Hello folks, having picked up 2 AOBR sets to start my new ork army off I decided to give the Nobs some proper weapons.

Here is what I have so far, looking for suggestions on if they look orky and detailed enough.

Thanks for any help!

love em, just need scratching up a bit and maybe some wires and they will look perfect

Simple, but effective.

I agree that a few cables would help, as would a couple of glyphs on the larger flat surfaces.

Should look good painted up, though.

I'm going to have to do a few of these claw conversions myself.

Orks seem like a good enough spot to start scratchbuilding ^_-.

Orks are to scratchbuilding what Nurgle is to Greenstuffing.

Ya know I have been dreading doing this conversion on the nobs I got in my AOBR but after seeing yours and how the scratch build turns out just fine , I have no more good excuses. Thanks for the great pictures, and good job.

I just want to mention that from a gameplay standpoint, 2 klaws in a squad of 10 nobz is more than enough to kill anything. 4 is excessive.

Mini Edit to reply - Two are going in my Nobs Squad, the other 2 Klaw Nobs go in the 2 units of Slugga Boyz I got.

Thanks for the feedback folks! I'd love to see what others have come up for these guys as well.

Going to have to find some small wire and bits to make some power cables and battery packs, in the mean time here is my Huge Choppa Nob. I think he turned out really well.

There great I kitbashed a few of mine to get Power Klaws you going to do a Banner Bearer?

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

I'll have 9 nobs for a nob squad due to giving 2 to the slugga squads so I'm thinking of doing something like 2 PK, 1-3 Huge Choppas, maybe a banner Nob and 2-3 combi skorchas, depends on inspiration and bits.

So are you saying the amount he has is Orky, or that he's not yet reached that level and needs to add two more?

I like them, could use a bit more detailing on the power claws, maybe put some hydrolic rams on the claws and it would finish the look. Good job and love them 'uge choppas!

Looking good, especially those 'Uge Choppas. GS looks good enough to me as well...but have you considered adding a kitbashed pack?

Again, I really like the poses you caught with those 'Uge Choppa boys, definate winners.

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Somehow your conversions have made me realize that what the Ork line is missing is "chainhorns" - you know, like the horns on their helmets, but like chainweapons...

Thanks for all the comments, these orks have really helped me rediscover the joy of customizing models. My last 2 armies were Tau and Eldar, so I know how you feel, converting them and having it look good is a lot harder. PK Nobs have undergone some changes, 2 just added cables, trying to think of battery packs/back packs for other 2.

Some Painting WIPs
Pics are a lil darker than actual model, to me an ork is supposed to be dirty, GWs are waaaaay to clean.

'uge Choppa, I think this is my favorite ork model ever!

First PK, added a cable

Comments and criticism welcome, going for tabletop quality, both still need some cleaning up, matt varnish and finished bases.

I was trying to make him look like the one in the codex (or at least close!), I know the ammo drum looks a bit out of place but I didn't feel like cutting it off. The big choppa nobs still have sluggas as far as the rules go, its just that the one that comes with the model looks kinda silly hanging from the waist as its pretty big.

I have made a small tutorial on how to do the klaws which can be found here:

Thanks for all the comments folks.

Great pics! What did you use for the tubes? I have some Drinking Straws I might use for this purpose. VERY nice job! Just goes to show what one can do with a little inventiveness.

EDIT - woah, no, I just saw your Tutorial. Thanks for posting it!
