It's a sad day for me personally. I've had a lot of great times on Dakka and when I found out that Russ was selling the site I figured that I really wanted to try to continue the great legacy that had been established by him.
However, the truth is, running a website is both very expensive and also very time consuming. Unfortunately, both of these things are in short supply for me right now.
I regret to inform the Dakka community that effective today I no longer own dakkadakka.com and will be stepping away from the site to handle some personal business. Unfortunately this also means I've had to cancel my trip to Adepticon and I know I've left my teammates in a pinch, but they've assured me that they can find someone to fill in for my place on the team so at least I haven't ruined their plans as well.
Unlike the last time Dakka changed hands, this time the sale has gone down behind closed doors to someone I felt was more than capable and willing, that person being Malfred.
He is a very, very long time user (longer than me, even) and I believe he has the right tools to take the site to the next level. Also, Legoburner will be staying on to help maintain the technical excellence in the site, so nothing major should change on that end.
I have spoken with Malfred about his plans, and I do know that the site will continue to support Warhammer 40K and other GW discussion, but for the most part he is planning to start moving it towards mainly Warmachine/Hordes coverage. But I'll let Malfred tell you all about that in a bit when he signs on as the official 'Admin' for the site.
Don't worry about me, I'll still be around every now and then in an honorary 'mod' position and I'm sure my personal issues will get sorted out in time and I'll be able to return to Dakka in a larger capacity eventually.

Thanks for what massive input you have put into dakka, we will miss you and I look forward to seeing you on the site at a later date as a mod.
I add at the end though, if this is a joke, I will find you and force you to read me the 40k rule book backwards for the rest of your life.

With the speed at which things went down, I didn't have time to really talk to anyone on Dakka about this besides Legoburner and Malfred (and now my Adepticon teammates).
I do know that Malfred does plan to keep most of the current moderators on, but you should send him a PM to double-check.
