Building myself a dicetower... got it about 3/4 done, with all the guts in place, just have to build the top up now..

Obviously using the GW buiding kits, used a set of the roof tiles to make an intermediate story, found to my mild annoyance, that because of how the building segments turn corners that a 2x2 block of floor tiles will not fit inside a 2x2 buildingthe interior ramps are plasticard, glued to balsa wood supports and gorillia glued in solidly... I gave them a coat of fleckstone paint to roughen the surface to slow the dice a bit..

It's a gaming acessory, drop dice in the top, they tumble down off a few inclined planes to get randomizeed, and end up at the tray in the bottom..

Unless i my guess is totally off. You toss your dice in the top and they come out the door into the courtyard. A cool fancy way to roll your dice i believe.

It keeps your die in place so they don't scatter when you roll them.

This reminds me of the old cartoons where they make an elaborate device to simply crack an egg.....LOL

Reminds me of coyote & roadrunner. Which makes it even cooler because it's 40k coyote & roadrunner.

I just gotta say I LOVE IT!!! For a split second upon seeing exactly what it was I wanted to roll my eyes but then I realized how useful something like this would be on an already crowded table-top. Should have done this a week earlier as a tutorial, I would have voted for it! No more AoBR box top!

I love it. A guy at the club uses a dice tower and it's super useful. I love it even more because I have lots of building bits sitting around right now and can make my own. The nifty thing about this is you can call it impassable terrain and it's suddenly multipurpose.

Holy gak! I've been wanting to make my own dice tower after seeing one on geekchic, but I didn't think of making one so GRIMDARK! It's fantastic! PLEASE, BY THE EMPEROR, KEEP US UPDATED!

Looks great! I can see it getting lost on a CoD table though...... OK, my marines will enter this tower and take up postions on the ..... oops!

Entering the Courtyard should be Difficult Terrain because of falling dice. Or have models automatically take a wound if dice knock them over!

Now thats fancy. The only thing I can see being a problem is the courtyard looks a little small. So if you start throwing a bunch of dice it could get congested.

It takes a double handfull (26) of standard small dice to really fill it up, worst problem I've had is a die or two bouncing out the gap in front, the lil stub of a post there was put in after the fact, and between that and the fleckstone coat, seems to have solved the problem.

About 3/4 Painted, still gotta do all the brasswork (green parts) and the lights..

BTW, how many dice can you CONCIEVABLY roll in this?

You should paint the ramp inside the doorway black and then put flames on it so it looks like a doorway to some sort of big incinerator. You'd have to to varnish it a lot so the dice wouldn't chip your paint, of course.

I was wondering if you could give some basic dimensions on it? I have a bad habit of going to large with stuff unless I have some guide lines to keep me in check.

26 Dice eh? Thats not too bad I guess. Tho I HAVE had CC where my dice count hit 70 attacks lol

An IG player back at good old Napo's had a dice tower modeled on a World War I trench periscope. It actually worked. We used it sometimes to do LOS (or just bounce our laser pointers off of).

Imo its to nice for dice
