Well I was just wandering if anyone wanted to start something where maybe... 5 or so people who have armies to paint, start WIP threads and select a unit every week, and have that unit done by the end of the week... next week choose a new unit, have it done by the end of the week... etc etc... I remember someone trying to start something like this a while ago but I dont know if it ever went through cause I never see anything about it... It would jsut be cool if 5 or so people did this and put a good amount of effort into the models they choose for the week!... Anyone up for it?

Just some guide lines
-Pick your unit/vehicle/etc for the week! Its up to you what you want to do for the week!
-Theres no limit on painting only! If you want to build/convert something for the week, That works too!
-Theres no painting standard! Paint the best that you can(or want to)
-Dont pick to much stuff! The goal is to finish what you say your going to! Painting extra is good too though!
-Post progress and what not in this thread! (If you make your own thread, thats fine! Let me know though and Ill link it one this page!)
-Lets limit the pictures everyone post to 2-3 pictures a week! Just so we can get some different angles on your stuff!
-Encourage each other! Give each other tips! PLEASE DONT tell each other how horrid and grotesque (nurgles an exception ) their work is!
-Let me know if you want to get in on all the fun! Remember we are here to help each other, improve, and get some stuff done for once (well its a first for me to actually painting some thing and get it done!)

Ok everyone so here is how I plan to do the updates... This thread will CONTINUE to be the thread where I post peoples goals every week, and people can post on here if they want to join in and what not.

EVERY WEEK ON FRIDAY I will make a NEW thread in the Painting & Modeling Section Called

WIP Armies Week #

Just look for that thread on friday Saturday or Sunday when you are ready to post you pictures... remember only post 1-3 pictures (different angles please!) of the CURRENT weeks completed models! I will also put a link at the bottom of the Original Post on THIS THREAD of the current weeks *Picture Thread* to make it easy to find for people.

-On every friday there will be a thread called "WIP Armies Week #"
-There will be a link on this thread to that thread so its easy to find
-Try to get your 1-3 pictures posted in that thread between Friday->Sunday... if you cant, I understand... things happen D:
-PM me the next weeks goal
-THIS THREAD will always be the thread containing your goals etc
-Dont forget to check back at the pictures thread! Our hope is to get some feedback/suggestions/encouragment/etc from people!
-This will be how it is every week!
-If you have any questions just ask
-If you have any ideas, Toss them at me!

I would like to but good standard of painting? not for me

Well it doesnt have to be like... AMAZING. I should probably rephrase it on the OP... meant more of like, kinda of the best that you can on what ever you pic for the week. Just to see how people do in painting models with a good amount of effort, and hopefully even see them improving over time (I sure know I need to improve!)... and even getting an army completely painted (I need one of those too haha)!!

In that case i will be up for it! I'll be painting my Chapter master later on this week after i buy some new brushes and paints. My army will be Death Dragons. The chapter master has a fitting name of Addonexus latin for bringer of death.

I think the amount to be finished is strictly decided on personal lvl . We list the amount for sure we can finish, anything extra done = bonus!

Well like Luna said, here is fine, I think if we have everyone make their own thread it gets away from the point and it might trail off and die :( However if we post what we have finished for the week in this thread, and encourage each other, give each other tips, etc. It will make it pretty fun, and I think we will accomplish more!

Why dont we start it this week? Figure out what we are all working on, and post up the finished work next Saturday/Sunday!

As for the rhino (Im assuming you mean paint the rhino with the unit in the same week?) its up to you! You can take a week to paint a vehicle... or paint with the accompanying unit or what ever the case may be!

So what army are you going to do Luna? And whats everyones unit/vehicle/etc for the week? I think Im going to try and finish my Assault Squad as well as my Tech-Marine.

Edit: And ineed its up to you what you want to finish... we cant tell you to paint a full unit right? How would it be fair for me to paint 10 marines and someone else 30 orks? So yeah... its up to you!

I agree LunaHound i haven't painted for 2+ years so i'm a little rusty. So should we post individual lists for our armies?

Its up to you , personally i panic if i have to think about the total amount of things to finish.
Thats why im breaking it into weekly chunks xD ( bite size chunks! )

I won't be able to do much for the next month because of my GCSEs and revision so i may have to join in later if i am able to.

this would more belong in the P&M blog forum than here though. i'd be interested in this but i have doubts about my ability to do a squad per week (not just in my free time but also because i have to drive 24 miles to the nearest FLGS that sells models). how about every 2 weeks so we can cover both painting AND modelling? for the first week we post the modelling (i.e. assembled and converted but unpainted models) pics to show off any special conversions. the next week would be painting. both would have a restriction of one update post (with as many pics as you like) per member per week (but you could comment freely in between). each member would start the thread with a post that they would update every two weeks with a single pic of the finished model. that way, after 8 weeks, each member would have a first page post with 4 painted squad pics and 8 more with conversions and pics.

Edit: Didnt see your post till after this post warboss.... Just too keep the thread going inbetween Id like to keep it every one week! But why restrict it to painting? Why not, lets say if you want to convert something and paint it and you think it will take two weeks, your goal can be converting it for the week (post pic at the end of the week). Next weeks goal is painting it (post pic at end of the week) I like the idea of resticted pictures... lets say 2 per week (we need some different angles eh?)

It'll basically be : Mine = winter + autumn color , His Elves will be autumn color + summer , Spring colors will be applied to spirits / chars to representing them revitalizing the forest .

By "unit", how big do you mean? I own four different armies and as such, their "unit size" varies from 1-32.

EDIT: Looking over my table with miniatures, I've decided to re-do my Deceiver all over again. I built him and painted most of him but... I detest how he looks. So, I'm gonna strip him down to bare parts tomorrow and re-build and paint him.

Its completely up to you. Doesnt even have to be a unit. Some people will paint vehicles, others will paint HQ's, others will paint War Machines... Its completely up to you what you paint, and how much you paint! My goal is 10 Assault Marines... Luna's is 12 Dryads... so its completely up to you!

Sure. If the people who are going to be involved in this project want to, you can post with your army, goal for week 1, army name if you have one, and ONE picture of your color scheme

I will be doing a Soul Drinkers Space Marine army, paint scheme is dark purple with a gold trim, goal for the week is Tech-Marine and 10 man Assault squad

Yes sir, that would be your goal is to have what you planned done by next sunday and a new goal set, of coarse if you think it will take you 2 weeks for one thing, thats fine too!

BBL Word Bearers and Tyranids
I Pledge (kinda like a painting pledge me thinks) to paint at least 2 units or squads a week be them Word Bearers or Tryanids for the Commission i am doing

I would love to do this, but the cash of which i have none, is letting me down (once again..)

bah, due to supply issues I'll push daddy for next week since I have nothing that I can use to strip the paint. instead, I found a tomb spyder and a necron lord destroyer that could use some paint (and that topic in the painting forum inspired me to finish the lord )
