It finishes 3-2 to Brazil. To be fair, they were by far the better team in the end but...

USA played exceptionally well. They don't have the best players but they played like a team and should be very pleased with themselves. I reckon they lost due to their lack of experience at this level. Not many of their players will have played nearly as many pressure games as their brazilian counterparts.

Have the USA qualified for the next world cup? I hope so, as they will score goals and hopefully give us fans a few entertaining games!

It's gotta be said for the USA to stand up against Brazil is quite something even though they lost.

Costa Rica ARE doing better. CR has 12 Points from 5 games atm, USA have 10. So unless 10 is suddenly better than 12, Costa Rica are beating the USA in Qualifying. Also, if you are talking about the first point, a Good team does not go from 2-0 to 2-3 in 1 half. Bad teams do, Unskilled teams do, not good teams.

Please look up the term "underdog." Also, this is the OT forum, not YMDC, so you don't have to be such a tool. I certainly didn't see England or the team you switched to when you couldn't defend England (Italy) doing well in the Confederation Cup.

Either way, it was a good game. Should have been 4-2 in truth, as Kaka's goal clearly crossed the line, but it doesn't really matter. It's a huge, huge improvement from the last World Cup. Definitely hopeful for the U.S. even if they're only second in their group (clearly that means they are a terrible team, come on guys. second=last.)

Even you will have to admit that the U.S. is making huge strides in the international arena. And that is something that we can enjoy, despite your efforts.

The USA needs to improve it's fitness and resolve to take the next step in internationals. The on-the-ball skills of Brazil have only ever been matched by Spain, and occasionally Yugoslavia/Croatia.

Italy won the last world cup by being resolute in defense and wearing their opponents out over the course of the game. The USA did that for 45mins tonight, then one error allowed Brazil to get going again. If they come through qualifying, i see them getting to the quarter finals...

That said, USA is a solid team. They lack the outright talent necessary to play at a truly elite level, but their fundamentals and conditioning are sound; two things that mark the beginning of a good program.

Its the difference between aesthetic judgment, and textual fact.

Logic is really, really easy when you're given a core set of terminology on which to base your judgments. Its just a matter of complexity. Its far more difficult when you have to create, and correctly use, that terminology for yourself. Like when you're judging athletic performance.
