What is Gears of War but a reflection on the American Dream? Strong, musclebound men, carrying giant guns with chainsaws and armor that showcases their bulging muscles, all ready to save the world and possibly, if you're lucky and manly enough, offer to give you a high five and slap on the buttocks. Mmm, can't you imagine it? It sounds so delicious and the smell of a bodybuilder sweating while he's working hard...smells as good as some apple pie - and that's as american as it gets.

Everybody wants to ride on the Cole Train, baby!

The only thing missing are the really campy jokes about getting cooties from monster blood, over the top swearing and of course screaming whenever you revv that chainsaw and prepare to carve something up.

And I know I would ride the Cole Train!

However, I can see the US army getting a ton of those chainsaw implements, give them small gas powered engines and incorporate them into their first power armour prototypes.

A chainsaw that powered itself off of the suits electric power would have a lot more torque and wouldn't make as much noise.

Yes, yes it IS, because this guy did it himself, instead of paying 3x as much for another company to do it for him!

Did you actually play the game? There are no girls. It's an all boys' club. Girls have cooties.

Also the awesome protagonists of the game never teched up their own guns. They just point and shot. Fenix and Cole were too cool to service their own "guns", so they had guys like these do it for them. All for a low, low $300!

If you give a hillbilly a chainsaw it will cut.
If you give a hillbilly enough time it will create a tool that does both.

Powered armour would be strong enough that there would be no kick-back, and then you could have two of them one in each hand. That's a hillbilly's wet dream.

I thought a hillbilly's wet dream usually involved his sister or a cousin or three....

What are you cutting with a chainsaw though? The modern battlefield doesn't really place a high priority on felling trees.

Don't you think that the orcs could have used a couple in the battle with the Ents in LotRs?

Actually this might be useful for opening doors, though it seems like a shaped charge would be even better.....

Rambo could've used a chainsaw bayonet when he was running around in the jungle. Sure, the badguys would've heard, but he's Rambo.
