I vow to buy, assemble, and paint an ig squad in one week. When I work up the cash I'l start. Right now i don't, so the projects on hold.

I'd say that if the IG were up to at least a good tabletop standard, that would be very impressive (as IG are probably the most time consuming models to paint, considering the size of the units).

So, as soon as you get the funds, let's see it.

Have to conivce the parental units to order them, don't have any store nearby to purchase from. The nearset is in Franklin Mills, PA, but I won't tell you where I livee cause, you may be those people you hear about on the news.

I knew there was a reason I don hate you. At least your somewhat supportive. I aslo don't intend for them to look even good, because I suck at painting.

When you get the models and start painting keep us updated, I would like to see how it turns out.

I sencond your vow sir! I has the guardsmen (so many, many guardsmen... so many) and they is need the paint! I too shall paint 20 guardsmen in a week! If you really do suck at painting go with a camo scheme. camo is easy, looks good, dosen't take long (I pop out a fully painted, tabletop standard, camo guardsmen in 30-45 mins) and regardless of how much you suck at painting faces most people will compliment your army.

Crap! Just realized I don't have the codex! Well, I figure the new dex will be out in a couple of months, so, until then witch doctrines do you suggest I use. I made up my mind, and am planning to buy the cadian battle force from gameshed, just to give you an idea of the modles I'm gonna be using.

Just paint as many guardsmen with las rifles as humanly possible.
Should be a safe bet till the new codex comes out.
Then work out sergeants and heavy/special weapons.

I agree. and remember that you should be able to put together a lot more heavy weapons than GW intended. throw the large bases they give you w/ heavy weapons in the trash. The guardsmen with a lasgun is an utterly worthless shmuck though so don't get attached to him! I fired over 200 las rounds at failcrons tonight and only killed about 7 failcrons... I still won though. Good luck with the guard!

this might be good. if you could get a unit done per week, for any army BUT guard, you'd have a decent army in a couple months. guard is so the wrong choice for this, will take you ages this way
