I still haven't finished my metal 28mm WoTR army and the Perries go and announce a full series of WoTR figures in plastic.

Archers, billmen and some men-at-arms are already done in Green. Continental troops and cavalry are planned, and the range will launch in about 6 months.

Damn them!

These figures will also b highly adaptable for WHFB and possibly 40K if you use a lot of imagination.

Some of the figures would do for late HYW, too.

How about you all drop the stupid acronyms and go to hell instead of the Perry Brothers? They still have a lot of time needed in this realm and a lot of minis still to sculpt for us.

The troops are so-so, but that farmhouse harkens back to all the times I was nearly bored to death because my dad dragged us all up to Ridgeway so his mother could serve us the worst home cooking I've ever had. Have you ever tried to find something to do in a town of 250 people that is both fun and legal? It can't be done! Anyway, I'll be picking up some of them thar farmhouses, and then happily wrecking them!!! Anybody know where I can find cow and pig skeletons?

Yeah, GW converted a lot of the WotR metals to plastic. Like the Balorg.

But this is War of the Roses, not War of the Ring, as was mentioned a few posts up. Historicals.

Click the link, noobs.

If the OP is going to use a GW acronym on a GW board to mean something non-GW, he should say so.

More like Charles the Rolled, amirite?

War of the Roses?

What was one medocre movie. Why would you need it in plastics anyway? Once you have Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner (maybe Danny DeVito) you're done.

I'm definitely getting these the Perry's Bretonnians were one of the things that dragged me into Fantasy all those years ago and proper multi-part plastic Longbowmen Billmen and Foot Knights. Utterly awesome!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Dakka isn't a GW board, broseph. It's a miniatures wargaming board.

I love these Perry Bros. WotR plastics though. We need some nice plastic billmen to replace the crappy Bretonnian men at arms (the old metal ones were so much better!)

And by WotR I mean War of the Roses. The War of the Ring stuff isn't bad either though.

Love the Sudan stuff. May have to buy some. Got a great book on this, "Khartoum, the last Great Imperial Adventure". All the great military campaigns (i.e. the ones with the best stories) took place in Victorian times.

There's a great book -- Someone Has Blundered -- which is the story of some of the great Victorian military disasters.

Cool, not seen that one. Cheers Kilkrazy Guessing The Charge of the Light Brigade is in there somewhere, the most spectacular military blunder of all time. Now if the Perrys did miniatures for Balaklava, they would certainly have my attention.

I can't remember of the Charge is in Someon Bluundered but it probably is. There's loads of good stuff in there anyway.

This book is still the classic study on the Charge Of The Light Brigade.
