Several people have asked me what I'm running.

I've tweaked the list a little bit, here it is.

Wow, that's a lot of AV14. Only 3 5 man scoring units though. Planning on keeping them in the LRC's as long as humanly possible?

Yep. They will stay inside those LRC until the LRC are killed or I can fry something from out of LOS and get back in next turn.

The rest of the army is expendable and does more damage.

You expecting a lot of Nidzilla/Chaos Zilla lists in your area? How are you going to kill enough stuff to win with this list? I'm not bashing the list at all, i find it amusing, i just was wondering about what kind of tactics you plan on using with this?

Lists that are incredibly hard to kill dont need to be incredibly killy because they buy time.

If fex hit LR,it can easily penetrate.

Oh I agree Tok, that is what i was asking. Does he think he's going to go against Nidzilla, and if he is what then? 6-8 MC's and he only loses 2 on average per turn.

I was kinda wondering what list he was planning on running into since then the army might make sense tactically, to me.

I was just thinking about posting this army... Unfortunately I will miss the Ard' Boyz and I would be 3 land raiders short anyway. I can't wait to hear how it does.

I was thinking that if I did it I might switch out some flamers for meltaguns so that a if I needed a better chance of killing some armor I would have a good chance. It would be a good match for a LR redeemer, if that was available.

No, I think "thinking" about other armies someone MAY bring is a hopeless catch22 and makes for much worse lists.

Your list is pretty solid, but I'd have to say that I'd have a little bit of an issue with your "counts as".

Your whole army looks exactly the same, except it's supposed to represent stormtroopers and inquisitor retinues. Maybe I'm missing something or you don't have all the models shown, in which case, why bother showing the army next to the list then?

Every model is indeed different.

Stormtroops all crouch. They also all have two-handed weapons in the 'across the chest' style.

Retinues all stand. They all have two one-handed weapon poses. The only exceptions are the two Inquisitors who have the across the chest look. The DH is readily identifiable since he's a GK with a psycannon without a backpack...the WH elite isn't so much at range but he does have a shotgun modeled (and drilled out).

The lascannon teams are on bases, all the guard have lasrifles.

Basically the army splits in two:

Sisters, Stormtroopers, and GKT go forward. If you are still 'confused' then you are either being willful or should be playing with nickels and pennies.

The retinues sit back and the IG sit behind them.

The biggest problem I think for most people was the retinues were usually deployed together...but aha, I thought about that too.

The DH retinue was always deployed in between the two WH retinues. One had a Battle Sister leading, the other had a IG w/shotgun leading it. However, the guns on the WH retinues were pointed straight while the DH heavy bolters were pointed down at an angle.

I did my best to keep them in a straight line so people could tell them apart and I tried to be clear in who was shooting (my Lord, the WH elite, the DH retinue) in both announcing and pointing.

You have no lascannon teams, no sisters, and no WH retinutes in the army listed above.

None of your models are crouching, and every single model is a guardsmen, and 1 Grey Knight. How do you tell the guardsmen, (who are repping stormtroopers and retinues) apart? Which models are the Inquisitors? Read the spiky marine thread, and you'll see I'm all for counts as, but I'm scratching my head trying to figure out which is which in your army.

I may be wrong, but I though only =][= Lords can have Land Raider transports. Meaning the maximum number of Land Raiders in a DH force is 5.

The GK book is very poorly laid out and written.

Even by GW's standards.

For a long time, everyone thought regular Inquisitors could just take Raiders by themselves sans retinue.

Then GW said "no". lol

Uh, yea because we are in your 'Ard Boyz DH Army List thread. And because I can't tell which guys are which in your army, and you posted the picture in this thread presumably so we could see how it all looked together on the tabletop. No complaining, just asking for clarification.

Yeah I didn't care what you thought about the GUYS. I was posting the 7 LR for my own (and hopefully others) amusement.
