Well its post christmas and its time for a new army and I just thought I'd check if anyone has ever ordered from http://www.waylandgames.co.uk/?

Are they anygood or someone to avoid?

Yeah, they're ok, deliver what you want etc, but their online store is virtually non-existant, you always have to phone them up.

you'd be better off with http://www.littlemetalmen.co.uk or better still http://www.40kempire.com

avoid http://www.giftsforgeeks.co.uk if you are trying to order paints as they will mess up your order.

I've ordered from their online store a couple of times. The website is pretty basic, but the service is good. Unlike Nuclear mechanic above i've never had to phone them. Definately my favourite place to buy bulk.

I am the owner of Wayland..

I am confused. Are you confusing us with someone else? In the 4000 orders we have processed in the last 4 months I have spoken to 5 customers on the phone to resolve issues. Every issue is usually resoved within an hour by email etc.

We have an error rate on orders mispacks etc of less than 2%, which considering our rapid growth is something I am proud of. And we will continue to improve everything we do to get the products we sell to you cheaper and faster.

Our online store non existant? In what way? Its supposed to be simple and basic. Our offering is simple and basic, discounted products with good service. With integrity.

To provide another unbiased view: A friend of mine uses Wayland games and has recently been singing their praises as an excellent outlet.

I promise I am not under some form of mind control from Rich1231...

He clutched it tightly in his hand and turned towards his foe letting it build in the twin energy spheres and then finally! RELEASE! Hello,

I work for Gifts For Geeks. The only time we have issues with paints is when people forget to write what paints they would like in the "message to seller" section of the checkout.

We can't ship out your paints if we don't know what they are!

Also, If you intend to purchase via Google Checkout please email us your selection at, paints@GiftsForGeeks.org.uk, as Google Checkout do not pass on messages to sellers.

I hope that clears things up!

Reread the post. He wasn't saying it wasn't true, just the opposite actually. He was telling you how to avoid the problem that Nuclear Mekanik had.

Hello,

I did not say he was not telling the truth. I simply was trying to inform people how to avoid a rare issue.

Its me again.

Ive been sulking for weeks about N Maniaks comments on our site. I cant help but smell a fish with his remarks, we had an almost identical post on a thread at WXXseer that slagged us off and suggested 2 rivals. I will stand by our business when it is unfairly attacked.
And I will also defend Giftsforgeeks here as no one i know has ever had an issue with them.

Aah... in that case, Gifts for Geeks gets my approval, as everything else from them was spot on. A note on your website re: the paints selection and Google Checkout would be helfpul, although it seems pretty dumb that Google Checkouts lets you write a message to the seller, then it doesn't get passed on.

I've just looked at Wayland Games and they now actually have a proper shop, last time I went there there was no clickable proper online shop. Looks like I need to eat some humble pie with some of you guys.

So I guess my advice now is just to shop around between the lot, wayland games, 40k empire, little metal men, gifts for geeks, and see which one will give you the best price on the bits you want. Whatever one, at least it's cheaper than the workshop!!

I'd like to put my 2 cents in here.

I own Heresy Online. Wayland Games have been advertising with us for months now.

I haven't heard anything but words of praise for them so I'm incredibly shocked by the comments of Nuclear Mekanik.

Both Wayland Games and Gift for Geeks have been outstanding.

They've had my custom before and most certainly will do again.

My, my, my, quite the little group hug going on here. Let me add to it. Buy stuff from Heresy. The models are great and the Netherlord still remains one of my all time favorite models (even if it was pain to put together). This year I will buying a few more things from them as my time becomes more open - love those ghouls!

Of-course, here's hoping I am talking about the same company and not another Heresy.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

I never go on Warseer and don't know anyone in person who does, so can't take any responsibility for comments posted there. I guess someone else had a problem with you guys too.

I guess that's the trouble with internet stores and internet forums. 40k players are currently spoilt for choice in the UK, and I think it's the same in the US, for places online to buy GW products cheaper than the GW website or in GW's stores. Any problems dealing with any of these sites and people will quite happily switch to one of the others and can post up on forums that they've had problems. It's very difficult for these online shops to protect themselves on a forum without being flamed by forumers, It's very easy and not with much thought that people can slate online stores on forums.

I have ordered from wayland games, the order took a little long (longer then it at that time said it would, which i think was 5 working days, i got it much later) but was well packaged and at the end of the day at a damn good price. Now they have decided to hold stock i imagine it will be much quicker and would see no reason not to use them.

Infact i will be again

I just put in an order. Their Paypal checkout is busted. In fact they have 3 different Paypal checkout buttons and I had to try all of them for my payment to finally get through. Now I have a Paypal receipt but it still says "Payment pending" on the Wayland website. Urgh.

I ordered from Wayland recently as well and had the same issue with Paypal payments. To be fair to them when I contacted them they replied in less then 10 minutes and we sorted the problem immediately. Just waiting for them to get it all in stock now

@LunaHound if you add the item you want to the basket you can set the shipping country and it will tell you the shipping price. I added the IG battleforce and it said it would be 7 pound sterling to ship to Canada, but double check

Thanks! i have been doing lots of calculations lately because i want to give this shop a try.
I noticed the Europe pricing differs quite abit from Canada . Some items ends up with only 10% discount, while
others can go up to 40% ish, so im been careful to not order the wrong ones :"P

One last question if i may , how exactly do they take care of the exchange rates? Is it set the moment i place the order?
or they get to pick a time to charge credit card when it benefit their currency?
Because one thing about international order that worries me the most is, if today i order $200 worth of stuff,
1 week later bill comes and it says $220 ( exchange rate gone up lol not s&h )

According to there rules, they bill you there and then:

"Payment must be made upon the submission of your order."

For my order it was paid right away, although I would have been better waiting as the Euro went up another bit the day after :(

But don't forget you will have to pay import duty and tax/vat when you import them to Canada.

I suppose its illegal to lower the total amount to declare >.> ? do international seller do that lol . ( or will they give me a funny look ? )

I dont know how custom's formula works but when i bought my phantom from england , i think customs charged me $60

I've ordered twice from Wayland and didn't have any problems the second time.

The first time either the site or PayPal (It wasn't entirely clear) was fething up, so it looked like I had made three orders instead of one.
I e-mailed them and got a reply back surprisingly quickly saying that I didn't have a triplicate order.
Unfortunately the guy who answered me apparently cancelled the one order that did go through :-O

But the one successful order was fine and I was happy with the company...
