Hey guys,
Game Empire is having it's first RTT of 08 on Saturday the 12th. 2000 points and $10 entry fee.
Come on all you So Cal Dakkites, let's make this RTT huge. I hope Mortetvie makes it, so I can get a rematch with him. Frenrik too.

Sounds interesting. Maybe I'll show up and drag Lormax with me. What are the rules?

From my experience at GE:

3 rounds as normal
Missed used are from the RTT packet with Battle Point Modifier in effect
2,000 pts. as Darrian mentioned
Non-painted=OK, but there is a painting score
Scoring sheets are from the RTT packet so your points total is based on:
Win/Draw/Loss + BP modifiers Massacre/Minor victory distinctions are not relevant
Sportsmanship (from generic RTT sheet)
Composition (from generic RTT sheet)
Painting (scored by TO's)

Were there any other specific bits of rules you were looking for?

If the Wyches are painted, I will bring Wyches-otherwise I think I'll bring my mortars/ballistic weapon Guardsmen.

Is the new Ork Codex going to be legal for it seeing as it is somewhat out for those that pre-ordered the Spearhead?

I am sure it will as long as you bring a copy of it with you and you notify the TO. We have a store copy, but you should bring your own just in case.

Alright then, I think I'll give 3 lucky people an easy win by showing up then.

Are there any rule clarifications in effect like the adepticon FAQ or the YakFAQ? If not, I hope the judges are up to speed on things.

The judges are pretty good and we usually have a few very experienced players attending so the shenanigans is kept to a minimum.

I aim to please. Luckily, with vibrocannons, aim doesn't matter.

Do they run things WYSIWYG there? If so, how strict are they about it? I have a lot of heavy weapons on things that were great in 2nd edition that are not so useful (and sometimes just straight illegal...D-cannon on my dreadnaught) anymore, so I just pay the points for whatever it is I really want. Is that likely to be an issue?

They are not that strict, just make sure that your opponent is very clear about what he is facing as soon as you deploy it.

Do you know if Game Empire has a specific ruling on the power klaw with shoota boyz debate? I'd like to make sure my list is ready.

Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

You generally will not get a ruling until the codex is released.

Also most GW tournaments make you wait at least a month before you can use a new codex to make sure that everyone has a chance to learn all of the new rules, but that is up to Games Empire.

@lemurking, Since I do not know the answer, why don't you call the store and ask the TO? Here is the number (626) 304-2637. Ask for Travis.

Darrian-

Do you remember if GE has allowed Special Characters from Codexes prior to named HQ choices in the past or not?

GE allows all special characters that do not require opponents consent to be used. Off the top of my head, I cannot think of any that have that restriction, but I am sure they exist.

Hopefully Lelith doesn't . . . I don't remember seeing it anywhere in the Codex, but I'll make sure to check before Saturday

2,000 points? Why god why?

How much time do they give per game. I'm definitely not going to bother if it's only 2 1/2 hours or less. I don't understand why people keep upping the points values in tournaments without altering the amount of time needed to complete your games.

I am so tired of not being able to finish tournament games because I play armies with lots of models.

Plus, I have to work tomorrow night which means I'll get very little sleep and I'll have to miss the football playoffs.

I was planning on going to this but I'm really starting to lean towards bailing.

Perhaps I'll just show up to say hi for a bit.

That is because you don't play MEQs.

You need to get on the bandwagon and play space marines like everyone else.

Tell you what, I will buy you a box of space marines...the first box will be free.

I must say I totally agree with Yak on this one. More points means more time to set up and more time do anything in the game. Fortunately my army excels at short games so I don’t imagine its going to hurt me too much. In either case, it is a lot less fun when you don’t actually get to finish your games because you always run into time restraints.

Regardless, I’m going to be showing up tomorrow and I’ll probably have a fat crew with me. Lormax will be coming along with Scuddman and our friend Andy as well. It should be good times.

Are they always 2,000 points Darrian?

Also, what is the time allotment per game (including set-up)?

Yes, Game Empire (Pasadena and San Diego) always do 2000 point 40K RTT's.

2 1/2 hour time limit. Set up usually is not included in the time limit.

Just come on down Yak, Sergio is gonna be there and he will probably win again.

Damn Sergio (Fenrik)!
