 . Yeah, I was surprised the 49ers didn't go for it more early to get TDs instead of field goals (and even mid-game). Ravens certainly went all-in, that fake field goal call on 4th and 9 was gutsy and the players backed it up by forcing a 3-and-out then scoring a TD before half.

Definitely a tale of 2 games: 28-6 Ravens before blackout, 6-25 after . Almost gave me a heart attack but they had just enough left to stop Kaepernick and company and get the win! 49ers will certainly be back, they looked downright scary after the blackout.

Great game, no doubt. I'm a huge 49ers fan so I'm not too happy, but good job to the Ravens. I just hope we the people don't have to deal with Ray Lewis thanking God every minute of every day anymore. That got downright tiring; you'd half expect him to float up into heaven after the Super Bowl win.

As for the 49ers... they should have played in the first half if they wanted to win. People will whine about the hold on Crabtree, but I don't think it was worthy of a flag. Other calls were missed in my opinion (Ed Reed was clearly offsides during that 2 pt. conversion play which could have tied the game). That last red zone push by the 49ers was just plain sad. Seemed like they were just crossing their fingers on every play.

I think they'll be back though, soon.

That really surprised me

That is Kruger replaced but the Raven's Defence is still down 5 starters including 3/4 of their secondary

Miami has been spending like players are going out of fashion with Ellerbe and Mike Wallace being their best two additions, now if only they had a QB

And the Jets circus has kept running by signing Garrard and having Geno Smith for a private workout

Meanwhile I am contempt with the Bears signings.
Martellus Bennett is a huge upgrade at TE as is pro-bowl LT Jerome Bushrod.
The Urlacher business isn't pretty but the Bears stuck by their price and have signed a veteran saftey and two more LBs on the minimum to help keep this D on top

Jerry has no vision...no long term plan for his team..EVER! He isnt drafting a QB in this draft.

--hilarious deal they just gave Romo...reward a QB with an elite QB contract --he has a single playoff win. This should cripple that franchise for the next 6 years. Its another example of desperate Jerry making desperate moves. With the addition of Chip Kelly into the east, a better Skins team and the always dangerous Giants, the Cowboys will continue to underacheive.

The secondary was hurting with the losses of Reed (Who apparently wasn't wanted back by Harbaugh according to a Baltimore paper), Pollard and Williams

The have Michael Huff but no one else and one fo their back up safeties has been banned for the first four games for controlled substance abuse
They still need to work on that but their pass rush should be improved if anything with the addition of Dumervil

I agree, Byte.

Yes alot of folks from the defense left, but it was a defense that was ranked 17th at its best, I believe. The new additions are all great, and we can expect some Ozzy Newsome draft pick magic ( as always) to fill some holes. I personally believe the Ravens D will be better this coming year.

They also lost Boldin which hurts their passing game, which puts more pressure on the defense. I'm not saying the ravens as a team won't do alright, just that their defense will be outside the top 10 in a lot of different measurable statistics. They have lost a lot this off season and it's going to show in '13. TsuggZ and ngata are the leaders of that D now. Lets see how it goes.

The secondary is definitely an issue, particularly given their slow ILB corps.

But that much mass up front in the 3-4 configuration will certainly tie up the O-line. Throw in the ability to shift Ngata and Canty down to any given 4-3 configuration (with Suggs and Dumerville covering the DE spots) and you have a godsend for the MLB/ILBs; most of whom are too slow to wait for their second read.
